Stunning rooms and hotel - the only downside was that it could be better staffed during busy periods - we visited over New Year. Also there was no food labelling in the buffet. I would suggest this as an area for improvement as this poses difficulties for allergy sufferers. My kids are allergic to nuts, sesame and fish and found the buffet hard to navigate.

Great stay! I loved my stay, the view is absolutely breathtaking and I would definitely stay there again.

Some thoughts....Which could have given a 5/5 rating.

- A speaker in the room would have been a great addition to the amenities. (For a room at this rate I think it should have been there?)

- Not all the lamps were working/some lightbulbs off

- I rated "Your people" at 4 only because of the restaurant service, which was EXTREMELY slow and unpleasant...I traveled alone, for some rest and time off and it seemed that because I was a solo traveler coming to have lunch or diner, I was not paid attention to at all...Which I don't think should happen in such a hotel. That was at the restaurant facing the infinity pool. The Pool bar, in-room dining and Health club dining experience were perfect.
That restaurant was simply unpleasant, staff not trained, barely attended me and at some point did not attend me at all while asking for a table. So I left. That was the only disappointing experience of my stay.

- Front desk/Concierge experience was perfect. Really appreciated the late check-out at 5pm for my late night flight and all the attention to make my stay perfect.

- Speaker in the bathroom (TV audio) did not work properly

- Some more paper/stationary would have been great to be able do some work from my room resk

- Hair drier wasn't at at an "ideal" place and had to call to find it (in the "office" desk)

These are just details that could have made the stay "perfect" , loved my stay with you otherwise!

Your Outlet Manager, Ms Christiane Bronola is an asset to the hotel. We had lunch on our first day at Shang Palace and being our first time at the restaurant, she made us feel welcome. Upon her recommendation, we visited the Yas Mall where we did most of the shopping. The 'pop up' entertainment at the Mall were unusual and interesting. We would not have gone there if not for her excellent suggestion. As her service was excellent, we couldnt resist having dinner at Hoi Ann on our last night at the hotel.

Amazing hotel, beautiful views and amenities including four or five great restaurants. It is annoying to have all prices shown without the various taxes, surcharges and service added on top so keep in mind th already expensive prices will be 20% higher when all said and done. Would not be the recommend paying for or the "special upgrade" to the horizon club access that provides "free" beer, wine and basic spirits, it is a boring no atmosphere room that we used one time for 30 minutes and went down to the pool bar instead and paid for drinks. For the most part service was very good but consistently found food and beverage service very slow and often found after waiting for a long time having to wave someone down or follow up. Drinks also took an inordinate amount of time to come out, even a simple beer would take 15 minutes in a quiet period. Everything else was 5 star!

The place is very nice and the staff is friendly and attentive. Food especially was very good.
Some things you must know:
1) The room smelled like humidity every day,
2) Some person came to fix the lights in the balcony during our stay without us asking
3) It is annoying getting the bill brought to you before you're done with the dining experience. This happened 3 times.
4) The lights in the room were confusing, and there is no way to turn the office light on directly

Hands down, the best hotel i have ever stayed at! Everything about this hotel was perfection.. and i'm not even exaggerating. I went for the Horizon Club King Deluxe room, and it was the best decision ever!

Room: Peefection - from the beautiful view from the balcony, to the fantastic bathroom, and perhaps the most comfortable bed i've slept on. Perfect ameneties!

Service: let's just say i really enjoyed being treated like a queen. From the moment i arrived, to the moment i left the hotel - the service was excellent

Horizon club: free flowing non alcoholic beverage and bite-sized food with a ridiculous view.

Did i also mention that there is a gondola that connects the hotel to a beautiful souk? What an experience!

Food: the breakfast buffet offers essentially everything you can imagine! Also, i would absolutely recommend Pearls and Caviar, by Sergi Arola - a Michelin star chef. Fantastic food with a very beautiful view.

I cant say anymore good things about this hotel. Would come back in a heart beat!

Very nice, elegant hotel. Great service and friendly staff.
The concierge desk offers free trips to the nearby souk (the mall that is connected to the hotel) and the Chi spa on the golf car for free.
Good valet service, as well.

I have been to Shangri La, Abu Dhabi several times. This hotel has a relaxing environment with Infinity swimming pool overlooking the beautiful Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. You can also swim in the private beach.
For both lunch and dinner, I enjoyed the wide range of international buffet menu available in Sofra Bld restaurant. Even though, the price is at the higher end, quality of food is amazing. That's why, I keep on coming back here again and again. I should also mention that free valet parking is available, if you have a booking with the restaurant.

It is absolutely appreciated for the AC provision in such a hot destination. However, in Those gazebos along the All Day Dining pool, it is an energy waste concern due to: 1)the plastic curtain is not 100% sealed and there are many air gaps. And 2) the restaurant keeps the AC on when there is no guest inside. I fully aware of this luxury service standard. But hope there could be a balance in between luxury and eco-friendly.
Oh, BTW, my name is not 4F WanChing Street . It is my post address. Not sure why does your system keep calling me dear 4F WanChing Street ?

We feel always very welcome when staying at the Shangri-La again. We appreciate the excellent service and always experience a wonderful vacation, for example the wake-up call with fresh coffee and cookies early in the morning. Especially the team at the Sofra Bld. makes the stay memorable with their helpfulness and their great efforts.

Very good quality hospitality staff. Needs are attended to in shortest possible times. Chinese broil can be tastier with a tad more salt. Number of pest insects at the alfresco dinning area can be reduced with electric insect killers.

