Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel and Towers Reviews

We were "gifted one time access to the executive lounge as a courtesy, in order for us to see all the hotel offers", after asking about which floor it was on and the hours. I'm a platinum guest, which gives me access to the lounge already. We were then promptly reminded of the proper dress code, and referred to the print-out which reiterated it. I was very disappointed with the service here. The rooms were old and smelled like cigarettes. We asked to move rooms due to the smell and were repeatedly asked if we were sure it smelled ,as it was a none smoking room. Best thing is the free ferry to the BTS and the river views.

As our Bangkok visit plan included a dinner on the famous Loy Nava Cruise and 2 hours and 30 minutes of sailing on the Chao Phraya River with three types of menu: traditional, seafood and Thai style vegetarian, traditional Thai music and dance, We chose this hotel as it has its own jetty and being in the commercial area it is very easy to access the famous Chatuchak night market on weekends.
The hotel is part of the Sheraton chain in terms of services and rooms, the Standard is guaranteed, but in terms of maintenance it feels over the years, the furniture looks worn, it could use a renovation, the bedding and towels very clean. The buffet breakfast is not included, abundant and with several places to be served, but since it is very busy, you have to go early to avoid making a waiting list. An important tip is to ask for a room on the upper floors with a view of the Chao Phraya River, during the day the view is spectacular and at night you can see the Wat Arum that has impressive lighting. Bangkok ALWAYS goes, but if you are staying in this hotel on the 27th floor, it is hard to go out because the view of the city and the Chao Phraya is simply breathtaking.

It doesn't get any better. The hotel is in a prime location and well connected by the boat shuttle to Sathorn Pier with access to the Sky Train. There are also public boat facilities on both sides of the hotel and there is a transfer to ICONSIAM every half hour. Many sights can be reached by water (e.g. Wat Pho by boat 30 THB = 0.90 ) and you can even walk to Chinatown. The transfer from the airport is a good hour and has a taxi including 2 tolls 450 THB including tip. I highly recommend visiting the Jim Thompson House (by taxi or sky train), which in my opinion is the greatest attraction in Bangkok (see my rating).

Our double room with twin beds was comfortable and very well equipped. A plus point for me is always the kettle and the water that is provided every day. The bathroom with walk-in shower and bath tub was also spacious and good. There are nice amenities. If you are on the 27th floor, you also have access to the club lounge and that is VERY GREAT. It's just worth it. But you have to have decent shoes, not to mention slippers, let alone flip-flops in the lounge.

The hospitality was fantastic. Check-in in the club lounge sitting with your favorite beverages with a view of the river. The hostess ice took care of us immediately and she looked after us permanently and very caring during our stay. All employees were very polite, friendly and answered my innumerable questions nicely.

The selection and presentation of food and drinks in the club lounge on the 27th floor was very high quality. You can have breakfast very privately in a quiet, beautiful atmosphere with a fantastic view of the river and enjoy cocktails and other drinks and a nice buffet in the afternoon / evening. But you can also have breakfast on the ground floor and the choice of food and drinks is almost unbelievable. I have never seen such a breakfast buffet anywhere else in the world and not only that: EVERYTHING tasted so good that I B. couldn't stop eating a very simple chicken green curry that you wouldn't expect anything else from. So I didn't really care about the privacy and exclusivity of the club lounge breakfast upstairs and I just wanted to have breakfast down here. Because the chefs who work here in the restaurant downstairs are top notch. As a fan of street kitchens, I would not have expected this and was surprised. During my stay, I posted stories on Instagram every morning about breakfast with thanks to the kitchen team. The kitchen there tops every food stall.

The three stars for the dated furniture of the rooms, however, the hotel has an excellent position dedicated to the tranquility that is hardly encountered in city center hotels. The Royal Orchid is located along the river from which you can take the boat to pass on the other side and visit the new Iconsiam shopping center.
There are two well-equipped swimming pools, the only flaw that in mid-afternoon the sun is obscured by the Mandarin that is in front of it.

Fantastic views of the river from our 22nd floor. Breakfast v extensive catering for most tastes. Well placed for exploring by taxi, on foot or by river taxi. Staff pleasent and hard working. A top quality BK hotel.

