We are always greeted with warm welcome and smiles from the front desk receptionists. The bellboys are also very helpful with our luggages. Thanks to Mr. Richan Xu for helping me to solve my iPad problem and make sure I had a great layover during my stay with Pudong Shangri-La.

Amazing stay in Shanghai with polite, proactive and well considering staff in horizon lounge. They all took care our stay very well with good appointed room and great services in using lounge and meeting room. The Malaysian Mgr is very talkative and friendly. He gave us great advices to travel around the city. Once again, millions thank for having a memorial trip in Putong Shangri-la Hotel.

We stayed at this hotel with some other business customers. The staff is amazing and very helpful for any requests. I highly recommend the restaurant on the 2nd floor for their breakfast buffet. Only complaint is that the all the hotel bars close down pretty early so it's difficult to get a night cap.

Check in/out was smooth. 1st room's bathroom flooded after use. I called to ask for help and a room change but no one got back to me. After I showed the video of the flooded toilet was I able to change rooms. Was thankful for a bigger room but it smelt like smoke.

At the lounge, one of my colleagues (a pianist) wanted to see if he could play with the lounge pianist in her last song in the evening but was flatly rejected by the waitresses who didn't want to get in trouble with mgmt.

Please thank Mia Ma and the gift shop staff for wrapping two gifts that I brought with me on my visit to Shanghai. We used Google Translate to figure it out and they delivered the gifts to my room due to a business dinner that conflicted with the 9pm closing time. I very much enjoyed my week long stay at your hotel.

Got a room without a proper shower, room was smelly and the view was towards a building. The frontdesk was not willing to change the room, no support was offered when I complained.

Firstly, the hotel gave the limo driver the wrong pickup venue of toy story hotel instead of Disney Hotel which we were staying at which I stated very clearly when I book the room and in my email to hotel. It is not very nice to wait for the driver in the cold for so Long with a baby. The driver showed me the message that the hotel send to him to pickup at toy story hotel instead of Disney hotel. It is a big mistake on the part of your hotel. Secondly, I was not given the basic letter or information on what our suite comprises and the time of breakfast etc. I had to ask for it at 29th floor myself. This should be standard information offered upon checking in but it was not. Thirdly, our suite room door leading to bedroom cannot be closed at all and we have to get the maintenance guy to come repair it and after it can be closed but still cannot be locked. Fourth, the rain shower keeps dripping icy cold water down even when we switch to hand shower mode. This is very annoying as when I bathe my 1 year old baby Daughter, she cries when the icy cold water drips on her. Fifth, after paying 1000rmb plus for airport transfer, we would expect better service from the driver. I told him in Chinese the minute we enter the car to start our journey to airport that our flight is Singapore airlines at terminal 2. He drop us at the wrong end of terminal 2. When we stopped we asked him how come the signs don t have Singapore airlines. He insisted that it s just inside where he drop us. The signs to the left or right of where he dropped us doesn t have Singapore airlines at all. When we entered the terminal we had to push so many luggages and bring our 2 kids and walk to the opposite end of terminal 2 because the inconsiderate driver dropped us at the wrong end. This is the kind of service that we paid so much for and Shangri-La provided us with. Lastly, every Shangri-La hotel we stayed in since my 9 year old Son was a baby, he will be given a signature Shang bear but this round none was given to my Son or my Daughter and we forgot to ask until we reached home in Singapore and my Son saw his collection of Shang bears and ask why he or his Sister were not given this round. Overall, we had a rather pleasant stay as the cake and flowers on my birthday was a nice surprise minus these few hiccups but for the premium price we paid, these hiccups should not have happened at all.

The reason I am loyal to Shangri-La is because of the excellent lounge staff, especially Pudong Shangri-La Horizon Lounge. It is definitely the best lounge ever among so many different Shangri-La hotels and those first tier hotels I have stayed.

All the staffs are super nice, patient, helpful and considerate, they are, Henry, Hilda, Whitney, Elaine, Leah, Felix, Zoey, Sharon and Aurora, apology if I missed anyone s name here. Every time when I need any help, they always try their best to go above and beyond. Think as client thinks as always. Their professional and friendliness always make me feel warm and relax to stay here. They deserve award and appreciation!