We stayed for 6 days and found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. An excellent choice of food for breakfast. The room we had was a good size and well decorated with an Arabian style.
Overall the hotel is an excellent place to stay with a private beach and an excellent view of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque from the beach and bedrooms.

My wife and I stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel in Ab...

My wife and I stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel in Abu Dhabi last June during our honeymoon. It was an absolutely amazing experience. It was so good, we can't help but use it as the yardstick with which to measure all the other hotels we've stayed at since. Our experience was made very special by the wonderful staff who always had giant smiles on their faces, and really impressed us by always greeting us by name. Every time we returned to the hotel or left our room, we were welcomed with "hello Mr. Tyler", or "how can we help you Mr. Tyler?" They also constantly checked up on us and made sure our stay was going well. We also really enjoyed the nice touch of them bringing up a bottle of champagne for our honeymoon.

The hotel's decor is what I would describe as a combination of middle eastern airyness and architecture with an open Mediterranean feel, bringing in the sea. The lobby is beautiful, accented by a huge chandelier. The rooms are equally impressive, containing a fantastic bathroom with a bath tub Shamu would be happy in. The room had a very clean, open feel with tile floors that helped a lot with the heat. The bed was also very nice, huge and extremely comfortable. The view was also very nice. We had a picturesque view over the resort grounds, including the pools and man made river that runs through the complex, as well as across the real river to the enormous Mosque. The pools shared this view, as did the restaurant. It was very nice to sit by the pool with this view in the background.

The grounds have a man made river on them, and little abra boats that they will ferry you around on between the hotel and nearby shopping, or just around in a circle of the resort if you like. We felt this was a very nice touch, especially romantic at night.

I also really appreciated the shuttle service they offered that took us to the Mosque for the tour in the morning, and over to the mall for some shopping later in the day. The location is also quite convenient as there is a small mall like building next door with several nice shops and restaurants. We ate at Ushna, the Indian Restaurant, one night and were very happy with the food, especially the well balanced spiciness and the wine that was paired with it.

The hotel was also very convenient for us to travel to Ferrari World and the Formula One Race track, both a short taxi ride away. They were also able to secure tickets for us at the concierge and arrange the transfers for us.

We were not able to visit the spa during our stay, but really enjoyed the large pool, though it was nearly unbearable in the heat of late June.

We ate breakfast twice at the buffet restaurant, Sofra Bld in the hotel. The selection was very good, and had something for every taste from traditional American style omelets and sausages to Chinese dishes. We also liked that the wait staff came around fairly often with specialty drinks of the morning including different juices. All the food was very good, and we admittedly ate far more than we needed to in 110 degree heat. It was on the pricey side, but you are paying the the convenience of eating in the hotel, and for breakfast, it was very good. Good enough at least to prevent us from looking anywhere else during our stay.

Our favorite part was definitely how well the staff treated us, especially by taking the time to learn our names. Also, always greeting us with a smile and making sure we were enjoying our stay. Even the small things like a refreshing cool towel whenever we returned and tea tastings and dates in the lobby really made us glad to be staying there.

Superb! It takes you to another world of relaxation & pleasure. I stayed a couple of nights doing nothing, but just wandering in the hotel, beach and Souk next to it. I had a bad luck with my suite owing to some technical problems. However, I recommend to give it a try

Stayed in July for 2 nights. The pool was closed at that time due to Covid restrictions but loved the beach with a stunning view of the sunset. We got a room upgrade with a huge balcony with the nicest view of the sunset and Grand Mosque. The room was very spacious and loved the interiors. Staff were excellent in their service.

We thought the hotel and staff were fantastic.

its a shame it was marred by my partner being really sick and us asking for a doctor. We got taken to a private hospital where they put Jackie on an intravenous drip and took blood and urine. The results were food poisoning. We didn't leave the hotel at all, only ate there.
i called the hotel to ask for a car to take us back to the hotel which we were charged us for and since we were back at the hotel no one called or asked us if Jackie was okay. Absolutely terrible service.

It was a beautiful stay in the hotel. However I have two critiques; firstly it was my husband birthday and all that was provided was a cake that tasted horrible, no candle or card or anything to make it special. Last year we stayed at the mina al Salam in madinat jumeriah Dubai and they had rose petals on the bed and delivered a small hamper with chocolates and fruit and provided a lovely chocolate cake.
The second is the coffee selection in the room, we have stayed at many 5 star hotels with the majority of them offering the pod coffee machines or the cappuccino and latte sachets at the very least. The coffee and tea selection was limited and I had to ask for more coffee mate. It is the small things that make the big differences.

We had a great staycation at Shangri-La. Its my sons bday and he feel so very special with all the balloons and cake. Weve been upgraded to the next room category and the view are fantastic. Weve got additional bed as a complimentary. Sofra restaurant crew are all nice specially yasin, pooch, cherry and cindy which they also bring cake to my son and sing a happy birthday, they are very accomodating. Pool are nice and controlled temp with a safety precautions of limiting the capacity whilst u waited at their beach area. Just take a note with the dinner as we didnt expect that even the water is not included in the full board rate. Friday breakfast is very wide in their variety and amazing. Breakfast is some kind of normal but also nice. Big thanks to sabina who help me booked thru emails and answered all my questions patienty. Overall I am very happy with the services and it will go to my top 10 of hotels Ive been in UAE. Hope will can come back soon.
