The trip started off bad and only got worse..we we...

The trip started off bad and only got worse..we were on our honeymoon and had done all the things to get approved for the honeymoon package, which consists of a surprise bottle of champagne in your room and then a one day complimentary breakfast brought to your room. Well, they forgot. And on top of it when brought up they said they would take care of it the next day and they did not - actually still here writing this review. To top it off on the third day we went to the cricketers pub and had possibly the WORST service of our lives. The staff was taking shots, it took us over 60 minutes to get our food which was wrong, now that s not unheard of except there were only 6 tables in the whole place!! The staff was rude and we witnessed 3 other tables leave. Then on top of it we saw 2 tables that came in after us complain and they got their food in 5 mins...disgusting service. We have 4 more days but I d be damned if there is anyway Sandals could turn this around...don t come here if you want to have an amazing honeymoon or trip with your significant other...if they can redeem themselves I ll change this review but stay away - my guess is this stays at 1 star. Sandals never again. #dontlistentothehype

Extremely beautiful and clean. Staff is wonderful. Drinks are great. Food is good especially the Jamaican food. Steak was cooked perfectly. Room was beautiful and clean. I can't wait to go back!

Saturday from a week-long vacation there it was awesome had a little mishap but the people there Dawn the sandals manager and the concierge manager Patrina Amanda and my girl Geraldine it was awesome I will recommend everybody go there and ask for them they will take very good care of you they will make sure your state is awesome

Wonderful resort!! We were there a week for vacati...

Wonderful resort!! We were there a week for vacation, the service is exceptional! We were well taken care of our entire trip! The rooms were very nicely furnished. Our room was in the courtyard but we never heard music or dishes banging from the restaurant below us. The food was awesome! So many choices for dining! I would recommend if you want steak and seafood, call ahead to Butch's when you first arrive and reserve your spot way ahead of time because they book quickly. The staff was always ready with a quick hello every day. The water sports that are included with your stay, my advise is DO THEM ALL. We tried them all and found we loved the catamaran! We took it out almost every day we were there!
A few shout outs of our favorite people while we were there:
Kurt, our cameraman, superb pictures, very personable and friendly.
Melicia and Selene, front desk, they were so kind and friendly and helpful! Always a smile on their faces. Exceptional service.
Terry-Ann, bar-tender, she was FANTASTIC!! We would have a fresh drink waiting for us when we got down to a quarter of a glass. She was so friendly and engaging!
Sasha, a server, she is a by the book girl and she took such good care of us, every time. We loved her. Side note, with Sasha, ALWAYS let the lady go first, otherwise, she will correct you. It was hilarious, we loved it!!

The only two things I can say were not that good was our bed squeaked really bad, the pillows were flat and the entertainment guy (don't know his name but he has a song out that he played over and over) was all about himself, it really was a one-man show when he did the entertainment on the beach, it was super annoying.

Everything else was fantastic, we will definitely stay there again!! Yeah mon!!

If you like resorts and enjoy the idea of all inclusive with staff ready to wait on you then this is a place in a gorgeous country with wonderful people surrounding you. I will definitely be visiting this report again so I can take advantage of some the extra amenities and excursions they have to offer.

Overall the property is nice. There are some staff that are excellent. In most cases the staff is rude. They do not relay information and then blame guests for not knowing what to do. Do not be fooled this is a tipping resort. Only basic necessities are included and anything above and beyond costs extra. This was my honeymoon and I felt like I was treated less than others. I felt like the staff looked down on us for not tipping and not wanting to spend extra. We did enjoy Jamaica and are going to try the Beaches resort next year. Let s hope that staff is better.

Many bars and well 8 dining areas (English pub, Italian restaurant, Caribbean, Japanese, French brasserie, fish stew, pizza and grill) + 4 bars including 1 Paris cafe.
Pools and Whirlpools also available at night. Spectacular

My husband and I love Sandals resorts. MoBay was no different. Even during these CoVID times, Sandals made the experience pleasant and so lovely.
Staff: So amazing, attentive and caring. They remember your name and details about you to try to personalize your experience. Our butlers (Dwayne and Okeria) were fantastic!
Food : Always hot and yummy. Food takes a bit to get but its worth it. There are vegan/ vegetarian options at every restaurant. For example, their breakfast burrito is vegetarian and amazing! The vegan filet mignon at Butch's is so good! Non dairy milk options are available and there are even gluten free options at their cafe.
Room: So nice and spacious.

