Had a pretty fun night overall. The GSR is clean, well decorated, doesn't smell completely like smoke and the servers on the floor seemed to pay attention to everyone. We'll definitely go back when we are in Reno.

We went to the Grand Sierra to go and see a movie in there Cinema that's downstairs. It's a great little Cinema it's only $4 and they usually have movies that have left the theater but haven't come out on DVD yet. They have the best popcorn in town. They also have a cool little coin shop downstairs for collectors. We then went upstairs and walked around had a drink and gambled a little bit

Hey what a great place! I like to gamble and this place has the best players club in Reno. The only thing I might ever complain about is that the Grand Sierra is very popular it's always full of people. Fun place and the rooms are nice also.

The hotel requires am actual charge of $50 per night on a credit card for "incidentals". This is on top of all the other service fees and resort fees you pay when reserving a room. Most hotels need a card on file for incidentals but don't actually charge it until needed. They say they will refund it back if not needed, but could take up to 5 business days after check out for that to happen. The rooms are old and in need of an update. My phone charger kept falling out of the socket because the sockets are so old. They don't even have plugs near the beds so they just lay a power strip near the beds for the guests to use. The other complaint I have is that it's amazing how the restaurants will not seat one person. I travel for business and I don't always want to sit at the bar to eat. The Grand Cafe was the only restaurant at the hotel that seated me at a table...all the others pointed to the bar for me to sit at. The RIM actually told me they didn't have any tables yet seated the group right behind me. When I questioned them, they all of a sudden had a table. I will not be returning.

This place is always hopping and pop in and you know it's funny cuz I do remember it when it was to Hilton. I do recommend this place to a lot of tourist if you are from out of town this is a good place to go for as you can see from the size of the building. There is and should always be an available room if you are looking for a room that the energy is lively and just the atmosphere overall is very energetic and it is very inviting and welcoming and the people are upbeat and they are profound to get services. They do really do take care of you and make sure you are doing okay. so overall service depending of course on the activity and what you were doingat this hotel. Now let me clarify the pricing can be a little bit expensive which you know of course if you are going to be staying and it is a upscale more of a higher class and of a hotel you know that is more likely to happen so that is a factor to keep in mind when booking a room at this particular location.

Location is good, rooms were nice. Only problem was the bathroom/smoking situation for the concerts. There are only 2 bathrooms right next to the smoking area so every break in the show it is shoulder to shoulder packed

Grand Sierra it has its good and it has its bad . Good is nice decoration live entertainment and excellent food. The bad, I road my bike to GSR I lock it up at bike rack where I thought it would be secured. went to have dinner then rented a room then I went to check on bike it was gone. I went to security made out a report and to check to see if they had cameras, which they do not I recommend that security install a camera were bikes are locked they know they have a problem about Stolen Bikes so please if you can install a $10 security camera and more lights were the bike rack is. That would be greatly appreciated thank you. Mr.V Martinez

Every time we come they sneak in a new fee and always say its in the website...........Beware you pay a huge price for concierge then they surprise you and want to charge $20 more when you show up to use! The list goes on and on add gratuity for maid services? How about I tip if they do a good job not just because the hotel wants to not pay their employees and push it on us?

Covid worsened what would have been a 5 star experience. I suggest waiting for hysteria to die down. The employees all deserve raises though. I saw a drink woman of color assault and scream at a group of employees that were trying to help her. They had patience like no other

Was very disappointed because we chose this hotel over others because it was supposed to have spacious hot tubs and and adult pool area and sand beach pool area. Sadly it was all under construction and none of it was available. But they did give us a $10/day credit on the $26.500/day resort fee. Also, our room wasn't cleaned one day despite requesting service and upon calling I was told by housekeeping that I wasn't guaranteed to receive service every day. The final day was a bit of chaos as power was lost within the hotel and it was just a mess with elevators and no lights or power to use the room. The hotel only gave a $50 credit was not enough for this inconvenience. The atmosphere was very good, clean public spaces and a good vibe. Had the pools been open I probably would have loved it.

Rooms are nice. Great customer services, I like that are actives for kids. My biggest issue is the cigarette smoke and not enough circulation to relieve that second hand smoke. I know it s casino but that smoke was to much. Especially when your walking in that s all you smell is cigarettes. You have kids and older people coming to visit to. Maybe they should have a section where you can smoke. That s my biggest issue

I like the fact they have a second-run movie theater and a Round Table Pizza in the basement. I also like the different concerts and events they book (probably the best in town).

But the couple times we stayed in the rooms or visited someone, we have been disappointed. Extremely sloppy housekeeping. As if they just added a couple towels and left. So not impressed with the hotel aspect at all. Much better rooms elsewhere. But the rest is nice.

