Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts Abbu Dhabi Review

This is the second time I stay here, and I came back because I enjoyed the lay out of the place and the convenience of being away from home yet feel at home.
The staff accommodated my request for a room near the pool on the ground floor and were so friendly and helpful.

things that could be improved:
1- Cleanliness of the apartment (the bedsheets did not smell fresh, the table in front of the TV was not clean).
2- The kitchen did not have basic things such as kitchen towels or tissue, dishwashing tablets or liquid. At least a small supplement would help your guest settle in.
3- The knives were not sharp, and there were no drinking glasses only mugs.
4- the freezer door had mold.
5- There was no spare toilet paper (which usually is the case)
6- It would be great if there were refreshments sold around the pool area, at least cold drinks.
7- It also will be nice to have a small children play area (indoor or outside).

Thank you for enquiring for feedback and thank you for accommodating my request, I plan to come back in the near future with my extended family and book a raw of apartments to enjoy the venue.

Good clean hotel. Bar poor and restaurant adequate.

Food poisoning during First day at hotel. We only ate in the resort untill That time So it must have come from within the hotel, despite How hard the manager was trying to convince us it wasnt.

A wonderful and quiet resort but on a small creek and not on a sea

One of the best hotels we have stayed in with regards to service and overall comfort. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was great and the facilities were great.
We spent a very relaxing 10 days on holiday and would most certainly come back again and recommend to others.

The pool is nice and friendly and spacious. If you are not a guest, you can not exchange money.

Wow spent Friday brunch here. Staff super attentive and friendly. Range of food awesome and satisfied all requirements. Pool and beach brill. Couldn't ask for more.

From arrival to departure our experience was amazing . We used the Horizon Club and experience was so personal. Jane , Deirdre and pooch are esteem Staff . Always attentive to fine l detail . The cleanliness off the Hotel 10/10 and one one personal care from all staff was amazing . Highly recommend

One of the best hotels in Abu Dhabi. Splendid view, friendly staff, good food and equally distanced from all points of interest.

Very relaxing resort, warm sparkling pools, clean rooms, very pleasant staff, nothing to complain about.
The grounds are so generous and vast that we had pools and beach practically to ourselves despite full occupancy.

Very Nice hotel But The manager s (Evan) attitude were very bad as he gave us breakfast for free upon booking and after breakfast he asked me to pay the breakfast fee.

Overall a wonderful stay. Very beautiful hotel, excellent location, smiling and warm colleagues. Special mention to Azra at Front Desk who was so welcoming. Also the lady who offered the welcome drinks, very hospitable. Tebi in the restaurant was so accommodating when my wife found a dirty plate on the buffet, the way he apologised and spoke to her, she was smiling again and forgot about her complain. Also Rouan, the server and Rouan, the lifeguard at the pool side were very caring. My wife got small bruises from the beach activities and Rouan provided first aid with a lot of care. I wasn't happy with my beer at the poolside as it was not very chilled, and Rouan changed it immediately. I could see the people genuinely care for the guest comfort. What I would recommend to Improve is the speed of service at pool side and the AC in the room. The AC was not very effective and we were feeling warm in the night even at 19 degrees. But these are small things.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay, it was our first trip to Abu Dhabi and it became one of the most memorable trips :) thank you!

Fantastic hotel, great facilities and above all else the staff throughout the hotel are highly professional, helpful, welcoming and offer a 100% genuine warm greeting whatever you do.

Wherever you are in the hotel the staff to guest ratio is perfect hence the great and attentive service.



The pool area was superb with an infinity pool with a view of the Grand Mosque. The pool attendants where first class, laying towels on beds on arrival, every guest is given unlimited bottled water in a small cool box, regular cold flannels and sun glass cleaning, all nice little touches that make this a nice place to stay.

Plenty of food choice in the hotel as well as in the Souk attached to the hotel, catering for all tastes and budgets.

All round a great place to stay, we will definitely be returning.

The Shangri La Abu Dhabi feels like home, primarily because the staff members are so attentive and kind. I arrived at 1 am to broad smiles and my stress diminished as soon as I walked through the doors. The rooms are well appointed, well maintained and CLEAN. I love the view, the decor, the quiet but the staff are what makes it feel so warm and welcoming.

One week ago I came to the Shangri La in Abu Dhabi wiling to make my wife a surprise for our wedding anniversary and booked a room in the hotel. From the very first interaction with the hotel personnel everything and everyone seemed to be so helpful and happy to welcome me with an obvious luxurious touch. On the reception I ve been assisted by Lubna who helped me with all the details in order to set the unforgettable surprise that I want and she was amazing. She took care of everything in such professional way. Believe me she is the right person to assist you especially if you wanna prepare a surprise. Once we checked in we were really impressed about the room and the service received and we relaxed (exactly want we wanted). One of the attractions of the hotel is the Abra (everyone should try this) which will take you for a beautiful boat ride crossing the entire resort. Here we met Rahem another amazing person who was our Abra driver for the night and he really made everything look and feel
as a VIP treatment( he waited for us to go and take beautiful pictures on some spots suggested by him as well then he came back to pick us after diner, the pictures that he made for us during the trip in exact spots where he knew like a professional that the lighting and the view will create the perfect decor for a beautiful picture) He was just amazing!
Thanks to this 2 personnel our vacation was indeed a 5 star one. We will come back and will for sure recommend the hotel to other people. Thank you to Shangri La team for offering us such beautiful memories.

