This hotel is really well kept. The rooms were fantastic. The view from the balcony was incredible - we had views of both the harbor and the city. It's a short walking distance to Gaslamp District as well as a little village along the water. The hotel's private pool/patio area is impressively spacious - huge pool and separate kiddie pool, plus 2 hot tubs on opposite ends. There is a bar with good food, cabanas, and firepits. There's also a gorgeous path along the water with short jetties to stroll down. Highly recommend!

We normally get a suite here for the 4th of July celebration. Last year (2012) was a bust due to malfunctioning fireworks show but other than that we we had a blast. Great location and the views are just awesome. we faced the navy base and saw lots of navy ships coming and going. If you hate loud noise, stay away from the city side as the trolley will keep you awake at night. Over all if you can afford to stay here, do so.

A great place to stay. Grand common areas. Small but nice rooms with really great views. The restaurants are really great. The bars are friendly and active. I attended a conference here and freaky ennis my time.

This was the venue for our Marine Corps Ball. Absolutely fantastic location, service, food and the function area was clean and offered plenty of room for the 890 people attending the event. Highly recommended!

It's touted as a Luxury Hotel but it's not on par with the Ritz. The accompanying amenities are nicer than the rooms themselves, comparatively speaking.

24 hour food access downstairs was very convenient. Pool accommodations are good as are the restaurant options and availability.

Did not stay overnight here, but participated in a conference they hosted for two days. Everything was great. The meetings rooms seemed well apportioned. The meals catered were wonderful. Specifically the meals were so much more than the usual rubber chicken covered by some flavorless cream sauce. Instead they were varied with a touch of local flare. All and all... I hope the conference returns at some point in the future so I may also return and perhaps stay in the hotel itself.

I love this hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, as one might expect. But it's the excellent fitness center and huge pool area that make this location so special. The fitness center has everything you could need for your workout session. And the pool deck has two pools, a hot tub, tons of lounge chairs, fire pits, sofas, and a decent bar/restaurant. I love eating dinner poolside on a warm San Diego evening. And finally, the location of this hotel is top notch. You're right on the marina, within walking distance of all kinds of shops, museums, and restaurants. And the gaslamp quarter is just a stroll or bike ride away.

The hotel is on the water and is beautiful inside and out. There is a lot of seating and lounging areas in and around the hotel. It's a nice place to do work or spend time chatting with friends. It is a nice venue for a conference, which invites networking and casual side conversation after talks etc.. The staff is professional, kind, quick and out seems like they go out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience for their guests. I found my standard room on the North side of the hotel to be spacious and comfortable. One con is that I can hear the person's phone conversation through the wall slightly, but that is not uncommon.

Everything was on point. Me and girlfriend decided our vacation and Marriott staff was wonderful. From our checkin to checkout everything was fantastic. It is kind of you get what you paid. YES they are little pricey but it was totally worth it.

It Is BIG...
Prices are in line for SAN but it always irritates me to pay $5 for a cup of coffee in a hotel lobby where my rooms is $300/night. Rooms are standard fare Marriott. Please note - after being there 4 nights and 5 days - the fact neither room service nor any of the lounges has NORMAL food - what's a guy have to do to get buffalo wings or a PLAIN salad - you know, with green leaf lettuce... Pathetic move on Marriott - who is usually very good at managing those types of ideals. Nice pool area, but overall, too big and impersonal.

Accommodations were quite comfortable for convention. However the hotel is slightly dated. Location was excellent on the bay. However they lack a hotel shuttle to the airport. The hotel sits right on the bay and has a nice boardwalk and other amenities..

Bigoted. Requested minority guests to leave on the basis of their skin coloring, forcing them to prove they were guests of the hotel when others around them (white) were not. Unbelievably shameful!

Parking was outrageous. We were visiting my uncle while he was in town and was charged 35 dollars! Front desk wouldn't validate our parking even though my uncle only had one car parked. Thats ridiculous.

During the process of making my reservation I was Given the amount for the additional parking fees after Going through the reservation Process At that point in the reservation phone call I told the hotel that I did not want the reservation any longer and I was told it was Cancled. A week later I was billed for the reservation. Upon contacting Marriott I was then told a case would be opened and it would be up to 90 days before I can receive a refund if they determined it was due. This is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. Who can afford to have thier funds held up for 3 months during this crisis because of thier error.. I will never be utilizing thier company again

I absolutly love this hotel. I stay here everytime they offer government rate. The breakfast in the concierge lounge is the best in all the Marriotts I satyed at in the world. I travel 300+ days a year. All the on site restaurants are incredible. You don't even have to leave the hotel to have a good experience. If you are ever in San Diego look to stay at this hotel.

Fui al restaurante que esta ahi. La comida era fresca y preprarada en en una forma de artistas. Lo unico que no me gusto es que las proporciones eran un poco pequena pero era muy rica.
Los servientes eran muy amable eh paciente con nosotros.

Great location, easy walking distance to a lot of attractions. If you are visiting, skip the rental car unless you have things you want to do outside of San Diego. It was $30 to self park and $50 to use Valet. Uber e everywhere was about $12 (airport, zoo, Coronado for example)

Rooms on the 7th floor are very nice with excellent view. Downstairs bar service is a bit slow when packed but the drinks and beer are excellent. Very centrally located and excellent pool area with hot tub. Internet/WiFi is pretty good in rooms and lobby but a little slow by pool.

They charge you for everything that you could get free at other hotels, like the internet and $28/day for parking, absolutely ridiculous after what you spend for your room which is nothing special. Very average, for the price you pay you would expect something super fabulous. The best part of this hotel is the pool with the bar that serves drinks and tasty nachos to you while you are laying out. I won't stay at this hotel again because the nickel and dime you until your broke.

Attended a beautiful wedding ceremony. Outdoor patio/venue was massive and impressive. The new ball rooms were simply amazing. Decor was top notch. Rooms were unimpressive. Only negative was the lack of close restrooms around meeting areas. Ballroom to restroom was far.

Stayed here for a long weekend over Thanksgiving. The holiday brunch was impressively done and high quality. The harbor view from my room was wonderful with a perfect angle for the sunset. There is a 24-hour quick restaurant available as well as a Starbucks and two other full service restaurants with regular hours, plus a poolside bar that serves Mexican-inspired cuisine. This definitely feels like a resort-like hotel with the expansive pool area and spa/fitness services. Note there is a $25/night experience fee but in return you get wine tastings, $10 per day credit to Starbucks or the Exchange quick serve restaurant, hour bike rentals, free internet, and a few other perks. Take advantage of these if you want the best value!