I used to tease their manager Kenny Ooi, all the staffs in this lounge, look alike, he must has his preferences for girls and boys. I would say it is the Horizon Shangri-La's style, Kenny s style , that is the beautiful warm smile, from the bottom of the heart, feeling like the breeze from the spring. Even those newly joined interns, they are affected by the style. Please give all the credit to this great manager Kenny!

This is one of the oldest and greatest hotels in Pudong and everything about it screams the essence of Shangri-La. The staff was super attentive and approachable, the service was timely and effective, and the facility (especially the river view) was definitely wonderful. Enjoyed the 36-floor bar and breakfast.

My wife & I enjoyed very much in this hotel. View from our room was spectacular. The room was very comfortable & well maintained.
The food served during breakfast & evening cocktails at the Horizon Club lounge were delicious. Thanks to Chef Johnny who had created many local tasty dishes & enlightened us with the local cultural places of interests. We were served well with your lounge executives Ms Monica & Ms Annie. Ms Monica was very caring & sincere in her approach towards the customer service. She was very proactive and always very attentive towards our dining needs during the evening cocktail hours. She learned fast in identifying customer s needs & was dynamic in delivering the required services.
Ms Annie was very helpful during our breakfast. She was gentle with her approach & able to recommend us with few good dishes from the menu. Ms Annie was very empathetic towards her customers & she engaged active listening skills well.

The concierge staff were very helpful. They were very knowledgeable towards the local places & be able to provide some historical details.

I was looking to buy some door hinges for my bathroom renovations at home. I needed to find a hardware store that could provide me with what I needed.
I was lucky enough have Frank ZHI help me
Frank looked up all the available places for me and then when he realized that no one spoke English, he went out of his way to write down what I needed in Chinese. He also wrote down the address for me so that I could show the taxi driver. Frank is an asset to your hotel to say the least! Please thank him for me.

The Shanghai Shangri-la has an amazing view of the city. The rooms are big. It provides basic amenities that all hotels have I.E. Slippers and etc. Clean and comfortable. One suggestion is that they should add a power plug beside the bed because its hard to reach one's phone while charging if the only plug is by the desk.

The Exchange Bar has a lot of potential. But, I'm sorry to say my experience there was quite poor. The staff was lackluster and beverage choices were limited. Not instep with the Shangri-La level of service I have become accustomed to.

Shower too small, shower head spray is very poor. It's not up to 5 Star hotel. Breakfast at 29floor lounge is very limited selections. Went to 2nd floor for breakfast, but the service is very poor. Check out staff standing around doing nothing while 6 customers waiting for checkout. Overall not up to 5 star hotel level.

I especially want to give recognition to a guy call "Anthony" at the front desk. He's super attentive to client's needs and concerns. Example include making sure the rooms are suitable for client when they came in very late at night and needing to get up ready to work the next day. 5 star service by Anthony!

Every time I stay in Shangri-La, I have a very good experience. The staff are very warm and thoughtful. Here I would like to mention Ye Yanying from the service center. Every time I can feel her thoughtful butler service, let me every time. Going out is as warm as at home.

My stays in your hotel are quite long - usually more than 7 nights. The staff in the lobby are always friendly and I feel very welcome.
At breakfast, the greeters often remember me and my coffee order which is nice

Excellent facilities, location and hospitality. The band view on the floor above the club floor is a superb view spot where there is no blockage of view and you can overlook the Bund.
The breakfast on the club floor has a specially selected menu, and the morning buffet on the general floor is so full that you can not eat everything, which is another great attraction.

This Shangri-La is immaculately maintained and their customer service is attentive and all encompassing. I stay here often on business and the rooms are great places of relaxation, to include motorized blinds to help you get on a normal sleep schedule after traveling for 12+ hours. The showers water pressure is also top notch, and the rain shower has a nice flow as well. The on-site restaurants are great and their concierge service also does a great job suggesting activities as well.

