Sorry but the Caesar salad was disgusting. Looked like the leftover lettuce swimming in a clear pool of liquid.

Love the atmosphere here. Great views. And fantastic meal reasonably priced. Good family vibe.

Awesome place to visit and relax overlooking the river.

Food not cheap or anything special, average selection of beers, great location but under utilized

It is a great neighbourhood spot however I don't know if it was because a group of 14 ppl came through after 8pm, we didn't get a friendly reception. The ordering food process seemed abit of a stretch for staff behind the counter. Once given our meal about 10mins later they asked if we needed doggie bags. Like mentioned earlier I am not sure if they felt overwhelmed by the group that came through or that we seemed abit loud but our attempt was genuinely to support our local tavern whilst friends were around from out of town.

Our local go to for Tuesday Trivia. Always a great crowd and atmosphere. The service in the bar is always great and they have a large selection of drinks to pick from. Their food is reasonably priced and nice but their service when ordering is a little lacking - it can be hit or miss when getting a polite verses rude server. The tavern is very good at accomodating large parties of over 20.

Would reccomend Trivia Tuesday to people who like it.

Always pleased when we go here. Food is pretty good. Prices are pretty good. Atmosphere is excellent out on the deck looking over the Ross River. Staff have been good each time we go.

Very different from American bars, but still enjoyable. It's the company that makes the difference. Nice outside deck with tables and chairs to use.

Ordered a jug of lemon lime and bitters soft drink and was charged $18!! Another time was charged $9 like a regular soft drink jug (which is still very overpriced for post mix soft drink), and another time told it would be $14 - which is the price of a jug of beer! Not happy with their inconsistent pricings or the manager who was very rude and insisted $18 was the usual price for a soft drink jug despite the price of a glass only being $1 different between LLB ($4.50) & coke ($3.50), not double the price.

I stayed in one of the Riverview Tavern rooms and had dinner there both nights of my stay. the room was clean and spacious, great value for the price. both of my meals there were also good value. My steak was cooked just right (medium rare), the meals were a good size and were served hot. All of the staff were friendly and all interactions were completed efficiently. thanks Riverview, see you next time.

Lovley views, beers are cold, foods good, BUT...a/c's leak in the public bar, cold drips leaking on you when your with friends can be a little bit anoying.

Meals were hot and a reasonable serve.pleasa t atmosphere. Children welcome and given colours and a book each. Prices are good.great place for a family to visit for a meal.

Great local pub in a great location on the ross river. The Riverview (Riverside) has everything from a function room, indoor and outdoor restaurant along with a sports bar. Suitable for everyone. Have enjoyed many sporting events on the big screen, birthdays and engagements in the function room along with a weeknight dinner and trivia.

Always great food and the atmosphere is excellent! I highly recommend the Riverview Tavern.

Great place to eat over looking river on a beautiful day, meals were very nice & staff friendly.

Nice place.. plenty of parking and friendly staff.. a lack of signage for wheelchair access saw us battle through doorways way to small for access.

Clean modern room and friendly staff. Pub bar and restaurant facilities nearby.

Needs an upgrade which is a shame as it is in a beautiful location

Fantastic view, cold beer and great staff. Stayed the night as it was close to the hospital where I had an appointment. The mattress was well beyond its best-before date. But can't argue with the price and location compared to other hotels in the area.

$23 for this out of the box frozen calamari. Dry, thin, tasteless. My kids got more chips in their $9 kids meals than I got with this order. we waited 45 mins for 5 meals.
Kids burgers were a good size but the kids fish and chips was a joke. 1 piece of fish the size of 2 KFC nuggets and some chips.
It was our first and last visit to this place.
The menu is very basic but has all the usual pub meals. Maybe their other meals provide better value for money but after this pencil thin dry calamari I will never know as places like this only get one chance for my business.

I live in Douglas and it is a great spot for a feed and some afternoon drinks. They provide great live entertainment also.

We had the "400g Crumbed Steak" and it was not good, both steaks were soaked in oil, crumbed steak should be light golden and well drained not dark brown and oil soaked.

Absolutely fantastic food and service provided by this pub great outdoor area to eat at and have tried a few different meals now and can honestly say i have enjoyed every one 10/10

Attended work meeting at the tavern where finger food was supplied. The staff were friendly but the food was average. We were provided with a tray of finger food which consisted of mostly chicken fingers, a portion of chips, money bags and pastry triangles. Too many chicken fingers that were a bit dry and not enough selection of other nibblies. Based on that, not sure I would return for a meal, although some of the plates ordered by other people around us looked ok. Nice surroundings, clean establishment.

I Ordered one thing and got something completely different. When I went to say they made a mistake, they said no you are wrong, you said you wanted that.
Do not recommend.

The new menu is very unexciting and quite boring. The staff are all very welcoming and helpful but that doesn't make up for the disappointing menu.

I was here only for a brief catch up drink, was a little noisey but otherwise good

wings are a spectacle, Beer is cold and self loathing is abundant! Riverview tavern is never a bad time. great views during the day and guaranteed gaming hours at night. Could I find the love of my life here? maybe. Would she gamble a win on black? Hopefully.

Stay here past the hours of 10pm and you are guaranteed to have a stranger come sit with you and make woeful conversation.

don't forget to stop by the smokers even though you don't smoke. You might get some advice from some interesting patrons.

Nice setting for a meal. Drinks are reasonably priced.

Meals were plentiful, but on the slightly expensive side for pub grub. Service was friendly and helpful. Beer and wine choices have improved no end since it was first taken over by this group, but bottled beer choice could improve. I understand the need for the basic beers on tap, but some slightly more upmarket choices in bottles (or on tap) might be nice. Good place to watch the sport, if an event is on.

did not eat so cant comment, but drinks were cheap enough and outlook great. bar staff could do with more training re strength of beers and size of glasses.

Great place, really good atmosphere. Prices are decent too.

So disappointed with the Fathers Day Buffet, the bacon container was full of tough overcooked bacon swimming in water and maple syrup, the poached eggs were rather hard boiled eggs, mangled together in water, the ice cream was like thick milk and the croissants and pastries were dry.

Food was ok. But expensive for what it is. Was served by a very rude woman. Location is nice.

Food was not that good high prices for very average food steak chewy. .frozen veggies. .ran out of mash on the special, pork belly like a soggy sponge. ..never again. .

This place is hit and miss. Some days the food is great other times its a complete disaster. We've learnt to just take it for what it is which is unfortunate because its not cheap by any means. They are trying to be a restaurant when its a pub, just serve good old pub food like in the early days and it will flourish. Its a great location for sundowners though.

Always a great night,large family and go there alot,had over 20 at our table tonight and food was good,was busy , problem was at about 930,everyone was having a good time,2 of the bar staff women were rude and unprofessional and made it quiet obvious they wanted people to leave,real shame cos most of the staff are good,nothing like dampening a night then sour faced barmaid with smart arse mouths,anyway crowd moved to anotherr location where hospitality staff were alot more professional.

-Good beers and food.
-Some staff are a little bit blunt. Definitely don't feel welcomed by all of them.
-Reasonably priced and great view from the deck.

The only place to really enjoy the river scenery. Can't wait to see the menu when renervations are done.

Although today was very busy with a Football Club function, the service was still very quick, friendly and polite. The food was great. We would recommend the Riverview Tavern for lunch.
