I just wanted to take the time and Publicly appreciate all the Staff at Scott Clark Toyota, especially my salesman Mr. DJ Durst and Fiance Specialist Alan. My wife and I just purchased our 2015 Release Series 9 Scion TC from them and we were coming from Ohio to purchase it which normally would have been a difficult task for any dealership to handle everything for the sale but DJ and Alan made the process very swift and enjoyable. I would recommend this dealership to anyone and I myself would gladly make the 9 hour trip to purchase from them again. Thanks again DJ and Alan and to everyone else at Scott Clark.

Be sure everything on the vehicle work's before you leave and take ownership of the vehicle we just purchased a brand new 2021 SR-5 Tacoma and one of the first questions we asked the sales guy was about remote start because it wasn't on the key fob he insisted that all current Toyota's were activated by the Toyota app now and would be able to be downloaded after purchase. So from there we went to finance same story then moved onto the vehicle coordinator I think they call it which show you all of the features and prepare you to leave with the vehicle so again I requested her to help us with this she told my wife how to download the app and we did and it stated this vehicle was not equipped with remote start at this point I told her we needed to have it before accepting she stated it was equiped but since it was Saturday that the lady who activated it wasn't in but would activate it the first of the week so I called back Tuesday and spoke with service and they said that's not the way it works if the vehicle has it it would already be active. Upon finding out it was all a bold face lie from start to finish I attempted to contact the general manager left him about 10 messages on his voicemail because everytime you call they put you on hold and come back and say he's busy and say they will email him and for you to leave a voicemail also needless to say this is been going on for almost 2 weeks with no return call next step looks like BBB I've bought several new vehicles in the past few years and haven't come anywhere near being scammed and lied to like this dealer mill has done please stay as far as possible away. Should have knew when me and the sales manager got into it because she wasn't 100 percent sure about the truck and I told him that he insisted to us that she wanted it and I didn't want her to have it to walk out immediately then.

My second home is Scott Clark Toyota! Every promise they make they keep. Friendly, helpful, sincere, from Travis and Dan in sales, to Billy in service to Roman in finance, even the GM Mr Cline, got into the mix. No detail is too small and every customer is treated like the only customer. The ladies that offer the options and extras and the ladies who introduce you to your new vehicle, all are without a doubt top notch. And of course I can't forget about the ladies in the deli....no better fruit cup to be found on the planet. I honestly wish I had the money to buy a new car every week!

I am from Conover. Drove an hour to the dealership to find a 2019 Toyota Camry. I was hesitant about the price and was able to negotiate it down and now I love the car. Big thanks to Rafael Pena for helping me. He has been the nicest and most patient car salesman that I have ever met.

Would have been 5 stars but had to wait 15 minutes for car to be brought around following service. Other customers submitted their paperwork after me and their cars were delivered right away. I talked to 3 people about the delay. This happened the last time I brought my car in.

Awesome dealership!
Ryan Guest took great care of me during my recent visit. Although the wait time was longer than expected, Ryan constantly reached out to me to give me updates. Great communication between the advisors. I will definitely drive the distance to come back to Scott Clark Toyota.

I purchased my Toyota from Scott Clark Toyota brand new in 2007 and it runs very well! The service department is exceptional! I drive 26 miles to get my vehicle serviced there. I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to vehicle maintenance but Crystal Kush, the Assistant Manager of the service team, makes sure to answer all of my questions and she explains everything in a way that I am able to understand! I really appreciate her patience, knowledge expertise and she is personable. In this day and time, it's rare to receive red carpet service but Scott Clark Toyota is EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!

The deal for my used car went pretty smooth. Andy was attentive to my needs. We started to sign papers but I would not wait for finance as they were 8 deep. I came back two days later with an appointment but still had to wait 30 minutes. Andy and another gentleman drove my car back to my house while I drove the new car. Very nice gesture

Big thanks to Jimmy Nguyen and Scott Clark Toyota! They got me a great deal on a lease and took care of the sale without playing any games! From the initial contact to dealing with Philip Stroup in the finance office, and Mallory McDaniel helping me take delivery of the truck. The customer service is nothing I'd expect from a Toyota dealership, and more in line with luxury brands. I can't recommend this place enough.

Scott Clark Toyota is the absolute best place to p...

