San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina Review

Had lunch at Roy's, food and service were great but the restaraunt is somewhat run down and desperately in need of renovation.

The Marriot Marquis laid the groundwork for developing the Embarcadero into a major Convention and Recreation area. It is adjacent to the San Diego Convention Center. It is near the Gaslamp Quarter. It is near Petco Park. San Diego Trolley and Taxicab service are available. The Hotel is friendly, well maintained, good food, good concierge, and great views

Beautiful Marriott right in the middle of everything!

Went to the hotel for a party. The service and food were great!

We went for Comic Con and the staff was very nice and had it organized well.

Amazing view! Even though it was full, because of a convention, the staff was friendly and did not rush nor forgot a thing.

Nice room, friendly, helpful staff, a problem-free stay (3 nights).

No bottle water on the room and no mini fridge. They expect you to get a cup which isn't even readily available next to water fountains. Recommend going across the street to target and loading up on water after you check in if you don't want to die of thirst in the middle of the night

World worst Marriott ever! The room they gave is connect to the suite, when we get there the connection door is open!! Thank god there is nobody in that suite.

Excellent place to stay! Convenient and easy to use Metro transit services.

Located in the city overlooking the bay this places feels more like a resort than convention hotel featuring pools and a tequila bar - all with nice San Diego weather. The rooms are quite large and many have views. Staff here were pleasant and accommodating worth the stay.

The Grand ballroom and reception area are beautiful.

The hotel was nice and easy to navigate. The ballroom we were in was spacious and was decorated luxuriously. Parking prices were high but that is to be expected in a hotel like this.

Nice view to the bay from hotel room, staff is nice and helpfull. Not impressed by the cleaning of the room though ... When I opened the balcony window, suddenly I had clouds of flying dust in the bedroom (coming from inside the room) ....

Comfortable accommodations with a great view of the city. Right on the water, and close to gas lamp.

This hotel is beautiful and located right in the heart of San Diego's downtown. There isn't a room with a bad view in the whole hotel, and the event spaces are gorgeous. The hotel lobby and main floor can get very hectic and crowded at times (especially if the event spaces are being used) but the rooms are peaceful and relaxing. All this confess at a very high price and parking fees are a bit excessive. That being said, you will enjoy your stay or event at this Marriott.

Hotel and rooms very clean, and some of the areas have exceptional service, however - not totally consistenty. We stay at this hotel annually for business activity and they staff does a nice job with changing the details and making each event fresh!

Ate lunch at Marina Kitchen. Food was amazing and great waitstaff. Good selection of drinks at the bar!

Beautiful views would be nice if the concierge level was open Friday evening and would also be great if they serve breakfast on Saturday morning as well.

You cant ask for better location. Great service all around. However the rooms need to be renovated. Considering the cost and out dated rooms I would check elsewhere before staying here again.

Amazing staff, worked very hard to turn around a bad travel situation at the Embassy Suites San Diego Bay into a great experience at the Marriott Marquis. Special thanks to Cristina C. For saving my vacation, housekeeping who met our every need without being asked and the very charming valet team that treated us like VIPs.

The truth that I loved, I was in event and the service was very good.

Nice place, but if you have the misfortune of getting stuck in the south tower, you ll have to wait up to 20 minutes at times to get an elevator. They need at least double the elevator capacity that they have.

Great amenities. Good location. Walking distance to the gas lamp district. Clean.

Marriott Marquis with no room service?!? Wow! They offer "Fresh Bites" that is to say a convenience store menu that can be delivered to your room for $8 in a "grab and go" package. If I wanted grab and go why would I want it delivered to my room? Sad!

Great experience staying here! The staff was hospitable and loved the 24-hour yoga on tv. Very close to the shore and many fun locations nearby! Will be returning for sure!

Just had an amazing Thanksgiving buffet at the Marquis!!!! I specifically have to thank Chef Rafael for accomodating my extreme allergies-not just accomodated but went above & beyond with a spectacular perfectly cooked filet mignon that I did NOT even need a knife for.... Server Alex & Manager Chris for being extra attentive and reassuring. The buffet had an extensive selection of foods & desserts, carvings, incredible sauces, organic egg choices, amazing!!! My family will absolutely be returning! Complete with an incredible marina view, or option to view the games on an array of tv s. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Attended a conference at this beautiful hotel in Sept 2017. The meeting space is top knotch and the meals were tasty and filling. The breakfast options are almost too numerous! Only complaint has to do with the AV / technical support in the meeting rooms.. experienced consistent issues with the microphones throughout and lack of readiness with loading slides. Detracted significantly from an otherwise excellent conference.

Excellent conference center. It's very well kept up with gorgeous conference rooms and helpful staff. Layout is a little confusing with the two towers, but it's not too terrible once you get your bearings.

