San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina Review

I realize it's "THE" Marriott Marquis, and it's gorgeous and it costs about $300 a night to stay here, but there are definitely some disappointing things, especially considering the money my girlfriends and I paid. First of all, they were remodeling the parking structure and so it cost us $30 a day per car to stay there. On top of that, it was very hard to even find parking. We avoided valet parking because that was $40 per night. To spend that much and not find parking was a little disturbing to say the least. Their pub was dirty and gross, and when they brought extra towels, the towels were also dirty.

At the same time, it is an amazing hotel for the perfect location, and the staff is amazing too. There's this spa fragrance they've got pumping through the air in the lobby. I just wanted to sit there and get high off the wonderful smell, sipping my tea. It's therapeutic and peaceful, especially as a mommy getaway.

Great pool but took 20 minutes to get the wrong lunch order. I am sure that is not typically because everyone around me was getting their orders.

Great views, decent pool. Sub par food at hotel and slow slow elevators.

Was really close to sea port village. Staff was very friendly.

Gorgeous views, great access to city life and transportation. Very clean rooms and nice amenities. Will stay here again on next visit.

Felt like we were in Hawaii. Employees were great. Tons of activities.

Beautiful hotel next to the convention center. Parking is confusing and fairly expensive but you need to park. Very close to restaurants and activities. Hotel personal were extremely friendly and helpful. Great views and nice clean rooms.

Have been here several times and always find it to be a little slice of paradise. Was on business but brought the family and they loved the tropical feel of the pool area. Great hotel...highly recommend!

Just used their parking lot. Easy access to seaport village and marina walk.

Was there for an event. Very nice hard to find parking. But everything else was nice.

The hotel was beutiful and the staff was pleasant. I would stay here again. That said, the Wi-Fi is 15 dollars a night. That is an absurd amount to pay for internet. I needed to get work done and could not without shelling out 45 dollars. This practice needs to change.

I liked a lot the shape of the Marriott Marquis Hotel because that is both beautiful and showy.

Food wasn't too special but the facilities were nice

Visited The Hideaway spa in the hotel, absolutely wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and organic, clean and detailed. Friendly staff, good therapists. Had a massage and facial, enjoyed both. Will be returning.

This is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful outside area. I was only here for a trade show but the rooms are very nice and the ballrooms are really clean. The hotel rooms are very spacious and also clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel

San Diego is amazing and the Marriott marquis is no exception. The pool bar is the perfect place to enjoy the cool breeze and warm sun. Walking distance to the convention center and ther marina the location cannot be beat.

Piss poor service. Parking 38.00 dollars for 4 hours parking and no reciept, won't go back for any reason!!!

This was a great place for the large event that I went to.

The service was excellent, and the food very good. Normal hotel prices in the downtown area. I recommend it.

Very nice hotel. A bit pricey but it's close to the waterfront and some great restaurants and shops. Libby staff are very friendly and helpful.

Clean, well appointed rooms and great location makes it a perfect location for either a vacation or conference gathering.

Had a very nice stay at great property. Only complaint would be the noise from pool area travels to rooms. Get high room to get away from noise. Also north tower is the best.

Very nice hotel. Clean room with a great view of San Diego. The hotel is right next to the Bay. We walked to cheesecake factory for dinner from the hotel. Park early before the parking lot is full.

It has degraded considerably over the past ten years. Lackluster hotel existing only to make money. Came in last night famished. I waited 20 min. at the bar, north tower, but the waitress wouldn't serve me because she was too busy talking to customers and staff. I left more hungry than ever and ordered a cheeseburger and a can of pepsi on room service. The burger was bone dry and condiments were lacking. You'd think that for $29 you'd get a decent burger. Go to MacDonald. It's way much better.

San Diego is a COOL PLACE this place is right downtown a few minutes away from everything there is to go see

I visited the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina for an all-day business conference. The venue is gorgeous and located right next to the San Diego Convention Center right by the water. The staff were courteous and responsive, the food was good, the view was gorgeous, and the rooms were well equipped. I would definitely find a reason to go there again!

Attended the ISTAT Conference 2018 here and loved the experience.

Beautiful views of San Diego Marina. Pool is very clean and towel check out is available. Parking is below to the side and you have to walk some to get to and from your car. Boardwalk is right behind the hotel near the yachts.

It is just ok. In comparison to JW Marriott, the service is just average from valet to check-in lobby to buffet. It often feels chaotic during check in and check out. It could be improved a lot more. I would try other hotels before coming back.

The location, the view, the friendliness of its employees, the rooms could be improved. In short I really liked the hotel.

I had a great stay here. Room service was prompt and the pool and hot tubs are beautifully landscaped. You're right by the water so you can easily take a walk down by the boats. Clean, and the bars are pretty great too!

It was quite comfortable sleeping on the park benches with newspaper blankets at night. The pigeons kept me quite warm. One lady Sat on me and woke me up but... When I seen her face, I told her she could stay on top of me.

Location is very nice, near many restaurants and shops. Front desk clerks are not very helpful, not interested in helping guests. Nice views, clean rooms.

Went here for ERE San Diego. Really nice venue, large windows in the lobby and a beautiful view. Would definitely love to stay here someday!
