Wonder customer service, something that is not always present in hotels in China. Love everything about your hotel. Just wish you would put some sled-service ice machines on the floors, or at least in a few places where guests could help themselves to ice.
The facilities in all aspects are too old, the choice of breakfast is very small, and the quality is extremely average.

Every time I stay at the Pudong Shangri-La I enjoy the wonderful breakfast buffet. The staff at the hotel is wonderful! I love this hotel!

I'm very happy and shangrila hotel is very good and warm personally
the service at the chinese restaurant (ground floor), was absolutely awful, I asked for a glass of water for my gf 4 times and they handed me the bill and still didn't give my gf the water. The staff were chatting and didn't want to serve. When I confronted the manager (female) she was not sorry and kept making excuses.... I would not recommend anyone to go there, and as a jade member of the golden circle, this has been by far the worst exp for me.
The hotel room was fair, the duvet and pillow had awful smell, felt like they were used and not washed for a year, smell like sweat...
Overall, this was certainly not a 5* hotel exp and yet I paid full price to stay and at the restaurant, the managed offered a discount for the food and bill, I rejected and said consider that as your tips, very poor!
I do not want to dine or stay there ever again and no one else should either!
This is a very friendly hotel that isn't super overpriced. If you are above the 15th floor you are going to have a beautiful view of Shanghai no matter which direction you face.

I have to be honest. I haven't stayed here, but the design and river view really soaked me into this place and I ended up chilling in the bar. Absolutely relaxing ambiente in such a busy city.
I would especially like to thank Richan Xu at reception for his kindness when I checked in. After such a long journey it is always appreciated to be welcomed by such wonderful people like Richan who want your stay to be a pleasant one.
Overall experience was good but the interior hardware is a bit outdated compared with other Shangri-La / Kerry hotels in Shanghai and Beijing. Also no idea why CNBC was removed from TV channels few years ago while other Shangri-La and Kerry hotels have.
The service that I received as well as the professional conduct and willingness to help customers of the stadff is excellent. Food is great, too! For me, it is A+++ to the hotel!

The stay was very pleasant. Check-in, Jessica Pan in Pujiang Tower helped me with the procedures and introduced the various benefits of FHR. It was not only very good, but also very efficient and professional. The experience at Jade 36 is also great. Anemone and Merve are very professional, not only very careful about each dish, but also recommend a great match for us.

This was by far my absolute worst Shangri La experience of my life. It started already from the moment I arrived until I left. When my driver pulled up to the entrance absolutely nobody seemed to care, nobody opened the car door, nobody was there to take my luggage, nobody opened the door to the hotel and there was a long line of people waiting to get to the reception for check in, something I have never ever seen at a Shangri La before. When I finally made it to a receptionist she started to type on her laptop. After standing and waiting for 20 minutes I asked her what in the world she was doing. She mumbled something like "we were fully booked yesterday and I am still trying to find a room for you." Needless to say that I had booked way in advance.
Normally I would arrive at the Shangri La and being a member I would simply give my signature on the screen, get my key and would be accompanied to my room within 2 minutes. After another 10 minutes I had it and asked her to call the manager. She was now on the phone for 5 minutes and eventually a young man came and introduced himself as the manager. I told him that I had arrived 40 minutes ago and was still standing at the reception waiting for my room key. All he had to say was "sorry". No explanation, no help, no offer. He cleary must have seen the long line of people waiting and the line just kept growing. Again, he didn t seem to care and didn t call for more staff to come to the reception.
Finally he came up with the offer for a breakfast for free. I finally got a room key and went to my room. When I opened the room I couldn't believe it. The room had a horrible smell of smoke. Obviously the guest before me had smoked in the room, of course in a non smoking room. Again I called the room service. Instead of offering me immediately another room, a lady came with a spray. That's all. When I was checking out of the hotel the next day, I couldn't believe it, but the same procedure as the day before started again. Here I was standing in line for a receptionist, and then standing there for ever to get my bill.
I am a very regular customer to Shangri La in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Never have I gone through such a nightmare. This hotel with this kind of staff should obviously not carry the name of Shangri La. It is seriously damaging the brand. Needless to say that I will never come back to this hotel.