The staff are very accomadating, I am a nursing mommy here for an all day work event. I had inquired about a mothers room for pumping and they set me up in a private room and asked if I needed a place to store my milk. Very happy with this hotel: clean, and all staff are willing to go above and beyond.

I was in North Tower Double guest room in Marriott. The room had AC, windows from too to bottom ,it had visual alarms, notification devices for doors and phone,well there was very fast internet/wifi connection ,32 inch flat screen,and the room service was excellent!!! Had an amazing time there!!

Very nice hotel, though the rooms have thin walls and allow many noises from outside and inside the hotel in.

Iwas only there 1 nite but it was a hotel that really caters to their guests. From food you can obtain all hours. People are available and courteous on contact. Lovely live music performance. Spa. Reataurant. On and on. But because i checked in late and was dead tired i really appreciated the lovely room..which was very roomy and quiet. The shower was great and the amenities lovely. Great towels. And the greateat of all treasures was a nice soft bed with lovely pillows that gave me a wonderful nights' sleep. THANK YOU.

Opulent, and pre-comicon I would've said tasteful, but they've got the buildings wrapped in giant cable advertisements and it looks awful. Also, some if the restaurant staff were incredibly rude. But, they're growing food in some of their planters, so there's hope.

well... you should not expect a dated and dirty room when you pay 450 a night! they charged me 3 times for one night parking! and i called them to address the issue. but their lines are too busy! after spending 2300 in their hotel, they would not answer my call! you have to pay for the internet as well!! what a rip off....

I stayed here - and have a few thoughts.

First - I checked in on a Monday (9/28) at like 2am - whoever the young lady working the front desk was - she was incredible. She was friendly - helpful - and made a tired and miserable person happy to finally be at their destination.

The hotel was clean and fun.

My only complaint is the room I was in. This room number was 26044 and to access the room I had to get off on the 25 floor and then find the staircase up to 26 adn my room. That in and of itslef was no problem - but beside room 26044 is some kind of storage closet. Inside that storage closet there was something running (washing machine, generator, something) that ran very near constnatly and you could hear the noise from room 26044 - which was not fun at all. You could also hear trains going by - but that wasn't too bad. The noise from the Storage closet was super annoying - and I'm not sure I'd recommend the Marriott puts anymore guests in this room until they figure that out.

All this being said - I'm a Marriott Rewards member - and that won't be changing.

Excellent location, very good facility with 24 hrs restaurant. Proximity to airport( 4 to 5 miles at the most).

The San Diego Marriott Marques was the BEST! I have no complaints whatsoever. My husband and I enjoyed our experience from the time we walked in the door until the time we left. We would recommend the San Diego Marriott Marques to All of our family, friends, and colleagues.
A job WELL DONE!

Gorgeous pool, rooms are fantastic and you can't beat the location.

I only spent a few hours here but from what I saw, it was very nice. The gym was great, but there wasn't much to do.

I work very close to the Marriott Marquis and so far on what I have seen the stage is very professional and courteous so that tell's me the rest of the hotel is the best that San Diego,ca can offer to guests.

Right on the harbor. It's a great hotel with stunning views. Located right near Petco, seaport village, the gaslamp quarter, and the San Diego convention center.

Marriott personnel were very welcoming and assisting in directions to conference! Greatly appreciated!

Comfy bed, great pool area. I spent an inordinate amount of time at the Tequila Bar.

Huge. Beautiful. Pricey. Room was ok for the price, low ceilings and kinda dated, but naturally clean and the right temperature. Service was. Fine. Marina restaurant was very good. Grounds we're beautiful.

I was in the Grand Ball Room for a Business Dinner. I had the vegetarian meals which was a risotto and was very delicious. The room was visually very nice and the sound was distributed nicely distributed to fill a room with 1,000 people.

Here for Comic Con. Area is eloquent and has great views. Nice pool

Great place. It's really 5 stars but they make themselves out to be "green" but they use so many single-use cups, etc.

I have lunch at the Marina kitchen at the Marriott marquis near the convention center had a delicious flat bred overlooking the beautiful pool grounds there in San Diego hotel is only about a 2 minute walk to the convention center in just minutes from the gaslamp district a great place to stay what either for work or vacation

Hotel is nice, but housekeeping very poor. Also, pool packed, but they close the pool bar at 3 pm???? On a weekend??? For the money they charge I would think they could find a bartender to work the ONLY bar at the pool! Especially when almost every chair was occupied around the pool area! Not impressed for an almost $600 2 night stay!!

I didn't stay there my dad did but it was in a really awesome location and he enjoyed it

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Attended for a conference event and enjoyed it's proximity to the marina and the nearby neighborhoods. Would definitely stay again.
