One of my favourite places. Theatre: star, sun and storm. Productions imbued with beauty and emotion and laughter. Warm, friendly staff. Wonderful education and workshop events as well.
The Mark Rylance productions are still among some of the best Shakespeare (and theatre) I've been too.
This is a beautiful space even for a visit out of season.

Nice.

When given a "10am" ticket and told the tour would begin on time upon the ringing of a bell, no bell was ever rung. My family and I wasted a good portion of the morning waiting for nothing.

Gorgeous theater dedicated to an amazing playwright. Saw two productions and was disappointed by both. Not sure where things went wrong, but the execution of Shakespeare felt particularly crass (and he's a bit crass on his own, they didn't need to help.)

I went here because my partner is obsessed with Shakespeare. The gift shop has good prices and plenty of gifts to choose from. The staff was very polite and professional, I met a funny and interesting man who was looking for some very rare notes of Shakespeare. I did not see any performance but will do it in the future. Just can tell good things about the place. The coffee was great.

Watched Twelfth Night here. A great performance. The surtitles are useful for identifying which character is speaking: particularly useful in this production where many of the male parts were played by women and vice versa.

Shakespeare's Globe is so much more than a tourist attraction. It has quickly established itself as a leader in productions of Shakespeare, his contemporaries, and new writing, with a excellent programme throughout the summer. Stand as a groundling to get right up to the action, or get a seat - but remember to bring or hire a cushion, or you'll be uncomfortable on the bare wood.

This is Not to be Missed! Plays performed in a venue just as they were in Shakespeare's day! On rare occasion they provide an even more magical day with a trilogy of 3 plays noon, 4p &8p. The staff, both volunteers and paid, could not have been more helpful! Authentic to the original Globe , standing (for only 5pound) available in the yard directly in front of the stage. The roofed seating is on bare wood benches only maybe a foot deep. Cushions can rented for a few pounds. For fans of The Bard, This is Not to be Missed!

Great version of a winter's tale, a bit of rain did nothing to dampen spirits (we were standing). Good to see vigilant staff chastising people taking phones out to take photos too (seriously?! )

My first visit to the Globe, sad really, especially as l'm a Londoner!!!!! Thoroughly enjoyed "As you like it", an excellent comedy. Warning! Rent a cushion as the benches are hard and beware sitting in the sun for a three hour show......

Best place I've ever seen a show. Ever. Absolutely magnificent building, the production was mind blowing - we were seated on the back row which I would definitely recommend. Just brilliant!

The tour was very informative and enjoyable. In the beginning, everyone got a little description in their own language, including Hungarian, to better understand the place. As a first group, there were more opportunities and space to see everything, even the special lodges. He understood the time he spent here.

I'm sure fans know that the Globe theatre is open to the elements and that "groundlings" have to stand for the performance. Those under cover can hire cushions to sit on. Even so you go for the performances and atmosphere not for comfort. On this occasion I went to the Sam Wanamaker theatre for the first time. A very different theatre, great experience. Would highly recommend.

You need to know English very well because the guide speaks very fast for English and not for visitors of another language. But it is very interesting how it was rebuilt and you can also understand some of the motives of its creation by Shakespeare even if you know the English environment

I was there with my class and it is amazing to see how the first plays from Shakespeare were made. We came to England from Germany and I would like to come back as soon as I can to see more of London.

Very cozy restaurant, a beautiful view of the river and St Paul's cathedral. Polite and kind staff. I drank tea accompanied by a small serving of sandwiches, small sandwiches and various sweets. Understandable price-performance ratio. It's worth it if you're in London, recommended :)

The entrance and the river were not impressive to me. But going inside and having the tour were amazing. The tour guides described how the area looked like at Shakespeare's time and knowing details about the globe and its meaning and the plays that took place, that was impressive! Recommended for literature and history lovers.

To be honest I only went in because my wife wanted to, but I can honestly say it was one of the best guided tours we have been on. The guide was fun and made the tour interesting for everyone, even if you do not like Shakespeare's plays.

Great gastropub with amazing views of London from the river. It is connected to the Shakespeare s Globe theatre so great for a beer before or after a show. Also good for a stop if walking along the Thames.
