Karen B. greeted me with a smile after waiting only 10 - 15 minutes in the waiting area. I hadn't had a 3-D mammogram before, and didn't know what to expect. She was very gentle and the experience went quickly.

I have been taking my Mom there for a variety of orthopedic and cardiac issues for the past decade. All I can say is that the quality of care seems to constantly be diminishing as well as the morale of the staff. This past weekend I took her to the emergency room with a concern for urosepsis. My sister joined me there as well. No one was smiling or seemed to care about how she was feeling. No one introduced themselves or told us what their role was in her care. Only 2 staff people washed their hands before they put on gloves to provide her care. They were not using sanitizing gel either. This is NOT best practice. No handoff occurred between staff when a change of shift occurred. The best experience was with Dr. Williams, who was very patient with her and explained everything to us as we went along throughout the afternoon. I am at a total loss of where to take her now, as if this is how she is treated in the emergency room, what will the care be on the floor? As we were ready to leave, she was missing her prescription and I had to go back to the RN to obtain it. The valet attendant even had an attitude and we witnessed him arguing with another client, then storm off - obviously I did not let him retrieve my car - I just asked for the keys and got it myself. Everyone in that dept. needs to retrain in customer service and reflect on why they went into healthcare.

My wife, Joyce, arrived as a very sick woman. She needed open-heart surgery, the resection of the central septum and replacement of her mitral valve. 3 days in the ICU, and 6 days on the 7th floor. Everyone was FABULOUS, and everything was coordinated. The July, 2018 issue of Consumer Reports came today - our first day home. Sarasota Memorial is rated as high as any hospital in the US for Open-Heart Surgery

As a heart patient, Type 2 diabetic and also prone to anemia and after living in the Sarasota area for nearly 6 years, I can highly recommend Sarasota Memorial Hospital (SMH) as the best in our area, served by outstanding physicians and giving excellent service to its patients. I've been hospitalized there on a number of occasions and have always found the staff very helpful and caring and the clinical care to be outstanding. It is far better than other Sarasota and Manatee County hospitals, in my opinion.

I Steve Lebel went to SMH on June 22nd at 3:00pm in the E.R. I told them what was going on with me. I told them that I have Croh'ns desease and I been going to the bathroom at least 7 to 8 times a day for 2 weeks. I had diarrhea with alot of blood. So they took a CAT SCAN and blood from me. We waited until 11:00pm when the doctor came in and told me that there wasn't anything wrong with me. They gave me a name of a GI doctor in Sarasota they said he was the best around. So the next day which was Friday I called DR Mitchell 3 times I left messages every time. He never return any of my calls. So I had to go through the whole weekend with diarrhea and blood stools. So on Monday I went to ST. PETERSBURG V.A they did the same tests that SMH did. When the doctor was done looking at the CAT SCAN they saw a large mass in my colon and rectum. They couldn't believed

that Sarasota Memorial Hospital didn't see it and they say that they're a 5 star hospital. They billed my insurance almost $11,000.00 for nothing. I feel very disappointed with the service at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Present a feverish picture and my doctor's nurse told me to go to the emergency, once there, my difficulties began in the hospital. The emergency personnel very rough, it seems that they are not trained to treat sick people, for example, they had me almost 4 hours and they never offered me a blanket for the cold. When going to take a blanket from a cabinet had a very large broken, try another and the same, another the same ... then I was taken to the room that I was assigned, broken sheet, bed mattress with a hole for use, the curtain to privatize broken and unusable. I asked for an extra blanket for my wife and they never brought it to me. In conclusion, I do not recommend this hospital.

Grossly incompetent staff, top to bottom. My mother was misdiagnosed 3 times by the ER staff and sent back to her assisted living facility. After her 4th episode, was sent to another hospital and correctly diagnosed with life threatening low levels of sodium, urinary tract infection and fractures in her spine. I will be pursuing a malpractice lawsuit against these criminals. Shame on you Sarasota Memorial, how do you sleep at night?