Scott Clark Toyota is the absolute best place to purchase and maintain a new or used vehicle. I've been a client for well over a decade and have referred many people who have experienced the same consistent professional service as me. The very minute you walk into the dealership you encounter a wonderful atmosphere of quality from the vehicles to the people there who are always available to help. In the past with other dealerships, buying a vehicle was a stressful event for me, not so with Scott Clark, in fact it is always a very pleasant experience that is actually enjoyable. I recommend that anyone looking to purchase or have maintenance performed on their existing automobile go there first to experience the honest, knowledgeable advise just like I have while getting the best deal you will find anywhere.

Sincerely,
Lynn Murphy

We love getting our Toyota vehicles serviced here. They are friendly and always very communicative about what needs to be fixed before touching everything. They always estimate your wait time, and they have reliable WiFi and huge waiting area. There is a little cafe and coffee place and even a manicurist here. It s nice to know they are keeping a record of everything done to your vehicle and being a dealership, they are always up to speed on the latest recalls and any vehicle issues.

I had the pleasure of recently purchasing a vehicle from Scott Clark's Toyota. My sales person was Justin Michaud. I received A++ customer service from the second I walked in the door! Justin was there every step of the way through the whole process. He was extremely kind and knowledgeable. Justin, as well as Scott Clark's Toyota come highly recommended for a vehicle purchase! I would gladly recommend them to my friends and family.

Whatever you do...literally anything else you do is better than coming to this dealership! Drove over 2 hours to get here on a word of mouth of what a sleazy salesman told me. And, of course, when you get here...the story and deal changes drastically. What a waste of time! I would never wish this experience upon anyone!! I will go out of my way to let everyone know NOT TO COME HERE! I hope they dont sell another damn car! They deserve nothing but to go out of business.

My mom and myself came in on Saturday 4/18/2020. We was able to get the car my mom wanted. Staff was really helpful in the beginning. We met with Jennifer (J-lo) and Kenny. We was asked did we want a extra key fob. We was charged $400 as they said only one key came with the car and we paid. After the 5 hours of us being there test driving and signing papers, we finally get to leave and they hand us the second key which I feel like we got cheated because I think they had the extra key all along/ just another way to get extra money. So we leave and returned 10 minutes later to explain the sunroof and glove compartment don t work properly. The front desk lady came out to assist but was also unsuccessful. She made a note and said someone would reach out Monday to have it brought back to fix it. Spoke with Johnny this morning but he originally didn t call for our issues but did say he would have someone to call as well. Still no call from Scott Clark for our issues.

My first new car!

My first new car!

I went to Scott Clark Toyota in Matthews not really sure what to expect because I have never bought a new car. We always get our cars from family friends/mechanics. I was a little skeptical, but honestly the whole experience went above and beyond my expectations. I visited another dealership nearby & Scott Clark Toyota blew them out of the water in all areas. First of all the site was awesome. Very clean, shiny, accommodating, open & comfortable. Every person I came in contact with was friendly and willing to help. James Rucker was the first person we really sat down & talked with. He was very easy to talk to, approachable, helpful & knowledgeable. The next time we came back, Travis Wilson & Jason Liles were available to meet with us and they walked alongside of us throughout the rest of our process. They both were super friendly & I genuinely liked both of them. They weren't pushy at all & were really understanding of what we were looking for and how much we could spend. I really appreciated that. They made this so easy for me, someone who had never really experienced shopping for a new car. I feel confident about my decision to buy from this dealership and already have recommended them to friends who are looking. I can't say enough good things about Jason & Travis. I have especially been really impressed with how Jason has continued to follow up with me and make sure everything is going good with my car & to ask if I needed anything. Overall, I would recommend these two to anyone and this dealership. Thank you so much for everything!

Went to look at a car there and they were relentless and made it very difficult to leave even though I repeatedly told them I was not going to buy the car today, I was only looking. They would not give up, I understand they are sales people and that is their job but they were so pushy. The more they pushed the more I did not want to buy the car from them. Eventually after the sales person kept pushing me to get the car that day he brought his manager out who told this extremely long irrelevant story. I continued to repeat for about an hour and a half as they kept pushing for me to buy the car that I had no intention of buying that car that day. Then everyday for about two 2 weeks after they called sometimes up to 10 times in a day. It was ridiculous they would not leave me alone. Would not ever go here again.

I highly recommend Scott Clark's Toyota City for ALL of you automotive needs!

After sitting in the waiting room for almost 2hrs after I was told that my car would be ready, I finally went to track someone down and turned out my car had been ready and waiting. I'm not familiar with this service location because I was just visiting the area when my check engine light came on and didn't want to make the 4hrs drive back home with it. I hope it was fluke, or maybe my regular service location has me spoiled.

