The rooms were very clean and the service was great all around. The prices for everything seemed reasonable as well. They also have a little bit of everything like a night club, restaurants, pool, Starbucks.

Main issues:

Main issues:

The "resort fee" is expensive and remains hidden until checkout (deceptive, no accounting details given, -2 stars for intentionally deceptive business practices somewhat ruining what should have been a good weekend).

Hotel staff did not know the difference between lotion and hair conditioner (multiple occasions, was given lotion continuously instead of conditioner, each attempt got more of the same problem, -1 star).

Parking is tough, no vertical garages so must walk far and drive around a bit until a free spot is open. No stars off for this one since I don't know if this is even a building code issue or design issue and not within the power of the hotel to fix.

Conclusion:
Fun place to hold events at, but I wouldn't want to live (or stay) there. Good places to go to within the hotel, but staying there is a poor experience.

Fun fact: the soap claims it was "designed in America" and then later below says "made in PRC". For those of you who don't enjoy Chinese made products, PRC stands for "People's Republic of China". Effectively the soap is just made in China, trying to masquerade as an American soap.

Awesome. Just everything about the GSR is superb. Been staying there for a convention for the past 3 years and couldn't be happier with them. Have had an issue with a reservation in the past, but they took care of it quickly and professionally.

I've been staying here for a couple days every year since 2015. I look forward to it every single time. Excellent accommodations, delicious food in the restaurants, lots of things to do for all ages and all tastes. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful stay!! Lots to do, and you can take your food and drinks wherever you like! The only problem I have is the smell of smoke throughout the lobby/casino. But that was the only place with the smell so even if you hate the smoke smell, its not anywhere you would be spending much time anyways. Super super family friendly! I recommend it!

Ive been all over the casino world. I have never waited for a drink as long as I did. I was even tipping $5. Now i know why they made las vegas. Reno is the minor league. You get what you pay for.

Great stay at the Grand Sierra Resort. Hotel was clean, and nice, and the staff could not have been better. I will be coming back here whenever I am in the area. Best hotel in the area if you do not need to be up on the mountain and skiing out your door. Thank you GSR!

I really enjoy staying here. The rooms and casino are always clean and I've found some reasonable prices. I've found their staff to be very friendly. My only drawback is that I've had issues with getting the room I booked both times I stayed here. It wasn't resolved, but they gave me a few bucks off the much smaller room I was placed in. I'm unclear whether it was on their end or the site I purchased through, but i felt like they weren't willing to address the issue. Oh well, still a nice place.

Fun place to go to get away and have adult fun. Or even if you go on a family trip there is tons of things to do for the family and kids. Definitely would recommend going here. The rooms are very nice and clean as well.

The shower was terrible. I love a lot of water pressure, but there was so much that it sprayed out of the shower and all over the floor. We used all of the towels in the room to keep from flooding the bathroom. There also was no place in the bathroom to hang towels. There was a hand towel rack, but of you put your shower towel on it it was on the floor. Also the AC was saying it was 65, but I was sweating all night. The gambling was also absolutely terrible! The worst casino (in my opinion) in Reno by far.

The GSR is typically where I stay when I'm in town. The rooms are nice, the casino floor is good, food is good too. Occasionally checking in and checking out can be rough. Alot of people stay here so it's just crowded sometimes. Players club is also great. I usually end up with comped rooms Sunday-Thursday. Definitely worth looking into.

Parking was great, the grand cafe made so many order errors it was like a comedy skit. Ended up sending out a super raw burger when we ordered well done, this was after the first order error for the same item.

This used to be one of our favorite hotels, however, it is starting to go downhill fast. The customer service is still really good and that is important but the rooms and hallways near the rooms is getter no rough. The rooms used to be very clean and very well taken care of but now we find ourselves being put in rooms that have dirty carpets, dirty walls and they don t even pay attention to details when they clean the rooms anymore. The room service menu is getting worse and now they have taken out the microwaves.

This property offers so much but they need to take some of that money and put it back into the rooms and bring the cleanliness levels back up to where it used to be when they first opened.

If they don t make changes we might have to go back to the Peppermill.

I got a price on this place. Perhaps it was a slow couple of days. In any event, it did live up to its star rating. I spent several luxurious hours getting a massage and facial, hanging out in the whirlpool and the sauna, then the lounge with the complementary snacks and glass of wine. Well worth the price.

The room was luxurious, as you would expect from the rating. I was impressed by the backlit towel racks under the sink, and the view was, well, not spectacular, but interesting in an urban lights kind of way. The parking staff were friendly and efficient, and the checkout process was relatively painless.

My wife and I stayed at the RV park to test out our new travel trailer before taking it on a long trip out of town. The lot was full of mostly full-time and really shady residents. We couldn't stay in the spot we had reserved because some of the residents were using it to rebuild 2 different trucks. We were almost attacked by another resident's dog, but fortunately it was tied up to the back of the truck that it jumped out of and it couldn't reach us.
The girl running the office for the RV park quit just as we pulled in, also, and there was a large scene made by her boyfriend towards the security guard escorting her off the property.
All the restaurants are way over-priced and the food isn't very good.
They do have one of the best gaming floors in Reno and have a nice non-smoking gaming section as well.