During other times, you could even resort hop to Royal Caribbean but at our stay we could not.

Down side: Pools are a bit small and under whelming at this location. Other sandals have larger pools.

Every trip gets better. The staff at SMB is hands down the BEST. Carla in is great. She made sure everything was perfect our entire stay. She helped me book another trip back home and knee exactly what I would like . The food is amazing. Love seeing Dalton s smiling face every morning. Joseph in water sports always makes sure you have a great experience on the water. The room upgrade was out of the world. They made us feel like royalty.

The resort was pretty good. Service didn't seem as good at this one as we received in Saint Lucia at the Halcyon. Some things took a while or multiple times asking, or staff wouldn't really be willing to help. HOWEVER it was a mixed bag, other employees were very helpful and timely. The entire entertainment team is amazing! We really enjoyed the planned activities, which helped since it rained most of the time we were there.

The resort is layed out along the beach so it gives you a nice reason to walk the beach! Since there was so much rain there were also TONS of bugs! The resort does spray for them so on resort they aren't bad, but off resort two layers of bugs pray and clothes didn't stop them from attacking.

It is very close to the airport, only 10mins away which is really nice. You do occasionally hear planes overhead everyday. But if you are drinking and near music you won't even notice haha.

Overall good experience. Saint Lucia is still our favorite and would recommend it over this one. They also historically have better weather throughout the year.

As a first timer I was very impressed. Staff was friendly but our butler Nasha was beyond awesome. Her cheerful and instant smile always brought a joy to the day. Food was great with a good variety. We will be back for sure.

There are no complaints about Sandals Montego Bay. Every single employee was extremely kind and helpful. The entire resort was clean and welcoming. The food at all the restaurants was perfect and super delicious! Definitely would go back again.

Overall, it was nice. We booked a preferred room and loved the BMW transfer. Beautiful resort and ocean. We loved our room. We also loved the pizza. However, booking reservations for restaurants is a scam. When we went to book, there were NO reservations available for any restaurant during our entire stay. When we asked to speak to a manager suddenly there were reservations available every day for any of the restaurants. Also that manager told us we did not need reservations for Soy, so we went there for dinner and were told we couldn t eat there without a reservation? Also every time we went to the beach every chair was taken by towels, but we never saw anyone actually use any of these chairs. As a preferred memember, I did not feel very accommodated. The pool also needed more frequent cleaning-a lot of bugs and leaves. As a young couple here celebrating our engagement, we were often overlooked by staff. Attention was geared to the older crowd. Most likely will look elsewhere when taking our yearly Caribbean vacation.

The first Sandals. It keeps its promises. Youthful environment. Recently renovated offers good service. Friendly and friendly staff. Spacious rooms of many types. (Ask an agent to help you choose the one that's right for you). We eat well. And the level of inclusions as usual redefines the concept of all inclusive. The airport is very close but not disturbing.

Outstanding resort. Love out time here. We stayed at the Sandal's Montego Inn, but spent most of our time at Montego Bay. Great restruants and activities. A real benefit to be able to visit the othet 2 Sandal resorts. Accomodation staff.

Airport caused my family to distress and we had to leave! I am a war vet and this was a major trigger for my PTSD. I saw that my room was on the runway and was told this wouldn't be a problem. FALSE! My family couldn't take the noise and I was having flashbacks. They told me it's romantic and no refunds. Not recommended.

Spent the most amazing honeymoon here!
Our room was perfect on the not-busy side of the hotel with a private sun bed and walked out to the beach and pool. The food was amazing (except for cricketers pub...avoid it) and the frozen drinks are so good!! Everyone is so friendly and I am excited to go back to sandals next year!

