A True Remarkable Moment of Excellent Hospitality!
Shangri-La Pudong is truly a very flexible and adaptive luxurious hotel. All respect for the Horizon Lounge Manager, Mr. Kenny who does a great job and he deserves a special thanks for the services he rendered during our stay. He went the extra mile to ensure that our room is comfortable for our stay. Kenny shows great emotional intelligence in his approach and he ensures that all guests are handled with great passion. He leads his team well. He is one of the best Executive Lounge Manager as I perceive and he stands out among his peers from other Shangri-La chain of hotels that I have stayed across Asia. He is distinctively inspirational and persistently embraces Shangri-La's core values of "Humility, Courtesy, Respect, Helpfulness, and Sincerity". He demonstrates great "Commitment to Make a Difference"

This hotel is highly fascinating in terms of both the people and its Horizon Club room. The Horizon Club Lounge offers a great variety of food meant for gourmet tasting.

Lounge Executive Ms. Christy is always polite and agile in her service. She was able to anticipate my needs resiliently. Special thanks to Ms. Ella for her impeccable service and she always ensures that my meals and beverages are served on-time.

I sincerely like to thanks Mr. York and Mr. Calvin for their attention to details and their ever-ready smiles make our experience great. They are proactive and highly responsive even though they have to serve many elite customers during the evening cocktail hours

Ms. Elaine was able to handle my check-out process smoothly and swiftly. She demonstrated a truly personalized service by ushering us to the lift and send us off with the heartfelt greetings.

I am already planning to ear-mark Shangri-La Pudong as "we must-stay hotel" on our next visit to Shanghai.

Upon entering room 2812, there was an overwhelming cigarette odor. I am not sure if the hotel had actually verified the room is free from cigarette smell before letting the guests check in. Perhaps the hotel can think about a process on how to check for this in the future.

In the twin room, from the back of the bed, it is obvious that this should be a single bed double room, but it is hard to put two single beds, the bed completely exceeds the size of the bed, and two single people The distance between the beds is only about ten centimeters, which is quite crowded. A five-star hotel makes people feel very uncomfortable and feels that the room is hard to plug out.

I literally stay only in the Shangri-la hotel system whenever I am in Beijing or Shanghai or Hong Kong. The services in Pu Dong Shangri-la was totally surprise to me and are really bad compare to previous years. Most of the staff are lack of proper training.

from the transfers, to the room, the breakfast buffets and the concierge and front desk service ... everything was above par and definitely world class. as a stranger in china who is unfamiliar with mandarin, being able to converse with the staff makes requests easier and unstressful. the view from our room was no less than spectacular. my wife loved the fruits in the room while the kids loved the culinary variety of the buffet. what was a welcome surprise was the transfer provided to Disney Shanghai where the drivers made sure that they were on time at the same time visible enough to locate us during the pickup. small things like the hot towel given during the trip puts the establishment way above others. fondly appreciated also was the impecable turnover of requests from one employee to another.

the only downside i had was the last day when the hotel was really busy because of a convention. waiting a whole ten minutes just to wait for the elevator seemed too long an experience.

all said, i thank the shangri-la for providing me and my family the opportunity to enjoy shanghai all the more.

Home meals but also international food for breakfast, dinner and lunch.

Friendly staff with a good service.
They speak chinese, french and english language.

They also have a concierge limo- and carservice.

The hotel is in the centre of Shanghai in the pudongside.
You need les then 5 minutes to the famous Bound and a fiew minuts more go all skyscrapers around.

You should make a reservation because it is a famous restaurant.

We will come again. Definitely.

Hotel has got two towers. The new one that my work colleagues stayed in is absolutely gorgeous with amazing view towards the city. I stayed in the old tower, that was not so great comparing to the price I paid. Old tower has clearly seen better days and many items simply look old and used out.

Don't get me wrong, hotel is amazing. Just for the price of >1000RMB i know you can get better standard nearby.

Also, I believe I got rather expensive deal with no breakfast. Didn't want to complain, but bit disappointed though.

Swimming pool, sauna and gym in the old tower is still a very good good experience with stunning Bund view.