Really disappointed in my current stay here. Went to use a towel to dry my hands, pulled the first one out and it was really dirty, pulled a second one out and it was dirty too. I was really grossed out, to say the least. I called the front desk, they seemed unconcerned, not apologetic although did offer to bring new towels up, which took 35 minutes. The next day I reported it to management and he wasn t overly concerned either but did insult me by offering to refund me a $1.00 per for the housekeeper fee. I usually stay at the Peppermill, and that s will I ll be from now on, I won t stay at the GSR again.

Had the pleasure of visiting Grand Sierra this past Super Bowl weekend. We checked in 1/31- 2/4 and had a blast. Attended their Super Bowl party which was very nice. Great food and drinks. Everyone was well behaved and had a good time. Hotel was busy but never seemed over crowded. Stayed on Summit floors 2638. Rooms are very nice. Disappointed they took out the microwaves in all rooms but still a very nice room. If you are looking for a great place to relax the GSR is somewhere you will enjoy. Bowling, movies, pool and casino. You never have to leave the resort. Plus it is close to airport and has free shuttle.

The resort has everything you could ever think of. Plenty of food choices, plenty of entertainment, the casino has all sorts of different table games and slots. The service I receive is always top notch. I have never had a bad experience here. The staff is always going out of their way to help and be friendly. I would recommend this resort to anyone and everyone!

Nice place to stay. Plenty of activity for children. Shuttle board little golf kids activity play room with bouncy house. Movie theater with two movies playing. Movies pretty current sell popcorn and drinks. Nice variety of eating places. Buffet, Mexican food, hamburgers, Delhi, Pizza and a deli. Dancing area with DJ sometimes live music. Close to Sparks Reno convention Arena where my grandson's were doing a wrestling tournament. Grand Sierra Resort has a large swimming pool with security. Often closed down due to high winds.

We were visiting for a concert and we didn't stay here, but it seemed like a pretty nice place. Especially compared to the other Casinos in the area. It was well lit and open inside and it had a much more upbeat vibe than the older casinos.

The concert venue was pretty nice as well and the arrangement of the seating allowed you to see the stage really well. I'd go here again.

Almost every machine in this building is misleading, be prepared to lose 8 dollars from one spin because nothing tells you what credits it's using. Nearly 400 spins later never won anything. Never spending my money here again.

New Years was fun. It was less than 20 degrees outside with heavy wind, so walking about reno was a no go. We still had fun inside the resort. Being massive as it is, we didnt run out of things to do in the two days we were there. Definitely a great experience and one of the best hotels in reno if you can snag it at their cheaper rates.

Love the fact that there is a Starbucks conveniently located inside the GSR. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful helping us with whatever we needed in a very timely manner. And loved the variety of shops and restaurants to choose from. Will definitely be keeping this one as a top favorite in Reno by far.

This is a beautiful facility. The casino is very nice and modern. The room we stayed in was awesome. They have so many entertainment options to choose from as well. Several restaurants, the casino, shopping, a bowling alley. If we get back to Reno, we would definitely stay again.

The check in line was very long, and took a while to get through. Also, I wish the parking lots were more clearly marked. We drove through the first couple of lots only to find they were reserved for premium player's card holders.

We got a remodeled room...nice. clean safe comfy. Lots of restaurants. Cafe and cantina were really good. Wish I had time for the lake driving range with floating target greens. I would give a 5, but I'm just tired of $30 per night resort fees. Just be up front with the price. Trickery just makes people angry.

Renovated rooms were nice. Walls a bit thin and the room was not immaculant but tidy. Some joker took my dnd sign and a manager put a new one on my door without hesitation. The buffet was good, not great howver the buffet staff was amazing, very attentive. The kids zone down stairs was spendy and the staff not attentive at all. We paid for the climbing structure which requires a wristband. Disappointing to see children utilizing the structure when their parents didn't pay, no wrist bands. Staff from different shops hanging out at the front chit chatting with the crew up front. Fat Tuesday is new and really resonable in price. Staff was high energy and willing to provide samples as well as suggestions. Overall a nice clean hotel withva few bumps. Would definitely stay again.

Rooms were nice. Went to the middle horshoe bar and ordered 4 beers over about an hour or two of all the same beer and all the same size glass and got charged four different prices. First $6 and $6 dollars again, then on the third beer I was charged $6.50 then on the fourth and final beer I was charged $5.50. I asked the bartender why I was charged $6 and $6.50 and then $5.50 and she told me she had no idea because the beer I ordered was $5.50 a glass which was kinda funny being that she sold me my first glass for $6.... I tried to get ahold of the beverage manager but got tired of waiting and left.. The casino better send in their own shoppers to catch the thieving bartenders. .50 cents here $1.00 or $1.50 there can add up fast.. I do want to mention that there were three bartenders working and I got overcharged to line their pockets by two of the bartenders so I'm sure they were scamming together.. I will not return to this casino again..