My Husband and I went to this resort for our honeymoon. There is not one thing i can say bad about our time while we were there. The room was very nice, and we had a great view from our window! We loved every minute of it. The whole staff was very friendly and would get you anything you desired! They all basically knew us by name after we left. They are very personable and helpful! Heartlon is one that by far went above and beyond for us. He was a pleasure to get to know, as were all the other staff we were about to talk to! I never once felt unsafe. Another good thing about this resort is that you never have to leave the resort. They have so much for you to do, eat and drink! So as you all can probably tell it was very hard for me and my husband to leave. But we will definitley be going back! So if your thinking about going, its a must!!!

1st room had a moldy scent. They gave us a new room the next day so that was good considering how full they were. The place is beautiful with many things to do. The staff is friendly and helpful. The dope peddlers are kept at bay but that didnt stop one from trying. The food is good. The store prices are way too high. Drinks are good but I dont like red stripe beer. All in all we enjoyed the experience.

We were married on Saturday August 22nd, 2020 in central Florida. We originally booked our honeymoon from August 24th to August 28th at Sandals Resort in Montego Bay Jamaica in February of 2020. We ve been making regular payments to Unique Vacations ever since then for a package deal that included our flights, accommodations and excursions.

During the first week of July we were informed that Unique Vacations had unilaterally cut our honeymoon short by one day because their partner JetBlue changed their flight schedules. It s worth noting that we did not hire JetBlue. We were contracted for a complete vacation with Unique Vacations who put us on JetBlue.

When we called Unique Vacations and told them we had paid excursions on the day they wanted us to return their response was that s too bad. They made zero effort to compensate us for cutting our honeymoon short or refunding our money for excursions. As such, we ended up changing our return date to Saturday August 29th. As a result of that Unique Vacations downgraded our room and charged us for another night. That added $600 to our honeymoon which brought the total to $7,465.38. Please note that as soon as the changes were made to our itinerary it was visible in the Sandals customer portal.

Fast forward to today. We left Ormond Beach at 630am and arrived at the Orlando airport at 800am. When we tried to check-in JetBlue informed us that there were no flights to Jamaica today and that they had rebooked us for Saturday August 22nd (the day of our wedding) but they couldn t notify us because we booked through Unique Vacations who did not notify us in any capacity.

When we logged into the Sandal s customer portal it still showed us as departing Orlando at 900am today on JetBlue. We have a screenshot showing this. When we called Sandals in Jamaica, they confirmed that someone dropped the ball and did not inform us of the changes to our itinerary last week. We offered to drive to any airport in Florida to get us to Jamaica today but there were no flights within close enough proximity of Orlando for us to get to in time.

The Jamaican government requires very expensive COVID PCR tests to be done no more than 10 days before traveling. Proof of a negative result has to be submitted to the Jamaican government to get a travel visa. We did our COVID tests on August 14th making today the 10th day. The tests were $200 each which put us another $400 out of pocket. There would be no way for us to get another PCR test, plus results, plus a Jamaican travel visa anytime this week. Our COVID results previously took six days to get and our travel visas took another four days.

In addition to that we paid Club Mobay for VIP service at the airport in Montego Bay traveling in both directions. That was another $160. That s not to mention that we took this week off work without pay which is another $4,000 gross that went out the window.

I have pre-op tests next week and major surgery the following week. I will not be able to travel anytime in the next six months and even after that point I may not be able to travel. We booked everything from our wedding, to our honeymoon, to my surgery around very specific dates to pull it all off.

We ve spent the entire day speaking with different people at Sandals and Unique Vacations. Two of their employees admitted this was 100% a mistake on their end and that we were at no fault whatsoever. However, once things escalated to one supervisor after another, we got the same response too bad we re not giving you one red cent back. This is clearly non-completion of contract bordering on fraud.

I would also add that after looking further into Unique Vacations and Sandals Resorts, they have an F rating on the BBB with well over 100 open complaints from other people that they ve ripped off. There are multiple horror stories on the Internet detailing how this company has ripped off countless people.

Book a holiday with Sandals at your own peril.

Simply Outstanding; We had a wonderful time on our honeymoon. Our butlers Cassandra and Mykal made sure we had absolutely everything we needed, even before we asked, with special extra touches. They made it such a special trip. The entire resort showed a wonderful attention to detail, and every person there made us feel relaxed and comfortable. The views from every point on the resort are spectacular. The resort took extra precautions and implemented extra cleaning procedures due to COVID19, but did so in a way that never felt like it interfered with enjoying our stay.

