Rented a car at the hertz. Beautiful hotel, food smelled very good and menus looked attractive. The pool area is absolutely gorgeous and there is lots of space. Gift shop is large but the pricing is outrageous.

The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was great and I loved the walk-in shower. I was not as impressed with my view, and not getting to pick my room view. I also had problems at check in as someone else made my booking. The manager was able to help me out though.

A very nice business like Marriott on the bay and Marina in the most Choice section. It is not a place one would go with the family for a vacation, but really for seminars and things like that.

Marriotts loyalty status no longer exists for anything. Platinum members do not get upgrades, free breakfast, cocktail vouchers or any other perks at this resort. If you were planning on using the concierge lounge on the weekend, they are closed...

Want a getaway to San Diego? Be expected to be in a very standard Marriott room, with a bay view ((maybe even a balcony, only if you re lucky)) - for me, I m currently in a very traditional room, no balcony or anything. Just checked in for a one day staycation and can not wait to get out of here. Bug bye $350. Ugh.

Oh! And there s a $30 resort fee, this includes a $10 voucher for food, and access to the gym..

Think your 75 nights or more a year are worth anything?! Think again at this resort.

From past experience the biggest perks of this hotel are: the pool, great breakfast ($30 per person) and the proximity to the convention center.

Love Marriott brand? Considering spending your Money at the renaissance or US grant instead? Over the whole brand like me? The Omni, Hyatt and Pendry are fantastic choices to choose from.

A high-class resort within walking distance to the San Diego Convention center, Seaport Village, and all that downtown San Diego has to offer. Ideal for business travel, but perfect for anyone seeking luxury, and convenience.

I attended a conference in the Marriott Marquis San Diego and I can only say that the service was excellent. They have really friendly staff that always try to be one step ahead of you with whatever you need. I will definitely come back.

Clean establishment with a polite staff, and talk about a room with a view. This made staying in downtown San Diego that much nicer. The hotel also has an incredible smell, and not one of those fabricated forced smells... It just smells so darn good.

I stayed here for a conference and overall it was average at best. The room was not special in any way. Our fridge had problems and we ran out of hot water several times (including the morning we were flying out which was great). They charged us $40 a night to park our car at our hotel and never mentioned a single thing about it. For such an expensive hotel, the fact that I paid $250 just to park my car and that no one would feel compelled to mention it is crazy, and not care when I called to ask about it. Normally I am not one to complain but this was pretty frustrating.

Super good breakfast buffet. Better than the breakfast buffet at the Ritz-Carlton in Maui and half the price. Esmeralda is a rockstar!!!! Rooms have great views, beds are very comfortable, hertz rental car is convenient but not well staffed. Front desk staff, housekeeping, and restaurant staff are all very courteous and accommodating. Shower in room is wonderful and high enough on the wall to accommodate 6ft 2in people. Will return if possible in the future....

The staff is great! Beds are very comfortable. The whole place is clean. Everything is stupid expensive but it is downtown San Diego. Still. $4 bottle of soda. $36 breakfast buffet. Not to mention CA charges a fee for everything. I just said screw it its only money then had a great time.

Hotel staff is completely incompetent. I've been billed twice for the same room, and getting a refund is simply impossible. They make you call Marriott Business Services which is entirely disconnected from any hotel accounting departments as far as I can tell. Worst hotel experience I've ever had.

This is a very nice hotel and resort situated in downtown San Diego on the waterfront. There are several restaurants and bars within the hotel. The hotel is very near a lot of shopping. Public transportation via a trolley system is within a very short walk. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated, spacious, and comfortable. Everything is very clean and upscale. This is definitely a very nice place to stay for a night or longer.

Great resort with an awesome location. Walking distance to gaslamp, light rail and city bikes across the street. Clean, comfortable rooms with a great staff. Really nice pool area for a downtown hotel too

A beautiful property with excellent service. The food and drinks at the pool were plentiful and tasty. If you are not staying at the hotel but are a visitor, as I was, park next to the crab shack for cheap!!
