Issues with moving in and such in my two months living here.

First issue, it took a MONTH for them to provide the clickers to the gate for the neighborhood and for the community pool. Excuse? It's a new property for them and they are not familiar with this HOA. That's not my fault as the tenant, it's your responsibility to provide it. It should not take a month and multiple phone calls and drives to your office to get this handled.

Second issue, two months after moving in and I STILL do not have a key for my mailbox, so I am unable to get any of my mail. I have tried several times to get with the USPS and find the box number. I understand this is hard to do, but as the property management company it is YOUR job to provide it, not my job as the tenant. We have made 3 visits to the post office and multiple visits / calls to Rinehart. Still not do have a key.

Third issue, before move in, we told Kenya we do not want the provided washer and dryer as we have our own. Upon moving in, surprise, she didn't listen and I have a washer and dryer already in unit. The dryer doesn't work. I have asked them to fix it since it's broken, and they told me my contract says the applicances are "as-is" and I can replace it at my cost. Multiple attempts to ask them to come pick up their defective dryer have gone unanswered. Next step will be for me to leave it in the front yard with a FREE sign. They obviously do not want it back.

Emails go unreplied to. Voicemails do not produce callbacks. Kenya went on vacation during my move in and had no one covering for her, so I got zero assistance. This has been an AWFUL experience and I regret going with this company.

I worked with Lee Hamilton at Rinehart Realty. Lee was awesome to work with. Thankfully, he was very patient with my special requirements. I also very much enjoyed his personality and sense of humor through the house hunting and buying process.

Do not rent with Rinehart Realty. They dropped the...

Do not rent with Rinehart Realty. They dropped the ball so many times during our one year renting with them. They never fixed things, and when they did, they put a bandaid on things. They over charged for things when we moved out, including chargind us for items that we had listed on our move-in check list. There was a $35 just for cleaning the oven and cabinets. They said it was "just something that's to be expected from all tenants" even though we left the place immaculate. Funny that they charge that, because when we moved in, the oven was filthy and there were mouse droppings all over the kitchen that I cleaned up. If the last tenants had to pay that, who did the cleaning? When I asked the lady about it she said that she didn't work here then, so it was irrelevant. Sorry, but Rinehart WAS there when we signed the lease. Our move-in sheet was there before her, too, which stated that we had a dirty oven. We left it better than when we arrived and still got slapped with a horrible bill at the end of the lease.

The day after we moved in, I called to report the mice problem, and no one called me back or came to fix it. We had to deal with it all on our own. Same with the ant problem. They don't want to do anything for you and then tell you that you owe for all the things that were bad when you moved in.

Also, mid lease they realized that we were not on a well (even though there's a switch labeled WELL in the breaker box) and that we actually had to pay for water from the city. They tried to tell us we back-owed them for the unpaid water, when it was clearly not our fault that this happened, when it was understood in the beginning there was a well. They would not have let us have the keys if they didn't think we had all the water turned on.

Do not rent from them. They are over priced and have terrible service towards tenants.

However, if you're a landlord, you might want to consider going through them, since they know how to rip of tenants.

Until we moved out of our rental property, I would...

Until we moved out of our rental property, I would have given Rinehart Property Management a bit of a higher review; but the problems we've had since moving out have been a nightmare, and from reading the other reviews here, we're not the only ones who have experienced problems getting a deposit back. When we moved into a rental home in Rock Hill, the place was filthy (I had to have the carpets cleaned and remove food remnants from the cupboards, not to mention spray for bugs; the home hadn't been painted, and the 2nd bathroom floor was in such poor condition, it had to be replaced). Every time the weather changed, the air or heat didn't work right, and we had to get them patched up (in my opinion they were never properly repaired because additional service calls had to be made - and there is no after-hours number for service calls, so always pray your heat or air don't go out on the weekend). We lived in the property with one senior dog and no children. Upon moving out at the end of April, we left the home spotless; I even had the carpets professionally cleaned. Imagine our surprise when we got a letter charging us $2,275 in damages! So, in addition to keeping our $1,345 deposit, they want an additional $930 (including trying to charge us to repaint the entire house, despite the fact they could only provide a photo to my husband of one missing light bulb - for which they wanted $115 to replace - a spot in the closet where the dog had apparently rubbed against, and a place in the utility room where the W/D hoses left marks). The house hadn't been painted before we moved in. The rest of the charges are listed in detail on my complaint with the BBB. On June 28, my husband was told the charges would probably be reduced, but that the owners had to be consulted. The following week, the office called my husband to say the owners were on vacation for the 4th of July, but they would contact us the following week. Guess what? Nothing. My husband has since left two messages, both of which have gone unanswered. We have never left a place without receiving our deposit back.