Very well run dealership, there was no hassle or stereotypical salesmanship. Craig Rose was very easy to deal with and went to great lengths to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. We weren t expecting to leave with a vehicle, but the team went to great lengths to ensure they gained our business without pushing us into a vehicle (cost and model) outside of our budget. The entire process only took a few hours (including a test drive, appraisal and trade in). I doubt I d buy a vehicle in the future from a different dealership.

We just purchased our 2nd vehicle and could not be happier. The care given us from Brittany Tart while selecting a vehicle, the above and beyond diligence, friendliness, service and care given us by Leudy Pichardo in the finance dept., and the knowledge and patience from Kathryn while teaching us the ins and outs of our vehicle was simply outstanding. Each of these employees deserves a raise, a bonus of some sort, and a genuine pat of their backs from their employers. PLEASE ask for the help of these 3 employees when you visit the dealership.

Beware!!! Bought my daughter a used Kia Soul with just over 100k miles. They showed me the carfax with three open recalls. When asked about the recalls I was informed the vehicle was checked over by their mechanics and all the recalls and more were taken care of. Was told they could not sell an unsafe car.. We were told we would have to purchase the vehicle as is because it had just over 100k miles.

A few weeks after purchase the check engine light came on and was told by Scott Clark Toyota that the gas cap was probably loose or bad. Bought a new gas cap and this did not fix the issue. Got a diagnostic on the vehicle and was informed the catalytic converter was bad. Checked the recalls that they assured me were taken care of prior to selling me the car and found out they were not taken care of. Luckily Kia replaced the catalytic converter for free under the recall. The recall also stated possible engine damage from the catalytic converter overheating.

My daughter has driven this vehicle less then 6000 miles since purchase and the engine seized up. I still owe almost $6000 for a vehicle that does not work. I would never of bought this vehicle if I knew the recalls were still open and could cause engine issues. Again, I was informed the recalls were taken care of and that a full inspection was conducted showing everything was ok. Well, I would have to say they were wrong and now I'm stuck paying the remaining $6000 on a broken vehicle. Not something you want to deal with, especially as a first responder with everything going on with the current pandemic.

Heard really good things about this dealership and am disappointed.

Always great service! Everyone is very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient with my time. They inform you of additional services offered and don't do anything extra you don't agree on, they are very up front with their prices. And to top it off, they even wash your car before it is delivered back to you. I usually make an appointment and just drop my car off or sometimes stay and grab some lunch at their mini kitchen/diner. I've been going here for year and they just keep improving!

This is review of our salesman, Christian Carney:

I've dealt with well over 30 car salesman in my lifetime. None have provided the positive experience Christian has. He has a calm demeanor, is incredibly personable and has gone above and beyond to provide incredible customer service both during the sale and afterwards. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use Christian again myself for a future purchase.

If management is reading this I would say you better do what you can to keep Christian on your team. If another dealer steals him away it would be a great loss for you.

Very bad experience. Sales staff was not knowledgeable on product. Sales office support played with MSRPs presented. Two levels of sales staff lied over multiple days about a car that was coming from another lot but was never ordered causing major issues for my family. Could not get management to call us back while sales staff was lying about car delivery. Finally got a call from GM of lot who admitted his sales staff lied but his statement was they told a story to protect the dealership. What about the customer? Think Scott Clark should spend less on marketing and more on training staff to be professional, honest and knowledgeable. In the end Scott Clark did not even offer to compensate us for the days without a car or the stress they put us through.

Terrible Experience! We spent hours getting to a deal only for them to then say my finance company (Ford Credit) wouldn't allow me to trade in my car to them. Of course, they did offer to do my deal without my trade! Next day I call Ford and the Ford dealer I bought the car from and verified I could indeed trade in my car to a Toyota dealership. Called Scott Clark back multiple times but they would not return my calls.
Bottom line is they offered me too much for my trade and then lied to get out of it.
Going to Hendrick Toyota tonight trade in my car and pick up the same exact vehicle for $100 more than Scott Clark would do.
These guys are unprofessional at best and closer to scam artists.