My experience did not meet my high expectations for staying at a Shangri-La Hotel. I was put into a wheelchair accessible room that did not have a shower, it only had a bathtub. I was not informed of this at check-in. I raised the issue with the front desk the first night of my stay, and was told that if I stay at the hotel another time they would see if some accommodation could be made. There were other issues relating to the toilet not flushing very well, which I assume is just a reflection of the age of the building. Also, I had breakfast at the Yi Cafe each of the two days of my stay. The selection was extensive and the food I had was quite good. However, the napkin at my place setting had stains on both days. Also, part of the lid of the tea pot on my second morning had melted off. It was not the experience, or the level of quality, that I have come to expect from previous stays at Shangri-La Hotels.

The lounge was understaffed and took an extremely long time for food to arrive once ordered. The rooms at this property are getting to the end of their life expectancy. The room as not well kept, the floor of the shower was dirty and the carpet within the room was spotted. Ice bucket was never filled (from start of visit to end). Water was not refreshed on two days. My expectations were not met.

The hotel is magnificent! Beds are comfortable. Kind staff. But one in particular went out of her way to help me. Dolly at the front desk. I was having issues with my bank card and had no funds and she helped me get in contact with my bank. Her sweet smile and caring persona helped calm me. I was able to find a solution and have a great stay. Thank you so much Dolly!

Aside from that, I highly recommend the buffet breakfast.

Awesome service, awesome location, and great views of the Bund ( ). Rooms itself are 4 star in my opinion, nothing too spectacular. Grand tower may be different.

Many restaurants in the hotel also. Yi Cafe is a pricey buffet, but very very good, reminds me of Vegas. Great to go if you want a break from Chinese food and you are a foreigner.

Also next to the Super Brand Mall, large indoor shopping mall with many stores. Also has a convenience mart and grocery store there if you need anything.

Had a horrible experience with room service both nights of my stay. First night I was told 45 minutes for room service. Food didn t come for 1 hour. Then they forgot condiments fir my hamburger and took 30 mins to bring it. Do my burger was then cold. Second night I was again told 45 minutes. Food didn t come for 1 hour 15 minutes.

I stayed a few nights, got a complimentary upgrade via Amex Fine Hotel and Resorts, also have a jade Status with Shangri-La , was given $125 USD voucher to use on drinks and food, staff all very friendly and helpful. Location is pretty amazing if it s your first time in Shanghai, really do recommend staying here !

I really appreciate the assistance provided to me by Any Li (maybe it was Amy Li) at the main reception desk. I had a problem with my booking - it should have been booked for two nights but there was some kind of computer error at the time of my checkin so I was asked to come back to the reception desk in the morning to confirm the second night s stay. However, on the second day, the staff kept quoting me different prices or said that I would have to change my room type. Simply put, unlike the other hotel staff who tried to assist me, Any/Amy Li was patient, listened to my opinion, asked questions to show that she fully understood, and reassured me that she would make sure everything is put in order. She immediately telephoned the gentleman who had checked me in the previous night and resolved the matter. I am very thankful that Any/Amy Li took initiative and demonstrated full accountability. I believe that she is an example other staff can learn from. Excellent communication skills and accountability are extremely valuable. On another note, at 11:00 am, there were only two receptionists working at the front desk. I got tired of waiting in line and had to come back another two times.

When I turned on the air conditioning, the cigarettes smell started to come in. In the middle of the night, I couldn't breathe because of such heavy cigarette smell and started to feel nauseous. I was on the non-smoking 15th floor. You really have to punish the guests who violate the non-smoking policy. I don't pay 5-star price to stay in a hotel that has a 1-star room condition.
Also I called the operator to ask what time the Chinese restaurant closes, and she said 10:30pm. I went down at 9:55pm, walked 10 min to the Chinese restaurant, only to find out that they are closing, thus wasting another 10 min walk back up to the room to order room service. Why would your own staff not know the correct hours, and even if not sure, then don't tell me the wrong information!!!!
Also, it's very weird the check-in desk is 5 min walk away from the elevators to the room.