I recently started renting from rinehart , only been in the house for exactly one month and so far things has been horrible. Way before I moved in I told the rental property managers the central air in my home wasn't working they promise to "give me a call " to set up a date to fix it that call still hasn't happen yet . The woman who handles repairs sent me an email on July 27 confirming the work order it's been over 14 days (today is August 14) and nothing has been done no calls has been made to me . The central air is not the only issues I'm having with this home . Don't even let me get started on the ants and bugs that's running all over my furniture and carpet , this morning I woke up to rows and rows of ants in my living room , mind you when I first moved in I was told that if I saw any bugs I should inform them within 72 hours which I did and I have the written papers to prove it , and once again no one has come to spray for bugs .its been one month already and my central air is not working , my toilet has broken the day I moved in I should've taken that as a sign and run for the hills , I have a bug issue , I'm really not looking forward to the next 11 months . I truly believe that rinehart runs on empty promises and fake smiles
I'm officially fed up with this mess if I could give them no stars I would because they truly don't deserve any to be honest .

I have made a pro/con list to simplify my experience with Rinehart for this review.

Cons
*Horrible at returning phone calls and remembering to follow up on your requests.
*The lease we signed stated that we would move in May 16 and they verbally promised that we would move in no later than May 18 and would have plenty of notice if the May 16 date changed. I visited May 15 to confirm the move in and was told we couldn't move in until May 23, despite us already paying for utilities and renters insurance starting May 16. They didn't give us any notice to change the date our utilities and insurance.
*Moved in May 23 to find the constructions guys blasting the AC (that we're paying for) with all the doors open.
*The day we moved in, we noticed the hot water did not work. We go to their office to issue a maintenance request and were initially told to "write it on your move-in checklist". As if they expected us to take cold showers for a week. Then were asked if we ever turned the gas on, despite no one informing us during our move-in process that the water heater is gas.
*Was only given 1 house key and 1 key for the storage unit to share between 3 people.
*When I realized the following week that neither of the two keys worked for the mailbox, they informed me that they lost our mailbox key and we would have to wait 1-2 weeks for them to get another. This is the day after the told me that a different Rinehart employee told me that they would have the mailbox key available that same day.
*May 25, marked that there was a hole in the wall to the outside on my move-in checklist and that it needed maintenance. Never heard word back so I called on June 4 to check. They claim they had no documentation of the request and that they couldn't do anything until they did. Nevermind that this hole is part of the cause of a cockroach infestation.
*Did an online maintenance request for another issue on May 30 and never received notice on when that will be completed, despite checking when calling on June 4. My call was bounced from employee to employee and my question was never answered.
*Was told that they would not do any pest control if the report is made more than 3 days after the move-in date. Conveniently we discovered a roach issue 4 days after we move in.
*Was hardly given so much as an apology, yet alone repayment, for them preventing us from moving in on time, not giving us access to our own mail, and ignoring our maintenance issues.

Pros
*The online rent payment and maintenance request is extremely convenient and seems reliable at sending the requests, though they may choose to ignore them.
*The house was reburished with new flooring throughout and mostly new appliances, though the refrigerator is old and was where the roaches were living when we moved in.
*Did include a cute housewarming package when we moved in that we appreciated.
*Did resolve the missing mailbox key very quickly (within 3 days), despite their initial calloused assessment of 1-2 weeks. Perhaps they were scared we would take legal action?
*Employees do give the vibe of caring for the tenants, so perhaps they're just overworked and undertrained for their roles? I do empathize with their caseload, though their customer service leaves so much to be desired.

Summary
I truly do see hope for my next 11 months with this company and do hope that these issues get resolved. However, I am tired of careless promises and apathetic employees.

Upgraded to three stars due to repair of items I reported.

In the Christmas parade today a very RUDE lady that works for Rhinehart realty asked my daughter and I to get off their trolley. As I saw other people getting on and exiting off, I had no clue that the trolley was actually in the parade. Because my daughter and I were the only BLACKS on the trolley, she singled us out and asked if we were with the driver who was black. I said no we saw other people getting on the bus and thought we could get on and sit as well. She said It s not a bus, it s a trolley. Needless to say, if this is the type of racism your company allows, I can take my business elsewhere. Crazy part is, I m actually purchasing a home in the next month for over $500k and was looking for realtors. Your company is definitely out of the running! Thanks

DO NOT RENT FROM RINEHART!!!! RENTERS BEWARE!!! They are in no hurry to service any problems you have. We went without a fridge for almost a week and spoiled over 200 dollars worth of groceries and they told us to claim them under renters ins. It took begging them to get a new stove. Mind you the one we had before they replaced it only two burners worked. We told them numerous times that two fans didnt work and they smelled like wires burning when they were turned on and they nothing about them. You would be better of renting from an apt complex!!!

