Eureka natives have respect for this zoo. It's small and there aren't many animals, but Eureka isn't a big place, either. The zoo's master plan is intriguing and I can't wait for it to be completed.

Very fun. Needs alot more things to do. More room for the eagles. Worth the money but, need more activities to fulfill the day. Wonderful staff and animals are very well maintained, but definitely needs more funding to be at full potential.

Two words: otter tunnel. This zoo was small, yes, but you could get really close to the animals. The zoo has red pandas, otters, bush dogs, gibbons, spider monkeys, a bald eagle, and a petting zoo and aviary. The food at the Funky Monkey Cafe (yes, really) was pretty tasty and reasonably priced. It was $8 to get in, and took us about 2.5 hours to see everything. Also, we got a 360 degree view of otters wrestling. Pretty awesome.

Staff was very helpful and friendly, especially the female staff in the farm area. You can tell that she really loves her job and enjoys talking about the animals. Thank you for an enjoyable time.

Had a great first zoo visit there with my 1 year old son. We loved how close we were able to see the animals, and the little activities availiable. We were able to see the animals at their mealtimes when they were very active, and really enjoyed ourselves. Definitely worth a trip!

We love to visit the Sequoia Park Zoo! The zoo keepers are friendly and willing to share their knowledge of the animals. Feeding times are some of our favorite times to visit with the zookeepers and watch the animals. The zoo is just the right size to visit for a few hours and enjoy each exhibit without rushing. The bathroom facility is very nice and easily accessible. Be sure to check out the Rainforest Room. And if you have an extra hour, ask for an Ed-venture brochure at the ticket counter and go on an educational treasure hunt/hike at the forest park surrounding the zoo.

Coming from LA, this so is definitely DEFINITELY smaller. But it's a charming place to visit that fully acknowledges their evolution as a park. The red Panda and bald eagles are great, and go visit Elvis the African Parrot in the aviary!

Maybe when there isn't a pandemic this zoo is rocking, but it wasnt when we went. Half the animals were gone, and you couldn't do half the things. We spent an hour here and we went so slow. I'm happy to spend the money to support them, but it wasn't really worth it.

Sequoia Park Zoo is a small sanctuary for a limited amount of animals. Here you will see beautiful birds, like majestic bald eagles and interesting animals like red pandas. The walk about is easy to do is wheel chair and stroller accessible. This family frendly place is an inexpensive day trip that though limited in interaction due to Vovid-19 prevention regulations is a great way to escape our new reality. Mask are required at all times. There are hand sanitizers placed throughout the park and staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.

Love this zoo. Some exciting things have happened since I was last here and it looks like many more are in the works. Unfortunately the river otters like to hide so I wasn't able to see them but maybe next time.

Out of towner here, we live in Nashville so we are used to a huge zoo, but to be honest we loved this zoo. My son loved the otter exhibit. How you could go in the tube and check them out! We loved the eagles and the chickens too. Plus the flower park next door was beautiful! It was super fun. If we go back to that area we will definitely be returning!

This is a smaller zoo but very enjoyable. If you want lions, tigers, and bears, you will not find them here. The flamingo lagoon is a "must see" attraction. There is a petting zoo for the younger members of your party. I would go back.

It would be better if they had a wider selection of animals. The otters and red pandas alone, are worth the price of admission though. In fact we're going on Sept. 19th for Red Panda Day ha ha.

We came on a super rainy day and I'm convinced we were the only two people in the park. The food place was closed and most of the animals were hiding. That said, we had SO MUCH FUN. We spent forever petting the donkeys, they were so friendly. Admission was cheap, the aviary with the eagles and owl and porcupine were also incredible. We saw a bunch of flamingos, chickens, rabbits, and goats too. I'm sure this place would have been even more exciting if we had come in on a day where the weather was cooperative. Seemed like a cool place, hope I can check it out on a sunny day. Thanks for having us! :)

Ignore the negative reviews. Sure this place is small, but what else would you expect? This place clearly takes very good care of their animals. They have a selection of animals that you dont typically see at zoo this small. Absolutely worth it. Especially if you stop by on a wednesday because admission is only $4.

A wonderful zoo focused on caring for animals no longer able to live in the wild, teaching about Humboldt's ecology. Beautiful setting, cute cafe and gift shop. Can't wait for the canopy walk to be built.

It's a kid size zoo. Unlike larger zoos, this one is just the right size for kids. Well laid out. The grandkids both enjoyed seeing the crested screamers -- quite a few eggs in the nest, and they were being turned. The flamingos were popular. Easy parking on the street. Very laid back atmosphere.

xI adore Sequoia Zoo. It's just a small zoo, so take your time and stroll through. Your little ones will love it. If you have been to many city zoo's you may be disappointed because of its size. But just to be walking among the redwoods is a huge plus. Next to the zoo is a little garden to see all the beautiful flowers that can grow in Humboldt County. Then when you are done with the zoo, go to the other side and there's a great park for the kids to play with slides nestled into redwood trees. Then you can go walk the trails in Sequoia Park! A beautiful redwood experience. Dont miss this charming zoo and adjoining park!

This zoo is small but perfect for young children! It is small, easy to peruse, and The otter enclosure is delightful with a small underwater tunnel kids can crawl through. The eagles are majestic, the owl mysterious, and the aviaries a delight. There is also a charming barn with some interactive displays and a petting zoo. My kids loved it and we did it in two and a half hours. The park next door is also fabulous with a breathtaking walking trail.

I was really impressed at how well put together this place is. There is a really cool interactive demonstration of how the watersheds work for kids, and there is a wonderful variety of animals to see. The habitats are put together very thoughtfully. This is an excellent way to spend some time with family.