Great experience at the hotel for a first-timer like me

I been impress with how beautiful, clean a friendly stuff is in a hotel. Gives great vibes and feels, perfect relax, luxury feel and warm atmosphere. I'm not surprised it won 2017 award for traveler choice of the year. Also received 15% discount when I extended my stay, thank you for that. l'll definetlly return back to you on my next AD visit

If you want to experience boat ride like Venice staying in Abu Dhabi? then this is the right place. Shangri-la Abu Dhabi The tour will be in between the souk water flows in between the beautiful buildings. Its very good for family with kids to enjoy. only Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thursday only from 3pm. Friday and Saturday 10am to 10pm.
This hotel is so beautiful to stay it has good facilities lot of parking.
Shopping area.

The hotel is absolutely first class. Absolutely recommended for a relaxing holiday. Everywhere are nice staff who help to try in every situation. Also, you can book well from the hotel excursions, the value for money are outstanding. The hotel has an excellent location, it has two beautiful beaches and at the very end the great food should not be forgotten. For a relaxing holiday, the hotel is really worth the money.

Breakfast is wonderful and varied and the scenery is beautiful

The hotel is luxurious and the setting is perfect but the key differentiator is the quality of the staff. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Leavana was outstanding, she worked so hard to ensure our stay was problem free and totally relaxed.

We were in Traders hotel by Shangrila. Food could have been better. Executive lounge seemed lacking for breakfast.

It's really very nice place to visit, the out side view is amazing, the hotel it self also, there is market and restaurants inside.
Recommended for families, groups and tourist.

Very Disappointed with Shangri-la Abu Dhabi .The point of Disappointment is not with the guest welcoming crew or the Amenities or the excellent Breakfast Team and amazing breakfast spread .It's about how they discriminated us maybe because they didn't like our faces or maybe we are from India/ Asians or is it because we just follow rules so they can just tell us anything blindly.A pool were others had their glasses around sipping We were asked to Step out of the pool to have our drinks and they refused to serve us there but all others in the pool where we were standing was having their drink and when we asked the staff they blantently denied us and didn't even provide information on why we were asked to step out while others were being served .We stepped out had our glass and in next 10 mins the staff is taking order and serving the drinks at the pool to others(don't want to mention their origin) but surely felt racial discrimination here .The asst manager understood the issue and apologised immediately but to what extend is this to be accepted .We pay premium to be part of Shangri-la experience and there are other star hotels in the same lane for example Traders hotel may not be in the same class but their hospitality was equal to everyone in every manner why pay that extra 40percent and feel uncomfortable/ ignored and discriminated .Anyone who faces this anywhere stand up and ask WHY!!! This experience ruined my family staycation

It was a really nice trip and stay at your hotel. There was nothing, that was not perfect and i will surely come back during the next year to enjoy an other holiday at your great Hotel!!! it was a great pleasure!!!

I stayed for 6 nights with my wife and we loved every minute.
Very comfortable room, good spacious bathroom, truly amazing staff and fabulous breakfasts.
If we return to Abu Dhabi we'll definitely stay with you again.

.. beautiful..painty .. cleaner .. the popular market in it is not wonderful .. and the place is clean .. and the beach back .. and the boats and boats take a tour is wonderful and wonderful .. The advantage in this place that the visit is memorable

Lovely hotel, nice location, great food and excellent service.

Nice property however it is 'normal practice' as quoted by the night manager for loud music to be played in their restaurants until 12:30 (time of writing this post) in the morning. We are in a 4th floor, mosque facing room and are unable to sleep. Also worth noting it's a Tuesday night and not the weekend.

This 5 stars hotel is one of the best hotels in Abu Dhabi. Great staff!

Excellent hotel. The only problem was that I was not allowed to film the hotel to keep the best memories pretext that my camera was too professional.

Very nice restaurant and you find small boating inside the hotel

The hotel's site is very good. You can see the mosque beside the river very well. The swimming pool is also very good. You can see the mosque while swimming in the pool.

Very good hotel but not worth paying for horizon club. Breakfast has more choices on ground floor, no noon or afternoon serving. Only evening serving. Also no extra advantage like priority bed next to the main pool or drinks next to tge pool.

Exceptional hotel and exceptional staff and service. Our first time to Abu Dhabi and we will return for more experiences. The hotel was an amazing base to explore the city and we found Abu Dhabi and its people so welcoming and engaging, such a safe environment.