The Sarasota Memorial medical staff are wonderful, but their business office and billing department are pathetic. SMH will not let you in the door for an outpatient procedures unless you pay up front, but they cannot tell you the cost of your services beyond "it will be very expensive." SMH then waits an extended time to submit to the services to the patient's insurance. So SMH has collected a patient's full deductible but it then gets reimbursed in full by the patient's insurance. SMH then waits months to send a bill to the patient while holding the patient's money that needs to be refunded.

This 1 star goes towards your registration area, who had the nerve to bully a pregnant mother into paying $2486 today, when told it was not doable you tell me to pay half, I again tell you I just paid $4363, you come back at me and tell me it has to be paid in full tomorrow before my cesarean. I used to speak very highly of your hospital, now I'm thankful I never have to come here again after tomorrow.

Extremely rude answering service. Wouldn t tell me the location of inpatient treatment facility.. sent me over to security yet again a second person wouldn t give me the address to the rehabilitation facility. Whenever a family is going through a crisis it would be nice to think that this hospital handles with care as if things aren t stressful enough already. I asked to speak to someone else possibly and the response I got was oh please! I m outraged that this hospital has such rude people answering their phones!!

You sent the results of my Bone Density test to the wrong physician, thus delaying my getting the test results for a week. The test itself was fine although the result says I have Osteopenia. I'm not too happy about that. The young woman who did the test was pleasant, efficient, and competent.

The nurses and all the CNAs were terrific. everyone seemed to enjoy their job and pleasant to be around and took the time with you Hight recommend Sarasota Memorial. They have nice lounge areas and people to help you get around. Just a pleasant stay.

Staff have always been competent and emergency room is a wait because Sarasota is loaded with indigents and the uninsured . They have always taken good care of me over the years Last time I went was for dehydration and they diagnosed a kidney injury . Had to have catheter and IVs . Cheered the team on when they were trying to put it in . Was put in room with one patient then switched to another with man who had ulcerative colitis and kept evacuating his bowels every 30 minutes and skunking up the room . I don't know if this was done to me on purpose but I was insured. One of the attending physicians a White man in his forties or fifties was very rude and sarcastic to me and I did not even complain about my roommate and remained a Trooper through it all . Otherwise nurses were great and one even sent me a get well note 2 weeks after my stay. I wish I could remember her name She was truly a Florence Nightengale . With the exception of that physician who unnecessarily acted like a jerk SMH did fine. Other Doctors had good bedside manners especially Dr. Wagner.

The attendant radiologist and his assistant were superb. They explained every step of the injection procedure in plain English, and were attentive, pleasant, and efficient.

I would like to commend them.

I have visited SMH many times over the course of the last 6 years - beginning with the birth of my daughter 6 years ago up to my bilateral mastectomy/oovectomy in Aug of 2015 - I've had numberous ER visits and a few admissions in that time, and I have to be honest - most of the Drs, nurses and staff do deserve 5 stars. My complaint is with the billing department. Let's put aside the fact that they charge an astronomical amount for care - it's unconscionable how callus and superior a billing agent can be. I was set up on a payment plan but had to update my payment method because my debit card was stolen - which is why I called. That's all I needed to do - update my payment method. The woman who handled my call - proceeded to tell me that my plan was not appropriate (it was over the course of 18 mos instead of their preferred 12). When I told her it was really none of her business what my agreement with SMH was and asked to talk to her supervisor, she told me it WAS her business, because she was a supervisor. The payoff balance was still more than I could afford, so I asked if she could just update my account and process this month's payment. She took my new account info and proceeded to charge my account almost $1000 instead of the agreed upon $50 payment. Ofcourse she didn't fess up to this, I found out after I looked at my bank account online. I called SMH back and asked to talk to the billing dept's supervisor and was sent to his voicemail. He never returned my call, but the agent who erroneously processed my payment did. She apologized for the mistake and said she had voided the transaction - but the amount is still being held on my account. When I asked if SMH would be responsible for any overdraft fees I may incur, ofcourse that was big fat NO. I am not at all impressed with the quality of "customer service" I have received.

