Riverview Tavern Review

Cool and relaxing. Good food. Excellent ace to catch up with friends.

Bar and table staff were pretty good, food was average. Better pub grub available in Townsville.

Good place for a drink with friends if you're over that side of the river.

Was very comfortable & clean. The view from the balcony was amazing. Staff were friendly, they supplied a courtesy coach. Had to check in at the bar, a seperate check in station would be better but other than that, it was a very enjoyable stay & we will return again

Clean, spacious and easy to stay in for a few nights. First time in Townsville and the neighbourhood was lovely. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Comfortable place to stay but mixed feelings upon leaving.

The good: great location, spacious rooms, lovely view, large balcony, good air conditioning, serviced daily, pub goers were not too rowdy over the three nights I stayed

The not-so-good: mattress and pillows were very lumpy, toilet was difficult to flush, wifi access was not unlimited, iron was in bad condition and ruined my silk shirt

And one more odd thing: When I m travelling all I ever want for dinner is a beef burger, but they don t have it on the dinner menu, only lunch. So they lost my business for meals.

Spanish Mackrel was dry, vegetables were raw and cold, mash potato stiff, very unpleasant GF meal for 20+ $

Nice view of the river...nice staff but not a good selection for lunch unless your keen on anything fired in bread crumbs.

The Tavern is located on the river and is a fairly new building. Check in was a little confusing as it is through the sports bar. Once they found our booking we were taken to our room which was basic, but had everything you need. Everything was clean and fresh. The bed was a little soft but was slept well. Main downside is there is no lift so need to carry everything the stairs. We would most likely stay again if just a night, but not really suitable for a family stay. There wasn't any notice we heard from the bar so that was good.

Good place to come for a drink and a nice view. Food orders usually take over 45 mins so not ideal if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. Food is average pub food. Fries are pretty good crispy to munch on, usually come out pretty quick

Have the best grass fed steak
Superb. That is a high rating for me coming from a property

this cowardly bar will take your money for their promotions however if you win will kick you out rather than pay out the rewards

Good feed, good view, cold beer and friendly staff.

A good range of beers on top. A huge deck that looks out over the Ross River. Meals are good value.

So nice to sit outside, even on a hot day enough shade and breeze,, very relaxed for singles and families

Food was decent but service was a little slow. Staff and security were friendly.

Love the food there, really nice service with food that's worth the money. Would go there again, wish they still had teriyaki salmon. Still great place.

Pleasant place to have relaxed lunch or drink overlooking the weir. Good, varied but simple menu that is done well. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Nice views sitting outside on the deck

40 minute wait on food but that's expected for peak time on a Friday night. Entrees came quick and the main meal sizes were huge

Enjoyed our work Christmas party in the private function room. Good size venue, friendly staff, and generous amounts of food provided. Would recommend using this venue again.

Great well-portioned meals at the Tavern. Chicken Parmys are pretty good for the price, and their chicken wing meals (Tuesdays?) are also very good for the price point. Service by the staff were great and they were easy-going with any requests. Modern pub with great views but be warned that it can get quite hot during the day out on the verandah area, so would definitely recommend eating inside during this time. Overall great price point pub with grand views!

Takes forever to do a couple of cappuccinos, not welcoming at all

Has a great view if you can get a seat on the balcony near the river. The place can get pretty packed at peak times but it's a good hang out for a group of friends