We had some work done to our 10yr Lexus 350. We had spark plugs, an ignition coil and front and rear head gaskets replaced. Karl Brooks was our point of contact. He was professional and courteous. I purchased my truck here. That was in itself a painful process and took literally an entire day. That's an entirely different conversation. Anyway, recently I took it in for the 20k service and had a terrible experience. They told me it would take 70 minutes.. it took 3+ hours! I was so frustrated and ready to leave I didn't realize they didn't even change my oil change sticker on the window. I checked the paperwork and supposedly they changed the oil, drove it through the wash and everything else for the service. I can tell you for 100% they didn't take it through a carwash, so obviously this has me curious if they really changed the oil or did anything? I'm starting to think it just hung out in the bay for 3 hours.

Reposting for a friend: You ever have a small even...

Reposting for a friend: You ever have a small event escalate to a point beyond belief? Turns out the GM at Scott Clark Toyota needed to take action in response to my poor google review I wrote this morning. By taking advantage of his access to my personal phone number, calling me and attacking and threatening me over the phone.

Starts out the conversation by introducing himself as Jimmy the GM and telling me he has worked there for 30 years and he was upset and he wanted to discuss my google review. I asked him if he thought it was appropriate to be calling my personal phone number about this, since I had already spoken with customer relations earlier today and explained my position

So he goes right in to calling me a liar and an awful person for writing so many lies on google about his dealership. He was immediately super emotional. I tried to get him to explain what he thought I was lying about. He didn't respond to anything I asked (I asked him several times what the point of this phone call was, why is he calling and harassing me when it's perfectly legal for me to express my opinion on google reviews, what did he expect me to do and he didn't address any of those questions)

Then he began to attack me personally for "falling for a bad loan to begin with" and "you clearly don't know how car sales works". "Of course dealership maintenance will cost more because they're certified", "we would never try to pressure you to buy a vehicle if it wasn't in your best interest" "our main goal is to serve the customer, not sell cars" "how dare you write such horrible things" "you're a nasty woman and you have a nasty mouth for a woman" (I may have said the f word in passing after he started insulting me, whoops?). I think him saying all this was supposed to be changing my opinion about the dealership? Not sure.

He asked me to, so I explained why I didn't enjoy my experience at his dealership with specific details (that I already fleshed out in my review), he kept talking over me and it was clear he had no intention of hearing or addressing my complaints.

Aaaaand that's when things got out of control. His voice got super high pitched and he began yelling. He no longer had any logical defense to my complaints and started threatening me. Some of his threats included "You don't even know what will happen to you if you ever set foot on this property" "I have all your info right here in front of me, address and all, you just wait and see what I'm gonna do" "I'm gonna sue you for slander" (I think he meant libel, but he doesn't really have a case considering I never told any lies in my review). He ended the conversation with "you just wait and see what happens to you because of this, you'll regret writing that review" and hung up on me.

So naturally, I called the union county sheriffs department to file a complaint that I was being threatened and harassed by the GM of Scott Clark Toyota. Over a negative google review. Yeah. I had to say that to a police dispatcher

She informs me I have to either go to the scene and file the report or come to the police department. So I met an officer at Scott Clark Toyota. We filed the report and then he escorted me to the front desk where I asked the receptionist to remove all my personal info from their files. I briefly explained to her that the GM was taking advantage of my file to call and harass and threaten me about a bad review I wrote. She ASSURED me that there was no way it was him. He would NEVER do that, that's crazy. So I showed her the extension I got the call from, and she looked at me bright eyed and told me "Wow. That's his desk. I really can't believe it."

She deleted all my info from their computer and I asked her to inform the GM and anyone else who was involved that I wish to never be contacted by anyone at this establishment again, and to let the GM know that I have filed a police report against him.

I'm honestly still in shock that it turned into this. I guess I'll leave this with saying "I had a pretty unsatisfactory experience at Scott Clark Toyota"

Brought my 2017 Tacoma here for 90% of my service ...