I had the unfortunate experience of delivering my new son during the covid pandemic. The doctors and nurses were great, they are not the reason for this review. I am writing this review about their food and nutrition department. Apparently the kitchen is being remodeled during my stay. Each meal they have brought me has been worse than the last. Grapes that are spoiled, sandwiches that are soggy and look like they have been sitting out of the cooler for days. I was brought chicken tenders that were slimy and smelled like rotten fish. I have literally survived off granola bars and graham crackers for the past 2 days. Giving exhausted mother's rotten food is just not acceptable to me and to have my complaints ignored is even worse. Hopefully will not have an extended stay here ever again.

I recently had my daughter there and the L&D nurses were good. Especially my nurse Brittani who delivered my daughter. But on MBU, my nurses were phenomenal. I had Jazmine and Lara. Lara was ultimately my favorite. She knew her stuff, she was pleasant, and I felt like she really cared. Thank you SMH!

Went in for blood work prior to an exam at another location. They were courteous, efficient and Marie did a great job on the draw (and I'm not an easy draw). Received message day later from my physician's office that they received the results and all good. Would not hesitate to use them again.

I had an appointment for a CT scan and somehow mixed up the dates. I went into Radiology 2 days after my scheduled appointment. I had no idea what to do but, the person at the registration desk said she would see if they could get me in as a "walk in". She said that they could do that and I was thinking I would be there all day. I was so surprised when they called my name and it was only 15 minutes after I had arrived. They handled my mistake very professionally and were very pleasant about the situation. Thank you Sarasota Memorial!

I have been having my mammograms for the past 4 years at Sarasota Memorial Breast Center. I had breast cancer and feel that I get the best care. The staff is very caring and efficient. Even though I hate the drive, they make the appointment as easy as possible.

Daughter was there on the 4th of July with chest pains. Ekg showed abnormalities, they wanted a urine sample and then never tested it! The doctor who saw her never touched her or listen to her heart rhythm with a stethoscope. Discharged her and told her to get into a cardiologist ! Not what I expected!

I would recommend this hospital to anyone!! Best hospital to go to if you want true quality patient care! Our daughter went into early labor 2 times prior to the 'real thing' and the staff down in the OB ER was simply fantastic! Once she did break her water 2 days later and went to the Labor & Delivery, again the nurses were nothing but AWESOME! L & D nurses were so patient with her 14+ hour labor, and when she wasn't progressing and decided to go ahead with a c-section, the nurse thoroughly educated all of us on what would be happening and stayed with her all the way until recovery! And finally, the Mother Baby Unit nurses were just rock stars considering our daughter was a bit on the grumpy side (the meds and no sleep!!), but the quality of care and friendliness were not lacking and they were very accommodating. The courtyards are beautiful, the hospital is VERY clean (floors and all), the cafeteria on 4th floor has many great and healthy choices, and the volunteer staff are lovely! I highly recommend this hospital to anyone who wants quality care in a friendly, family environment. You can definitely tell the staff at SMHCS truly care about their patients and are extremely educated!

I went for routine blood work to the University branch. The staff there are caring, attentive people. I was taken promptly, about 10 minutes without an appointment. The deed was done quickly and expertly. I definitely will go there again when needed. It is convenient and the staff are all very professional.

This hospital is highly understaffed. My husband had a horrible experience here for his 3 day stay. Only one nurse working per rest of them. Also down in ER nurse seemed frazzled & over worked. All i can say is dont get put on 7th floor. Buttons on bed for nurse call never worked. He got his own water out of sink. Emptied his own pee container in bed so he could go again. Never asked even to change his gown after 3 days in same clothes. Gross. Lets just say he ended up leaving on his terms. Never came to let him leave after 5 hrs of asking. :( & this is the good hospital?! He was in for heart issues but not put on a cartiac floor?! Why?

After back surgery, I was surrounded by very caring and capable staff. Very helpful and encouraging my entire stay. I hope I don't have to go back for any reason but would choose SMH if necessary.

Came into the emergency with pain in my bladder, I wasn't able to urinate for approx. 15 hours. The emergency staff checked me in quickly because of my condition. The doctor ordered a Catheter to be installed and I experienced immediate relief. The two RNs were very professional and courteous.

