Very terrible stay experience. Asked for the dental kits and ice via calling hotel service line, however those requests can not be delivered more than 2 hours !! I had to call the third time to push and complain this. After a while, one duty manager came and instead of admitting the service errors, he just tinkered with the problem perfunctorily. helpless... Additionally, always only 2 staff do the check-in and check-out at the reception, no matter how long the waiting line is... room rate and service fee are not cheap, but the service offered is so cheap and low level...ridiculous...

One of the best hotel...has connectivity to super brand make and the ifc mall ..the Disney showroom is just a mile away ...n the view from the hotel is mind blowing
My sleep was affected by the noise coming from the roof and the hotel should fix the problem quickly.
I want to commend Mr Kenny Ooi from Horizon Club for taking the necessary and fast action to change my room to the other floor where I did not have to suffer sleepless night.
I have always been very pleased with the excellent service I received from him and his team comprising Elaine, Leah, Hilda, Whitney, Henry, Aimee, Jennifer, Olivia, Lin, Lily, Goldie and Jolie.
The consistent efforts to detailed attention, professionalism, ability and leadership of Mr Ooi exceed my expectations.
Such a commitment to great customer service is to be commended.

The room was too old and the door lock was broken. Before I checked out in the morning, I was trapped in the room for nearly an hour. I had to go to the room before I left the room. I didn t want to have breakfast.
The waiting time for staying was too long, the room was not cleaned, there was an open used toothpaste in the bathroom cup, and there was already a shower gel on the counter next to the bathtub.
I had a beautiful stay at Pudong Shangri la for my business trip. I had the best views from the hotel room. Shopping and restaurants is just minutes away. I had to mention about Sunday brunch, which was the best brunch I ever had. Hotel staff are friendly and friendly but little training required to improve the customer relationship. Overall experience is good and satisfactory for the price.
Everything has fit. You will definitely not regret the stay.
Staying at the front desk is extremely inefficient and I have seen the least efficient Shangri-La.

This is my n(th) stay at Pudong Shangri-la this year. Obviously with frequent visits, it is pretty hard to impress a lot. But the hostpitality of the staff, in particular Jasmine Chi, surprised me still. The warm welcome, efficiency and accomodating arrangements was lovely... so i am looking forward for another stay next week.
Overall pleasant stay at the River wing horizon club room with bund view. Although the room is a little bit old but the view from the room was amazing.

Only 2 staff could speak English
They only left 2 coffee pods for coffee in a suite for 2 people and did not bring anymore despite asking.

At the coffee shop down stairs we ordered 2 coffees as we were waiting for driver to come and 30
Minutes later the driver arrived for airport and we still had not been served our coffees .
Many more issues that take too long to write, every single day of the week that we stayed there, eg at one of the restaurants of the hotel, they spilt a glass of red wine, they did not know how to serve wine, not even open the bottle. And these were over one thousand dollar bottles, not some cheap Chinese wine.
An extremely poor experience, I will never recommend and as I m an American Express Centurion member I will also make these complaints to Amex as well
Overall experience was pretty good. Two disappoint points:
1. there was a welcome letter in the room but the customer name on the letter was not me. And some one took the letter away without apologies
2. the doorman never opened the door for us...
Breakfast place is too crowded to find a seat and also wait for a long time to get noodle soup or eggs; Some Food did not look that fresh. Room is good and price is reasonable in comparison to other 5 stars hotel in Pudong...
I had a wonderful stay, it could have been better, then again bearing in mind a lot of dignitary were at the hotel which caused some inconvenience moving around . I would definitely stay here again.

The Horizon Club Manager Ms Judy has always managed to make our stay a pleasant one. This time we are travelling with our family and they enjoyed the Shangri-La hospitality at Pudong very well!

