I recently got a puppy that needed her vaccinations. I scheduled the appointment online. Thankfully, even with COVID-19, they are still seeing patients. I got there early and they fit me right in. They took such great care of us. I noticed that when I went to make her 12 week appointment that they were booked up 5 weeks out! So, I emailed them and asked if they could contact me if there was a cancellation. The very same day, I received a phone call from them and they made space for me. I went ahead and made her 16 week appointment at the same time, so I do not have to worry about it being all booked up and Penny not getting her very important vaccinations. I love the work they do here. This is an amazing group of people. I also really enjoyed talking to the lady who checked us in at the door. Thank you for all that you do.

This is a wonderful facility. It's a beautiful space and the animals have a lot of room and as much personal attention as you could ask, considering how many animals they care for. Many many dogs and cats and a handful of other animals. The *only* complaint I have is that the kitten I adopted (May '16) wasn't wearing a break-away collar.

This place is okay, I adopted an awesome dog from here about a year ago. However, their adoption fees are the highest out of all the shelters in the area, on top of that they never have adoption drives like other shelters do. They seem to care more about getting money for the animals than finding them loving homes. They won't work with you on adoption fees, sorry but I'd much rather spend the $100 on new toys, a doggie bed, some food/treats, and maybe a leash and collar for my new pal than give it to the spca. As we all know it doesn't truly go all to the animals.

There's always something wrong with this place. 1.5 hour wait times for vaccinations, terminating kittens when bringing in stray cats, writing the wrong information on animal sheets, there's always something wrong here. Today was the last straw, go somewhere else, I am.

My 10 month old female Yorkie has gotten spayed here. She was in good hands. She went through the surgery well with no complications. She has healed beautifully and is back to her old high energy self. I am very pleased at how our day turned out.

We were so impressed with everyone at the spay & neuter clinic! They were so friendly and knowledgable.
I even got back a lunch box that is a to go kit for our dogs....and it was there for a week. We realized that we did not have the kit we keep for the dogs in our truck and when we went back a week later a really nice woman answered the door, (even though they were closed) and she said, "what a great kit for the dogs, we were impressed that you have everything you need for your dogs".
We originally took our Min-Pin in to be spayed and the clinic noted that she needed her vacines and if she had any bad teeth they could take care of these at the same time. We picked Nina up at 4:00 and the whole bill for everything was much less than I expected. Love you guys..... I just bought SPCA Insurance and they have made a friend for life out of me.

The staff was helpful and answered all my questions. They do minor medical and intakes by appt, there is a fee for surrender. They can not take in lost or stay animals but can direct you to a local shelter who can help. They offer spay and neuter services as well as shot clinics.

Went to go adopt a dog , we fell in love with one. Unfortunately she had fleas and flea eggs on her . I asked if I would be able to adopt her and get her groomed and bring her back in to get spayed . I was told no. In fact she would have to be spayed first before I could take her home and she could not get groomed for 10 days. I don t see how the SPCA expects a family to adopt a dog with fleas . I don t want my home to be infested and put my family in danger. I know adopting a dog is more ideal but at this point , if I buy from a breeder I know I m getting a healthy , clean dog with paper work.
This poor dog is so dirty , smells, I held her in my lap for very short period of time , and I was wearing shorts my skin got irritated within minutes and started itching . My leg was irritated until the next day! How could I bring this dog home to my 7 year old daughter with fleas. I understand they are a non profit but they should put more effort into their poor dogs . I still think about the dog and would like to adopt her , but not at the expense of my families well being .

Shame on this place sending out the video of the 250+ rabbits that were taken from a 4H family & asking for alot of items when the family supplied them with those items to make sure their rabbits would be less stressed. They ask for rabbit food but no where have they asked for the specific brand that the rabbits were being fed. Quick feed changes can kill a rabbit. They are refusing to let anyone in to check on or even get a head count of how many are in their "so called care" They are refusing to answer any questions claiming they can't because of the investigation but yet posts a video & asks for donations. I would suggest doing your research before helping this SPCA out.

I have a dog who I love, but she's aggressive. Our SPCA does not offer any services for prevention. They stopped offering behavior consults or training. They only offer help to your dog once you've surrendered.
The only thing I've found offered locally for training beyond basic training starts at $1900.00. The lady at the SPCA was dismissive, "If you cant afford the training fee, you can abandon her and maybe someone else who can afford it will adopt her." Really? Whats the SPCA's adoption rate on a pit bull mix? The thing is, she's a great dog. If we could find some help, a trainer who charges hourly or info that addresses aggression that I can do myself, I know she would be a great dog.

I adopted Jake he is the most beautiful and amazing dog I ve ever had. On his paperwork it was sad that he was outdoors dog and he did not have an owner all the time with him he was left alone for more than 12 hours a day and SPCA was concerned with him being able to potty outside. He has been going only outside we didn t have any accidents he s exceptionally good dog and he s exceptionally good indoor dog. He s three-year-old and he s very smart and beautiful and he completes my life. I was wanted to say thank you SPCA for giving me a chance to take care of such a beautiful creature he s my best friend and my everything.

We got our wonderful girl Wylla (originally Sparkle) here. She is an absolutely amazing dog and a great way to start our little family. The staff is amazing and even let us stay late to meet with her and finish the adoption paperwork. They were very patient with all of our questions about our new dog and her aftercare following her spay. Sacramento SPCA is an amazing organization.

This location is not very conveniently located, but it is large, clean, and well staffed. It's heartbreaking to see so many animals homeless, but the staff are doing everything possible to keep them safe and healthy until homes can be found for them. Several volunteers foster animals off site, which helps lessen the overcrowding problem. I've been to a few shelters, and this one is one of the betters sites that I've visited.

My dog got out and the SPCA was called to pick him up. He was perfectly healthy going into the SPCA and he came out with kennel cough AND bleeding from his genitals. When I called they told me all they could do was offer end of life services.

The SacSPCA is clearly in the "rescue business" for the money, and not for the love of animals.
More than 200 rabbits were recently brought into the SacSPCA. They were clearly in great health and we're impeccably groomed (per the video uploaded by SacSPCA). The SacSPCA put these rabbits into inadequate housing and were describing how they were feeding them an inappropriate diet (despite the feed the rabbits were previously on being donated by the rabbit owners). Subsequently, it has been reported that at least 20 of the rabbits have died. Rather than listening to the advice of the rabbit community on proper housing and feeding, the SacSPCA is deleting comments and blocking commenters who are advising them on proper care. Apparently not looking bad is more important than properly caring for the rabbits.
These rabbits need to be rescued from SacSPCA. The amazing thing is - there is proper housing set up to care for ALL of the rabbits, but SacSPCA won't release the rabbits into this care until they get paid $6,000 PER DAY for the week of caring for the rabbits. Again, it's clearly only about the money for SacSPCA - holding these animals for ransom is more important than the rabbits getting proper care.

Trash.. my two cats who I've had since they were babies were taken when our RV that we live in was impounded for expired registration. This took place on 12/18 as of today 1/15 I cannot get a call back from anyone and no one will tell me where my cats are. I am the person on their microchip, I want to know where my cats are and why you people did this to my husband and I.

To the owners reply dont insult my intelligence and act as if you have no clue what I'm talking about and which two cats I'm referring to. Rancho Cordova officers took my two cats and sent them to you people. Yesterday I was finally informed my orange and white Cheeto had been adopted and my black Bowie as well. Crystal at your facility gave us this info where our cats were housed and adopted out illegally Those cats are mine who the hell gave you permission to adopt my property out? This is not over.
