Went for Fathers Day Lunch and found the service excellent. We had to wait a little for the meal, it was extremely busy, but worth the wait as the food was excellent. Big shout out to Jasmine in the bar for organising a table at the last minute and the friendly smile.

The worst place to go in Townsville. If you have allergies and specifically tell them about it, they will serve you a plate literally with the allergy food piled on top. They won't replace the food instead will take it off and serve it back to you contaminated. But don't think you can speak to the manager about it, the staff will refuse to let you. But not just their food will kill you, their van will also try run you off the road. If there was a 0 star rating you'd have it.
Great Overnight Stay, perfect location to stay when watching sport at nearby stadium. Clean rooms and easy check in/out at tavern bar.
Not a great dining experience last night. Crunbed fish was so over cooked it was curled up!! Chicken parma was burnt also. I did speak to the manager and received a voucher, and an apology. But one wonders how a chef? with any conscience could send a meals out that clearly were below standard and certainly not worth the price.
Out on the deck is just beautiful. We were there for dinner just as an enormous flock? of flying foxes flew overhead. 1,000s of them! Amazing sight.!

Arrived at two pm on a sunday, no more than Twenty people in the entire outdoor dining area, I ordered the house specialty reef and beef, med rare.
Service was fast as no one else was ordering, my steak was over cooked with way too much sauce which was flavorless, and the salad was was just crap, a small bowl with mixed lettuce, grated carrot a few sprinkles of red onions and only one cherry tomato. all for $35.
Not even going to talk about the rest of the families meals.
And the service was at least second rate.

Been a few times. Got food poisoning once when I ordered the schnitzel but all other times was fine.

We had lunch with friends from out of town. The food was great and a generous serving size, everyone enjoyed their meals. My husband said it was the best steak he has had out in a long time. Our friends commented how lovely and cool it was sitting on the deck overlooking the river, as they had been feeling the humidity, but were very comfortable with the breeze and large fan above.
We will be back.

Great view, beautiful location on Riverside Boulevard. The food is above average for a tavern. They however could use a bigger selection of tap beers.

Went to Riverview Tavern for a work lunch, the Crumbed steak and Chicken Parmy were the size of a dinner plate.
Nice setting, would be nice to have more food option between lunch and dinner on a Sunday.
Ordered steak and its personally a huge portion for me. Nice ambience with river view and greenery. Good for dinner or just hang out for beer with friends watching soccer match.
We went to the Riverview for lunch over the weekend. The lady who took our order was rather rude and abrasive but we looked past it. My partner ordered a beef burger with chips and salad which he enjoyed, but when my 1kg of hot wings was placed in front of me I thought it was a joke - they were white, crusty and mostly bare with a drizzling of what is clearly the Masterfoods Hot Chilli Kebab sauce (really not great on wings). I have posted the photo so others can judge for themselves. They were tough and inedible, and it's shameful that the kitchen thought it was fit to serve to anyone. How a venue in the Lillywhite Hotel Group can't do wings is very poor. Hands down the WORST wings in Townsville.

I like the location but the staff here are really not that friendly or personable. Nice place to have a beer overlooking the river, decent pub-style food too. However don't expect friendly staff.
I am a regular at this venue. It is a very enjoyable establishment however I would give 5 stars if menu prices were reduced.

Watched the Manager and wait staff be extremely rude to patrons who were simply enjoying a laugh together even if it was slightly loud. They were removed from the premises. We left shortly afterwards as we didn't want to also be spoken down to for having a good time.
Location okay, but food was not... lasagna was so dry...no sauce....pasta plates with minced meat...same the chicken schnitzel...Not a place to go for a meal.

Garlic bread great, steak was cooked perfectly as ordered - medium rare . No existant sauce on garlic prawn topper. Very small amount of chips, salad needs BIG improvements....grated mozzarella through it (why?!?!) is awful- didn't eat any of the salad. Views and great customer service fantastic made up for lack in the kitchen- would have given 2x stars otherwise.
Riverview tavern has an idyllic seat overlooking the weir on Ross River, which can be quite spectacular when flowing well. Drink selection and prices are reasonable, and trivia night on Tuesday is always a good time.

Table was dirty. Previous diner's dishes had been cleared but table not wiped. Food took nearly an hour to arrive and wasn't worth the wait. Service not friendly.

Hopeless , waited ages for our meal, it was cold when we got it! How bloody hard can it be! It wasn't even busy... so disappointed prime location, lift your game!

This is a great place to hang out after a big day at work.
The bar staff are friendly and swift to serve drinks. There is plenty of variety in beverages also. But there is nothing like a big cold beer on a sunny arvo after work.
If the afternoon drifts away from you and you get hungry there is a great selection of bistro food. The potato wedges are awesome and go down really well with the beer. Occasionally I ll hit a pizza as well, they are really good too.
There are often little events during the week as well. I used to play trivia here with a few mates but that was a while ago.
It s a really friendly atmosphere and the big deck by the river gives the whole place a really chilled vibe.

good value for money pub food. But a fair few mozzies out on the deck. I know the venue can't do much about it but it did pit a little dampener on the experience.
