Shephards Beach Resort Reviews

We go to Shephards for Easter brunch every year, and every year it is amazing. I recommend sitting outside even if you have to wait because the views are beautiful and in April the weather is amazing. Good quality buffet and they turn the food frequently so nothing gets cold. My only complaint is that they did not have crab legs this year like they have had in the past. Still five stars.

Loved it! The room was very clean with a great view ,good bar with a live band playing on stage right next to you.

Shephard s doesn t disappoint! Sunday nights are quite the show! This beach bar has been crushing it for years and continues to be a staple in Clearwater, FL! If you are looking for a party hotel in Clearwater you have found the right place!

Pushy staff. No denim shorts allowed so got directed to gift shop to purchase non denim counter associate tried to short me 20 dollars on my change. Seems like a tourist trap to me !

I would have left a zero star if I could. The head of security was completely rude, and thought he was law inforcement. The valet service is horrible!! They really need to learn customer survice. I wish the best to who ever has to deal with them.

My day visit to the resort was great. The rooms, the lobby and the grounds were clean and inviting. The pool and bar area was spacious and our poolside waiter was attentive and friendly. The beach area was a little small and crowded but overall a great day.

Didn t stay here just had the buffet. We use to enjoy it . They now charge an additional $15 to add crab legs to your already $29.99 buffet charge. They removed crab legs from buffet and now serve you. They were cold and hot at the same time so cracking them open was a challenge. The buffet had a lot more seafood than meat options so my girlfriend didn t eat much. Very disappointed and expensive for what we got. Was not worth it!!!

The VIP section of the club was nice. Loved the music the DJ played and the go go dancers!!

I Love Shephard's normally, but I understand Superbowl weekend you charge more than double for your rooms. The problem I have is I've paid a lot of money for my room, I can't get a table by the Tiki Bar. I sit and watch people friends of staff get tables. It's just not right .

Went to the club there the other night. It was amazing.

We stayed for 6 nights. Was a decent resort on a good stretch of Clearwater Beach. The views on the Gulf side are nice, the drink are good, food was always good aswell. The resort was just overly loud with music at times such as 2 and 3AM. Weekends are completely understandable but weekdays there should be a better time limit for the bands such as midnight. Upon check in the incidental $150 fee that is refundable was not clear at all what it was for so we were using this as like a tab for our room because that's how it was explained. But before leaving we had to pay another 209.00. I'd actually like to come back to shepherds but first, I will look at a few other resorts before paying in full again months ahead.

Ended one stage before the other causing ridiculous congestion in the indoor stage.

The hotel was great, clean comfortable room. Good air conditioning. The restaurant buffet was great. The pool area was a great party, with reasonable drink prices even though they had guest djs all day and even a famous one that evening. Great people watching too.

Alot of cockroaches plz don't go there its so bad the mangers they was so rude to us they tried to play us with free breakfast and they was saying u shouldn't come to Florida if u dont want to see cockroaches in hotels wrost hotel ever.

Great palce to grab a drink with some friend and meet new people.

It's a beach bar. When they have a big headliner it's legendary. When the don't it's still cool. Food is meh, but it passes. Cool location and nice sunsets gives it a bump in the right direction.

I took my car to be parked pay $20 went to the beach didn't have no space no room in the beach to stay anywhere. The sad thing about it if there's no freaking room I don't understand why they keep on taking people and for what to get frustrated they practically kicked us out we went back less than 30 minutes they didn't wanted to give me my money back horrible Place I would not recommend this place to nobody very rude people. So we went to the beach we had the best time ever it was beautiful nice people I will highly recommend the beach to anybody and everybody.. number one horrible Place number one. If I was able to rate this place I would have gave it a zero

Specifically reserved and requested beachside on any level but they put me across the street facing a gas station while admitting that the rooms weren't all filled to switch the place was not filled it was not spring break I may not have been 20ready to party but I paid good money for a room I did not get their customer service is very deceptive & condescending.

Great place for a bachelor party. I don't remember much else. Five stars.

