I was a Rumors client for about 9 years, almost 7 with the same stylist.

A year ago - August - I decided to change my hair and had the best cut ever with my usual stylist and felt GREAT!!

In Nov I needed to have it trimmed before my regular appt due to a last minute party. My usual cutter was away or not available, so I chanced a visit with another cutter.

This stylist changed the cut and gave me a round helmet - and I am a grandma but I don't try to look one, which is what happened. Awful. I ditched the party because it looked terrible.

I sent an email to the manager saying 'tell your people to not change the hairdo if someone comes for just a trim', etc. I wasn't mean, didn't name the cutter, didn't demand anything.

In Feb I went back my usual stylist and the cut was not great but I figured my hair had to grow out more to re-achieve the GREAT look from August. Ok.

In May I had a HUGE event. Went back to usual cutter - my hair was sufficiently grown out to get back the great style, and I brought pics of my head with that great style.

When I was done the top of my hair looked like a mushroom, the sides were flat, and the bottom was rounded up like a bowl. I looked ridiculous, but I'd had bad blowouts before so I figured I would go home and fix it - you know how that is.

There was no fixing it. My hair was short and flat and seemed to be thinner than ever. I couldn't make it do anything. My event a few days later was ruined. I wore a headband and sunglasses and hid, and I looked so ugly.

Over the months I fried my hair trying to style it, spent literally hundreds of dollars on products. To no avail. I hated to admit that I couldn't go back to Rumors.

But, I finally made an appt at another salon, August again, last week. A whole year had passed since my great cut. 9 months of nothing but bad hair days.

Well, new salon/new stylist is cutting and says "Why do you have such short layers in here? Why are there 1-and-a-half-inch layers on your head"?

Which explained perfectly why my hair was short and flat and wouldn't do anything but lay there, dead; and then grew out in the worst mess I've ever seen. Even now it's going to be another few months before it grows out enough to actually fix it.

No, I have not contacted Rumors. What am I going to say? Can I prove it?

I am still hoping that this was some horrible accident or misunderstanding