I rented two Industrial style apt units from this company. Both were dirty and full of cobwebs when we set it up for short term rentals. We had to repair dryer vents ourselves and pay a company to come in and clean the ceiling fans. The windows leaked every time it rained. The hall ways are horribly dirty and we cleaned those our selves including replacing light bulbs at our own cost. As a short term host it is imperative that we maintain the units very nicely in order to get good reviews and maintain the superhost status that we have. We never allow groups that have parties and installed a noise monitor to insure that. When we did not renew the lease I was shocked when this company, not only kept my but charged me to repaint the units and repair a lose towel bar and to replace a toilet paper holder that was not there when we moved in! I paid my cleaning crew the not only clean the units and the appliances including the fridge but also washed down the baseboards and walls.

I am also a real estate broker who took a client to them for an different house and they never paid me for bringing the client to them.

This company is awful!

My husband and I moved into our rental home on 8/1/19. Upon arrival, the house smelled of dog urine from where the previous tenant s pets had urinated on several of the baseboards and other areas of the wood floors. There were also many other issues with the home including a broken glass door, light fixtures that were unsecured, and only one working shower. The trash bins were left full of construction waste and it STILL has yet to be removed. The shower was filthy and we had to clean up the glass from the broken door after it was replaced. Our oven door also fell apart while we were cooking. We have sent emails, left voicemails, contacted the property manager and maintenance department, sent a certified letter, and filed a BBB complaint, however, two months later we still have a home that smells of dog urine, light fixtures that are not safely secured to the wall, and an oven door that I m afraid will fall apart again during dinner. In addition to being frustrating, these are unsafe conditions that Rinehart has yet to repair. I would definitely not recommend this rental agency to anyone.

By Far the worse Rental company I have ever been with... I'm glad to be rid of the. Be ware of their shady practices. When it comes to move out procedures they state that their job is not to keep your deposit but this is the 2nd time I have been robbed of my Security deposit. I had both apartments professionally cleaned and they still found things that should have been under normal wear and tear. Stay away!!!! I would give them less than stars....

Jamie exceeded every expectation we had after deciding to sell our home. She understood the market, helped us price our home, arranged for a professional photographer to shoot the home to make it as appealing as possible, and even took some of our creative recommendations for the language in the actual listing. Jamie was responsive and always helpful during our many questions. She understands that this is a stressful time and went out of her way to help ease our stress by truly getting to know us.
As a person that does not hesitate to give constructive feedback, I can tell you that I have none to give to Jamie and her team. We were thrilled to be under contract on our home within two weeks. Jamie kept us updated through the entire process and helped ensure that we were able to close on our home from out-of-state. There were no delays or unexpected events which made for the smoothest real estate transaction I have ever done.

In sum, if you want a caring, professional and responsive realtor, look no further. Jamie and her team have my highest endorsement.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Take your money elsewhere.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Take your money elsewhere.

I have had several experiences with this particular location. Once as a CASH buyer and another time acting as a prospective renter.
Very rude people. They are likened to a used car salesman.
If you walk in the door with an open checkbook and don't ask any questions they will "sell you the used car on their lot" at full price.

The lady that started out representing me wanted me to sign a 6 month contract. Good thing I refused. She showed me one home. When I didn't buy it at the price she suggested, she NEVER returned a call of mine.

If you want my money, you gonna have to get off your butt and earn it. It was obvious after a few conversations that she only wants the easy money. The ones that walk in the door with the open checkbook.

Take your money elsewhere. In fact, the home buyers need to find a way to eliminate these blood suckers.

Just spoke with Angela regarding property management. Proposed a fee of $500 between each new tenant. When questioned then that fee went down to $200 and negotiable. Fee was said to go into marketing etc. It's hard to respect any of this before entering into a contract. THIS IS A HUGE RED FLAG! I could never trust any practice like this and would not recommend it to anyone else. BUYER BEWARE..

They cheated me out of my deposit saying they could have shown the property while we lived there and put stuff on the walkthru like a doggy door that was there when we moved in. We trusted them and they cheated us. Go ahead and tell me what my nephews did to the home and try to embarrass us, but it's true that they took our deposit and said we didn't give notice when it's clearly noted that we did. They just wanted to show the home. You didn't do the right thing. Shameful No, the damage did not exceed $2550. They are keeping over 1000 dollars from me for not giving proper notice and it's not true. I have the emails with the notice. Even the owners knew when we were moving.

