My wife and I wanted a nice quiet romantic weekend...

My wife and I wanted a nice quiet romantic weekend; this defiantly was NOT the right place.

First I ll start with the good: Amazing views (depending on the room, we had to move).

The Bad.
When booking, I told the booking agent My wife and I want a quiet weekend, I have some work to do, I m looking for a nice room with a beautiful view. My wife would like a nice spa day well I m working .

She recommended a premium room with a balcony; I said great and booked it. The balcony was right above the terrace and Maple fest was on so the terrace was full loud people drinking and partying (which is fine but when you say you want quiet and nice views why would they give me this? Price wasn t an issue so I really can t understand this).

Second room (after having to pay for the 'upgrade')
- Alright so my first room I complained about the noise and garbage view, I m not sure if it was the clerk's sense of humor but she then moved me to a room beside a screaming baby. Every hour, all night long and this place has PAPER THIN WALLS. When complaining again I was given a blank look and told it s a baby, they cry. (Really maybe try moving us, or don t put a young couple wanting a quiet weekend next to a room with tiny children!) I walked away in anger.
- Overall the room was very basic, nice bed and bedding but everything else is basically holiday inn finishing. We didn t even get stir sticks for our coffee or soap and shampoo in the washroom (granted we did for the second day).
- The Washroom - first off I always wonder why when I m paying almost $400/night for a room and the bathroom doesn t even have the fixing of home, the tub was tinny smaller than even a standard size tub, the shower head was for short people, I actually had to squat to wash my hair (I m 6 4 ) the shower head was about chin height. Didn t even have a bath robe, might be minor but again they advertise this as luxury hotel.
- The room's were cold, I turned the thermostat to the highest setting at 25 degrees but the room never got that warm, we were on the top floor and I'm not sure if there were people below us but the floors were freezing the whole time.

The Spa
Well my wife didn t get her Spa day, when completing the booking I asked if I could book my wife a Mani/Pedi at 2pm on Saturday, my response was that shouldnt be a problem so I assumed it was booked. However it wasn t! Saturday afternoon we went in and they were already fully booked and the only time she could get in was at 9:15pm.

To top it all off, they didn't even have enough parking for all guests and we had to leave our band new car parked out on the street. We were told 'this happens a lot on weekends'.

Conclusion, RUN, don t ruin your trip by staying here like we did. All you get is a nice view and a sub standard room and service. If you are looking for a luxury resort go to the Fairmont, prices are about par but you get the finer luxuries you should get in luxury hotel. This was by far the worst hotel experience I ve had in a long time. I wont be returning and I will be sure to tell everyone not to stay at this hotel.
