Such a nice hotel. From the staff to the rooms, everything was great. Had a little hiccup with the room selection when we arrived but the front desk staff made the correction and gave us an unbelievable room. Customer satisfaction is definately a top priority. The amenities on site are also great, good gym, restaurants, Starbucks and 24 hour snack/food store. Also right on the boardwalk/water front with shopping and more restaurants within a 5 minute walk.

I had to wait in line 20 minutes to check-in. I've never had to wait anything like that at any other hotel. The hotel staff didn't seem very concerned about the inconvenience to their customers.

This is a beautiful property with comfortable rooms and lots of amenities. The views of the marina and harbor are gorgeous. The meeting rooms and banquet halls are comfortable and well situated to the needs of the hosts as well. This hotel is within walking distance of several of San Diego s tourist areas as well.

Perfect Location, Spectacular Views

Perfect Location, Spectacular Views
I recently stayed at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina for a work conference. The hotel was chosen by the vendor putting on the conference but it was definitely a great choice. It is located right downtown, minutes walking distance from the Gas Lamp Quarter and directly on the waterfront.
Check-In: The staff was very professional, helpful and courteous - checking in was a pleasure.
Rooms: I had a room with a half bay view, half city view (best of both worlds) The morning view was great looking over the bay and the night view of the city lights fantastic. The rooms looked new and clean and the bed put me to sleep in under 3 minutes. One neat thing about this hotel is each room has hookups connecting your laptop, tablet, game console or other device to the flat panel TV easily.
Dining: We ate one night at the Marina Kitchen inside the hotel - the tenderloin was very delicious and of course - tender. The wine was also very good.
Amenities - I was able to take advantage of the fitness facility a couple times during our stay. It is a well equipped gym with everything you need for a good workout. It was a bit cool in San Diego so we didn't go in the pool but It looked inviting nonetheless in it's tropical setting at the back of the hotel.
Must Do's:
Rent a bike (back of hotel) and tour the waterfront and other parts of the city.
Walk the waterfront, check out Seaport village and the USS Midway
Walk to the Gas Lamp Quarter do some shopping and try out some of the great open air restaurants along 4th and 5th avenues
Rent a car for the day (really cheap) - they have a Hertz desk right at the hotel

Don't:
Park your car at the hotel if you don't have to - it's $35 / day!

One of the premier hotels in San Diego. Daily resort fee gives some good perks, but I wish bike/kayak rentals were longer than an hour. Other hotels I've been to dont limit your time. Rooms are very nice and there are good restaurants on location. Everything here is very nice and you'll pay to get it. Self parking and valet are available and there is a tram stop just across the street. If you have an event at the convention center, this is the place to stay

My family enjoyed a very lovely stay here last weekend. The amenities were all in good working order, the staff was sweet, polite and professional. We would certainly visit again and stay here.

Not bad. Wish there were better more scenic views from the rooms. A walk away from downtown. Which is neat if you wanna browse and walk around a little. Shopping mall near by really walking distance ..if you happen to forget to pack something.

Facilities at the hotel are great, but checkout process took a very long time. Views from the rooms are pretty good, did not get a chance to try anything from the bar or restaurants so no comments on that.

Beautiful location, although parking was a little bit confusing and having been a guest at an already expensive hotel, overnight parking shouldn't be $40 per car. After going to the gaslamp for drinks I went back to my car in the Marriott parking area to grab a bag of belongings before heading upstairs, and a security guard was right near by and asked if everything was okay. It felt nice knowing the security is on top of it in case anything unsafe happens in the garage. Our room was beautiful and overlooked the city skyline. Beds were soft, room was immpecably clean.

Usually Over crowded, I checked in at 11 but they give room only after 3. This is as per there guidelines but I got my room at 5 pm. 6 hours of wait time.

You can get away with the wait time if you are alone and it s your buffer day but if you are in rush, this is not the place. You will be screwed.

Nice

Good location.

Good location.
Double beds means FULL Size (to Marriott) , not Queen (like the rest of the hotel industry). Valet is $50/night, self parking $35/night. $30/night Destination fee.
Not worth the money for my family and I.
Hyatt here we come!!!

The hotel was located convenient area in downtown. The views from the hotel was nice and they also had a really nice pool. One thing that bothered me was that they charge you for in room WiFi. They did have public WiFi in lobby area but it was a bit slow.
