Rumours is the top salon and spa in the area. The employees are all very courteous and helpful, and there hairdresser's are very experienced and up to date on new styles. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair.
The salon is beautiful, the service is great, and I can't imagine going any place else. I've been visiting Jenn C. at Rumors for over 15 years. She is the first person ever to expertly cut my thick curly hair in styles that can be worn both blown dry or natural. Recently Jenn wasn't available for a last minute appointment, so I saw Kay. Kay was fun and warm and a joy to be with and best of all my hair came out great!
I was at Rumors Salon and Spa yesterday 1/27/19 for a full body massage. I can not express enough how absolutely amazing my masseuse was. DAISY was phenomenal!! She uses a technique I have never felt before and with every stroke was relief. Truly truly an asset to your company! I can not wait to schedule another visit!

Seen lots of stylists over my many loyal years at rumors. All stylists being great. My current stylist Morgan Wheeler left and Rumors still booked/confirmed my appointment. No call. Just put me with another stylists I ve never heard of before, putting me in an uncomfortable position upon arrival. After all these years I think I deserved a call prior to my appointment. Will not be returning.

It is a fancy spa ! But definitely their service is not worth the price. I got derma planing done and literally i have minor cut on all over my skin. The lady who ever did exfoliating left brown scars on my skin. I think my skin looked much better before the treatment! I will never see them again.

I have consistently had excellent service provided by Heather and I consider her skills to be superb with respect to her hair styling.She takes pride in making sure that her client is satisfied and she cares about receiving feedback as to her ability to cut and style effectively.She has been most accommodating in meeting my demands and concerns,and she has provided me with a few minutes grace when I arrived late for scheduled appointments due to unforeseen circumstances.

This is the second time that I brought my 7 yr old and 4 yr old sons to the salon. It was another great experience. The stylist was super friendly to them and listened to the way they would like their hair cut. The host at the desk was very polite and friendly to both myself and the boys. They both look great with their new hair cuts.

Rumors Spa is absolutely amazing!!!! From the moment you walk through the front doors until you leave for the day, you feel completely relaxed, stress free and pampered. I am always telling my friends and family, that they have to go to Rumors Spa - you will not regret it. My sister came home from Florida in July and surprised her as I booked massages for both of us. About 10 minutes into the massage, she said "Oh my goodness - this is truly amazing and now I see what you rave about Rumors". It has now turned into a must when she comes home to visit.
I had an appointment on New Years Eve to get my hair done for an event I had going on that night, I left work early just to be on my appointment on time, I get there I waited a half an hour and finally I approached a customer service, after she did some research to my surprise she told me that everyone was busy and no one available to get my hair done!! Never going back!
My boyfriend is very picky about his hair, so finding a new salon was difficult. He was SO PLEASED with his results from Rumors Men!! His hair came out looking amazing. Looking forward to getting services myself upon the re-opening!

Honestly I don't understand all the high ratings. I've been here a few times and I really want to love it but I always leave feeling robbed. Today I booked in a last minute facial. I was in and out in under 45 minutes it was basically an $85 face wash with mask and hand massage. Very disappointing!

If you are looking for a place to relax with spa services this is not the place to get spa services. The relaxation room is a very clean and cute atmosphere but you hear all of the loud chaos from the salon since the spa is located right next to it example (all the blow dryers) not even that but EVERY MINUTE an employee is walking through the spa relaxation room to I am assuming cut through so they don t have to walk around. on several occasions a hair stylist (assuming) opens the door yelling and laughing which appears to be they are giving someone a tour. I have been here twice and BOTH times this has happened. people mostly get spa services because they are looking to relax. I ve learned this isn t the atmosphere to do so. One employee walked through the relaxation room to cut through on her phone talking SO loud. staff even come in no. Stop to grab refreshments that are put out. again the atmosphere is super cute and clean but for these prices you would think they would prioritize relaxation but apparently not. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back here.
Don't know why this has my husbands name but I love visiting here. My esthetician GiGi does a great job for whatever my "beauty needs" are, she is funny, quirky, very diligent and excellent at her job, a refreshing experience every time I visit. I highly recommend her and wish her the best in her beautician/esthetician journey.

