Upon check in there was some confusion with paymen...

Upon check in there was some confusion with payment. All of the rooms had been booked and paid for under a single account and card holder. This was done to ensure all the rooms with the discounted rate for booking so many at once. We were being charged for ours all over again. The receptionist was very nice and assured us that even though we gave our credit card we would not be charged double for the room, that it would be straighten out by the morning. It was, so kudos to their staff. Even though there was a hiccup, it was taken Care of with no fuss and all was well in the world for the customer. However there was an issue with your valet. Not sure on your handicap policies but we were charge 50$ to park valet. Then when we picked up the vehicle we were a ways on the road only to start discovering that it had been ransacked. All of our stuff that was in the glove box, box between the seat and other nooks in the car had been gone through. All the money that we had, 2 gold chains with medallions, and a Rolex watch were gone. There was only about 20$ in cash but still it is the point. Our things should have been secure in the valet parking. Anyways other than the valet issue we found your resort to be just lovely. We would definitely come back again. Our room was gorgeous. It was so nicely comfortable and luxurious. The bed was lick sleeping on a cloud. The views were stunning. We were blessed with an upgrade to a corner room. Fabulous views!!! Just can't say enough about the room quality.

Beds are firm and comfortable. Views are fantastic if you have a view of the bay, but it's a convention center oriented hotel. Pool is not big enough for both towers. Lobby gets quite crowded. I would say 5 stars for a convention hotel, 3 for a vacation hotel due to the lack of space.

This is a really great Hotel in San Diego. It has excellent gluten free choices on the menu, the rooms are great with lovely views of the bay and the pool is good to relax at. An easy walk to all local amenities so we thoroughly recommend.

I redeemed a lot of points for a two-night stay here during a vacation in the summer. I redeemed the same number of points to stay the next two nights at the Coronado Marriott, and they are two very different hotels.

The Marquis is bustling; good luck with the elevators during peak times or if event guests arrive or depart. The hotel has no express elevator for higher floors only, so ALL elevators stop at all floors. We stayed on 11, which was definitely not a high floor, and elevators going down were constantly full by the time they opened on 11 during peak times.

The hotel's location was great for us as walking and driving were convenient. Our room was not quiet at all during evening hours; we heard our neighbors along with mystery noise each night and the dive-in movie in the pool below our room. So don't go seeking a quiet experience.

Beautiful location. Executive suite had no outlets unless you have extra long cords and move furniture to reach an outlet. No USB. Chose points over service but when we wanted room cleaned it wasn't. No towel racks sans one in shower, low end couches but quite rooms. Best for outdoors, be prepared to share pool with people off the street, not open to public but they figure it out.

Our event was hosted in the Pacific Room, which was nice. Spacious and well staffed for the event. The drinks served were a bit expensive even for downtown San Diego at 10 dollars for a glass of average wine. A little outrageous but that's just my opinion.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we felt extremely welcomed. The staff at the front desk was extremely accommodating and helpful, answering all of our questions and providing some really good recommendations. The hotel was very charming.

Nice Marriott in a great location. Staff did a great job of answering various questions. Easy access to the harbor boardwalk, convention center and gaslamp district. Room was very spacious. Need to pay close attention on which tower you are staying in since the elevator bays are not close.

I stayed here for a few days while attending a conference at the San Diego Convention Center next door. The accommodations were lovely, the staff was friendly and helpful, and it was incredibly convenient for attending the conference, not to mention the proximity to the lively downtown area. Top notch hotel!!

The location on the marina and proximity to the Gaslamp district cannot be beat. Next door to the convention center, the hotel is very walkable to many restaurants, shopping, and the bayfront area. Our room in the South Tower was average, not very modern. Perhaps the rooms in the North Tower with balconies are better. Simple things like hand towel racks, robes in the closet, and a refrigerator would have made our stay that much nicer. Parking is expensive, but rideshare is always 2 min away. The pool and firepit area is nice, but it was not warm enough for us to take advantage.

The location is great, the service is awesome. I loved it! The one thing all Marriott customers should do is make sure you get Ellie status because it has a bunch of perks like the lounge (free meals), rooms on the upper floors, and other little extras.

