Beautiful rooms with incredible views. The attention to detail is excellent in every way. Hoi An restaurant was fantastic and the food delicious. Plenty of variety for breakfast with stunning views to take in. The pool and beach area are very relaxing. Customer service is superb - Polina was very helpful. Highly recommended and very deserving of 5 stars.

I decided to stay in Abu Dhabi to see the Grand Mosque from this infinity pool.
I was uneasy because I am not good at English, but all the staff responded kindly in clear English.
The facilities and buildings are gorgeous but the staff are friendly and perfect.
The facilities were all beautiful.
I especially liked the infinity pool which looked at the mosque, it was good to choose this hotel. I went to Infinity Pool with Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, but I was most moved.
By the way, there are 3 swimming pools and 2 private beaches.
I want to spend two nights or more next time because I can relax very much.
One more negative, I felt the smell, so I think it would be better if there was a room fragrance.

Overall happy (friendly staff), with nice breakfast and dinner buffets and beautiful view

was disappointed the 2nd day. We wanted to have breakfast on the terrace but was not allowed. Almost all tables were reserved for a big group? (we still hadn't seen them when we left after breakfast)
When I asked if i could reserve a spot on the terrace for the next morning this was not allowed for me? I don't understand how customers can be treated like that
Also my sunglasses were stolen, which was not fun

Allocated a Smoking room when I asked for a non smoking ground floor King sized bed when I booked

An alternative was offered on the first floor but was not accepted and a room with 2 singles was not accepted either

We accepted the smoking room but should not have done this it spoilt our stay

We had 1 drink at the bar and the wait to be served was too long and it took 20 minutes to get our check when we had finished

Check out took 30 minutes plus

For these reasons we are unlikely to come back or recommend you the level of service and lack of problem resolution was poor

Another stunning Shangri-la experience you can't go wrong with. The location is giving it 4 (I can't do 4.5 stars) instead of 5 stars because it's between 2 main highways, so won't be the tranquil, leave the world behind experience you might be looking for, but that in no way makes it less of a place to be. The traffic sound isn't intrusive, but its there and when you're on the beach, you can see it.
Staff are warm and welcoming, and so far we have eaten at Shang Palace for my husband's birthday, and the food was superb. We had sweet and sour chicken, best we have ever had, as well as beef fillet in spicy sauce and the Cantonese bbq beef ribs with fried jasmine tea, amazing, and lime May crispy prawns, there were 4 pieces but I've never seen hem so big! Portions are large, so 2 mains between 4 would be adequate. A testament to how good the food was, we weren't hungry but managed to eat 4 mains between 3 of us.
The hotel has a small souk between this Shangri-la and the Traders Shangri-la, so set up is similar to Madinat jumeirah in Dubai. But this isn't as jaw dropping nor busy in any way like the madinat, but has its own charm. Its a 2 min walk via the beach or you can take the hotel abra to the souk.theres a good selection of eateries there too, meat company, noodle House, and el wahab etc.

Great place to stay, may try other hotels in Abu Dhabi, but would definitely visit and done again!

We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were overall really happy and satisfied. The main reason for this is the service and attitude of the staff who made us feel fantastic. Right from the staff who made our room (449) until the bell boy who took our luggage and all staff in between. Thank you all for a memorable stay.

The closing of the infinity pool was a big miss ofcourse. the rooms were very nice but you did get the feeling that its an old property as there was a damp smell.

The guys at the breakfast Durga, Cindy and Danilo were 10/10. Super service and we really looked forward to coming for breakfast. They make you feel very comfortable.

The lady who cleaned our room on the Friday and the gentleman who cleaned the room on Saturday were so professional and polite. Byju at the Al Maha bar was so friendly and is a cocktail expert.

Having stayed at various 5* properties around the world I must say that service and staff attitude wise Shangri-la is a class apart and very impressive.

Look forward to staying at their several other properties.

Very nice hotel; we would have appreciated a play area for the kids and/or small slide at the pool or so to make the experience much better for families with kids.