It was a wonderful experience waking up to the beautiful view of the river during my stay. The cuisine selections in the various restaurants was plentiful and delicious. The desk staff knowledgeable and friendly.
Only disappointment was the slow , unfriendly and poor service in the Jade Bar on the 36th floor which is very sad because the views from that bar are gorgeous.
Best hotel to stay in Pudong area. Halal food is available on 2nd floor restaurant with authentic Indian and Lebanese chefs.
Hotel service is excellent, staff are helpful and caring. But the room fixtures and furniture are getting really old, the carpet floor is not flat and the water always leak out from the shower room which made the bathroom like flooding after taking a shower. The bathtub has some cracks and looks really bad and dirty so I couldn't use it. These kind of fixtures and furniture definitely do not meet the expected standard to be offered by Shangri-La Hotel!
Very good as always. Fitness club staff could be more courteous when I'm in the gym with my son. I understand the rules, but I'm responsible for him, and there was no one else there that could be disturbed/offended.
And why is there a 16 year age limit for the jacuzzi?
It was a fantastic experience, Shangrila never disappointed me. Amazing views, very nice staff, super comfie bed. If i have to give a little piece of advice, if... cleaning service could help tidy up the cloths, put them in one place or fold them a bit, it would be awesome.

The room was a bit smelly, the equipment in the room was poor and old, such as no coffee machine, the bed was too small.

Great hotel but had a corporate feel to it from the decor, staff uniforms etc. Breakfast buffet, although there was a load of variety, it was all pretty generic with nothing standout. Massage I had was excellent. Pool and change room very nice and not at all busy. Rooms large with great views over Pudong area. Bathrooms also spacious. Decor in rooms again not so nice. Didn't feel luxurious at all. More like a jazzed up holiday inn. Very close to a luxury shopping mall with a supermarket in the basement with a lot if western items. Also close to another mall with a lot if really good restaurants in it and an arcade for kids. I prefer smaller hotels with comfier more design led environments. I would definitely stay there again, but visually not so appealing.
Stay is not awful but should not be considered a 5 star hotel. There are much better places to stay in the area.
Things that could be changed:
1) Check In seems to take 20 minutes per person and insufficient staff on the counter.
2) Rooms are clean and fine, but if being picky you could say dated.
3) Breakfast is a shambles and this is my main problem with the hotel. Don t bother coming at 8am because you won t find a seat. If you do you ll be shown to some dark seated corner in the bowels of the hotel devoid of sunlight and then have to fight for your food. You ll be pushed out the way whilst you re waiting for your eggs and the staff will do nothing to help. Orange juice is from concentrate. If you like the idea of a Chinese food court but want to pay top notch prices then this place is a go!
overall good as always except:
1) upon arrival, the mobile check-in desk has no one on duty and need to line up at the reception area to get room key. This is not good experience in particular as Diamond member, I highly supported the mobile check in policy.
2) at hotel executive lounge, the lock for rest room seemed not working which made the moment quite embarrassing when others also tried to get in. Suggested to check the facility.

Everything was great! The staff people were polite and friendly everywhere in the hotel, Rita in the gift shop, the ladies and gents at registration, the concierge guys, the bellmen, the breakfast restaurant staff, the Exchange Grill staff, and the exercise area staff. The room was very clean and comfortable, nicely furnished. The exercise equipment was very good and I enjoyed laps in the pool, steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi every morning.
(The only thing I regret is leaving my phone charger in room 1809, but that was my fault.)
Great hotel, great location, great buffet. A little dated rooms, but always clean and comfortable every time I stay here.
The room is spacious and with good view. The shower cubicle door is bad design, unable to close fully. Water splash through the door gaps onto the floor during bathing. Slipped on the toilet floor and knocked my head onto the bath tub.
I was there for 3 weeks and it was amazing for all the days. They have very large buffet breakfast and extremely humble staffs.
I love the scent of Shangri-la. It's the same in all Shangri-la hotels I've been to.
Pudong Shang is clean, comfortable, and the staffs are accommodating.

