Facilities are OK, but birthday party organisation is terrible. They could not figure out and let in guests who arrived later, which I would expect not an uncommon case. Our party host did nothing expecting parents even to distribute lunch boxes and talk to kids to organise them. We were not shown which tables are reserved for us which are fo other parties. Few kids were missing chips (including the birthday child!!!) Had to look for the party host during the lunch and prompt to get the pudding, cake and party bags... All of that took ages! Very disappointed and will not recommend it for birthday party at all!

Amazing place to be, super fun! Get in there early though otherwise have to be in big queues unless you are going term time. Only problem I have with this place is they just let so many people in, it gets crowded like anything. Otherwise, lots and lots of fun. Lockers/facilities no problem.

Great day out at the water park. Would recommend getting a write band and going on the bigger rides, be aware there is sometime quite a queue thought. Would have given 5 stars but parking was a real issue due to the pay machine not working and the second one only takes coins. Other really enjoyed it!

Hi just wanted to say what a great time we had at the park on Thursday! We came with our two children, our 4 year old son is Autistic and just wanted to let you know how impressed we were with the facilities and helpfulness of the staff. Having use of a poolside wet room was really useful and made things a lot easier. We would definitely come back if we ever return to Blackpool! Thank you!

I found sandcastle water park expensive for what it offered you had to pay extra for the 4 main slides if you didnt there was very little as a waterpark to do
Very disappointed you have to pay full price for spectators (in our case nanny who was looking after the babby ) and a dad who wasn't swimming

We are a family of 4 (two adults, a boy of 14, a girl of 8). We booked our tickets online in advance and were thus able to bypass a very long queue, we were inside after 5 minutes. Not sure why all these people were queuing and then probably complaining.... ( do book ONLINE IN ADVANCE!).
Make sure to buy the Hyperzone add-on, it costs extra but otherwise you won t have access to the top waterslides and then there is nothing special about the waterpark.
We arrived at 1:30pm and until 3:30pm it was very crowded, quite long queues for all of the slides. After 4:30pm it was rather calm and we could enjoy all of the attractions with short queues.
Visit with children of at least 8 yrs old : some of the slides are quite fast and if you have never visited a similar waterpark before it will definitely be overwhelming or frightening for young children.
Our children (8 and 14) had a blast and we had lots of fun all afternoon with the 4 of us until the very last minute when the park closed at 6pm.
All amenities were very clean and there are several spacious family rooms. Toilets, showers, slides and pool are all well maintained (and I tend to be very picky about this subject!).
Staff was friendly and helpful, safety is always a priority.
During our holiday this year we also visited Waterworld in Stoke On Trent and we found Sandcastle Waterpark to be cleaner and in better condition.
Definitely recommended, the only disadvantage was that it was very crowded between 1:30pm and 3:30pm but of course we choose to visit on a peak day. And stay away with children under 8...
The Montazooma and Master Blaster slides gave us a unique and exciting fun experience which our family will remember for a long time to come!

I was very impressed with the way I was treated today with my disabled son, I paid in and got a discount then they called someone to take me to the disabled changing area which is right next to the pool, the wet room had a shower inside too.. I was also told that I can use the quiet room at anytime which was located upstairs, only thing is you can't eat food in the quiet room so had to stay downstairs, but I was given a reserved table because I had food. The pool was extremely busy, could hardly move, prices are expensive but worth it of you are going or use all the slides and stay in most of the day. I left early and let my teenage daughter stay with her friend. Staff are excellent, very helpful, made me feel welcome.. Thank you..

Normally go every year for my daughters birthday and spend a full day there. But we went today and it was absolutely freezing. To the point I actually struggled because I have health problems. Spent an absolute fortune to get in the place to spend a couple of hours in the water freezing cold. I don't think we'll be going again next year. Lots of other people complaining about the temperature, and one family even changed their mind coming in as another family had put them off.
(Also not a cheap day out at all for any skint families out there)

Great place to spend the whole day , quite expensive and mega busy , we queued for an hour and a half with 2 young children, the manager did apologise , so book online so I don't have to queue but brilliant water park

Wave pool, rapids, two flumes free. Everything else is extra on top of entrance fee. These are good though, uphill flume (dingys) other dingy flumes. Food prices are the same as pleasure beach. Water is warm, lots of chlorine. Good effort. However, some bloke was taking pictures in the water none of the lifeguards did a thing. O asked after & was told as long as you sign a form to say you're not a pervert its ok, you can film... really? No... I mean, really? Jesus Christ! Otherwise good effort, try it. Also has free WiFi for you fellow Googlooglers

Update> 31/05/2013... water was freezing!...felt as if they were trying to get all of Blackpool into one pool... the decider was seeing a 'Used' ladies sanitary product go floating by!...will not be going back...

I was lucky enough to have been invited to a hoteliers' coffee morning this week and was given a grand tour of the facilities which I have to say are first class. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, pointing out everything as we walked More

Hello! I have lived the water park with my pass with included hyperzone! It's one of the biggest and beautiful waterparks I've ever been to! My favourite ride is most likely the master blaster. I love the speed of the lazy river aswell!

Fab place for the kids & adults ! I'd say a little less worth it if you've really young children 6 and under but 8s and overs can really get your money's worth as all the more thrilling slides require a certain height, age and the ability to be a strong swimmer without armbands . You can easily spend a good day here, lots of food options and fun for the day.

Enjoyed my 18th here today, all the staff was marvellous.
The food was amazing and I had a blast.

I had a little issue with a staff member called John who moaned cause he splashed an had a attitude on him.

But other than that a 5* star for everything. Thanks guyssss

Good water park. Some good slides and other water based activities. Queues can be very long for the more popular rides and the water park can be busy at peak times but still thoroughly enjoyable. So thanks.

CARERS BE AWARE..!!

CARERS BE AWARE..!!
Totally disgusted..arrived after a 2hr journey with 2 adult' s with Learning Difficulties and Autism, accompanied by Essential Support Carers. The website and price list states:

Two other carers of of senior citizenship..we're told they had to pay full price too, just to spectator.. thus , they declined..!
We asked to speak to the Duty Manager..Richard Halstead, we explained to him, regarding the hidden cost; discrimination towards Disabled Adults, and non acceptance of Official Careres Cards; provided by and Official National Society, well know for its Adult Care.
HIS response, was aload of 10 minute waffle, spectators were charged the price because if not they were taking up the space of that which could be used by a swimmer..again discrimination against Senior Citizens. He eventually offered a voucher, as compensation..we declined the offer. As the discussion progressed, we were told that the staff on reception were new, and still training, that did not rectify her, couldn't care less attitude regarding the Careers Official Card. The Manager said, she should have contacted him for confirmation..that is down to very bad staff training.!

Therefore, Carers taking Adults or Children to this place, be aware..an "Essential Companion in this context is for a guest that requires direct support and supervision"..this is advertised on their brochure, but does not mean you will be accepted by the reception staff..you should then, ask to see Management..do not accept the staff decision.!!
We will not be returning to this establishment, untill they clarify their position on Disability and the need for Carers Support.!!!