Judy in the Executive Lounge was extremely impressive...after meeting me once, she remembered my name every time she saw me and was also extremely attentive to my needs. Rarely do I experience this type of service. The other staff in the Executive Lounge were also extremely attentive. I've been to many Executive Lounges and the service at yours is the best (among many other fine places).
All your service staffs are under perform, I feel that the service is disgraceful to the shangari la group. From the front desk, to the Conceige , to the phone call ... such an disappointment.
Great hospitality from the club lounge staff (Olina, Henry, Elaine) but we do miss the presence of Kenny's attentive to details and wonderful smile. Hope to see him on our next stay. Also compliments to the good team spirit at concierge lead by Jimmy to arrange the storage and the rest of the boxes. Will definitely be back
Always a pleasure to stay at the Shangri-La. The Executive Lounge (29th floor) offerings and service by the staff is superb. Kudos for the Nespresso in-room coffee makers. The Fitness Center is another win...absolutely great!

Very nice Hotel in the heart of Pudong. Great breakfast, nice rooms (as always in Shangri La), beds a bit hard, excellent service.
Jasmine of FO, Jordan, Ricky and Daniel of Concierge was very helpful and helped make my check in a smooth one even though my luggage was extremely heavy.
Kenny & Aimee at the Horizon Club were excellent in ensuring that me and my guest have a very quiet ambience for our meeting. Did not disappoint despite my last stay was 4 years ago.
front-desk, housekeeping, bellman, resturant staff all are perfect.
The breakfast was attractive however when the waitress asked if you want tea or coffee, please also confirm chinese tea or english tea. I might look asian but definitely would like a cup of english breakfast tea. The manager there is superb, excellent service as he gave me the best english tea with milk to go!
In the room the office chair needs to be repaired as the leather is coming off on the armrest if that helps.

room is good except that it lacks the iphone cable plug-in to charge my iphone. I mean a lot of newly built hotels have this. And when i called the help desk and asked to borrow one (Iphone charge / iphone cable plug-in) the receptionist said it is all rent out, which is kind of disappointing.
Breakfast at Yi cafe has great food selection, but the service can be improved. The way that waitress showed your table is not very systematic, they often don't know where is the the empty table, during morning the busy hours, it takes us a few mins to find the empty table. And they often forgets bringing me my offee after i ordered it, i felt like there was a miscommunication among waitress there.

My stay in Shangri La Shanghai was one of the best trip that I ever had. The Horizon club was simply superb and Kenny Ooi was simply outstanding. He was very helpful and he was all out to help me with all my queries. I will come back to the hotel if he is still there.
The travel experience here is welcoming from the time you step into the Shangri-la Hotel. Richan Yu always makes the check in process simple and handles it with professionalism and cordiality. He is always available to help direct us. The food is fabulous, the rooms feel like home except with a strikingly beautiful river view.
As always, Shangri-la never failed to deliver.
The only drawn back was the customer officer not explicit with the new accommodation pricing and caused confusion.
Our 1st stay in SL Pudong and we felt at home. Staff gave us a warm welcome on our arrival. Our drivers and the gentlemen who received us at the airport and port are very professional. Wonderful staff at Horizon Club. Our special gratitude to Ms. Dream Yang who looked after all our needs, very professional and kind. Also to Mr. Johnson Jiang for being so attentive at all times. We can't thank you all enough... Mr. Sean Li had the courtesy of approaching us to wish us a good return trip and welcome us back at SL Pudong in the future. We had small issues trying to communicate in English with few people, specially at restaurants (JADE ON 36 and GUI HUA LOU) but at the end we always managed to talk with someone who understands English. The overall dinning experience was fantastic. In my 10 year son's own words " They don't know us and they threat us like they do know us". We're very thankful to the staff in general. We really enjoyed our days in Shanghai and we're looking forward to another stay at SL Pudong in the near future.