I have been a part of the "Rumors family", or a client, for about the last 16 years (2001). When I changed jobs, I needed an accommodation for my schedule & I tried Rumors. It was the best decision I made to have my hair & nails done at Rumors.

All employees are knowledgeable, experienced & professional. They exceed the "high bar" set. All of the employees contribute to make Rumors one of the top salons.
My "super star" employees are Amy & Nikki who do my hair ( and "on back up" ) are Danielle, Dale & Richard. Mandy & Sylvia are great "nail people" & my manicures last a good 3 weeks, no matter what I put my hands through. I also tried having individual eyelashes applied & Ailis applied them to perfection. I have tried a few different salons in the past & the stylists cannot compete with Rumors. They cannot blow dry my thick hair, especially in 30 minutes. One salon even charged me extra because my hair took longer to dry. I tried color with another stylist & my greys still showed. This is where training & experience come in.
I always get compliments on my color & highlights & know that when I leave the salon, I look gorgeous ( at least my hair & nails, etc). and yes, I am asked where my hair was done.
Rumors is probably one of the more expensive salons in this area but I have found only 1 other salon that I would compare Rumors to in terms of service & price. Rumors consistently delivers on quality for each service & that is the goal & commitment from everyone at Rumors.

It is a very professional and relaxing experience with fantastic customer service. I have many friends that also go to this salon and feel the same way that I do. My stylist Minji is truly a top notch hairdresser, I am always extremely happy with her work!
The spa is beautiful and reception is always friendly. Minji does my hair and I never leave disappointed, she's an artist!!
I was a Rumors client for about 9 years, almost 7 with the same stylist.
A year ago - August - I decided to change my hair and had the best cut ever with my usual stylist and felt GREAT!!
In Nov I needed to have it trimmed before my regular appt due to a last minute party. My usual cutter was away or not available, so I chanced a visit with another cutter.
This stylist changed the cut and gave me a round helmet - and I am a grandma but I don't try to look one, which is what happened. Awful. I ditched the party because it looked terrible.
I sent an email to the manager saying 'tell your people to not change the hairdo if someone comes for just a trim', etc. I wasn't mean, didn't name the cutter, didn't demand anything.
In Feb I went back my usual stylist and the cut was not great but I figured my hair had to grow out more to re-achieve the GREAT look from August. Ok.
In May I had a HUGE event. Went back to usual cutter - my hair was sufficiently grown out to get back the great style, and I brought pics of my head with that great style.
When I was done the top of my hair looked like a mushroom, the sides were flat, and the bottom was rounded up like a bowl. I looked ridiculous, but I'd had bad blowouts before so I figured I would go home and fix it - you know how that is.
There was no fixing it. My hair was short and flat and seemed to be thinner than ever. I couldn't make it do anything. My event a few days later was ruined. I wore a headband and sunglasses and hid, and I looked so ugly.
Over the months I fried my hair trying to style it, spent literally hundreds of dollars on products. To no avail. I hated to admit that I couldn't go back to Rumors.
But, I finally made an appt at another salon, August again, last week. A whole year had passed since my great cut. 9 months of nothing but bad hair days.
Well, new salon/new stylist is cutting and says "Why do you have such short layers in here? Why are there 1-and-a-half-inch layers on your head"?
Which explained perfectly why my hair was short and flat and wouldn't do anything but lay there, dead; and then grew out in the worst mess I've ever seen. Even now it's going to be another few months before it grows out enough to actually fix it.
No, I have not contacted Rumors. What am I going to say? Can I prove it?

