Funny how a small zoo with passion can be 10 times better than a major metropolitan cities zoo woth budgets 100 fold than this place.

Caring nice docents and employees. More interested in caring for local and exotic animals.

Unique integrated learning exhibits teach while encouraging creative play. A Must visit

Great day looking at all the animals. Remeber going here as a kid with my dad telling me about him going here as a kid. Great stop. Would go again and again. Would work here if I could. Loved all the animals and the staff was friendly. Didn't get to try the cafe but it smelt amazing. Kids love the petting zoo part. Learned a few new things too. Can't wait to go again.

Absolutely loved this zoo! It's small but great! My favorites are definitely the river otters! They are super cute and their encolsure let's you be right up next to them as they playfully swim around!

The barnyard section was also great with a little petting zoo area with goats and a sheep!

All around I absolutely loved our visit and will definitely be coming back!

Good

Jewel of the Eureka Parks system. Paved and dirt trails, many dirt trails winding through the natural big trees wild rain forest setting. 2 kids' playgrounds, duck pond. Small city Zoo adjoins park, admission with fee. Fun to be there during feeding time - otters are the best. Wonderful park for (leashed) dogs, wonderful zoo for kids.

A beautiful gem hidden inside Eureka! The park is dog-friendly, but you just need to keep your pooch on a leash. There are lots of tall redwoods, tiny waterfalls, and shade-shade-shade everywhere! Perfect for hiding from the afternoon sun

Great little zoo! Even a barnyard petting zoo. There was a caretaker in the back who engaged with our daughter and made her day by talking about the bunnies. Had a lot of fun. The Red fox exhibit was super entertaining. I could've watched those cuties all day!

Very fun place to visit. I am so excited to see the new canopy walk. Fun venue for families, and Zootini, the benefit event is well worth attending. Plenty of interesting ways to learn about animals and science.

Amazing. I've been to this park many times and it is as impressive each time. The trees are indescribably amazing. The fact that they are right in town is shocking and every visit will move you.

Small, beautiful, and lots of fun. It's right next to the Zoo, so you can make a day of both of them.

A walk down to the duck pond always brings a smile to my toddler's face. I really enjoy this park.

Amazing place to take your kids for a wildlife adventure! They are lacking in the amount of animals compared to larger zoos, but still a fun place for a day outing. The price isn't too bad for the amount of fun your family will have.

Great little zoo a lot to do, the otters were acting a little shy and running all over trying to hide. All the staff was awesome and super nice. A lot of animals and you can walk within six feet of the eagles in there cage. They have feeding times so you can be sure to see all the animals for sure. Didn t get to try the cafe but it smelt awesome when we were walking around the zoo. The zoo was very clean no trash or gum etc around the walkways or over full bins. Small zoo but don t let that fool you.

Had such a fun day at the zoo with my nephew and sister today! It was so much fun seeing the raccoons play with snow for the first time and watching the silly otters! Sequoia Park Zoo never disappoints! The staff and volunteers are always so helpful and nice! Can't wait to come back with my nephew!

It's a small zoo, but it was clean and tidy, the animals seemed happy. Staff was friendly. I went by myself as a quick detour to stretch my legs on a long road trip and I'm glad I did. There's even a little free library here!

Sequoia Park Zoo is the first Zoo in the state of California! The Zoo has red panda's, bald egales, otters, and other fun animals to look at. The Zoo has a petting zoo to check out the goats, chickens, and pigs. I always have a good time going here. Great for the kids.

Baby flamingo, otters rolling and playing against the underwater glass with an exuberant 2 year old who wanted to play with them too. Free day at the Zoo was a fun treat. Red pandas and petting zoo and good ice cream cones. What's not to like?

Very quaint and well kept zoo. It is on the smaller side, but the difference is that unlike some larger zoos you are able to have a better view of the exhibits as well as more interaction with the animals. All of the staff are friendly and more than willing to answer your questions in regards to the animals. River otter and red panda feeding times are must sees.

yum

I grew up with only the best memories of this zoo. It was my favorite. Since the remodel, not only is there a price of admission, there s no more actual animals worth seeing. Don t get me wrong, paying to get into a zoo makes sense, but paying to see just a handful of animals is so disappointing. They paid a lot of money to renovate and make the zoo look nice over the years, but brought in none of the animals to make it an actual zoo. I miss the bears, lynx, and of course...THE PRAIRIE DOGS! The saving grace of this zoo is the zoo cafe. Legit good food. Oh, and the otters are the best.

This place is a hidden gem for a date, or just a couple hours of fun! The aviaries are beautiful, the eagles are massive, beautiful, and intimidating. The parrots in the other aviary both talk, and whistle. They gave my girlfriend and I a delightful greeting when they said Hello and the other began to whistle to be noticed. The otters are incredibly fun to watch, and the red pandas are the cutest to watch during their feeding time! There s a lot of animals to pet in the barn area and the entire staff is fun and knowledgable. It s a wonderful place for a wonderful time!

Considering the fact that Eureka CA has a posted population of approximately 37k people, the fact that is even a zoo here is amazing, and I attended the 110th birthday for the zoo which makes that fact even more amazing! I always enjoyed taking my sons here, they have amazing and informative staff, the zoo is always clean and kept, and the otters put on quite the show for the zoo goers! A must for anyone traveling through Humboldt. And for you residents, $82.00 is the price for an annual membership and it is well worth it!

Fun to visit for all ages. Love the red pandas and the river otters. They aren't always out, but when they are they're quite entertaining. Not expensive to get in, but like any public entertainment/family fun park, food can get pricy. Overall, small but quite enjoyable!

Great educational experience for "kids" of all ages. Fun interactive activities. I could tell the animals were well cared for, maybe even loved, by the staff. Their environments were clean and designed to be as true to their natural habitats as possible. An inspiring location amidst the beautiful Sequoias.

The park and trails have potential if it were kept free of smoke, alcohol, etc. It's beautiful, but families don't always feel comfortable or safe at this park because of the riff raff, transients, and some of the public events. The zoo itself is ok. Not a lot of animals but they seem to be trying to put their best foot forward and do a good job.