I partook in the buffet and the poker room. Both were excellent experiences. I mean, if you don't count lasting two hours in the tournament to get beat by a three outer...but that's poker for ya. The staff and fellow players were all congenial.
The buffet had same savory selections and a very attentive staff. It was a seafood day and I don't usually get excited over that like my Sweetie does, but I found three different fish dishes that literally had me thinking about them hours later. Sweetie didn't even bother with crab legs she was having so much fun with the fish. I'd tell you about desserts but I don't want to contribute to your delinquency. (ssssshhhhh! Sweet salted caramel in chocolate sauce)

My family ate at a buffet and it was wonderful. It had so many diffrent choices that we did not know where to begin. Also it was next to the gambling floor so as soon as we finished we could gamble. The resort also had a kids arcade so we had something for everyone.

Didn't do anything in the casino, went to the Grand buffet. The food was fantastic and the service provided was great. I loved the variety of food, but wish there was a large seafood selection than just shrimp.

I had my Daughters birthday party at Fun Quest and the host Jackson was completely on point. Anytime the host saw me (whether in the party room or on the floor playing games) asked if there was anything I needed or any way he could help things move smoother. Really made a very hectic/chaotic thing entirely manageable. The only complaint I have would be that several of the games(my fiancee and I went to 3 out of order games in a row) did not work and had no way of telling you other than a flashing red light on the card reader for the game(yes I know "red means bad"). What was really great though was being able to play Laser Tag with all the Kids and Adults of the party, that is what made the party and had everyone talking at the end. Happy Birthday to my Little Love.

I come here about once a year, and every time, I've been totally satisfied with the experience. While it's a bit far from anything else, the range of food options inside the resort is impressive, there's a lot more than just gambling to do here, access to/from the airport is fast, and the rooms are solidly good.

The room was great. Nice size. Bathroom was amazing. Plenty to do to keep kids entertained. Plenty of places to eat. There is shopping also but it's not that great. I didn't get a chance to go to the spa but it looked great also. The movie theater is very cheap but not many movies or showtimes. The only reason I have 4 stars is because in the room the floor had spots that should have been cleaned. Other than that great stay great staff!

From the MGM to Balleys to the Hilton and then on to the GSR, that building, in that location, has always stood out beyond the rest. Over the course of my lifetime, being born and raised in Reno NV, I've seen that place have quite a few makeovers while it effortlessly withstood the test of time. And like a find wine, this casino has successfully gotten better with age. With activities for the family and entertainment for the adults, the GSR renders a perfect contrast, suitable for you, no matter who you are or where you're from.

The room we got was really nice, my kids loved it. But when we walked into the bathroom it smelled like someone just got done smoking in there. I thought the smell would eventually go away but the whole time we stayed, it was there and i finally just bought a scented candle because it smelled so bad. Then my son finds broken glass on the floor where my toddler is playing and i couldnt take it anymore so we left and stayed at the Peppermill.

Definitely below average 'resort.'

Definitely below average 'resort.'
Food is lower than mediocre quality, featuring run-down slot machines.
Overpriced everything, along with 'resort fees' in addition to the price of the room.
The bed was comfy though and staff were nice.
The shopping in the resort had probably the nicest clothing I have ever seen, but all of the wares are priced VERY high.
You are better off staying in town at a Hampton Inn and just going to GSR to gamble for the day.
Will not be returning here ever.

Such a terrible experience!! We booked online and didn't even arrive until near 10 pm and the room we got was outdated and tiny, they told us we could upgrade to a renovated room for 40$ more and we actually wanted a room with a jacuzzi tub sering how the hot tub and pool area closes at 9pm! That's so early! Was very disappointed about that, so they said for another 180 on top of the 80 we had already paid we could get a room with a jacuzzi, well it took the guy 45min to find out if they had one available, said they did but he didn't know if it even had a tub it was just a suit so finally an hour later comes back down and tells us that it is a suit but no jacuzzi tub so at that point im super annoyed and just said forget it I'll stay in the original tiny room and I'm checking out first thing in the morning and never coming back! You have to park a mile away and haul your stuff through a huge parking lot and up stairs to get into the resort. It is terrible. Don't know how they get any good reviews! I will never come back! I'm so disappointed!

First I do not gamble but I love this place. It has everything you need for a fun night out. Bowling, arcades, plenty of great food, wine bar, concert hall, and night club all in one place. Its very hard to beat something like that. Service is always on point and the food never disappoints. I highly recommend this place for a fun nigh out with a SO or family.