Excellent hotel, very satisfied with my stay. We were able to get a Bay view room with a balcony on the 20th floor. Beautiful view of San Diego. When booking your stay, you're provided with a number of vouchers for things to do.

This is an absolutely exquisite hotel, nestled in between Gaslamp and the harbour. The rooms are excellent, clean and beautiful. Ask for the glass shower if you can get one (who needs a tub). The pool is salt water so no nasty chlorine eyes or burns, and the boardwalk is just steps away.
It is an easy walk to the Horton Mall, Midway Aircraft Carrier, Richard Walker's Pancake House (a must try) and Petco Park (baseball stadium). It is an easy drive from the international airport, and has easy access to the city and highway 5. I would recommend this place to everyone.
Be prepared to spend though, as it is a 4 to 5 star hotel, and the costs of an establishment of that nature go with it.

Our corporation reserved rooms here in celebration of over 3100 days without injury on the job. Upon arriving in our town car after dinner for check in, we were not assisted or greeted. The woman working at the check in desk was very short with us, saying the hotel gave our block of rooms away due to an unexpected increase in guests that afternoon. She ended by saying there was nothing she could do for us with a forced disingenuous, plastic, smile. It is unbelievable that every room in this hotel was full on a Wednesday evening and very unprofessional of them to conduct business the way they did. I am a long time, loyal Marriott guest and over the years Marriott had always been my first choice. That is definately going to change now. I am very disappointed, I expected much better of this hotel chain.

Great view of the water and marina if you're on that side. Pool is very nice. Only problem is the lobby is huge and kind of a struggle to cross. (mostly a problem for older or disabled folk)

It's been awful so far for my family whom I spent a ton of points on to go while I had to work. As a Platinum Elite I booked a room on the concierge level with a balcony and bay view. Hoping naively to get an upgrade for them that didn't happen. They didn't have a balcony since those aren't available on the concierge level. So how can I book that on the Marriott site? The first time they went to the room it was a single bed when I booked a double for the kids and mom on vacation. She had to go down and ask for another room. I spoke to the front desk lady while she was down there with my wife and asked for a nice room with the amenities I requested and spent many points on and they still got the wrong thing. She ended up with a city view on the concierge floor with no balcony. She gave up and just stayed in the room since the kids were tired. Of course, I never got the extra points back I spent on the balcony or the bay view.

Everyone is very nice and accommodating. I was given a beautiful room with a view of the bay. The balcony was such a nice plus. It's also completely enclosed so my 1 year old could be out there with us which was perfect. We walked down to seaport village and enjoyed happy hour. Great location!

Front desk staff were very nice and accommodating. The conference was staffed by professionals and the provided food was excellent. Great pool area and nice gym. Plus, the lobby smells like lemongrass. +1 would stay again.

Went in for a conference for San Diego comic con international. I got lost upon entering trying to find where the meeting would be and one of the staff was so kind to see my perplexed face and direct me where I needed to go. I'm very grateful and would love to visit again for all the lovely panels San Diego comic con has to offer. I can't imagine how the crowds must be but the fact someone stopped to check on me a day before the convention really spoke to their culture.

Beautiful facility, lovely view. Disappointing management. We stayed 4 nights November 23-27 9 th floor room 220.

There is quite a distinction between elite guests and regular folk. We did not feel welcome. We found out that we are being charged an additional $30 per night for self parking or $47.50 for valet parking. The parking spaces are narrow.
In every other hotel I've stayed at - wifi was complimentary but not at the Marriott San Diego. According to other guests, paid- for wifi ends at 12 noon not 24 hrs later.
For elite guests, there is complimentary breakfast, not for us.
When we got to our room, I used the facilities and found several pubic hairs behind the door - we didn't want to make a fuss and decided to not mention it to staff -after all, we were the last ones in the area.
There was one bar of soap to share between the shower and hand washing. Gross.
The lamp by the bed was dusty and the shade had cast off spots of what appeared to be dried blood. :0(
The beds were comfortable, sheets luxurious, soap lotion, shampoo delightful. The doors are quite heavy and by accident slam loudly.

My son had just returned from a 9 month naval deployment and had made arrangements for our stay through orbitz so he felt stuck as he had already been charged.
We will never stay at the Marriott San Diego again.
