Beautiful 1001 night palace with extremely friendly service. Unfortunately, Montezuma's revenge caught us, too, the staff were extremely helpful and around the clock. You feel as part of the family. The beach is small, but also great service with water in cool boxes etc.

Excellent staff. Nice Arabic touches in hotel eg lights to rooms. Spotlessly clean.
This was our second visit to this hotel and we were not disappointed.
The executive club lounge is really excellent. Jane and her team really looked after us.
The beach staff worked tirelessly to help all guests obtain sun beds.
We would definitely return.

Our stay at Shangri-La was excellent. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay welcoming and lovely. Our room and hotel facilities (eg infinity pool, gym, spa) were excellent also. Small touches like fruit platter in the room were great. View from our suite over the river and to the mosque were incomparable. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back one day.

The beautiful buffet for breakfast and dinner and the view the non alcoholic alcool may be included in the price of the buffet it will be more pleasant

Special thanks and reward to Jamal the driver of the shuttle for his professionalism and his sympathy to guide us in the city of Abu d habi
The schedule is not in adequation with the hours of opening museum (le louvre or ferrari world) and more schedule plan will be appreciate (expecially to come back at the hotel)

finally the room was perfect and the personnel was so kind too
last remarks is about the spa itwas too very good bit it s not easy to found it and we have to leave the hotel to go in the spa a corridor will be better to permit us to go with spa clothes

The overall experience was excellent except the TV...

The overall experience was excellent except the TV's in the rooms. These were pretty old and did not have a USB port in it.
The Breakfast was also amazing and the pool and Beach facilities were also very nice.

Dirty. Dirty furniture in the lobby on the balcony, dirty furniture on the balcony in the room, a dirty bathroom shelf, someone's hair ties hung on the handle of the bathroom door. One of the robes was dirty. The shower in the room was broken, they came to fix it 20 minutes after checking in. This is after 10 hours on the road. On the last day, the cleaners decided not to leave the second robe. Few towels.
You can wait about 10 minutes for the menu in the lobby. Girls waitresses and girls managers from the cafe in the lobby have very serious faces, but this obviously does not help them to take an order faster. They'd better talk to each other.
Breakfast is 5 points out of 10. For omelet and scrambled eggs you have to stand in line for 10 minutes. Coffee at breakfast is just disgusting. How one can manage to do this in the east is a mystery.

As a result, it turns out that the hotel is slightly better than a normal Egyptian hotel, but with the price tag of the Intercontinental in France. And you still need to look for such a cost of food in restaurants and in Hong Kong.

Yes, the bridge with cars is noisy, planes and helicopters fly constantly, and some kind of drilling rig near the sea buzzes with a diesel engine during the day :)

My only negative comment is the beach : a lot of dead fish could be seen at the beach , in addition to polluted beach

we were just excited from the service and personnel: i believe we haven't met such friendly and welcoming atmosphere never before (and we travel quite a lot). We booked a Horizon Club room and especially loved the personnel in the Club which we visited really every evening, with huge pleasure.
The single issue (but of temporary nature, indeed) - the view to the Grand Mosque - either from the room, or from the beach is ugly impacted from the construction side, straight over the river :(

The hotel as always was a very enjoyable and pleasant experience. Each visit the wonderful staff makes better than the last. The warmth and caring from every member here is world class from the valet staff, the lobby and guest relations teams to the Horizon club and guest room attendants. I cannot say enough wonderful things to explain what a beautifully wonderful property the Shangri-La is to all of its guest.

If you are looking for the top in Abu Dhabi....well you have found it
Shangri la offers the very best you could ever ask for.
Great staff and service. Young people and extremely supportive for any need. Location is perfect right in the middle from Abu Dhabi Airport and Center of the city. Private beach which offers a fantastic clear water and fine sands. Food is at very high level we are talking almost impossible not to suite any of your most demanding need. Truly impressive. So far the top around the area

We had a pool and beach day pass which was fully redeemable and loved it here. It's super tranquil from the infinity pool looking out at the Grand Mosque. The food was excellent and the staff were exceptionally friendly. Looking forward to going again soon!

Staff was overly attentive, friendly and helpful. Very well maintained facilities. Great food at breakfast buffet.
Compared to other five star Hotels I stayed before however, I missed little things like a little fruit plate welcoming us at our room, a mint or chocolate at nighttime turnover.
Also all flights from Europe arrive to Abu Dhabi around 8pm. So checkin in at around 9pm and staying at a Horizon room with executive lounge access, I would imagine just a little choice of food or drinks to be available upon arrival, no need for a full buffet but some small fingerfood sandwiches and a drink to setzle after a long flight and familiarize with the destination...
I wouldnt pay the extra for a Horizon room again knowing snacks are only available 5.30-8.30pm. From the likes like JW Marriott, which is basically way below Shangri-La, I am used to a better Lounge guest offer.
Besides, our stay was truely relaxing!
Especially the possibility for very late check-out was very much appreciated!!!

The breakfast and service at the Traders Hotel where we ended up was an atrocious experience :-( to say the least. The Pizza we ordered was delivered cold.

We have been regular clients of Shangri La in Abu Dhabi for some years. We keep coming back because we like the staff, the facilities and the location. Although we live in Dubai, we have our break in the Shangri La in Abu Dhabi.
By and large we are happy, although there are small things that could make our experience better.
Things that can improve is the freshness of the room and the service in the restaurant. We would like to commend Mr Shyamlal at the restaurant for his professional approach and efficiency.

Beautiful hotel, nice place for sunsets, beaches for sunbathing, nice restaurant especially Shang Palace for famous Dim Sum & Safron restaurant for the international buffet. Very delicious food.

overall I was really happy with the hotel. service was first class, room was always spotless. one minor criticism was the Horizon club.
recommendations,
1. smart tailored shorts should be acceptable ( no swim wear or sports wear.)
2.children over the age of 12 should be allowed in the main
lounge.
3. In Jumeriah PLC lounge at JBH they have 4 PlayStations set up and also lady doing face painting for the younger children, this gives mum and an opportunity to have a drink and abit of alone time. might be worth your team taking a look at their set up.

just like to say you service team for breakfast were first class.