Lived in one of their rental properties for 5 years. Paid $1200 total deposit for security and pet. Upon moving out of the property about 1 month ago, we were told it would take 30 days to get deposit back. Well, when we moved, I had the place professionally cleaned for $245 and $110 for carpets to be cleaned. Well, rinehart went in and nick picked every little item and actually charged us astronomical amounts for little tiny things. I went to the office where I was called a liar, they would not believe me when I told them no one had ever smoked in our unit!! Again, called a liar. Needless to say, dod not get one penny of deposit back and they had the nerve to charge $179 over deposit amount!! It will be a cold day in hell when they get that money from me! If I could give a negative grade, I would. Very rude, unprofessional people that talk down to you! Would never recommend these terrible people!!

As someone who has been living in a Rinehart prope...

As someone who has been living in a Rinehart property for my second year currently, I can assure that nobody in this establishment cares about you/your time. This week, Rinehart sent a group of contractors to our house to work in the basement on something (I don t even have a clue what they re working on) and instead of informing us the day before, Rinehart taped a letter to our door AFTER these people had already left, telling us to be ready for the contractors who ALREADY SHOWED UP.

The cherry on the top of the sundae is the fact that this happened yesterday, and yet again Rinehart sent contracts here to work in the basement without telling us. I love waking up early in the morning because I can t sleep through the blaring construction noises coming from my basement.

Thanks Rinehart, for being the absolute worst. :)

UPDATE:
Apparently what these contractors were fixing was a hole in the bottom of our house s infrastructure which was patched up with a board of wood and cinder blocks. During this past week, we had a tornado warning, along with FEET of rain. Currently there is 4-5 feet of water in our basement and our heat is not working (our heat was just fixed recently after not working for most of January).

All thanks to the contractors that Rinehart sends out to their properties.

Had an amazing buying experience with Chris Beard. He was more than knowledgeable, he was fun and energetic. He truly listened to our wants and needs. A genuine professional that navigated us through the entire process flawlessly. Always on time, very thorough. With confidance I can say that he raises the bar for other realtors. He wasn't out to make a buck and try to talk us into buying just any house, he found the "one" that fit our criteria and sold us a home.

Rinehart tries their best. However a property management company shouldn t try it should do and promptly so. How these guys aren t outta business amazes me. I have spent 17~19 days without heat in the month of January alone. I m sure if I called a city inspector they would condemn this house that has 4 feet of standing water in the basement.

I feel deeply for the customer service employees at Rinehart as they take the brunt of customer negativity when the fault most likely lies elsewhere.

Only rent from Rinehart if you have exhausted all further options.

Incredibly unaccomodating, never listened to voicemails requesting a meeting then explained that the reason it was taking so long is that we didn't set up an appointment. Be prepared to use yoir PTO if you're trying to sign a leasing agreement with them, there is no sense of urgency at this office. There's also a policy that allows someone to "challenge" your lease if they want to move into the same property sooner. This is regardless of whether you've put down the security deposit or not. No one ever seems to have the answers to your questions, and honestly Rinehart is lucky to still have our business.

There application says you can use bank statements as proof of income, the people say otherwise. They say they will call back during application process and then they don t. Ended up going with Muse Realty and they were so respsonsive and accepted bank account statements for income as we are self employed. I would hate to see how this company responds to work orders.

Wendy Rollings was the absolute best !! The sale of our house would have never gone through without her. Our bank was such a pain but Wendy stayed on top of everything all the way through closing. She was always available, 1000% professional. She was awesome. Will call Wendy when it's time to sell!!

My realtor was available to us when we needed her and made follow-up calls upon our requests. She knew York County very well and was able to provide a wonderful service. The next time I need an apartment I know I will use Rinehart because of how much they helped me find my most recent apartment

Linda, you are by far the best agent we've had the chance to do work with and would recommend you to anyone looking to start in on their house hunting. Beyond that, you are just an awesome person. We always looked forward to any chance to work with you. You were always pleasant and right on top of things.

If you have to rent from Rinehart be smart and take good pictures of the inside & the outside of the property.
I leased from Rinehart for several of years (8+ years) and I can say that I kept up with the home as much as possible. The owner of the home complemented us for the upgrades we did to the property and for taking good care of the home. However, Rinehart's repairs were either poor, unprofessional or not done at all. Rinehart is keeping all of my security deposit ($1,600) for repairs, trash removal and for a missing cover light in the kitchen that was never installed .
Since I lived at the home for several years, I might owe them some $ but for them to keep my security deposit and still claim that I owe them more money, they are wrong for that !!