Our trip was a mixed bag of experiences.
The grounds are quite appealing with lots to see and do.
The staff except for one was overly friendly and helpfull.
The room was a different story.
The room itself was clean and nice but had a bad dresser drawer and a leaky tub stopper they couldn't seam to fix.
Our biggest issue was our poor location. I had stressed to the Sandles agent on the type of room we wanted .
When we reached our room it wasn't even close. No ocean view and behind a very noisy restaurant. No offer to switch rooms till the last day and no offer to lower the price or credit for future stays.
Please be very careful on your room selection. Their are many types with confusing descriptions. Not to mention that their loyalty agent may not have seen all the properties and don't know themselves.
The best thing to do is to keep asking if this is the correct one of what your looking for.
Still a nice place but beware. This was our second location disappointment.

Staff is definitely what makes the experience better. Everyone of them is friendly and always willing to assist in any way they can... The rooms are spacious and a tub on the balcony just adds to the appeal of relaxtion in the tropics...By far, my favorite restaurant so far is Soy... Sushi is top notch!

I know things are difficult with COVID but we almost missed our 1st anniversary bc of their inability to keep up with the governments requirements and they were all too quick to blame COVID for everything. Took NO repsonsibility. Got married at Sandals South Coast last year and loved it so very disappointed in this trip.

We booked our room over 4th of July and were suppose to get a free candle light dinner and charcuterie board. Find out later they never added it. First person I asked said if i didn t have a confirmation email she couldn t add it. Ok.... talked to someone else. He looked it up, saw that was the promotion when we booked and that he would send an email and we would receive a confirmation, which we never got. Fast forward to being at the resort where we had to talk to someone again and we finally got the candle light dinner set up. The food at the dinner wasn't great and we were eaten alive by mosquitos. Supposedly the charcuterie will be mailed but they couldn t say when. I'll believe it when I see it.

Rewind...we almost completely missed our trip. Jamaica requires a negative COVID within 10 days of travel. Then you have to submit a request for authorization to be let into the country. Per Sandals email it said to do that in 72 hours OR less prior to travel. So at 72 hours i log on, the government website said 3-5 days before travel and that it would take up to 2 days to be approved. Over 48 hours went by, it s now less than 24 hours before we leave and still says pending, and it s a Saturday. MANY phone calls trying to get approval, the number Sandals gave us to call was only Monday to Friday. I asked Sandals what I m suppose to do, they said push it back a few days. Then my COVID would be expired so have to get that again. 4 or 5 days for that to come back, another 3 for the authorization and then we would miss our anniversary. AND they wanted us to pay the difference in the price of the room since now the price is higher than the promotion we got. Seriously? Asked for a refund as they are the ones who messed this up. They said not our fault, it s the government . Actually if y all had said 5 days like the government said then we would have gotten approved no problem. That was the supervisor who continually interrupted and talked over me. Extremely rude person who should probably not be in customer service let alone the supervisor.

Authorization came through at 10pm that night. Thank GOD. Service at the resort was sub par. Every time we walked into Club Sandals it seemed like they tried to rush us out of there as fast as possible. Any time we called instead of going in there we felt as though we were being a bother. We rented a Cabana for a day that "included a bulter". She was continually late. Came around about every hour and a half. They were booked at 50% capacity" but we were never able to get a chair on the beach. I m diabetic and was continually given regular coke or beer when i asked for diet or light. Room wasn t cleaned till 3 pm every day. Tub on the patio didn t work. The came out and fixed it, stopped working again. Back to those mosquitos I mentioned earlier. They were EVERYWHERE, even in our room. The breakfast there was terrible so we started just ordering room service. Even in the morning there were so many mosquitos on the patio we could hardly stand it. Every time we ordered room service, our coffee cups looked dirty. We booked the Club Mombay lounge at the airport and had the most AMAZING experience there.. pretty pathetic we had a better time and friendlier staff at the airport than at a Sandals resort. I told our server that at Mombay and he said he has been hearing that a lot. I really could go on. Sandals is WAY to expensive to not have a fantastic experience. Wont be back.