Due to flight delay, I checked in the Hotel on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at around 1845, although I had a dinner appointment at Super Brand Mall at 1830. Not having my orientation, I planned to take a taxi there, but a hotel staff (Ross Luo) kindly walked me to the exit, leading to my destination which was in fact next to the Hotel. When I left the Hotel on Saturday, July 21, 2018, its staff (Eiji Liu) at the exit, volunteered to talk to my hired car driver on the phone, directing him to pick me up swiftly, saving my time and effort!
Very nice luxurious hotel with all the amenities. I enjoyed my stay.
Near Huangpu River, 2 buildings, has a sushi restaurant.
My second home in Shanghai. The staff are friendly and attentive, the rooms and amenities perfectly appointed. Sat back on the Huangpu, you can watch the boats lazily go by from the Horizon Lounge, whilst being able to take a 15 min subway into the heart of city. Warmly recommend. P
I stay since 4 years very frequently in Shangri-La Shanghai Pudong; it is always a coming home, when I drop in at Westwing Entrance; during all the years it a very warmly wellcome and the privat Check-In on the 21th floor at Horizon Club is wonderfull experience every time. The whole staff is know to me and they welcome me very warmly every time. The rooms they handed over to me are always to my best confidence. Congratulations to your hotel and to your staff. Hope to stay there very soon.

The breakfast was amazing. The rooms were terrific. The lobby was breathtaking. The entire experience felt very posh and we felt cared for. The staff was extremely friendly.
Slightly disappointed in my experience here. For the money I expected a really first class experience. I stayed in the new tower but it looked like it hadn't been rennovated since it was constructed. The rest of my family was located in the old tower, but that had been rennovated and looked much brighter and nicer.
Couple of items were not working in my room, primarily the lights, and they were not fixed eventhough they said they were going to. This was annoying because I was actually doing some work on my computer and the additional light would have been really handy.
Pool amenities in the new tower was awesome and so was the jacuzzi area.
The room is almost perfect.Clean and immaculate. You will not miss that floral fragrance once you enter the lobby. The service is warmth. The restaurant YCafe would afford you wide choices of international cuisine at breakfast.
The after dinner drinks at the 24th floor food outlet will not only afford you the breathtaking view of Shanghai at night but the best brewed coffee in town.
Altogether..my exoerience can be summarized in one word.SAVVY!
Very good and pleasant experience overall. Stayed here for a short night s rest when my late night flight at PVG was cancelled due to a typhoon. Small gripes: had to call room service twice when no one could take my order. Also breakfast was delivered about 10 minutes late.
I asked 3 times for my room to be cleaned. One time while the housekeeper was standing at my door. I wrote down come at 1730...5 minutes more. Saw her supervisor at the elevator and asked again. Returned to the room and room not made up.

Everything was nice especially the friendly check in colleague who placed us in a beautiful room. The housekeeping attendant was very attentive to setup the bed with 1 duvet and 1 blanket when she notice we were using both separately on the king bed. Happy to stay here and loved the location
Had a business conference here in this Hotel. Good hospitality and arrangements. They served completely indian food. Hotel located very near to metro and markets. Hotel have a mall attached to it.

If you want comfort, and attempts to make westerners feel very welcome, this is a great place. Location is hard to bet - easy walking from the ferry across the river, the Aurora art museum, and the metro. Super helpful staff. I was on the 15th floor of the new tower, with a large room; nice shower; and spectacular city view. Good breakfast restaurant, with a dozen or so stations to pick from. (More common out side the USA, but this one was quite well done.) The downstairs bar wasn't great (the Halloween decoration didn't help), but the other restaurants seemed good, although the catered food for our 800-person conference was disappointingly bland.
This is a hotel I stay at no matter where I go in the world, did in china, sidney australia and other places, always top notch, definately recommend.
From the greeting at the airport and transportation to the hotel to the check-in, to the quality of the room, to the food and overall service, I was very pleased with my stay. The location of the hotel is of course very nice with its proximity to the river and view of The Bund. The gym and other facilities are excellent. The Shangri-La Team members were helpful. The room rates are comparable to other international hotels in the area.