Staff was friendly, attentive and caring. The only negative was the post op area....my bed was right next to doors where patients and staff were constantly going back and forth....hard to rest with all of the commotion.

Great experience. Except we were not notified of admission being for observation and as such not all meds would be paid for. Received a bill for $334.00 surprise. When called and explanation given. Was told tthat Medicare part D might pay for some. Hospital will send release and we are to contact Medicare Part D to see what info they need. Now we don't have an itemized bill nor do we know what meds we are responsible for. Apparently after release form is returned we will find out. Certainly ruined our visit for us. At least we should have been informed and offered help before we left hospital. Very disappointing. Jane Cooper

This past May 2017, I was entered into SMH for Open Heart Surgery. I spent 5 days in pre-op and 4 days in recovery. During my entire stay I witnessed the true meaning of Team Work. There was not one moment that I needed anything. I was constantly cared for by all employees of this wonderful hospital. I was actually surprised that each person I met seemed to care about my life as much as I did. Thank you to all I met during this stay. You all are amazing, wonderful, and caring, people. I am proud to have know so many of you. God Bless you all.

By far the **BEST** hospital in the area, hands down.

All three of our children were born here, the nurses and doctors here are amazing and attentive. Very focused on patient well-being and the nurses will always advocate for you. Love!

I ve had very problematic pregnancies so the ER facilities here were crucial in our journeys. I d be in there 1-2 times a week for a pregnancy condition called Hyperemesis Gravidarum and for the most part, the staff was very kind and helpful, even if they didn t have knowledge regarding my particular illness.

I ve also been a patient there for a few other health conditions in the past and have loved the treatment and care of the staff and the convenience of the hospital s location. Very central to everything west of 75.

Their facilities and rooms are always clean and ready for you.

Their classes that they offer are incredibly helpful and informative, and their outpatient and physician services are exemplary.

They are also now a trauma center which is great for our area since the closest one before that was about a 45 minute drive away in Bradenton.

I truly am grateful for a local hospital that I can trust to be taken care of properly and in a timely manner. I visited the ER twice this month and this last time, my nurse Whitney R. was so kind and treated me with great compassion, she is a great asset to SMH.

I just had my son at Sarasota memorial a few days ago. I m not usually a review writing person but SMH went above and beyond my expectations. Huge shout out to one nurse in particular, Leah. She constantly came to make sure we were okay and answered any and all questions we had and explained everything to us when we left. I d highly recommend SMH to anyone especially any of my soon to be momma friends. Thanks Leah & the rest of the SMH staff!

I have appreciated every stay I have made at Sarasota Memorial. The last one had the only hitch I can imagine... I had the perfect surgery to remove my lower right leg. I don't know when this happened, I just know it was after my surgery. Somewhere, sometime someone tried to access a vein that was in an arm clearly marked LIMB ALERT. It is an arm clearly used for dialysis and has a VERY visible fistula in it..

I really would like this looked into. My hopes are high.

This hospital is the worst hospital I have ever been to. I waited almost two hours just to get put in a room in the er. The room is disgusting. There is a used needle in the sink. There s nasty stains on the sheets. The nurses are rude as all hell. The only nice person I ve spoken with so far is the doctor. The nurse didn t even wash or wear gloves before handling my medicine.

Do not go here. I went to the Urgent Care to have stitches on my leg. They used Zpline Stitches that did not close. The wound remained open and had to return to urgent care, which I was then advised to have it heal on its own. They still continued to charge me for the second visit and I am left with a permanent scar on my leg. After review by the medical director, it was determined that I received "Quality Care." I received VERY POOR quality and have a permanent scar to show for it. They will not reduce any of the charges or compromise. Do not go here

Biggest scam ever! Most horrific hospital experience ever.
Our holiday in Florida was amazing, great, the best! However Memorial Hospital Sarasota ruined the whole experience.
We are tourists from the Netherlands our son had a severe ear infection. We went to the ER because he was in a lot of pain.
They looked into his ear, said they couldn t do anything else than prescribe ear drops.
And for only that, we needed to pay 1500 USD and to make matters even worse, the are still today claiming higher amounts with our credit card!!!! As said ONE BIG SCAM. You wouldn t expect that from a hospital!
We are now going to get a lawyer, because of this horrible situation.
Poor son, due to all the bad experiences with Memorial Hospital Sarasota, he feels guilty and says, no matter in how much pain he is, he will never ever go to a hospital again! Stupid hospital.

