This review is from a Parent of 2 Campers and a Coach. Combined my children have attended three weeks so far at the Wootten Basketball camp and are going back for two more this summer.
A couple of years ago we started going to the camp with my daughter and since then, 9 of the girls from her High School team have started to come too and are going back again this coming summer.
After experiencing the Wootten Camp and some of the other fundamental camps, the girls only want to come to this camp.
I ve also compared the Wootten Basketball Camp to those other camps with responses from players and coaches from our area too and this one stands out above them all. In my opinion this is the best camp anywhere for what the players get out of it, as far as what they learn, the competition, the facilities, the food and the energy they get out of each day at the camp.
This is a great camp where the players learn from Coach Joe Wootten personally. His attention to the smallest of details continues to impress me.
The camp is run extremely professionally by Joe and Terry Lynn and they work tirelessly with the campers, staff and families to make this one of best experiences your child can have.
Joe is constantly working to teach and mentor the campers from early morning and late into the night. And in the dorm as well as on the courts, he and Terry Lynn are always involved with the campers the entire week.
The staff, and especially the Commissioners, are extremely professional and bring a wide base of knowledge of the game and skills to the campers as well as the fundamentals that are all taught by Coach Joe.
I m very happy with my sons experience at camp too. As a newer player / camper the life lessons he s gained and the friends he s made, gives me a great sense of pride in him not just with direction he is going with his game but also in life. My wife and I immediately noticed improvements to his game but more so the improvements in his confidence both on and off the court.
We live over four hours away from the camp and on the ride to camp we are excited and play games to pass the time. On the ride home though both of my children each talked to me on separate trips back non-stop about their experiences at the Wootten camp and always ask right away to go back each summer.
I hope this review helps if you re considering sending your child / children to this camp.