Everytime I walk out of Rumors, I feel like a new person in the best way possible! I leave feeling pampered and great about how I look. They are so professional and they take the time to make you feel comfortable. I had Dale as my stylist and she was incredible. 10/10 recommend

I have been here many times before. Unfortunately this particular time was prior to my sister s bridal shower. The girl that did my hair did not give me anything remotely close to what I wanted. I requested something romantic, up, off to the side messy bun, nothing too over done. I stopped the stylist twice to offer my concerns due to the very over teased very structured look with a low bun at the nape of my neck look I was getting. I ended up with a very old looking structured look with a low bun in the middle of my neck with pin curls. Very early 90s. After two times correcting her I gave up. I paid so much to just get in my car and pull the whole thing out. I was so very disappointed both with the time and money wasted before a crucial event.
I have tried several Spas in there area, BUT, I am now a Rumors Girl. They are the most Courteous, Friendliness, Caring employees I have ever met.
They make you feel welcome & relaxed.

Haiyan is a phenomenal massage therapist. Her technique has provided the only relief I have found for a chronic muscle injury. I highly recommend her for any massage service.
I love that the salon is split into female & male areas. It is much easier to relax in a robe in the spa area before and after services! The spa is very relaxing and beautiful.

I have been doing my own pedicure all my life, and quite successfully, I might add. But, everyone is doing professional 'pedi' now, so I decided, last July, to give it a try. Since i have some friends who got infections from some places, I went to several salons, inquiring about their equipment (especially soaking basins) cleaning practices, esp for pedicure (since water is circulated through drain and thus special antibacterial, antifungal methods should be in place).
Rumours was very forthcoming with their answers to my questions, so I came over for my - First ever!. Actually, I had done all the skin cleaning myself shortly before the visit, so the person didn't do any actual cleaning/scrubbing etc, which was OK with me, She put on nail polish (which I myself provided), I gave her a nice tip; and left happy..
When I got home and looked closer, I realized that only about 3/4 of each of my toenails had been painted! She never even bothered to push the cuticles!
I called the salon; they were very nice: offered to have the nails re-polished correctly, and gave me credit for a free pedicure. Sooo nice....
I called in September, before a trip, and was told the nice pedicurist was sick.. SO I decided to put off the visit. At no point did anyone mention any time limitations..
WHen I called this past May, things got kinda hairy... After promises to talk to 'higher managers', and those promises being broken,,, I finally managed to get the High manager, Casey, on the phone.... Who proceeded to sternly admonish me that they 'had extended that offer till November 2017, ALREADY'....(not that I was aware of it), and that the BEST she could offer me was 20% off a $53 season.
Given that I paid them those $53 already, with basically nothing to show for that.....
To summarize: those smiles and free coffee come at the expense of the Real service and attitude, which could be very deceptive. Based on my experience - beware.

Very reasonably priced and always get a great cut here. I always go with the junior stylists since their booking are less expensive and they do just as good of a job as a senior member in my opinion. Everyone here is very talented and accommodating!
I scheduled two 80 minute massages for my mother and I on Mother's Day weekend. I received a phone call saying that it was suggested to not have a stone massage and aromatherapy massage in adjoining rooms. I agreed. After my massage I noticed I was waiting awhile for my mother. Then I found out my massage was downgraded to 50 minutes without my consent. I was told it was a scheduling issue. Then, when we were paying the online price for my mother's massage was $110, but we were told there was an increase and were charged that price even after I showed Cassandra, at the front desk, my phone showing the online price. The staff did not try to rectify anything. Though the massages were good, the service I expect from a spa was unsatisfactory.
My stylist was very good, she knew exactly what I wanted and was talented. The rest of the crew were very friendly and courteous. The place is really cute.

I m one of those people who are all day on their feet and, as a cause, I get terrible lower back pain. This spa was recommended to me by friends. I was delighted with the experience. My masseuse, April, knew exactly how to treat me. She listen to what I had to say and delivered beyond my expectations. I had massages done in the past, but April was very detail oriented and was able to treat my issue in a way that I have never had it done before. I felt like a new person coming out of that room! Needless to say, I would recommend Rumors to anyone, but make sure you ask for April!!! I promise you won t regret it!

