Great hotel in the midst of Pudong, love their huge selection for breakfast. Rooms are now getting refurbished which is good esp. for the quality of the bathrooms.

The room was not well kept, the hotel is not that old but my impression were quite run down, compared to other Shangri-La Hotel I stayed. Breakfast area was a mess - too many people (I later went back to Horizon instead).
Beautiful room and friendly staff in the horizon club but the reception staff and concierge need some training. We queued twice as our room wasn't ready and only after being sent twice by the concierge to reception did they tell us to check in at the club and we specifically asked and they said no queue downstairs
The customer service helped me collect my package. I really appreciate the help of the hotel staff! The gym staff was very nice and friendly. He shows us around the facility.

Yi Cafe at the Shangri-La continues to maintain its high standard. Great selection and quality of food on offer. The Pork Roast was outstanding. Still one of the best brunches in Shanghai
I was cheated into a twin room and charged the same price for a king room which I had booked. I was told i was "upgraded" but no one told me it was a twin in a below standard room, I never asked for a "view", I was there for a conference which my company held at your hotel. I mentioned this to Anthony Zhang and he was laughing and very unhelpful.

Wonderful hotel located in the Pudong area of Shanghai. The hotel is a short walk from the Lujiazui station on Line 2. The best feature of this hotel is the fitness centre with its gym, lap pool, steamroom, and hot/cold baths. I look forward to my next stay at this hotel.
The hotel was very clean, elegant, and the staff were amazing. All the restaurants at the hotel were very good. The views from the rooms were amazing, and so was the club room.
Well situated hotel in bustling Pudong. The older tower's rooms are slightly tired, but this is an overall comfortable place.
The location is awesome. But the room looks old, it's need remodel.

Location is quite nice. The Bund is on an another side of the river, so view over the river is beautiful. Shopping malls nearby hotel are exclussive and their prices are high. Another side of the river you can find more normal shops. Cafe J restaurant offers really impressive buffet menu. Worth to try. Hotel staff is friendly. They smile, and they try to help you all the time, even if they don t understand you. As a matter of one of the biggest problem during our visit was to find people who can speak english. Another problem was poor internet connections. Some source should have advice how to work with wifi and internet connections.

Everything was fine except the building and facilities were a bit old
The room was nice. The bathroom a little "overused" the handles on the bathtub said "Kalt" and "Hot", in German and English, and were for the hot water and cold water ( switched )..it was very confusing. The service was excellent, tough we just were able to get to our rooms around 15.40 pm, when normally the rooms would be ready at 15.00 pm. The dinner buffet was one of the best I have eaten in the past years, and I have been travelling a lot and in 5 star hotels! I also loved the breakfast!
The view over the Bund was breathtaking. Very central, next to a shopping center and right next to a nice walking area. We will surely come back again.
Excellent hotel in the business district of Pudong. From the hotel you can go to the embankment with a beautiful view of the opposite bank of the Bund, at night there is a special way to walk. A standard breakfast in Yi Cafe on the second floor of the tower (the hotel consists of an older building called River Wing and a skyscraper tower) is one of the best breakfasts ever tasted in hotels - a choice without exaggeration a huge, different cuisine, high quality products of their preparation. The staff is very professional and friendly. All in all, one of the best choices is to stay in Shanghai.

One of my favorite layover hotels in our system. The staff is friendly and attentive, the rooms are spacious, and it's in a great location. I love the eggs benedict in the lounge. It looks like a lot of care goes into their preparation. Sadly the Great VPN crackdown affects this hotel, and there's no hotel-level VPN like there used to be (and still is in some Chinese cities). It's a quick walk to nearby malls, and not much farther to the Metro. Beautiful views of the Oriental Pearl Tower and surrounding massive skyscrapers.
This shangrila has two wing. The newer Wong is the grand tower. The older Wong rooms are quite dated. It is located tight on the river so you can get a great view of the Bund. Service is good.

My original room had a leak and I called down to the front desk for Caesar. As always , he took excellent care of me and even sent someone up to help me move my belongings to the new room.
My stay was absolutely fabulous. The staff at the Horizon Club Lounge was always utmost attentive and friendly. I will certainly come back alone on business or with the family for vacation. The location of the hotel is very good (although lacking an underground connection to the metro which would have been nice during the wet weather period). A wide variety of restaurants, everything neat and clean, a place which can be truly recommended. Last but not least: the rooms were not overpriced in comparison to the competition (I was travelling on a very good travel agent package).
My congratulations particularly to the staff of the Lounge under the direction of Mrs. Judy. One single false note the reception at the entrance gives bad information to deceive the guests on the price of the rooms