Dr Ruffin treated my sister-in-law who had a very extremely confused and agitated incident. He ran a number of tests, diagnosed her condition and gave us a prescription for her. She had a UTI! As a lay person I had no idea this could cause such a state in an elderly person with memory problems! She is now back to her normal forgetful, confused and loving self. Thanks so much to all the emergency room staff and John in the reception area. You are the best! (Believe me, in my 70 years I ve been in many ERs) Superb job!

Keep in mind I am one person & these are our experiences - I was 18 & married when I had my first child there. I was insulted, belittled, ignored from the nurses & my son almost died. It took a year for my body to recover. I met with them & told them what happened and they acted like I was young and stupid, but who 2 babies died after mine with the same doctor that doc lost her license. Nearly 12 years later I get the nerve to have another child, was treated terribly by nurses - insulted and cried most of the time. A week later I return because there is blue around my son's mouth (doctor's recommendation). They tell me he has a heart problem and do 8 hours of painful tests & then decide the nurse in the ER didn't put the pulse oximeter on his foot right. He was fine.

This past year I went into the ER for kidney stones, my 10th time having them. I tell them demerol makes me sick and morphine works well - I have experience with them. Their response was "no morphine" and they would give me nothing until they see it is a kidney stone. FIRST time that has ever happened. Even after they saw it was a stone they wouldn't give me anything. I sat in a bed, with my son in a chair with me, and yelled out the hall for someone to please give me something for over an hour. I cried and begged. Took them 5 tries to get in an IV finally - I told them the only vein that ever works for me and they said they knew what they were doing. Ended up the vein I pointed out was the only one that worked. They gave me something for pain and then sent me home with a script.

Three weeks ago my 90 year old grandmother is brought into the ER via ambulance w/the flu. The ER said it was the norovirus and it was terrible. They admitted my mother with the same thing. I told them my grandmother had gone to the restroom on herself, it happened over and over and asked them to help clean her up. That took an hour. It took 45 minutes for ice chips. My grandmother was admitted and left in a room where no one helped her. My mom had to come up sick to care for her. Two days in a nurse freaks out that my grandmother had the norovirus and he wasn't told. Does no one read charts? None of the nurses on the floor knew, so what were they treating her for? She was sick for days in there and no one would clean the room or the toilet from the person next to my grandmother. That person had pneumonia and water around her heart and shouldn't have been in a room with someone with the flu. Nothing changed until I called and had a fit with the head of nursing. My grandmother now has an infection you get in hospitals - c-diff. It is a nightmare.

I had one family member have his pace maker turned off and no one knew why. His heart stopped and he had to be resuscitated. There are more stories and I am one person. Clearly his hospital has issues, but the latest experience with my grandmother was the worse - neglectful and incompetent.

I was med flighted from DMH to SMH because l was not getting any better from bilateral pneumonia & anaphylaxis shock. Once in ICU in Sarasota and getting the "Incredible" care from ALL THE STAFF there I began to get better. I was then transferred to the 10th
floor which is Respiratory. I have to say I was treated with such Respect, Love and Care from the "Wonderful" Staff that I felt like "Family"!
Thank-you to my Cheering Squad!!! Although there were many to help me move forward so I could go home, there are Some of you I WILL NEVER FORGET!! THANK-YOU!!!
MUCH LOVE to YOU ALL!!