My husband and I got married this July 16.2018 , we were thrilled with the attention they gave us and all the details were all set and everything was perfect, we will always remember our stay at the Royal Carribbean, the staff was wonderful, entertainment was also great, food was also great, cant stress enough what a great resort this was. We had a wonderful time, cant wait to go back again someday.

Worst vacation of my life. Paid for ocean view room, didn t get it. They were repairing and cleaning a fountain outside our room, always noisy. Promised nice tennis courts and a pro to play with, no pro and deteriorating courts. Even worse the sodas were flat and the tables dirty at outdoor restaurant, had to eat while swatting flies.

In general was good. Everything is on site. People (for the most part) are all nice and friendly. For us, we went here last week (11-8-15 through 11-14-15) and it was our honeymoon. We paid extra for the fancy honeymoon suite with the oceanfront view. When we got there, they put us in a room that looked directly onto a japanese restaurant that blocked our view. In fairness to them, once we called and pointed this out they changed our room. So kudos to them for that.

But we also were supposed to get a Cataraman Cruise and a couples massage for free with our package. They did not honor the Catamaran cruise. They did give us the couples massage for free though. It was weird. They didnt care what I asked for. They were like yeah we dont care what you want...this is a couples massage. You will take what we give you. Just weird how they didnt understand the concept of "hey I am the paying customer...if I want you to spend the entire 60 mins rubbing my back then do that. I dont want a full body massage." But again, very nice ladies. Just they would say it in a nice way. Oh no sir we dont do what you ask. We do this instead.

There was a steam room and a sauna within walking distance. That was nice. There was also significant construction going on but in fairness its probably better to do construction during non-busy season so that makes sense.

We did not leave the resort and our credit card numbers were stolen which leads me to believe that someone at their gift shop either stole our numbers or sold them to someone else. This was all inclusive so literally the only expenses we had were what we bought from the souvenir shop on site. I dont know for 100% fact that they stole the number but it sure seems pretty obvious that is what happened.

Food was okay. Not great but good. B+. Service made up for lackluster food because servers were so nice.

Activities were same. Fun stuff like Kayaking, hobie boat, etc. All activities guys were all very nice and very joyful.

One last comment - in a way it was like Nordstrom. You can go to Nordstrom and get Any employee to do anything for you. They give their employees autonomy and empower them to make decisions. That was the same here and I loved it. You see a random dude with a sandals shirt on and need a drink? Just ask him! He will get it! Literally. That was the best part. Just having so many nice people there who were all there to serve you was what made our honeymoon awesome. Even the guys doing manual labor were singing songs and being joyful. That was contagious. Just seeing a guy carrying bricks in heat but still singing...that was cool.

Oh and minimal bug bites. I heard to bring bug spray but when we were there it was minimal. Weather report also said heavy storms everyday but it was like 20 mins of light sprinkles in the afternoon on 2 days. So it must be that in that climate a 20 min afternoon sprinkle is customary. But literally for the rest of the day the weather was perfect. (It does take a day or two to get used to the accents to understand the employees though. They tend to talk fast).

I would go back. I would not recommend for families though...just for adults due to alcohol and spring break like atmosphere. Best to leave children at home. Cannot give perfect rating due to small issue here or small issue there but truly a great experience. I also noticed tons of couples were all said they are repeat customers and I can see why. Great weather, beautiful beaches, nice people, cost effective.

Thank you for great honeymoon Sandals! You have earned a repeat customer in me!

I was overall disappointed of the resort and the services provided. The resort needs urgent updates, the beaches are nowhere close to the ones presented in brochures and website, the food is borderline acceptable, and the butler service I hired is worth very little. I was not picked up in a private car from the airport as the butler service includes, nor my room was prepared according to the pre-butler survey I sent in a timely manner. Upon arrival we noticed the appetizers that were in the room were full of ants - a problem that occurred more than once during our stay. The beaches in both Montego Bay and Royal Caribbean are small and crowded - not to mention they look far from the ones in the pictures. We tried 4 different restaurants during our stay and not one of them I would recommend to anybody - they are borderline acceptable. Overall, a disappointment. My expectations far exceeded what this resort has to offer. I have visited more than a dozen resorts in the Caribbean and this one is at best average ... yet among the more expensive ones.