Huge facility! Lots of amenities in a really nice area.
When check-out, the guy at counter looks very unprofessional and he informed me that the invoice was not for me since it is booked from travel agent or someone else. But actually I booked it on Shangri-La official APP. Until now the points, stay and night has not been added yet. Also when I check out, I did not have any folio - neither hard copy, nor soft copy.
I like the room with the king size bed facing the ginormous window. And I like the amenities such as the nespresso machine...
Overall I was pleased with my stay, however my more junior colleagues (who are not Golden Circle members) were upgraded to suites whereas I am a Jade GC member and was not upgraded. As a team leader, this was slightly awkward, albeit also amusing. Please make your room upgrade policies more rational and logical.
The style of the Hong Kong-style tea restaurant is very authentic, big push!
The service is good, but I always have to request housekeeping service when I'm there for several days. I go out shopping for a few hours and return to find that my room has not been cleaned...I always have to call and request that my room be cleaned. This service should be automatic in such a high-end 5 star hotel, as lone as the do not disturb sign is not on.
As always, especially the staff of the Horizon Club, we are very dedicated to serving us! The first choice to go to Shanghai, I hope to stay in this comfortable service next time.

Clean and spacious rooms. Buffet deal is nice when you have 3 or more. Great location for business purpose in the Pudong area. Metro station is a bit far but acceptable. Not the best location to stay if you are looking for authentic local cuisines.

Caesar Zheng was at the guest desk when I checked in at 8.30PM .... I had never been offered to join the Golden Circle in the dozen plus times I have stayed at the Shangra- La. He was kind enough to take my information down, and initiate my joining the program, efficiently gave me his contact card should I need further assistance. He then proceeded to help me with my luggage to the elevator and wished me an enjoyable stay. Excellent Customer Service... The Hotel smells amazingly of Jasmine and Gardenias the moment you step into the hotel. The ambiance, art work, decor, staff exude a very classy, refined luxury expected from top end hotels, and then managed to soar above and beyond. The Jade Restaurant has an amazing view of the Bund and Water ways from the 36th floor, live music a few days a week and wonderful specialty drinks. Top Notch all the way, no pretentious, snobby, or bad service...
As always I had a absolutely excellent stay. Again I must compliment the Horizon club at Pudong. It s the main reason I keep coming back.

The room (964) I stayed at the first night had consecutive noise whole day. It seems from elevator.

I told a receptionist that I wanted to have a room that i can see the New Year laser performance. I was given a room opposite of the bun while I thought she would give me a room that face to face with either Oriental tower or Financial tower. Also in the room it doesn't have a USB charger for our mobile phone.
Otherwise all good.
In the old building, the Bund district is seen well.
Room condition was good. All the staff at the hotel were friendly. Because of the business trip, we did not have access to many facilities of the hotel, but there is also a swimming pool and health club.

Decent gym with a great locker room area. The locker room is like a spa with nice showers, a hot tub, a cold tub, a sauna and a steam room. There are several restaurants and bars within the hotel and there are endless dining options around the hotel.
The whole hotel was excellent from bedroom to food.
Perfect position with proximity to the city and Pudong. I highly recommend as a base to explore Shanghai or just relax.
I would like to have more room dining all day menu. And I hope you have a strong influence on the customers who are cutting the gap.
not easy to get there due to the heavy traffic warm staff, acceptable food
Staff are great but your hotel room really out date. Toilet has old stain, wall paint above the mirror is chipping and falling. Dust over the bathroom shelf that really need to be mopped. Where is the bag you used to put in the guest room for us to carry things? I have not seen bags for the last three stays. Generally the old side building need renovation.

Need to sort out your taxi companies, very different pricing. Dropped off wrong point even though had address, taxi experiences not good overall. Yellow taxis good, others not good.
Breakfast tea cold 2 out of 3 days, sat in some bad tables, dont know why, seemed to be western single tables sat around the back noticed this every day. Ok as I asked to move but policy seems wrong.
Pricing of some of the drinks was too much, had conversation with number of guests and shared same same opinion. why is a slightly better brand 2 or 3 times the price when cost of the brand is only 10% more to buy
I wonder if this is why jade 36 was always empty and your bar exchange was empty, stayed in your hong kong hotel and very different bar experience