The service at this hospital was horrible , they take too long , I asked a question and there response was I don t know, and that s something you don t say. No one came to check on us if we were ok or if we needed anything , I was there since 8am till 2 pm . I went in for a emergency for my daughter and I will never go back to this hospital ever again

I delivered my 2 babies here. Dr. Hamel has excellent bedside manner! She truly cares about her patients and makes you feel comfortable. Every time I saw her she greeted me with big welcoming smile and was always The nursing staff was very attentive during my stay, both in the delivery room and mother baby unit. The rooms were immaculately clean, stocked with plenty of toiletries/products for both mom and the babies. The pediatrician, Dr. Sutera is very attentive, has excellent bedside manner, and shows he truly enjoys caring for his patients. Also, the food was tasty. I was actually surprised being it s hospital food. We had a
positive experience at SMH and hope others do too! Thank you to ALL the staff at SMH!

Having this be the main hospital in the city in which we live makes me want to relocate. They bring their doctors in from outside practices and do not hold them to any sort of standard. My husband was released with no hope for follow up. Though we have insurance, our deductible will set us back substantially and I can't think of anyone I'd rather pay back less.

Spend all that money on the hospital , you couldn't get a good housekeeping team .This is the third time we get to see different floor , they all dirty . housekeeping is horrible they mop over dirt. papers always on the floor , and in the elevators , water spills were seen in different places. This is really sad how this place declined.

My husband just spent one night in Tower 8 and I would suggest it was a mediocre experience. We both expected much better! The nurses, while I am sure are knowledgeable, seemed to spend quite a bit of time "chirping" together at their stations about personal "stuff". And his trash bucket in the bath was not emptied ....Additionally, as his wife, I went out and had to ask 3 times about a particular doctor. The nurse I spoke with was not complimentary about the doctors, in general.
In fact, when asked what doctors were on the floor, she didn't know and was never sure when a doctor was coming. Also, my husband came out of the recovery room and all the wires, etc....his gown and everything was was left all askew. He was not comfortable at all......

My husband is a "gem" and rarely complains. But, as he put it, the processes in place (a nurse writing his blood pressure on a sticky note to take out to the chart) or (the nurse telling us that a medication was cancelled but she doesn't know "who" or "why") should be reviewed and changed. At the end of his stay, he got up himself, got dressed and walked out without anyone questioning or stopping him........

Unless a doctor strongly suggests we go to SMH in the future, we will try elsewhere.

The doctors were fantastic. However, nursing is another story. Also, valuables are not at all safe in this hospital! I was brought in AFTER being hit head on by a truck. In the ER, my jewelry was removed from me (I did not remove it myself, and I was heavily sedated). My entire family was in the accident and rushed to different hospitals, so I had no one to take my belongings. Needless to say, ALL of my valuable jewelry disappeared. I was told it was locked up, and later found out it was never even logged in. The patient advocate sent me a check for "good faith money", and assured me they would get back to me. The valuables were over $1800.00. Never heard back, but was notified that procedure wasnt fpllowed and my items never made it to the safe. This is somehow my problem? Id love to file an insurance claim, this is ridiculous. My medical bills are 800,000.00 and I'm expected to pay. The least they can do is replace the items they misplaced?!

Next, the nursing is subpar. I was left alone for long periods of time, on the toilet. OR waiting for help to use the toilet. Leaving a patient who can't walk without help on the toilet for 30+ minutes is abuse. Making them sit in bed trying not to wet themselves for 30+ minutes is also abuse. Then, to tell the patient (with an open gut and multiple broken ribs, collar bone etc) to wipe themselves, when they can't move their arms... this is absolutely horrible care! Not to mention, the Dr. gave specific instructions to the nursing staff to make sure a drain was in place so it would work properly. The drain was never checked, even though i reminded the nurses when they were baffled as to why it wasn't draining. I then ended up with an infection and more surgery and scarring to fix this issue that could have been prevented if they followed instruction. I was also billed for their screw up. They're understaffed and I'd say most are genuinely not interested in patient care. My 6 year old provides better care. I spent a month in the trauma unit, and had to literally take care of myself. I willed myself to do things I couldn't. In doing so, I caused more damage that I'm dealing with 6 months later.

