Pizzeria Locale is our all-time favorite Boulder restaurant. The Mais is one of the best pizzas in the world. A perfect dinner at Locale starts with the bruschetta, then the Mais pizza, a glass of the hour red wine (which is kegged in Italy and shipped over, so it's always fresh), and finished with the Saltimbocca con Nutella. Try it, and you'll be hooked just as we are.

Authentic pizza and Colorado beer, what could be better? My boyfriend and I sat outside and got to experience the beauty and splendor of Boulder as a backdrop to our delicious meal. They say the pizza is single serve, but we were able to split a margarita pizza and left feeling satisfied. The service is top notch and the food is high quality and tasty. Will definitely be back the next time we go to Boulder

Good food but so loud. We went there recently, and not only was I basically unable to talk to my date, but by the end I literally had a headache. Hope that they can figure something out because otherwise the food at atmosphere are very cool.

Oh my gosh, this is the place I want to go when visiting family in Denver. I have been here twice, it's always busy, which is a good sign. Always had a reservation so we never had to wait to be seated. Space is tight but they make it work. Drinks, salads, appetizers and of course Pizza! They serve it up quickly and professionally and it is so good! It's fun seeing the chefs behind the glass working their magic. I cannot wait to go back!!

Upside: Outside seating, decent decor, staff is friendly, decent menu selection, alcohol and non alcoholic drinks. Food was good.
Downside: Somewhat pricey. Two small pizzas and two beers, one glass of wine $63. Wish waitress would've stopped a little more.
Comments: The pizza was good but not loaded with toppings like most places do. This is a traditional style.

Such a cute little pizza place. The interior is very modern and cozy. Loved the combination of white walls, black kitchen, and marble tables. The whole place and the pizza is definitively Instagram worthy . Our server was very delightful. He explained the whole menu, as the dishes are written in Italian. He recommended a few favorites. We got the Maiale, substituted the red sauce with creme fraiche and garlic oil. The wait was short and the pizza was delicious! We thought one pizza would be enough, but it wasn t. Or maybe we just ate the pizza too fast. We ordered a second, the Mais. It was equally as delicious! Loved that it was Italian style eating with a knife and fork.

Best pizza in Boulder! The only reason I don't come every time I want pizza is that it's usually out of my price range (~$15 per pizza). A friend said that their Italian friend said it was like in Italy!

The ambiance was wonderful and my server was very attentive. The pizza was a large plate size and was a fork and knife style, with no slices. Slightly greasy. A little on the higher side for price- paid $15 for a filling yet delicious corn, prosciutto, mozzarella pizza and $4.50 for a small sized latte. They have pizza with marinara sauce or pizza with a mozzarella base as well as appetizers and salads. The daily specials were actually reasonable prices ~$9.00 entree.

Amazing, authentic, upscale restaurant. The venue's antique prosciutto slicer is a charmer. You need to set a reservation a few days in advance to secure a table at this hip establishment.

The pizza was limp and not particularly flavorful. We ordered chickpea fritters as an appetizer and received pork meatballs instead, which was a problem as my husband is a vegetarian and took two bites before we figured it out. Not pleased.

The best pizza place in Boulder, I've been here many times! they use very good local ingredients! Can't go wrong with anything you would order here! The tomato salad was amazing, also the prosciutto Pizza was very flavorful. The Nutella Pizza is a must try for dessert! Also they have a very good wine selection. If you can get a seat at the main bar you would get to watch the chef preparing the food through the glass, which is very entertaining

Let's talk favorite places in Boulder, yep, this is one of 'em. Wow, where do I begin? Everything I, my friends, or family have eaten there is amazing. And I've had some things there that I generally would never try, like the Pizze Bianche - Mais. What? Pizza with corn and creme fraiche?Such wonderful flavor combinations. And the butterscotch pudding is one of the BEST deserts I've ever had. I would have never ordered butterscotch pudding but my daughter and I moved seats at the pizza bar one night to make extra seating available and the manager comped us a dessert to say thank you. He insisted we try the pudding. My doubt turned to jubilation. The food is great, the wine is delicious and the service is outstanding. You should eat at this place but not if you want a quiet romantic date. It's loud, energetic and your table is close to others. Make a reservation so you don't have to wait around and enjoy!

Great pizza, and a great spot, especially if you have a flexible schedule and can grab a late lunch from their Aperitivo menu (from 3:30-5:30). For five dollars you can get the very minimal, yet very tasty marinara pizza. Sit outside on a warm afternoon, do a little people watching while you get your grub on, and tackle the seemingly bottomless sparkling water they bring you.

Too doughy!

Too doughy!

