We adopted Biggie yesterday. He is such a big goofy love bug. We love him to pieces. He is so funny and the best sense of humor. He sits, shakes, snuggles, gives big kisses and goes potty outside. He has taken a liking to our bed. I know that's not a good habit but we love him anyways.

Very rude via email. I wrote and asked about waiving the fee so I could have a companion...I have several medical ailments and am alone a lot so I get very depressed and lonely. I told them I have funds to care properly for the cat...priority care of cat by vet, shots, medical emergencies, etc. of course the cat will get the really good food and dust free clump litter...no odors or dust. Enough for now. I picked out a cat (s) Carrie and Gertie. They sounded perfect for my quiet one person home, no animals or children. Please support me in my quest for one of the cats. Thank you very much, Twyla V

I have adopted two pets here and have taken my puppy here for his booster shots. Every employee here genuinely loves their job and wants to help every animal they can. It's so refreshing to see everyone want what's best for the animals here. If you're looking to adopt, which you should!! Then please check out the SPCA. you won't regret it one bit!

It seems many of the negative feedback on here comes from people not informed of how shelters work, or surprised they couldn't just get whatever animal they wanted, especially if it was not suited to their life or would not have an optimal life with them.

Ive been there many times and they've always been completely polite. They allow you to look around in peace while you figure things out and make your decisions on what it is you want or need. If you need any help it's as easy as addressing one of the people working at the desk.

They help they give is superb, we've even had pets cremated with them and they made it as painless as could be imagined, and even gave us a box and lock free with the cremation so we could keep our passed loved ones remains with us. If you are in a position to properly care for a pet, such as keeping that pet in doors as all the pets they have their need anyways, and not having young children that would make for a worse environment for a pet seeking a new home, then I would definitely take a trip down to the Sacramento SPCA!

Caring staff. I took 3 feral cats into SPCA's Sunday Feral Cat Clinic for spaying/neutering with the help of an organization based in Galt called "Purrfectly Pawsible." Very thankful for both organizations.

Brought our small dog here for immunization's. Arrived at opening of the facility (earliest possible time- we were informed over the phone). This is a very long drive for us (approximately 53 minute drive) very nice friendly efficient staff and volunteers; after all sign in, paperwork, etc you wait & wait & wait after 3 hours and 12 minutes the Dr came outside to us and administered the vaccinations and gave us the necessary paperwork. Excellent staff volunteers and veterinarian, only complaint is the very Long wait

Wonderful place! I got my cat neutered here and the also microchipped him for an extra 10 bucks. They were very nice and everything was done exactly as explained and on time as promised. My cat had no complication with his healing and is a very happy cat today. I recommend that everyone adopt a shelter animal. This SPCA is a nicec clean, caring, and loving animal shelter with wonderful staff. I definitely will come here for any of my cat or dogs shots and if ever I am in the need of another loving animal to give a forever home to.

We found Nico there! In the midst of this outbreak, he takes us for walks, well trained 6 yrs young guy. Great on a leash, we're still in training. He's only potted inside once, again our fault.
He's been with us a few weeks, so much fun. Oh, the staff are eager to walk you through the adoption process. They are very good at what they do, placing a new family member in your home.

Very wonderful adoption agency! Got my mom a beautiful baby kitten for Christmas and she loves her so much! Her name is now Lelu and she's very crazy and playful. The staff here made the experience very simple and went above and beyond with their service! Will adopt from them in the future

Horrible organization that is near terrorist like. Steals well cared for animals and then begs the community for money to take care of them. all the while sitting on 3 million dollars in operating cash. the children they have stolen from will never forget the harm they have done.

We adopted Charlie from Sacramento SPCA 3 years ago. He is a senior cat 9 year's young. Charlie is a great addition to our family we love him!!!. I found the shelter staff to be honest and very helpful with finding me the right match for my little boys and the personality of the cat I desired. The shelter was clean and comfortable. I am now ready to bring home another Cat for our home and Sacramento SPCA I will be returning to for another adoption.

They provide a great service with the spay/neuter/shot program. I don't know how they do it. We take feral cats in occasionally and they are so busy dealing with so many people. It's June 2019 and Sacramento is projecting cutting funding for this service which is a huge mistake. Not everyone can afford to pay full price for spay/nueter at a vet. Defunding this program will just lead to excess births of unwanted pets which leads to stray animals and spreading of disease and more pets put to death.

Made appointments for our 4 kittens to be spayed, the staff was pleasant, helpful and efficient. I can hardly wait for the next SPCA Gala event, a fundraiser with some of the finest cuisine and beverages in town!

Never returned my messages. I put an adoption hold on a dog. I left messages confirming I will be coming in but no one answered the phones or returned my messages. I arrived 10 minutes after the hold expired and they let someone adopt the dog. Pretty disappointing service. Hope you can make impulse decisions because thats the only way you're adopting here.

Adoption counselors were nice and very well informed though.

In march, I was suddenly and unexpectedly homeless...

In march, I was suddenly and unexpectedly homeless. I had no choice other than to bring my baby girl Gracie to the Sacramento SPCA. When I found a place to live, I called them to see if I could get my dog back and was told that they had no information on her at all. So I wrote to them asking about her and was told that she was adopted after I had called them. So, they had her when I called and said they had no info on her, now they tell me she is gone. This little dog is my heart and has been with me since she was a puppy, we have been together for 4 years and now she is gone and I blame the sacramento spca for being shady about Gracie and for not letting me get her back. My life has been so miserable since she has been gone. I want my girl back!! They really suck for doing this. I believe that someone that works there adopted her and that is why they are doing this.

Lots of cool pets bored in cages waiting for life to begin. I was searching for my cat Dave. I had to fill out a report (already done) before I could look for my cat. It was a slow and time consuming process just to look for my cat. Didn't seem to be many volunteers either. They do keep the pets in a comfortable environment while they wait.