Located on the banks of the Opalaya River in Bangkok, I liked the saxophone and folklore I heard at the hotel lounge as soon as I arrived. There is a smoking area in front of the hotel lobby and there is a Seven-Eleven convenience store not far away. Next to River City Shopping Mall

The parking boy called taxi never calculate by meterer, I know its thailand rule but hotel should guarantee the taxi fee for customers(much expensive than real fee) ,even residence or guest house have this service, I think 5star sheraton is not that worth. prefer hilton next time.

Old property but still can keep up Sheraton standard. Their food variant is sooooooo yummy! I love their boat service too, its free!

Waterway traffic is very convenient, road traffic can only be taxis, the price is relatively cheap, the river view room is good

Wonderful location. Excellent staff. Favorite thing to do is lounge at lower pool and listen to river traffic. View of Chao Praya avaiable from most rooms .. lovely.. Tower lounge is also excellent. Restaurants are outstanding..

Excellent hotel. With excellent friendly staff. Rooms are very nice and spacious. You get a very nice view of the city or the river.
They have two pools one for laps and another for relaxing. I like the one for relaxing and the garden around it is beautiful.

The location is also ideal to go around the city. Not so far from MBK or koh sum road either.

The whole hotel is very beautiful and the staff is always ready to help you with a big smile. Check out the external pools if you want to have a break from the Bangkok's heat! Also, the room was very clean and mattress and comfy couscins grants you a good night sleep. It is also near to a shopping mall and a public boat pier, in addition to having it's own free boat service.

The location of the hotel is unique, right on the river shuttle boat for free to many districts. All very friendly and hard-working

Loved the shuttle boat. The view in the riverside is nice. Cozy place to chill. Good food. Friendly staff.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. The hotel is not easily accessible without a taxi service or using the hotel ferry. There is not a lot to do around the hotel. There are a couple antique or craft shops. The hotel does have a ferry which drops people off at the BTS terminal. The breakfast service is pleasant. The rooms are nicely outfitted.

The daily brunch is delicious with so much variety. I loved the fruit..especially the dragon fruit . Sushi was fresh ..curries were delicious...great varieties of pork and seafood dishes.

Very good accommodation, facilities and services. Food also superb.

Convenience function is good, there is a good shopping mall next to it. It is not convenient to place toilet paper on the bedside table in the room.

If you can stay at a 5 star hotel at this price, you will be very satisfied.

Hotel with excellent service in a prime location of Bangkok. Located directly on the river, the hotel also offers a complimentary hotel shuttle boat to Iconsiam Shopping Center and Taxim Central Pier. Perfect for a stay in Bangkok.

This hotel had very clean rooms, great location (perfect if you want to take the water taxis/boats to the main temples), amazing restaurant for breakfast (definitely get the buffet and then sit outside on the waterfront to take in the morning sun!!!!), and a fun pool deck with relaxing views. Hotel staff was all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

The lobby is large, full of luxury and openness, and will not let you get tired even if it is long. The impression is not lacking, such as the quality of service and the degree of ancillary facilities. However, the lounge had a small space for serving food for the number of guests, and had to eat food while being crowded with guests. One of the features is that there is a shuttle boat landing behind the hotel, which makes it easy to get to the access point of transportation.

The interior is a little dated, but the location is perfect, everything within reach by boat. Immaculately clean rooms with coffee machines in addition to the usual water heaters. Nice gym, great pool for actual swimming. Very friendly staff. Several nice local restaurants, street food, massage salons and small supermarkets right there, the outskirts of China town just around the corner.

We loved our stay at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel and will definitely be back. The waterfront was constantly entertaining!

28 storey high rise with 2 pools and a gym and Spa. Our 27th storey room was clean, comfortable and fairly quiet (chinese new year celebrations down the road kept going til 11.30pm were a bit of noise unlikely to be repeated after this weekend ). View over the river stunning. Several restaurants to chose from and an internal cafe providing snacks to take away. Breakfast offered large choice. The concierge was great..confirming need to get to Royal Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun by water taxi. My wife was I'll on 2nd night and needed hospital treatment at 2.30am. Concierge sorted taxis etc. Very helpful. Now looking a little dated with no roof bar, for instance, but still worth 5 star rating.

Absolutely lovely venue. Enjoyed the US Marine Corps Ball. Probably 500 or more. Service was professional and timely. Music was good and video presentation was easily viewed from all angles.