Please SMH, hire people who actually want to help those in need! The doctors provided amazing care and were so caring. They are literally the only reason I gave 2 stars. Along with a few nurses who understood I was a human being.

As of today I am 7 months past my accident, still healing, haven't gotten my jewelry back or replaced, and am still being billed. I was contacted by Sarasota PD though. Apparently there's enough theft at this hospital that the police are investigating. Shameful. I'd love the insurance information so I can just file a claim and be done with it. My loss had nothing to do with me, it was due to employee negligence.

I went to the hospital for pink eye on a Friday after, waiting room had no more than 10 people waiting. I spent 5+ hour for a doctor to literally look at my eye and that's it. I was with him less than 2 mins. Once he left I waited another hour for a prescription. I have worked in hospitals in New York and other high volume hospitals this is not one of them, the staff extremely rude. I listened to a couple of nurses talk about all the things they did wrong to other patients and have a nice laugh about it. I watched another nurse yell at a man to hurry up and move out of the hallway. The man had been waiting longer than me and was becoming hungry and restless. Once they got him back into the room the staff talked about him badly. I mean this place needs to clean house. Wouldn't recommend this hospital to anybody.

I had my second baby here. It was pretty good.. kinda weird though after I had my baby I was put in an area where no one was around which was nice but kinda creepy and they sent me home with a catheter! That got clogged.. that was the most painful thing to experience. I don't think they should have sent me home so soon. They were nice there.. but I definitely had a better experience at the hospital in michigan.

I was extremely pleased with the entire experience. Everyone I came into contact with was supportive, caring and competent. I was communicated with regularly, and never felt out of the loop. Special thanks to the nursing staff which included Josh and Mike, along with a female nurse whose name I forgot. Also, nurse assistant Mindy took care of my testing and comfort needs. Thanks SMH!! Job well done.

I want to send a huge THANK YOU full of gratitude to the 2 gentlemen that helped me with my billing today. Steve and Alexander! I am so grateful for your professional and courteous assistance in my case. May God bless you & SMH! You deserve to be recognized. You are both great assets to the hospital. THANK YOU. Sincerely, Sara & Eliana

Earlier last August got into car accident w/ mother driving. I was 12 at this time. I had half my skin on my face burned off, outer layer. Nothing major. My mother had broken her wrist, but the ER had no showing of it. Also she had had breathing problems, i was fine. would have preferred who had being on the stretcher rather then me, as I was fine except being shaken up. Not too bad, except for the misdiagnosis of the broken wrist of my mother, which still causes her issues today.

I would have never guessed I would find exceptional medical care anywhere in Florida, but it is exists in every department at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. With the exception of a few first-encounter greeters during the preoperative appointments, we found absolutely everything about our experiences on two separate occasions, including surgery, to be outstanding.

Arrived without an app't. for lab work. Was processed swiftly and seen by a Technician to draw blood within another 10 minutes. Technician was cheerful and took blood successfully. All in all good marks all around.

I have been going to this hospital since I was born. As a disabled person with numerous health problems I am in the hospital at least four times a year roughly. In all of my visits I have always found the staff to be professional and carrying the rooms to be clean and modern and the hospital itself to be one of the best facilities you can go to in the Sarasota Bradenton Venice area. I have had only one bad experience and it really was truly a horrifying traumatic experience however In fairness to the hospital I will say it happened a few weeks after Hurricane Irma and I would like to believe what happened. Still Sarasota Memorial Hospital one of the best heart and really just about any medical problem they are the go-to place to address it. All in all I would definitely recommendall in all I would definitely recommend Sarasota Memorial Hospital. I can say this with probably more confidence than anyone having visited with the exception of giving birth every Department and I found them all to be very professional and very customer service oriented.

I was in the ER for severe pain
They gave me motrin and valiumfor a muscle spasm in my back

They just need education on pain and human decency
They flat out dont care a bout people
The nurse never eashed her hands when she entered the room and prepared my injection without hand washing before gloving and never washed her hands after removing the gloves when leaving my room
Still suffering when discharge
Im a tetired nurse and this was to me to see how many dont care about you as a patient