Although I only stayed for one night, but my experience was bad, it was not my first time stay with you. But overall experience was bad.
Recent stay, the first room only 3 sockets available for charging in the room and 2 could not use...called the room service and the lady told me to "rent" portable charger...so this is the five star hotel service...went to front desk asked same question...they were willing to switch a room for me even it was late night, but I need to charge all my devises, got to change a room...after switching to a new room, my father told me the bathroom towels surface cover with long hair...no one can tell if its fresh and clean towels or not...and again this is a five-star hotel...when I ready to check out, I mentioned all my issues to the front desk lady Ms. Fang ( she only said sorry and will let manager know...I used my dining credit and there was a balance about 34 RMB (if my memory is correct) I asked if she could waive it, she said no because it takes time to process to different departments... really my whole stay experience is awful...I never want to back ever again. I asked to talk to the manger, Ulrich Jablonka who send me a welcome email, but the lady told me, Ulrich Jablonka was off that day, and other manager was too busy to talk to me... Thanks Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai I would never come back again.

The buffet in Yi Cafe was a bad experience on saturday evening (12-1-19) again. Cold food and Sushi was trown on the plate like in prison. This is not the first time this happened so if there is one thing you can improve is the buffet.

This is your typical Shangri-la hotel experience - a grand hotel with old school rooms (they feel retro without being actually old). A good size bathroom, king size bed (though the pillows are too soft) and your typical conveniences (Nescafe pod coffee maker etc.). The gym is a good size but a tad warm in summer. Buffet breakfast has plenty of western and Asian options.

The overall quality of the hotel is nothing to be discerning. The interior design is very good from decoration to craftsmanship. The style is fresh and elegant, suitable for business trips or vacations. The staff service attitude is active, friendly, and feels very much when staying. The room order is good, the hotel buffet breakfast is rich and fresh. A few small details can be noted, first of all because of the environmental awareness advocated by the hotel itself, the floor heating of the guest room should be considered for switching, especially when the room is overheated, the air conditioner must be turned on to cool down. Secondly, the air freshener in the lobby is too strong. It always sneezes when entering and leaving. It is recommended to use less stimulating products. Everything is perfect except Jing'an.

Pudong Shangri la has always been my fav hotel over the years. Can't help but noticed it's decline. Service levels are acceptable but very 'cold' and transactional compared to Shangri la in Xian and Beijing. For example, Xian and Beijing provided meet and greet at the lobby and escorted to the room for checkin. No such things at Pudong anymore.

Check in: Below average. NO information provided regarding to my stay, including benefits for FHR, lounge, breakfast. No FHR welcome letter/benefit list and feedback form.
Room: Although a little bit dated, I still found the suite excellent.
Breakfast: A chaos! Food was not fresh either.
Restaurant on 36/F: Food was above average. Staff was not too friendly. They were rude when I asked about a la carte menu.
Lobby Bar: Food was fine, but staff attitude was not. Not friend'y at all, and it's extremely difficult to find someone to take order or check the bill.
Check out: Efficient.

This was my first time staying at a Shangri-La hotel and I was very impressed with my experience. Our stay on the Horizons Club level was emarkable. I truly believe staff are the key ingredient to an amazing stay, and the team at the Shangri-La Pudong (especially the Horizons Club Manager Kenny) made for an unforgettable stay. Many thanks!

overall stay was fine but room service was very disappointing. Consistent delays in delivering food. I was told on 2 occasions that the food will be delivered in 30-45 minutes and took over 1.5 hours on one occasion, and on the 2nd I ended up cancelling my order.

Overly crowded, front desk check in and check out were slow. Service staff at the hotel were cold in attitude was cold throughout our stay and without any service greetings. It could over work because of the over croweded guests in the hotel during CNY

The locations is really good with 5 steps walk away to Zhengda Mall and many other shopping mall at Lujiazui. I like the corridor decoration very much, the chandeliers, the light-blue wall and the carpet, are so elegant. The beef pie at the lobby-cafe is delicious. Recommend to have a drink at the Bar on 36th floor, the night view is amazing.

There appeared to be a shortage of staff in the Horizon Club with no-one at the desk on check-in, and later when we wanted to change rooms due to faulty/lack of lighting in the allocated room.
The employees that were there were charming but inexperienced and not conscious there were guests in the room at breakfast requiring service.
All the above excludes Judy who for many years has been a stalwart of the club and really the only thing holding it together!