I love Rumors! I love how clean and trendy it is. My stylist, Minji, is absolutely the best. She always takes her time, talks me through everything and is willing to discuss changes I would like to make to my style at length before doing anything. I tried another salon while she was out and was incredibly disappointed. The other stylist had zero personality and I felt like my business was not appreciated. Rumors is worth the money and I feel like my stylist cares, which is always a plus. I always look forward to going to my appointments!
WARNING: To all customers that don't fall in the upper class, Rumors Salon only caters to the rich! If you're not coming in with a 3 carat diamond on your hand and a Louis Vuitton bag they will turn their noses up at you and treat you like a peasant. My husband wanted to make my birthday special this year so he payed for me to have a 50 dollar facial and a 100 dollar pedicure and it was a BIG waste of money. The staff was not friendly and they made no effort to make you feel special. Also, I have had many facials and pedicures and the ones I received were subpar at best.
This salon n spa is so beautiful! The girls up front who greet you are the nicest n super helpful! Highly recommended using there self tanning machine. I think its one of the best in the area.

My receipt reflected an a-la-carte menu for their services, and I noticed I was charged $30 for a blowout. The website specifically stated blowouts are complimentary with color, so I called thinking it was a mistake. I was told the website was wrong but was getting fixed that day. Even though the miscommunication was their fault and she apologized, I was never actually taken care of, which made me feel the $30 was more important than their customer service. I also paid for a balayage and what I received was more of a regular foil. It doesn't look bad, just not what I had in mind. I let her know, and she kept talking about the website and their policies, etc. etc.
Overall, I would have been fine with the price if the customer service experience had extended to complaints as well as good experiences.

My stylist was very friendly but I was disappointed with the cut and I ended up going somewhere else shortly after to get it re-done. I have thick wavy hair, which is not the easiest to cut and style. The second place I went to was definitely better.

Mari Aviza and Lisa Norbert have made going to Rumors a "hair experience" not just going in for a cut and color. From the minute you walk in the door someone greets you, gets you coffee and cookies if you like or a sparkling water.The hairdressers are all friendly, and have always made a point to remember my name whether or not I was thier client. I have had a variety of their hairdressers and have never been disapointed. I have stayed with Rumors all these years because they are simply the best educated, talented group of consumate professionals in the area. The cost is equal to the value received. Hands down, Rumors Salon gets 5 stars!

First of all making an appointment was quick and easy they got me in the day i called. The place was absolutely beautiful very upscale at reasonable prices. I received massage on the rocks which was fantastic and very relaxing. I am from out of town so when i return to albany i will be making an apt. April was my massage therapist i highly recommend her! Also please leave your stylist or massage therapist a nice tip these individuals take pride in what they do and it really shows.

The best hair experience I've ever had. They had an event going on the evening I went and it had the most delicious food. My stylist gave me a very relaxing hair wash and was very receptive to what I wanted done and was okay with tweaking it to my preference as we went. I'll definitely be going back!

Rude and inconsiderate staff. Asked if we were employees of the bank and asked why we parked in "their parking lot" across from the building. There's no signage and we left the spots for "customers" as we were using their community room (free conference room). Instead of asking nicely, they just yelled at us from the entrance... There's plenty of parking near the building and there is NO signage that indicates it's reserved... Not impressed at all.
MY HAIR IS BRIGHT ORANGE!! This place looks nice but their service is completely not worth the price tag. I had an appointment with dale and she had her assistant doing my hair almost the whole time. I wanted a one process color and toner to take out the brassy tones, she insisted i needed highlights, which i didn t,and tried to charge me $200. I specifically asked toasked ashy toned hair and walked out with DRY DAMAGED ORANGE HAIR. Save your $ and go to a salon that actually knows how to do hair.
I ve been going to Rumors for about a year now. After moving to the area, I tried the services of several places but never felt comfortable until Rumors and Laura. Laura has been great; I felt comfortable and at ease right from the start. After enjoying several pedicures, I now regularly get a manicure as well. The entire staff is welcoming and naturally make everyone feel comfortable. I look forward to trying some of the other services provided by Rumors.
