Great hiking day! Just a few of mushrooms we seen today
Small and just right for a quick and fun visit. Stop by Sequoia Park for a picnic afterwards to make an afternoon out of it.
We have a wonderful little Zoo we have a great otters exhibit we have wonderful barnyard which include so many things for Hands-On time
Loved the first time I went there. The zoo is small but animals are adorable and the food is great. The second time I went however they did not allow my esa cat to be there despite him being inside a carrier. I was told I could have a dog or a donkey at the zoo but not my cat who was inside a carrier who I only took because I had just gotten out of surgery and was in a wheelchair so I figured why not have my esa there since I already had bad anxiety but they didn't allow me to have him there and I was told to leave.
Brings back great memories as a kid, but it needs new different kind of animals
For being such a small zoo it is cute! The otters and red pandas were our favorites. Definitely more of an environment for kids not adults. Otherwise great facility
I love this zoo. So kid friendly. And the animals are well taken care of. Admission is cheap and a year pass is so worth it. The food is amazing. And there are some cute animals too. Do keep in mind new zoo hours are they close at 4pm. Probably winter hours
We did not visit the zoo we visited the Sequoia tree redwood tree park behind the zoo. Well worth taking a walk through that old medieval Forest
For a zoo they offer many opportunities tho educate families and young kids. They have many activities through out the year. The animal enclosures could really stand to be bigger for some animals however. The monkeys, raptor area and sea otters could use a little more space. Petting zoo is a huge hit with kids. There's plenty of staff nearby to evaluate trouble makers.
The zoo is currently closed due to covid-19, though google search shows that it is open to the public. I would advise calling before you drive hours to visit!
Very clean, fun place to visit. Rare animals never seen before.
I like the fact that it's in the middle of town and you wouldn't even know it unless you mapped things to do in Eureka. I like that all the trees surround you and there are lots of interesting facts and you can watch the feedings.
Cute small zoo in area next to Exellent park with awesome trail and trees.
Great small zoo! Staff is awesome. Animals are awesome. Kids love it. Can't wait to see them grow.
Small but cute, it was good that it had more species.
Fun neighborhood zoo. Also check out the playground and forest nearby.
For being a small zoo there is so much variety and things to do for small childten.
Gem of Eureka, the zoo has friendly, knowledgeable staff and the layout allows all ages to truly enjoy the wonderful animals and exhibits.
It's always fun to go here with the family. They've even got a petting/grooming area in the barnyard portion of the facility.
Family friendly, excellent choice of animals, lots of open space.
I'm not zoo material so I've never been inside - buuuuut the forest on the outskirts in the middle of the only city for a bijillion miles is truly breathtaking.
Small zoo but becoming more visually appealing over time.
Great place to relax. If you enjoy nature this is a good place to hike
Quaint little local zoo. Small but nice, the red Panda was really cute.
a variety of animals, many endangered or threatened. some are exotic, while others are locally-connected. small but very pleasant environment.
The grilled chicken sandwich on sour dough is so good!!!!
A lovely place, if I were to critique this place at all I would say that the food here is overpriced, so I would recommend not eating here or just bring your own food.
I love taking my kids here. They love the otters and l the other animals.
It's a lot nicer than when I was kid but they expect people in Humboldt to pay 8 dollars a person they are high
Perfect weather. Excellent views. Lots of fun. Sun AND Shade. Live ,cheerful music as a play rehearses in the background.
A nice selection of animals for the kids and very clean. Surprising for a small City. The residents should be pleased.
It's a small quiet zoo. Buy tons of charm. I really enjoyed it
Petting zoo so much fun for my 5 year old granddaughter!
For a small city it is great zoo, we get year pass every year. Enuff said
Small but super cool. The animals are well cared for, which is sooooo important to me.
Cute tiny zoo in a beautiful location!! The sequoia forest is right next to it. There s a aviary inside of it that was pretty neat.
Toddler zoo. I wouldn't bring older kids. It's very small: petting goats, a few birds in an aviary, and a little water area. There's a few other animals, of which none are too infusing except the monkies- they put on a good show at feeding time. Normal other amenities like a cafe (serving foods like french fries, hot dogs, and ice cream), bathrooms, and a gift shop.
It's small but the kids loves it. He loves the petting zoo and the monkeys. I could watch the bush dogs playing for hours.
This is a small zoo but it's the perfect size for small children. The food at the restaurant is yummy and reasonably priced.
Very well run zoo with wonderful and informative displays. Employees were great, friendly and knowledgeable.
They have interesting species I have never seen before. But other than that I think is overpriced. It is small and don't have many animals. It is the oldest zoo in California and they have been trying to shut it down for a while now due to the animal conditions. It is great to see also the Sequoia park close by and its lake.
I think I read this is the oldest zoo in CA. Wow! Bears and flamingos are interesting.
Small place. Great staff, very knowledgeable about they animals they care for. We got to see a feeding of a red panda and that was really informative.
We love coming to the Sequoia Park Zoo. My kids love the red pandas, the Barnyard (which includes a petting area!), and the otter display. The zoo keepers are friendly and share fun information about the animals at feeding times. The bathrooms are clean and convenient. The Secrets of the Forest Room is a fun way to end the trip, and is a great refuge if it starts to rain. Though we tend to stop at all our favorite animals whether or not there's rain.
We have a zoo membership and highly recommend getting one. Though you don't get tokens for animal conversation with the membership (otherwise you get one per child every visit). The zoo has a few admission options for low income famimies, including free family passes you can check out at the library, and ticket discounts for families with EBT cards.
We also appreciate that the zoo is right next to Sequoia Park and has a rose garden next door. That way, if we're waiting for friends, or not ready to leave, there are fun places to hang out before or after our zoo visit.
Its great. Nice cafe. Good little zoo. It only takes about 2 hours to see the whole zoo. The red pandas are really cool as well as the salmon tanks. Actually its all very nice and there are free mini libraries at the zoo to borrow a book or bring a book. Its also next door to the park so afterwards the kids can run amok on the playground. Great for an affordable day out with the kids. Bring a coat. Its always a little chilly.
Going to the baryard and getting see their frizzy chicken and pet the goats was my personal favorite part!
It's a small place, but the exhibits are nice as well as educational. My 4 yr old grandson had a great time. The petting area was also a big hit. Goats, sheep, llamas, etc.
A zoo, in the Redwoods? What's not to love?! Fabulous! Sweet and beautiful.
Great small zoo, kids can get really close and it doesnt eat up a whole day. Very clean and well kept
A great little zoo to explore especially with little kids.
It's the zoo. The kid loves it and the membership is so cheap. We go a lot in the summer.
Many memories of this location over the past 22 years
Smaller than I thought it was going to be. However was a really enjoyable experience. Our 2 year old loved the little petting zoo section.
Very cute. Some of the exhibits in the barnyard and inside need some attention and refreshing.
Park area, trails, BBQ, ducks, zoo garden. New picnic areas and dog walking! All in one place! Love it!
This place does a lot in a small area. The enclosures are well kept, and my kids never want to leave.