Facing the Huangpu River, the scenery is super beautiful.
The room was beautiful (much better than the pictures online) with an awesome view and service was great, but two complaints. One, the restaurant for breakfast wasn't able to take foreign cards, therefore I had to pay at the lobby instead. I appreciated how the waiter was running just to help me. Glad to see how hard working the waiter was. But like most reviews have stated, the restaurant was clearly understaffed, which lead to slow responses in both order and bill (and waiters having too much to deal with). Two, the swimming pool area's floor is way too slippery which resulted to me slipping and twisted both of my hands while even after slipping, the lifeguard didn't offer to give me a pair of slippers to prevent myself from slipping again. I'd advice you to put anti slip matts all over the area, or putting a sign to have guests wear rubber slippers because the floor is very slippery.
I have a parcel, which is the front desk to help me sign in advance, very good, the front desk also said that I have a parcel at the time of check-in, I immediately paid the fee, said that it will be sent to my room, did not send, I called to ask. However, when I was on a business trip in Hong Kong, the Shangri-La, the service, the room and the supporting facilities were very good. This time I booked a hotel in Shanghai for two nights. I was told that I was booking the old building. I think it should be fine. Who knows, the front desk has a ragged look, it is really unsightly, the room is very bright, but there are not many things in the bathroom, only toothbrush toothpaste, not as neat and tidy as Hong Kong, at least cotton swabs, cotton sheets, There are no combs. The waiter sent the fruit warmly, saying that the fruit knife was in the cabinet under the bar, how did I find it? It was originally placed in a small round table. The feeling of experience is like old, it doesn't matter. The baggage was not taken right away. After waiting for half an hour to call, the concierge colleagues knew that I had already checked in, and there was no communication between the colleagues.
We did not have a good dining experience when having our breakfast . The Cafe is very congested. Some of your staff were not friendly and soiled plates were not cleared quickly especially during peak period.
The phone in our room was ringing loudly for several minutes. We have to hang up the phone. We have complained but problem persist.
Check-out was slow as computer system was having issues.

The hotel is located at a prime location with excellent room size and very friendly hotel staffs. Their breakfast buffet offers wide varieties of food from different part of the world and I especially like their cappuccino and fresh squeeze juice. Highly recommend!!!
James Burke FedEx Express Captain. Very nice hotel and staff is courteous but housekeeping is a joke. Every room I ve had including 2064 and 1454 had sink drains or shower drains blocked or broken and would not drain at all. This means your housekeeping IS NOT keeping rooms clean. This is nasty. I will notify FedEx corporate management about this.

As usual it was a joy to stay at a Shangri-La hotel. My one constructive comment is that there is no place to plug in a curling iron near a mirror. The only place I could plug it in was by the desk. it would be helpful to have a plug in the bathroom or at least by the mini bar area since there is a mirror there.

I have been staying here bery often over the last 3 years on business. The staff is always polite and very helpful. If there was anything that I called for, it was handled very promptly. The location is also something to be considered when looking for a place to stay. Lots of great places to eat, and close to shopping.
I come to Shanghai-La Pudong 3 times a month and the service is always amazing. I put a blazer into dry cleaning and one hour later I got it back in perfect condition. I go to the breakfast buffet every time I stay and the service is attentive and great. Please thank your staff for a job well done. The hotel is superb. Look for ward to my trip this Wednesday.

i booked 2 rooms and stayed for 4 nights. Rooms were spacious and clean. had a fantastic view of the Bund but the other shangrila hotel blocked a portion of the view. i was rather dissapointed with the breakfast spread. it was quite messy and some of the food trays were empty and lacking. The cushions in our room is quite saggy. The hotel is ideally located which is why i chose Shangrila at Pudong. Also, im so happy that there was a shuttle from Disney to the hotel at night.
Overall staying and leaving the store feels very good, especially the beautiful front desk Aimee xiao service professional, and enthusiastic to help me solve the problem of early check-in, praise.

Check-in was not too friendly and took long. Room cleanliness could be better. The dustbin in the bathroom was still filled from the guest before me.
You gave me a room that had a problem because I found a bad smell (someone smoked inside). I had to insist a lot to have another real "no smoking" room... At the end you changed it and everything was Ok... Thanks

I always enjoy my stay at Pudong Shangri-La East! I m well received, well taken care of and the food and accommodations are first class! I do miss getting a riverfront view the past few stays but I m always hopeful for the upgrade as a 4 year diamond member!
Always a pleasure to be welcomed by Mr Richan Xu. He is very professional, courteous and willing to help with any situation. On my last 2 visits though, there seems to have been some confusion about the free breakfast benefit that comes with being a JADE member of your loyalty program ! I was presented with a bill to cover the price of the buffet breakfast and, only after discussions with some managers was the bill either nullified or re-embursed to me. I wish I didn't have to justify this benefit while enjoying you wonderful breakfast buffet. The 4 rating for the breakfast experience reflects the last 2 visits. Mr Xu was quite helpful in this matter.

The staff at the reception and concierge were very helpful and professional, but there was definitely a lack of staff at both as there was always a queue to check-in/out or for the concierge, which was quite problematic for me as a business traveller who was always in a hurry.
The room in the new wing was very nice and comfortable, and if I had to find something to pick on the only thing I can think of is the lack of power points, especially near the bed. That being said, I had previously stayed in the old wing and the rooms, though bigger and still comfortable, were very old and dated.
The quality of the buffet breakfast was only ok, and a little disappointing for Shangri-la standards - the taste was average and presentation was unappealing e.g. some of the fresh fruit provided were rotten or squashed. There was a good variety but the food was not / slow to be refiiled even and the service staff wasn't very helpful. Would also suggest that the hotel comes up with a better system for the noodle station where there was always a really long wait and the grumpy overworked chef frequently mixed up the guests' orders.
The traffic in the bustling area is convenient, bright and tidy.

I email the hotel to request the airport pick-up and they said it can be arranged. But then my plan is changed after a meeting on the other day, so I call directly to the hotel and the staff said my room has to be cancelled if I cancel the pick up by phone. It is nonsense and made me all the way back to the office and send them another email to cancel the pick-up.
We received an excellent welcome at the airport pickup and upon arrival at the hotel as staffs was on hand to truly greet us. The guest relation manager walk us to our rooms and pleasantly surprise we were given an upgraded rooms with a fabulous view overlooking the Bund. Highly recommended Hotel in Shanghai as it is also very convenient to all sight seeing tours.
Great bar and lounge hidden down underneath the Shangri-La hotel. Hard to find but good western beer and food selection. Has a pool table and 1950s lounge vibe.