Also, restaurants prices are quite high which turned us down from even trying it.

We stayed for a week in a Horizon Club King Room. We had a fantastic time. Staff were superb and could not have been more helpful. Malek, our housekeeper on the 4th floor, was particularly excellent.
The Horizon Club was lovely, although the area really does need to be enlarged. It is quite clearly nowhere near big enough during Happy Hour when the hotel is full or nearly full and some attention should be given to this as it is not really good enough in an establishment such as this for there to be nowhere to sit or for the food to run out. This is a minor, but important, issue.
Everything else was brilliant. Pool staff were superb and we had a wonderful time.

We had a fabulous Arabic-themed dinner buffet last night at Sofra, Shangri-La. They have wide array of choices (internationally), you can never go wrong. It speaks for its name delicious foods, warm ambiance, and professional staff; special thanks to Agung for going extra mile super friendly and accommodating. He was always smiling a d attended to our needs promptly, which gives a positive tone all throughout our dining experience. This should be acknowledged by the management. Good job!

Quite nice hotel with local style design. It is close to the canal and overlooks the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (unfortunately there are some construction sites in front). Has its own beach, swimming pool and many different style restaurants (Chinese food recommended). Next to it is an Arabic-style bazaar. Recommended! Quite nice hotel with local style design. Only saw it from the outside on my visit to Qaryat al Bari but seemed like a pretty sick resort with a pool & private beach along with free Abra rides which is basically like a gondola that glides along a little man made river.

The housekeeping staff were phenomenal! The wifi was weak and disappointing. I was not able to get wifi while sitting at my desk or on the balcony. I had to put my computer on the end of my bed in order to get a good signal. I was also not happy about no availability to watch the World Cup games at the hotel.

The first room was very smelly and not suitable for five stars but the crew was helpful but then the wind. And the hotel at night, you were in the cold, neither in it nor effective. I mean you are in a normal hotel Moe 5 Star Resort so I would recommend it. But the market is a curse, and its path also leaves you free

I booked a 9-day stay trusting that this 9.1 rated family hotel would be up to par. To my surprise, there was only a 4-5 repeated activities everyday for the whole week m. There was one main employee trying to keep all the kids happy and in control. We experienced terrible weather the first three days and since the activities are outdoors there was nothing offered to keep the kids busy. I had a totally different experience at the Shangri-la Bar Al-Jissa, Muscat. They had a kids club and ample number of staff to supervise the kids from 9am-9pm along with fun sessions at the kiddy pool.
After submitting a complaint for the terrible planning of activities that were scheduled but not actually offered, I was told that Mr. Alex (the so-called manager) will personally sit with me to resolve this issue. He did not even make the effort to show up and settled for passing a message through the conceirge telling me that they will get back with the list of confirmed activities!! So much for a 5-star hotel service! With that being said, I have to thank Mr. Kamal and a special thank you to Louie for offering everything they can to make up for this experience. The rooms were clean but not as spacious as the ones in Muscat. The in-room dining menu is quiet limited, especially the kids menu which included dishes I ve never heard kids order (roasted chicken breast <- are you guys serious? wok fried beef with ginger <- really?? And we re left with spaghetti, grilled fish and pepperoni pizza crip. Do you seriously call this a menu? Oh, not to mention the pasta and market salads in the appetizers section )
I will definitely not consider coming back as I would not regard this hotel as family-friendly.

It s a very good property with the best amenities. Right from the time we entered the service was very nice. All are requests were taken care of. We were enrolled for gold membership which gave us discounts at all the in house restaurants. Room was fantastic and was decorated for our anniversary occasion. Chi spa was also very nice with very good jacuzzi facility. Loved our experience at Shangri La

Fantastic check-in with Polina. She upgraded us to a Horizon room to get the best deal available to include breakfast. Best decision to pay little bit more. Had access to Horizon Club so enjoyed nice happy hour to relax before dinner. Highlight was the breakfast with Durga and his team taking good care of us. Their breakfast is the best in UAE!!! Looking forward to another staycation there.
