Food was good, place was nice...but silverware was not fully clean, & also it took longer for someone to actually come and clean a spill we made. Welp, it was....eh.
Average tasting food, expensive food and drink, DIRTY floor and tables.
Best Gator Gumbo in Southeast.. Great customer service & drinks..
good smoked wings, great bbq sandwich. Fun place to go to listen to music.
Good food and service. Live band is great and fun, but is very loud
Gotta be the best on the street. Great music, awesome decor, well made drinks at A good price!
Pulled pork shoulder is awesome. Loved the entertainment. Vince Johnson and The Plantation All-star s
On Beal street music nightly however I don't like the fact they add cover charge to your tap when band starts.
Great staff, friendly and welcoming - excellent food too. Recommend the BBQ Sandwich and the Rack of Ribs - simply delicious!
Atmosphere A+...music (Pam & Terry follow by Preston Shannon's band) A+++ just outstanding. Now for our service... F....the worst I have ever experienced. 2 waitresses covering at least 20 tables??? Are you kidding me? My wife and I ordered drinks and they came promptly. Our glasses were empty for about 10 minutes when our waitress came and we ordered another round. 30 minutes later she came back to asked if we needed anything.....I say yes, those drinks that we ordered a half hour ago. After those came she completely disappeared for at least 40 minutes. This left 1 poor waitress on the floor by herself for all this time. Many customers left angrily and several were complaining to the manager about the service. I feel like several people left without paying their tab and no one noticed. At first I was wanting to blame the waitress but the more I think about it I would blame the manager or cheap owner for only having half the number of employees as needed. Shame on you both!!! I believe when our waitress disappeared she was in the restroom having a meltdown from the insane number of tables she was trying to cover. I can see an episode of "bar rescue" in your future. I don't know how much longer the high quality of entertainment will continue to play here with such disfunctional management.
Always a great time here! Come at night for some great music. The food is good. Mixed drinks are good. Service is great. A definite must on Beale St.
Great band tonight. Sat upstairs and played a game of pool between sets.
Paid $11.95 for four small wings that were over cooked. No thanks.
food with real quality ingredients. quick, helpful, and friendly service. the place has a good feel to it. food is similar to a cafe in indianapolis i liked.
Food was good. Prices reasonable. The 2 bands were outstanding. Service was horrible. Set they're being ignored for 35 minutes. Took 35 minutes for an order of French fries. Took 30 minutes to get a check and then it was wrong.
The live music is always great every time I've been.
Great music, good people. Servers were cool. Had the red beans and rice with fried okra and friend green tomatoes. The red beans and rice with sausage was excellent, well worth the $14.00. the fried okra was bland to me, had better in Nashville. The fried green tomatoes we're perfect though. All in all I would come back every time I'm in memMemp.
Great place to hangout and have a wonderful meal and drink. Great entertainment.
The nest place in Memphis for great blues music. Great drinks and food. Very good service.
A genuine love of music exudes through the fabric of this place. Guitars hang from the ceiling. Band memorabilia fills the walls. They had a funky cover band playing when we were there with a full horns section. If you're in Beale Street, go!
Great service and the band was awesome. I highly recommend this cafe for your entertainment needs while visiting Memphis
Used to be a great place to eat, but the prices have gone up, and the quality of the food has dropped. $9.00 for a cup of red beans and rice, are you kidding me.
Rum Boogie is an awesome place to go. The food is good and the music is great. HOWEVER, my last visit saw me taking my wife and daughter out for my daughters birthday. We went early afternoon and ordered a good lunch. Since that day my daughter has been sick and that night didn't see my wife and I feeling great either. We found out that a waitress there was bragging that she, "may or may not have messed with our food." My wife called the manager today and it did not seem like our concern was taken legitimately. That being said, I have no confidence now that my food will be handled properly at Rum Boogie and if this is the type of staff employed there how many other times has this happened or lax SQF (safe quality food) practices are in play at Rum Boogie. Sadly, I will not be back due to this experience and i really like liked the place. But confidence that my family and I are safe with something as commonplace as our food has been destroyed by the malicious act of a criminal. I realize I am one customer and it probably won't make a dent in business but hopefully others will be vigilant in examining their food before they consume it.
Very friendly county environment. The BBQ is pretty good. Unlike any BBQ I've had back home (California). The people are great, right in the center and good entertainment!
Great Staff! Drinks were Perfect, Food was Excellent. And the Live Music was Amazing.
Highly recomended
Less than good service , okay food but great music and in the end that is what is what people go for
Had the Bourbon beale street burger which was very nice.
Friendly staff, good food, great music and ambience.
Food was ok. They messed up our order and had to send it back. Ordered an appetizer because the guy at the door said that there was 1/2 off appetizers but when got the bill got charged full price when asked was told they do not do that.....appetizers were waayy overpriced for what you got.
If you love rum this is the place to go in Memphis.