Lovely atmosphere, excellent service, but... the pizza is undercooked, too doughy and "stays with you" for a looong time.

This is a must add to your foodie lists of great spots to go and visit while in Boulder. The pizza is awesome! Simply stated dough is light and thin with the crust puffy and perfectly baked in their pizza oven. It's the way pizza should come out - rustic and flavorful!! I have enjoyed several of their pizza variations and all equally make me crave them more.

The pizza was delicious. It's really fun to watch them make the pizza at the counter. The chefs we're a finely tuned machine. The service and the atmosphere we're superb. The staff gracefully juggled a busy restaurant.

Extremely friendly staff, great service, and really good pizzas with well-fermented dough, dramatic cornicione rise, high quality toppings, and an it-all-happens-right-here food prep and wood fired oven. This place was great.

Great location but the pizza was stupidly expensive. Also at the end of the meal they give you these laughable 'postcards from italy' which were of a heating duct. It's hard to explain but it was so ridiculous and become a joke among people. I liked sitting outside and people watching

This place can be crowded but this is some of the best pizza I've had! You can sit and watch the food being made or have a normal table. The whole process was pretty fast too which is impressive for a pizza place

My son & I went here for dinner recently. Amazing Neapolitan pizza & the ambiance is great. Hard to get seats here but we sat near the wood fired oven so we can watch the pizzas being made!!

The staff were super friendly. In addition to the pizzas, the Gelato was yummy!!
I highly recommend if you are in the Denver/Boulder area.

The pizza is good, for sure. As are the wines, and the apps et al. But the pricing is out of control. You're paying for the brand. The serving staff and hostesses make you feel like you owe them for being there. Far too pretentious for my tastes.

We used Google to make a reservation, met a couple of friends there for lunch. Service and good were excellent. We split a Margherita pizza, I had frutti de mare, my wife had a salad. Wonderful.

Decided to order takeout based on positive reviews but received horrible service from the male hostess. Arrived at 8:05 to pick up an order ready at 8:02. Checked in with the hostess who said he would check on the order. He went inside and 5 mins later returned but saw friends of his that he broke Covid guidelines with to greet and shake hands with. They inquired about getting cocktails despite the female hostess already telling them they could not due to waiting list and covid restrictions. He said he would find something and make it work. 15 mins later he returned and set them up on the patio with two barstools. I then checked in with the female hostess when it was clear he was of no help. She immediately returned with the order which upon checking all items they were all room temperature at 8:35. For a $75 order and the requirement to put tip in before picking up the order the service was horrible. Food once rewarmed was good but the service left a horrible experience in our memory. If you order to go, do NOT tip until you pick up your order first or risk rewarding poor service.

Disappointing. Ordered their large shells pasta dish for $16 and it came on a side plate, four 3" shells lightly filled. The bread on the side was larger than the main dish. If it was a $7 appetizer, fine, but as a main course it was insulting. Flavor was good.
My wife's pizza tasted good and was of appropriate size, but was difficult to cut as it was stretchy and not crisp in any way.
I wouldn't return.

Delicious pizza, excellent service. We had the mushroom and mais and margherita. Best funghi pizza evah! Alec and the team were incredibly attentive without being intrusive. Get the budino for dessert.

The pizza here is beyond good. We had a simple margarita and it has so much flavor. We also decided to try the diavolo, the flavors woke your mouth up. The dough was incredible. We also got to try the slice prosciutto, amazing salty and flavor. If you are in Boulder, go and see this place. Great staff , small little tables. You can watch them cook everything from anywhere in the restaurant. Greatness

Best pizza I've ever had... and I eat a lot of pizza! I have been to Pizzaria Locale dozens upon dozens of times to enjoy a glass of wine and a gourmet pizza. They make their own dough and it is by far the best dough I've ever had. My wife and I have a farm share every year and we also frequently buy dough balls and make pizza with our veggies.

It's expensive as hell. $12 for 6 miniature meatballs equivalent to 2 medium meatballs at an Italian restaurant--That's highway robbery. How can they justify that??????
Bottom line, our lunch was $55 before tip---$65 with tip for 2 people---That's with no drinks. Two individual pizzas, that crazy priced meatball appetizer, and a desert. Honestly, I think that's crazy expensive for me. I'm not a $65 lunch for two kind of person. So many other reasonable eateries. The other thing I hate is these two person narrow tables that you have no room to set anything on, and you're cramped next o the other table. You have no privacy. Shuck one for experience. Live and learn!

10 out 10 would recommend. Had a friend who visited and was still dreaming about their pizza. I can see why. The sauce is everything. The crust is flavorful. But let's be real the prosciutto is divine.