Brought my 2017 Tacoma here for 90% of my service needs and these guys seem to be either incompetent or stupid, don t really think there is a difference.
First, truck had and still has wind noice/hissing that is coming from the front windows and door weatherstripping. It took them few months to admit there was a problem and that was after I physically test drove the truck with one of their tech s. Their solution, let s grease the weatherstripping. - I ended up gluing it to the Car, seems better now. However, I don t know if it s a poor design or cheap/poor side windows, there is more wind noice coming from the front of this truck than from the Ridgeline, GM twins and I think 4Runner is not as noisy either.
Second, truck had clunking sound when going over bumps. Few months past, they can t pin-point it and they can never hear the sound, unless I drive it. - they replaced cab mounts and the problem was still not fixed.
Third, on 10/16/2017 I brought the truck in for the same clunking sound complaint and also possibility of an early ball joint failure, as well as howling sound coming from the rear diff at 40-60 mph range, around 55ish mph. They told me that no one test drove the vehicle and it will need to be left overnight. After I refused to leave the car overnight, service manager said that the vehicle had been test driven and problem was not found. - Lier(s). Picked up the truck and sure enough, problem still exists.
Fourth, 10/28/2017-picked up the truck from the dealership, had the same clunking sound as stated above, 9 hours after appointment time - that is working on it for two days, the solution is; the work that they have previously done is shoddy and the bolt for the mount is not tight, greased the cab mount and tighten the bolt. Looks like this place likes to use grease on everything, weatherstripping and now cab mounts. Don t they know that rubber and grease do not mix. Well, it does mix-rubber turns into jello . Also, whomever was test driving this vehicle used it as a Nascar test truck, they managed to lower my Average mpg by over 1 mpg, after I had about 300 miles on that tank of gas. Problem still not fixed.
11/3/2017-Took the truck for the following problems:
* Clunking sound on the front end, different sound when going over bumps - 2 clunking sounds. - they can now hear it too. Hmmm, I wonder what changed.
* Squeaking sound from the rear suspension when the vehicle is rocked back and forth.
* Wind hissing when driving and hvac is on.
* Windows are making the cracking noice when cracked open.
* Windows are vibrating and making noice when driving with them cracked open.
* Howling sound between 40-60mph, from the rear. Could be rear diff.
* Rattle, could be dash and rear view mirror - cold days first drive.
* Engine knocking with all of the fuel choices, when accelerating.
* light came on for service and asked to get it done - not done.
Solution to all of these are:
A. We did no hear/notice anything of such nature.
B. Need to remove the front fender to access the suspension and therefore, visit the toyota body shop - really? Since when you take fenders off for this?
C. Visit the body shop for the front end and then we will work on the back end. - ummm what? Basically, let s fix your teeth before checking the colon .

FYI TO THE DEALERSHIP: You might have better luck B/S ing a soccer mom or a pencil pusher . - even after the toyota rep reached with the post below - still not fixed.

Update: per field tech:
* all of the new Tacoma s have a howling sound coming from the rear end and there is no fix. - if you are ok with driving the vehicle with howling sounds - otherwise, do not buy.

We had such an enjoyable experience buying a car from Robert Van Alstyne that my husband and I want to invite him over for dinner to celebrate.

I m not kidding. It was that pleasant. I had emailed five dealerships asking for a price on a Toyota Highlander Limited on a Friday night. Rob responded immediately and sent me a price within a couple of hours. By 11 a.m. Saturday, the four others had responded, but no one else gave me a price.

My husband and I went to Scott Clark Toyota and asked for Rob. The car I had inquired about was sold the day before, so he showed us others. He carefully pointed out all the features and the shortcomings such as, If you have seven people in this car, there s not much room for luggage. How refreshing not to be over-sold!

Rob s previous career owning and operating a high-end custom landscaping company (typical projects in the $25K-$200K range) prepared him well for his current role. The level of service Rob provides is what you d expect with a luxury vehicle, but it s at a Toyota price!

Rob has stayed in contact with us in the three weeks since we purchased. You can tell he really wants his customers to be happy with their vehicle of choice.
Since buying my new Highlander, I ve been reflecting on my first job answering the phones on Saturdays at a local car dealership while I was in high school. The schedule the sales force works is brutal late into the night, every weekend and every holiday. Potential customers make appointments, and then do not show up. People naturally come to the car buying process with a defensive stance. And, the sales people put their lives in jeopardy every day jumping into cars with strangers test driving. It takes a hard worker who is not faint of heart to sell cars and be successful. That s Rob.

When you have an amazing car-buying experience, you have to document it. Rob is a gem, and everyone we encountered with Scott Clark Toyota was excellent. When you are in the market for a new Toyota, Scion or a previously-loved car (like the one I traded in), we highly recommend Rob and Scott Clark Toyota.

Plus, the complimentary manicures when you have your car serviced at Scott Clark Toyota are sweet!

My sons and I surprised my husband with a car, for an early father's day gift. Johnny, the salesman went above and beyond to help get the car I wanted for my husband. He didn't pressure me nor was he a fast talker. James, the finance guy, made this sale and transaction smooth and easy. When we are in the market for another car, we will DEFINITELY come back!!!!! Thank you so much Scott Clark Toyota, Johnny, and James!!!