The music is 5 starts, amazing, loved it! The night we went, Watermelon Slim playing, he stopped for maybe 5 min total. It's also a piece of history: seeing the signed posters and guitars of bands who have played there. Wow. The beer list and prices are just okay, but you're really going for the music.
I the peach cobbler was horrible there was no peaches just a bowl of crust. The sweet tea was ok the band was great.
Came here from Fort Worth TX to visit family and was pleased to have a great time here tonight. I tell you the band was amazing. As long as they are serving up this Eric Hughes Band I'll keep coming in to hear them. Thanks to the band and Amanda for the great time.
Went here about 10 years ago, came back on a road trip. Cool little place, unique. Definitely worth a stop to get a cold one at the least.
Incredible live music and wears it's agree and legacy well.
AWESOME BAND..... Today july 7 2019 the band was LIT....!!!!!!!!,.....DRINKS STRONG .....WE LOVE IT
The food was not good while expensive and the music was engaging, but sub-Beale street. If this place has the shortest line to get in, it s for a reason.
My daughter order spicy chicken wings and there were so fresh most still had the feathers. Nachos beef was so thin like sliced lamb. The positive is the barrendrr was great at her job.
Poor service, appetizers came out at different times! Husband had finished his gumbo (which was nice) & I was still waiting for my fried green tomatoes. Waitress looks like she can't be bothered, had to ask for cutlery when the meal ! After just getting the appetizer the main meal turned up - very poor
Very authentic Memphis bar. All the ole time blues singer and musicians were there gathering. Drinks were top notch.
Drove through Memphis and stopped here for lunch, as much because of the greeter outside who tried to convince people to enter as because it's on Beale Street. Service was sporadic and slow, even for our table of two. Food was fine - the pulled pork sandwich was tasty and the fish and chips were ok. Atmosphere was fine and it was cool to experience the history of the place, but it needs a thorough cleaning. Great guitar collection hanging from the ceiling.
This place brings in amazing talent...great jam sessions. Its very small and you get up close and personal with the talent! Go to their website to listen to jam sessions. A must do - if on Beale St. Don't pass it up - even if there is a cover charge - you will NOT regret it.
Good food. Usually they have live music in the evenings.
We enjoyed the live music and atmosphere. The guitars on display were neat. However, the food was just okay and the service was not very good.
This place is always fun with great food and service. Try the red beans and rice!
HAD THE BEST TIME HERE. An absolute blast. GREAT FOOD. Great live music. Great service. Ribs were fall off the bone and slap-your-momma flavorful.
Great first meal
Popped in for dinner on route to a grizzlies game after just getting off the plane, our waitresses was really friendly and the food was great! Try the catfish it rocks, the grizz won too!
Stupid doorman carded us. I'm 51 and my partner is 57. Come on man. So she said she's going to have to go to the car to get her ID. Doorman tells me "you go walk with her". I'm like mind your damn business doorman who can't tell 50 year olds from 20 year olds. Of course I will walk with her but I don't need you to tell me to do it. I know how to take care of her and have for years thank you very much blind doorman.
Music and food were both fantastic once in but really? Make us walk back to the car to get ID? Come. On. Man.
It was terrible when it comes to ribs. They were burned and dried out. The waitress was rude. I wouldn't recommend it to nobody.
Went to Rum Boogie before a Grizzlies game on Friday around 5pm. There were patrons in the bar area, but in the seating area, there was only one other table of people. We ordered drinks and then dinner. The waitress brought the drinks, took our order and then disappeared. We ordered burgers, gumbo, and red beans and rice. After approximately 25 min, I got up to look for the waitress. I had to ask the doorman to find her. He came back and said our food was coming right out. When the food arrived, the burgers and french fries were barely warm, and the gumbo looked like it had been sitting for some time (top layer started hardening). When I told the waitress and asked for new fries, she tried to take my entire plate. Fearing it would take too long, I asked that she just bring me new fries. She brought a plate over and asked me to put the fries on the plate. I refused, not sure if she was going to just reheat them. She finally brought fresh fries, and disappeared again. When we were ready for the bill, again I had to ask someone to find our waitress and tell her we wanted the check. A different waitress brought the bill and said our waitress was busy, although we hadn't see her anywhere in the restaurant.
The next day, I looked at the credit card receipt and noticed it was higher than the itemized bill. BEWARE: They charge 3.9% for using a credit card. This was written at the bottom of the receipt, but is hard to see in a dimly lit place. I find this ridiculous with the amount of money they take in and the fact that the food/beverages are not cheap.
On an upbeat note, the band, Pam & Terry, were very good. They were a bright spot in an otherwise dismal experience and the only reason I gave them 2 stars vs 1.
The best wet ribs on the planet. The house band is terrific. We have come back year after year. I cannot say enough good things about this place.
Cool place , music almost all of the time and the worlds largest autographed guitar collection !!! Fun !!