High quality buffet food, good service great atmosphere

A very nice place to stay. Nice beach, with chairs, umbrellas and jet skis, and much more for an additional charge. It is a short walk to the much larger public beach, shops and facilities. Excellent service, food and drinks. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. Great view of the surrounding landscape and water from either side of the tower. They have 4 restaurants in the building from casual to fine. There are many great independent places within walking and short driving distance. The pool has several decks attached, spanning the beach front, with almost 16 hour live or video entertainment, as well as Bars that serve food and drinks. I cannot WAIT to go back!!!

Decent place . DJ needs to actually dj, not just pit a playlist on of mainstream stuff

Had the dinner buffet at Ocean Flame and was blown away by the quality of the food and the service. This isn't your typical buffet! Plenty to choose from and high quality at that. Chefs available to interact with on the buffet. Well worth the price!

For the amount of money you pay I would expect much better service and accommodations. We booked a 2 queen room, and received a king and sofa sleeper, and were told they were sold out so we could not recieve the room we booked. The sofa sleeper mattress appears stained from many years of use and creaks if you move an inch. It is loud and extremely uncomfortable. Might as well sleep on the floor.
The front desk service does not care about any complaints. I'm positive the guest next door with an adjoining door to our room has COVID. They have been hacking 24/7 the last 5 days. Nothing gets cleaned, except maybe the towels. I never seen anyone wiping down surfaces, chairs, cabanas. Mask policy is not enforced. Social distancing is not enforced. There are hand prints we noticed the first day we checked in and they are still the elevators 5 days after we have arrived. Oh, and we found food in the bed, peanuts under the bedding. Imagine if you had a nut allergy and recieved that room. Pool is only open from 9am to 9pm. So forget about morning swims or late night hot tubbing. The food isn't bad but I'm lead to believe they are upcharging drink prices because it is near spring break. Whenever we ask what a drink costs they will tell us one price, take our money and come back and say oh sorry it's actually *insert higher price* if your servers don't know drink prices, put it on a menu. Would not stay here again.

We ate at the Open Flame Buffet. While we have ate there several times before with great experiences, we were somewhat disappointed in the experience this time. The server was grumpy, the buffet was not well attended to and the desserts were not very good.

bad shower, mattress are sunk and old, attendants at front desk are rude, and rooms are very noise because they have a night club on 1st floor. Total disrespect with guests that want to rest. A place to avoid, definitely not recommended.

Shepards always has a good Sunday fun day, for adults the food is great and the drinks are good and very well priced. The only thing that could improve is if they have a drink special focused on doubles. FOR EXAMPLE MAKE IT A DOUBLE FOR 3 MORE DOLLARS.

My BFF took me here for Sunday Brunch for my B'day (today). Very disappointed. The waitress (Jan) had no clue! Had to ask for water. Had to ask for coffee. She did not offer Mimosa. Had to ask for refills, while others with different servers were attended to like they were 'kings' (with a waiter not waitress). When I told her we were done and ready to leave she walked away.....Had to request the check!!! Really? Definately not worth the $26.00 per plate. I will never go there again. I've had better service at Perkin's and Denny's. SMH!

This place is absolutely beautiful! You have everything you need... a beach,pool, entertainment all day, bar with a great happy hour! Even a ...night club! I would definitely go back!

I rented a Segway from this place. It was outrageous. Most of their equipment was not working, they double charged me and I have been calling for two weeks and no one will refund my money. I would never go here again. The service was awful.

The only bar close by with live music drinks and food

Hotel with good facilities, but the truth is a type of bad appearance all badly dressed and dirty hair badly bathed in the image upon arrival at reception, additionally I had a mishap and asked to speak to the manager and what came out to assist me was a snake in human form , where I managed to understand that if that was the manager that could be expected from the receptionist. I will never go back to this hotel again in the area there are hotels where you get what you pay for. I am a chef by profession and I can say with bases that the food was totally disgusting where the fries were made in at least one oil who had more than 20 days and I guarantee that as a professional. Look for any other hotel where they provide you with the service for which they pay

I had an excellent time here they played a variety of great music to dance to and everybody and my sister brothet inlaw had a blast there.Beautiful outside dancefloor and stage band on the beach .Clearwater Florida Tampa.