Great stay, however, some of the problems with the bathroom fixtures were not addressed even after reporting them twice. Also, had to call housekeeping to come and makeup the room after 4 or 5pm. Was not advised you could have a microwave setup on request.
Food was fine at the buffet and restaurant. Sushi was good, could be better.
Palmer's steakhouse out of this world. The best air dried (29) Wygu steak. And the pairing of the wine complement the dinner. The sherry, 20yrs. The perfect end for such a meal.

First room we had, looked like it had been through hell ( refrigerator had been punched, wall behind entrance door had a hole, bathroom door had been kicked multiple times and bathroom faucet leaked like crazy). This room obviously should have been in maintenance mode. We complained and were moved to another room, which also had a leaking faucet, but not as bad. The amenities are great though and it was fantastic to have our gymnastics event there in the hotel.

The GSR is a very nice hotel and convention space, well suited to large gatherings. The staff was extremely friendly, and the facilities were well kept.

The only reasons for four stars instead of five are small, really. There is an insufficient number of elevators for larger events, even with people helping control the lines, the waits could easily be in excess of ten minutes to get on, and the emergency stairwells are keept locked except in emergency, so you don't have the option to just use the stairs. Also, the facility is a smoking one, so the smell can get very strong in the casino area at times.

Other than those two minor gripes, I'd very highly recommend the GSR for your visit or convention, it's a very nice place. And it worth reiterating how good the staff is. Really top shelf.

Very clean rooms. Decent customer service.

Very clean rooms. Decent customer service.
BUT...
We arrived apparently on the night of a sold-out concert (Chaka Khan) - my husband and I were advised we had a package "in the FedEx office" - keep in mind we did NOT get checked until AFTER 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 27th (it's important to remember this tidbit). So once we arrived in our room, called down to the bell hop desk and requested our bags to be brought up, my husband headed to the FedEx office, while I waited for delivery of our bags.
10 minutes later, hubby returns w/o package. You see the FedEx office closes at 2 p.m. on Saturday, not to reopen until Monday morning.... (Do you recall when we checked in??) Ok... So after our bags arrived, we decided I would walk down to the bell hop desk. I explained the situation. I was advised to go BACK to our room, call them main line and request help.
Ok... (Not sure why still confused by this)
Back to the room. Called main line... In return main switchboard transferred me to (dum dum dum) the bell hop desk!? I was explained "they were very busy currently, BUT, in an hour they could help... But, I needed to call again.
I asked repeatedly IF this package was really ours... Assured EACH time my Husband was The ONLY one with said name in entire hotel/casino. (Because we had time to try and figure out who knew we were staying at exact hotel... We both hadn't told anyone where we were staying ONLY that we were going to Reno).
An hour later I called again. I was told "oh, we dispatched security a while ago to meet you, aren't you down there?" (fed EX office) after i stopped laughing I explained nobody called us. I ran to fed EX office. To find nothing. Waited 5 min. One bell hop associate showed, saud he's been waiting for security for 20 minutes prior - regarding our package. Finally I stopped a different security officer and he was able to ask for further assistance. So after 3 hours we got said package.
AFTER beibg assured it was in fact ours.
Fast forward to opening saud package....
It was 250 VIP PASSES & MEET N GREETS for the sold out concert for that night. Which we had absolutely no tickets or affiliation with.
Called bell hop desk AGAIN... And after 4 calls and trying to give saud package back and them and security assuring us it was in fact our package again, i threatened to give them away... 5 minutes later original associate was at our room to take back.
We received no thank you, no we appreciate you saving our butts. Nothing! But, we dealt with inept service for over 4+ hours.
Hotek otherwise was clean and nice. We might stay again. Would love to at least get a thank you.... Not holding breath.
*pics are of package to prove my story.

When I first arrived to the room I did not see no face towels had to call front desk. also the room need to be vacuumed and needed to do high and low dusting. There is no microwave looks as if it has been removed I'm thinking coronavirus my sister told me you had to request a microwave if you wanted one that was a big problem for me. Also when I was trying to talk to housekeeping no English. Overall I enjoyed the hotel not the room. I rate the room as two Stars only . Now let my tell you I'm a assistant chief for housekeeping need room inspection at least three times a week

I've been there twice now once for a few hours before getting on a plane and the second time with my RV a few weeks ago. The RV park is huge and there's enough spots for at least five or six hundred RVs. The casino is just like every other Casino however they have the bowling alley and other cool stuff there but being from Atlantic City I'm used to that already. Drinks aren't that bad and you could bet on Sports which is cool so I would definitely give it 5 stars. The Peppermill was not as nice as this place that's for sure and I wouldn't trust Circus Circus or the other casinos in the area
