The alderman nor any of his constituents for that ...
The alderman nor any of his constituents for that matter can never be bothered to best the genuine concerns from the people that live in the 46th ward.

I've been very happy and impressed by how responsive James Cappleman's office is. He has open office hours every Monday from 5pm - 7pm. No appointment necessary. James is an excellent steward of the 46th Ward. I've even seen him out unclogging street drains himself (by hand) after a heavy rain.
Went in to get help regarding a parking ticket I got because there was no sign indicating I couldn't park there. One girl seemed sympathetic and said she could give me a letter to contest it and that she would call the local precinct to see why the ticket was issued. I called a week later to see when I could get the letter since no one had called me. I spoke to the girl who helped me when I went to the office and she was rude to say the least. She couldn't give me any idea if when the letter would be ready and acted as if I was causing some great inconvenience. After 2 weeks since 1st going in I still haven't gotten a call about picking up the letter and there was no mention of her reaching out to the police about why a ticket would have been issued for the spot. Completely unhelpful and rude service. I don't see how this office is trying to be helpful
Alderman Cappleman is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. He s always responsive and so is his team.
Surprised to see all of the negative reviews. I have never experienced any rudeness or ineptness from James or the staff. They are always open to listening and helping if they can or explaining why if they can t. For example, I received a parking ticket on a street without adequate signage. I called to ask about signage rules. They asked me to bring in the citation and I left with a letter to enclose with my protest. I think James has a done great job of repairing the mess he was left when possible.
Called the office regarding street cleaning and parking clarification on three separate occasions. Each time spoke to someone different but all were unhelpful and rude. Your job is to serve your constituents, why are you acting like you're inconvenienced with a problem the neighborhood is facing? If there is an issue then help solve it - don't hang up on the people you're supposed to represent.
No empathy! Alderman James Cappleman and his all-white staff are situated right below an organization dedicated to helping the homeless, and yet, this alderman and his staff do the absolute bare-minimum and disregard their homeless constituents when their rights are violated.
Ald Cappleman insistence that Sterling Bay development have more affordable housing. This project being more carefully examined is great for the City. We need to stand up against Alderman Brian Hopkins and former Emanuel communications director. Alderman Cappleman will require more transparency.
The alderman nor his constituents are genuine; or concerned about the people who live in the 46th ward.
Lazy, rude, unhelpful, noncommittal, never in office.
He's got a good heart and is dealing with a big messes that other politicians created in this neighborhood.
It is well nigh time for uptown to realize it s potential. It is near the lake, there are beautiful buildings, and it is convenient to everything. If you read the history, uptown was once a pre-eminent area of Chicago. I had wondered how wicker park and bucktown surpassed uptown with far less inherent amenities. Uptown was packed with the people who required lots of city services to create a bankable voting block for an alderman. Cappleman has turned a languishing area into one with real promise. The Wilson station which was a crime trap and unsightly is wonderful. New buildings are going up. It seems to me the people who actually own property in uptown like Cappleman and those who don t have a problem with him. A lake view should not be a feature of cheap, run down buildings.
Uptown is indeed a great area! Although I am sorry to see that Buttercup Park is becoming Homeless Park, 4900 N Sheridan Rd! It s next to Mccutcheon Public School! What a view for our younger kids!
The block where the alderman's office is located is the drug spot of the area.Has been for years.Police just drive but don't see a thing. They only run them off if the heat is on them.Within a week they are back.
Alderman Cappleman is trying to destroy this neighborhood, push out the people who live here, and build a bunch of fancy, overpriced, and totally empty luxury buildings.