It seems like there are always lines. Why don'y you improve the problem of your system?
The room was not that clean. Shower handle was not fixed (the cover was off).
over all, small things were little off...This is like a motel with very good interior and building.
It was not so good communication with several staffs too. (reception, restaurant, etc), and it was not expectation from Shangri-La hotel...
Lets say, I never understood that when I asked Oolong tea, they always brought Chamomile. That was not one time, but everyday with different restaurant staff. Even if my Chinese friend ordered for me, another Chamomile. they should tell me they don't have Oolong tea, and bringing Chamomile that I do not like.
Someone made me anxious because I could not communicate with them, and when I mentioned to the reception, they send me a note saying "it was miscommunication". Yes, it was, and I know it. Please do not send me a note if you explain in detail why that happened or if you don't know why it happened, apology could have been nicer to made me nervous.

The area is vast, divided into east and west wings, Pujiang Building in the west wing and the east wing of Zijin Tower. Location is good, located in the financial center of Lujiazui, close to Jiangbin, next to Zhongzheng Square, not far from the Oriental Pearl Tower.

About taxi, I would like to know the distance from the hotel to Pudong Airport and the standard of the price. The taxi I arranged at the hotel on the other day took 49 minutes (13:50 to 14:39) and 275 yuan with a traveling distance of 74.5KM. I did not go around in particular, and I did not have much traffic jam.

We would like to thank your staff Tommy Ma for helping us with an upgrade of the room. The room itself was really exceptional, easily one of the nicest, if not the nicest my friend and I has stayed in, with 2 toilets and an extremely huge bathroom. The room service was also fast and thorough, and for that we are very grateful.
However, we were disappointed by the inability of the door staff/valet to help us call for a taxi. We thought that a taxi could be easily arranged at the conciege or by the staff at the door as it says online taxi service queue. Unfortunately, we were not assisted throughout our 2 days stay with taxi booking, and had to wait outside for a cab, which can be difficult to come by since most use Didi, but as foreigners we do not have access to.
The breakfast spread, though has a good selection, was also lacking in terms of not being kept warm enough for the cooked food section, the scrambled eggs and omelette were also too dry and is the worst I have ever eaten in hotel breakfast. Isn't scrambled egg suppose to be moist, with butter and cream, not dry and crumbly? My friend and I therefore enjoyed the salad and fruits section the most, which is unfortunate.
Overall, we did enjoy our stay at Shangri La but felt that there's still some services that are lacking, that my friend and I were expecting from a five-star hotel at Shanghai's central business district. I am hoping that our next stay here will be more fuzz free with the taxi booking (which is a very basic service, one that even a hotel we did not stay in helped us with during our travels in Shanghai) and better breakfast food.

Excellent location friendly staff and cozy accommodation. Breakfast is outstanding with so much variety, rarely seen in any hotel. Room service is excellent and maintenance staff is also quite efficient. Overall my experience was great.

Great stay, great service, great food. But on top of all before checking out I wasn't feeling well due to a long drive from Guanzhou to Shanghai but Alice Xiong worked very hard to extend our check out to 2PM and thanks to her it was my best experience and I will definitely come back!!

Another very uncomfortable thing is that when I was taking a bath, the room service person opened the door and asked if I needed a turndown service. The experience was very poor and I felt very unsafe.

Good location, great view of the Bund. But rooms are dated, and we ended up in a room with 2 single beds for 3 people even though I had requested for a king-sized bed. Sadly there are no facilities for children, and the front lobby porter was unable (seemingly unwilling even) to get us a taxi on both days that we were there, and it is a very long walk (for kids) from the River Wing to the nearest Metro station. Good value for the view, not recommended for families with young children.

Beautiful room and friendly staff in the horizon club but the reception staff and concierge need some training. We queued twice as our room wasn't ready and only after being sent twice by the concierge to reception did they tell us to check in at the club and we specifically asked and they said no queue downstairs.

This is my first time staying at the Shangri-La Hotel, which was originally directed at the invincible Bund view of the hotel. I didn't expect the hotel's service to impress me. After arriving at the hotel, Miss Sky Qin, the front desk lady, told me that I was waiting because I was full yesterday. At the same time, she also saw that I was in a hurry to check in and arranged the room for me as soon as possible. When I left, I was in a hurry and pulled down 1700 yuan in cash at the front desk. Awesome stay. It was all perfect. The location is great. Direct access to the water front in Pudong and all the F&B outlets there. The concierge staff was great in booking a tour to Suzhou and Zhouzhuang and also providing suggestions of what to do over the weekend and also the neighbourhood.
One issue I had was that most of the staff was not able to communicate in English and it was a struggle quite a few times. Considering a high number of foreigners coming and staying at the hotel, it would be good to have staff with more broader language skills.