Love the live music. Food is very good! Always beautiful and great time. We see dolphins all the time. Breath taking sunsets!

The best of everything! My favorite vacation spot. Fantastic live music - all you can eat seafood - close to everything Clear Water Beach Island has to offer. The staff it's great - rooms are beautiful!

Everything about our stay was top notch. Great pool, hot tub, and beach right there.
Our room was nice, clean, and spacious.
The gym was clean and provided what I needed.
My friend and stayed from Thursday to Monday for a girls trip.
There are 3 bars, a restaurant, and a night club. We only ever ate breakfast at the restaurant, which was a Buffett; it had a wide selection and was really good. The bars sold food but mostly fried food. The chicken tacos were decent. The drinks were good and seemed a reasonable price especially for a resort.
A 1-man band usually plays late afternoon at the stage on the beach for a couple of hours followed by a band and dj till about 2am. Tables to sit and eat/ drink. Dance floor. Definitely a party atmosphere. Dance club is more hip-hop.
There is a fantastic Mexican restaurant nearby - 1 to 2 minute walk away; as well as a mini grocery with a lot of fresh food and a liquor store with great pricing. Also a gas station that stays open all night is across the street.
Shepherd's is kid- friendly to a point. There were kids who had a lot of fun at the pool and beach but you weren't surrounded by them. Kids were in the pool till around 9p and since the pool is seperate (for the most part) from the bars/ stage they weren't effected by it. Not much kid stuff to do directly around resort but a 10 minute walk or a few minute free cab ride and you are at the pier where all the action is.

We celebrated my neices bachelorette weekend here. Place is remodeled beautifully. Hotel is very expensive for what you get. They should change the music outside to during the day to Calypso or Island music to make you feel like you are really on vacation. We had an incident with a server, but Candace (food & beverage manager) took care of it right away. Overall, I would like to return.

I wish Tabitha worked for me so I could fire her.. no customer service.. I asked for an ice water never got it.. walked up to the bar (mind you we have a canana $200 minimum) and she still refuses to give me an ice water...unbelievable .. love this place but hate the service this time around

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Terrible customer service! While checking in we were told they didnt have our reservation. We pulled out our printed confirmation(with the confirmation number on it) which did nothing for us. The front desk lady was still really confused. She had some guy named Greg come help and all he did was say "This will tell us nothing" and threw our papers onto the desk. Sure enough 15-20 minutes later he finds our reservation and doesnt even bother to apologize for the inconvience. So RUDE! Once we get to our room we find light bulbs burnt out and the towel rack was falling off the wall. To top it all off the night club makes the room shake till 2am! Safe to say I will be looking for new accommodations for my next visit to clearwater beach!

Great beach bar, service was pretty good for the most part, declined a bit when it started to get busy, but that's to be expected anywhere that gets busy. Ambiance was great, drinks were good and not super pricey. I will definitely be back there soon!

Im from NY and we've been a customer here for over 15 years and I'm now a FL resident!!. My hubby and I along with a few other friends wanted to enjoy a nice dinner and watch the sunset on sunday night... however, theres a $25/pp just to enter their property... not including our dinner and drinks we planned to expense at their resort. The line, crowd was insane.. security detail everywhere. In conclusion, seems as it's become more of a dance club environment in which they're catering to the younger crowd. The staff, the ambience, was definitely most enjoyable, intimate and pleasant before they're fancy renovations. We miss the original shephards.. Sadly,we will not b back. Thx for all the great memories.

Very fun resort, great vibe, nice room's, awesome food and drinks, great service. Loud music until 2am or so, don't stay in the rooms facing the water if you can't handle a little noise.

My first time here and first time staying in Clearwater. LOVE, love, love this place! Absolutely beautiful. Very clean and friendly staff. Loved the private beach and Tiki bar/pool area with the live music! One of my new favorite spots. I will definitely be back!
