If you like Shakespeare - you must be here! The spirit of the era was given away perfectly. I really like the idea of the Master's Arts Store on DVD. (The lazy do not have to read) I was pleasantly surprised that Polanski's Macbeth film had quickly descended on them.

Interesting history around this place. It s not the original shakespeares globe but it s still worth going to. They need more things to do when waiting for the tour. If there s a performance you can t take pictures. Hopefully they won t have any when you re visiting this place.

Beautiful reconstruction of Shakespeare's original theater. The performance was wonderful- beautiful costumes, hilarious comedy and wonderfully inclusive with a mix of ethnicities and disabilities in the company.

The visit to the theater is certainly interesting, but it is a pity that the guide was a bit superficial and not very detailed in the explanation. The approach is too general and touristy. Nice to see the actors preparing for a performance. A bit expensive ticket (17 Pounds).

Absolutely amazing! The staff does a wonderful job directing one astounding amount of tourists through this landmark. The cast of the plays are wonderful and truly bring the iconic Bard's works to life. My fiancee and I were engaged here. We both like this place and could willingly spend our time here.

Amazing place for a guided tour (particularly funny and lively) or for a show. Jump into Elizabeth the First's England, the company will make you feel welcome and you can be sure to rediscover Shakespeare's plays in a way you didn't imagine.

Well, I believe the person who did the tour was Irish. She has red hair with bangs and wearing a scarf on the hair. She was the moist awesome speaker explaining everything with so much detail. It was great.

For a taste of theatre the way it used to be back in Shakespeares day you can t get better than the globe (and it s smaller indoor space the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse)
Not all shows here are Shakespearean and not all 100% in the original method but all are excellently produced!

We enjoyed the exhibition, very useful having the easy to operate audio guides. Also did the tour which was brought to life by a good Tour Guide and once again audio headphones enabled us to hear everything she was saying clearly. A very good and interesting experience.

This website gave false info. The food had bugs in it, and when I asked why they were in there, they claimed that it was part of the dish. Unless you like bugs, you shouldn't go here. Also, there were only 2 actors in this performance. very disappointed that I spent $400 on my ticket for this.

The second visit gave me the same goose bumps as the first time. Ask for the guide Jeremy, the atmosphere generated in the place allows you to feel even the smells of that time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

A very interesting guided tour, the Geralt guide explained very well in understandable English even at a medium level (including jokes). The exhibition before the visit is also very interesting

If you're wondering: they've got pillows for the seats, blankets for the cold, ponchos for rain, and drinks! Go despite the weather! My sister and I very much enjoyed "Much Ado" and we hope to come back.

We went on a school trip here. The guides were excellent as we had a tour of the theatre, allowing the kids to go on stage. The workshop afterwards on Macbeth was brilliant too. Completely age appropriate for Y3 and the leader had a great knack of holding the kids' attention.

What a marvelous place. A late 20th century (1997, to be exact) recreation of the original Globe Theatre that opened its doors back in 1598.

Regrettably, during my time in London, I was only able to attend the 1 hour guided tour rather than an actual theatrical performance, but I am glad I went on the tour.

It provides a brief but insightful look into the Theatre's history and Shakespeare's roll in that history. You'll also get to see the open air theatre and learn a little bit about what goes into putting on those plays.

Iconic place to discover Shakespeare and can feel very cosy to see the actors so close as up front. Recommend to get a cushion as you can be sat on hard benches for some time and it's mainly cash only to pay for the cushions. You can also get seats right at the back row of the lower gallery if you prefer to lean and have back support. Definitely worth the visit here!

We saw Antony and Cleopatra on a Thursday afternoon and it was a very good show. I am not even a Shakespeare fan and understood half of the dialogue but the themes are very rich. We got the cheap seats in the Yard which were very much worth it. We just arrived about 30 minutes early and we were able to be right on stage. I cannot describe in writing the caliber of talent which was made even more impressive being mere inches away from our faces. I am hoping to visit London again and plan to come here another time!

An open air theatre rebuilt according to the original. The price of the standing tickets makes it available to everyone - and it is the best way to enjoy the performance as the actors act towards the crowd to give a truly immersed performance!

The theater is very beautiful. It would be nice to see a show but there are only in the evening. You can visit only with guided tour and it is in English, sometimes not completely comprehensible. Highly recommended!

Really cool to see a play here, but be warned, standing for 3 hours gets incredibly tedious if you've spent the day wandering about the city.

Definitely book this on a day when you've had some down time beforehand, or spring for the actual seats. It'd be a shame to be too distracted by sore feet to enjoy the play.

Ana amazing theatre venue situated on the Thames which really embodies the spirit of Shakespeare. Performances are played fantastically as they capture the bard in the accuracy and quality, and informality and enjoyability. Standing tickets are vey reasonably priced and it is a evening out for all the family, especially for those who can't afford the West End major plays. Please note that the theatre is publicly run and opens its doors to many children visiting from around the world who are inspired to experience theatre in a very creative way.

This replica of the original globe theatre is a wonderful venue for contextualising the development of theatre in the Tudor period. I attended a contemporary adaptation of Romeo and Juliet with a small group and was really impressed with the ensemble casts passion and ability to engage with the audience. Couple of things worth noting- Because there is an open roof external noise can drown out the actors( we had a helicopter overhead for almost 15 mins!) and that there is no padding on the seats as per a tudor theatre so 90 mins on a hard bench.

Although it is not an original Theater of the Shakespeare eara it is worthwhile visiting. It is built upon scetches and drawings of other Theaters of that time. There are guided tours every hour and the guides are leading you back into the medivial. It Was very interesting.

Iconic. A must when in London. Saw Othello here which I thoroughly enjoyed. Have to remember to leave extra time for queuing as it is a very busy theatre. Also remember to dress for the weather as it is open air. We were in the side boxes and had mixed views to the stage but generally good. The wooden benches slightly uncomfortable but you can hire extra cushions.

I saw Love's Labours Lost at the Sam Wanamaker Theater. Unlike the other larger theater, this candlelit indoor space has no standing room and only seating. The only downside is that pillars obstruct your view unless you are sitting in front of the stage (don't bother paying extra for gallery seats with an "unobstructed view," the pillars are everywhere). I would recommend coming to a relaxed showing, because in this setting you're allowed to verbally react to the action on the stage (laugh, gasp, etc.). The actors even interact with the audience, hiding among them or even handing them props! I had a tremendous time at the Globe watching the worlds most talented Shakespearean actors and I recommend it to everyone who visits London.

I'm happy I chose to have a seat rather than the "standing only" down by the stage. I was only happy because I spent all day touring museums and the city and did about 10 miles by foot before the show started, If I had prepared a little better I would have just paid 5 pounds for standing if I didn't spend all day walking! But I sat in the upper level on wooden bench seating. I didn't opt for the cushion for an extra pound and I was fine with it. I loved the theater, the musicians were amazing and entertaining. It is an absolute must while visiting London, I didn't even bother with the west end shows.
