I have been coming here off and on since 1990s. As of March 2019 the food is still great. Specifically the blue plate lunch menu. Friendly staff tops everything off. Russell helped make it a great visit once again.

Went there before Griz / Clippers came. We are really wanting ribs but Rendezvous and Blues City were on long waits, so we ended up here. Ribs were good, but tasted consistent with typical backyard BBQ. Cheese plate was good, but no where near any other BBQ/Rib place in Memphis. Cheese was probably out of the bag and not cut and sausage was about the size of a quarter and thin. Service was good and bartender poured good drinks. I have been here on a couple other occasions, same deal. Food decent.

Decent bar. The cover charge kind of stinks, but if you start to walk you might get a deal. There are three bars and at least two stages so it was worth the cover for us. The band's aren't loud enough to warrant ear plugs. Grab your drinks at the bar furthest from the street corner for the best deal.

I can only comment on the staff and the experience outside, not on the interior. My 69 year old mother and me get carded trying to enter. The doorman tells my 69 year old Mum she can't come into the venue as she doesn't have ID. Saying it's compulsory to have ID in Tennessee. Well I check the laws and this isn't the case at all, it's the same as elsewhere in the USA and you just can't sell minors alcohol.
There is no way she looks like she could be under 40 let alone 21. (Sorry mum)
Bad experience on our first night out on Beale.

I love the music and great soul food. I have lately been there earlier in the day and unfortunately the service is very slow. Otherwise, I would really recommend it as a cozy spot. Outdoors is a great place to lounge with umbrellas to cover

Very authentic cozy home of some incredible music . Breathtaking environment. Close encounters with artists/ band and room for some dancing. Truly enjoyed the live jam with the broad gamut of expertise. Amazing! Huge collection of signed guitars

Rum Boogie is THE place to see fantastic acts on World Famous Beale Street in Memphis, TN!! Guitars hang from the ceiling like leafs on a tree, donated by such acts as Dave Stewart, Albert Collins, Stray Cats, and many, many others! If you go to Beale you MUST stop in at the Rum Boogie to get some great jam on!!

Loved the band (Plantation Allstars) & they deserve 5 stars. The food we had is 1 star.....The nachos - fake runny cheese and some thin ketchup type sauce smothered the few chips to the point of making them a gross pile of mush. Yuck.

Hobky tonk style bar not bluesy. Loud music with shouting lyrics, was fun and great music but not the blues. Had a guest musician sing three great bluesy songs but then back to the super loud music. Pretty fair service waited about 8 minutes before getting drinks. Polite waiter.
