I have to say, I have not been here in about a year and when I checked in, the same guy checked me in from last time and he was super sweet and even remembered my name.. I do have a unique one...lol.. but how amazing was that! Sim is super! I felt like an old friend coming home.
I love that the parking is easy. A lot of hotels make you walk along ways or its complicated to find a parking space - but not here!
I walk in to a beautiful, fun lobby and up to the unique check-in desk area. Nothing is normal here. I love it! You will see from my pictures.
As he checked me in, He always made eye contact and smiled. (My picture of him shows a straight face but it was that sec in between smiles, I caught him off guard) and he was very polite, called me by name and made sure to go over every detail that needed to.
He gave me my hotel key, password for wifi, and navigated me to my room. As I started to walk in the lobby another employee, come to find out, its Assistant General Manager Graham, invited me to their Friday night soiree in the bar/restaurant area. An artist named Billy Buchanan was playing fabulous music on his guitar for everyone to enjoy, everything from My Girl to Purple Rain. The hotel had a special local drink and cauliflower dish to try. It was nice. It was an upbeat night and very social. A great idea for hotel guest to mingle.
As I walked into my room, I was pleasantly surprised. A very nice spacious room. Marriott is a great hotel chain and I am becoming to love the Renaissance hotel brand.
A very spacious bathroom, living room, bedroom with a balcony to sit on. I loved the kitchenette area - everything you could need.
The entire room was clean and everything tidy. I love the toiletries, The bed was heavenly, great choice - Fiji water and the coffee was ok. Only 2 small flaws. The toilet made a bit of a noise when you flushed it, for a few minutes and only 1 phone in such a large room. I always had to get up and go to the room to call.

Just stayed for another visit this past weekend and everything is the same. Great people, great room and I did get to enjoy breakfast during the morning in the restaurant and dinner at night in the restaurant, as well. It is delicious and with spectacular service..
I would diffidently recommend this hotel for stays of all occasions!
They have a free shuttle to St. Augustine...... a great place to visit!
A nice pool area and play area for kids.
The staff is 5 Star - all the way!!!!
I just had another stay there last week and it was great!!!!

The Hotel is very nice! If you want to relax this is the place for you. The front desk staff were on point Zim front desk Supervisor should be commended for A1 service. The only compliant I have would be that the bed in the room was uncomfortable but it will not stop me from booking again!

My wife decided to partake in the BlueGreen timeshare tour in St Augustin. Upon arrival we were comped a room for 2 nights at the Renaissance by Marriot. Upon settling into the room which we were told was a upgrade the smell of sewage gas was prominent in the bathroom and room. After taking a look a round the toilet seal was broken with feces and rust all around it. The walls had water damage and unknown substance on them. My wife had to wear flip flops in the shower as it didn t look like it had been cleaned in years. (I hope I do not get a foot fungus). Do not recommend if your looking for a upscale experience.

We had a family dinner of about 11 people and our server was excellent our meal was excellent and we had a great time.I believe our servers name was Stevie , he was very informative about the menu and specials and very attentive to our large table even while they had a full dining room. We would go and visit again definitely was a great experience.

Went for a social event. The bar staff at the hotel need some work (basically if you don't look like you're about to spend a bunch of money they take forever.) But everyone else is really friendly. Food is great. Beautiful place.

When Marriott uses the term 'Renaissance', what they are really meaning in this case is an old tired concrete bunker of a room which the front desk gal described as ' having a better view' out of the 5 ft by 5 ft windowed room with 2 double beds instead of the king bed room we booked. Shall I mention the fact also that you are held hostage at the breakfast buffet and feel like you are in line at the dept. of motor vehicles? No, please do yourself a favor and walk over to the Legends Grill next door. All in all, this place could use a facelift to rooms, lobby, and management.

The views were spectacular and my room was clean and comfy. My only issue is with some of the staff's less than gracious behavior. Regardless of what their personal feelings may be about certain groups of people, they are there to perform a service, and be kind and courteous to the guests. Receiving open looks of hostility/dislike from employees don't really give me a sense of welcome. If this were to change, it'd be a 5 star establishment, in my opinion. Customer service is paramount.

Just got back form staying here. My experience was great. My room was awesome and comfy. The staff where great esp Josh. The pool was awesome after a day of sightseeing at St. Augustine. Very peaceful and quiet area and lots of things to do here. It you don't want to drive to town they have free shuttles but St. Augustine is just a short drive.

Was hoping to go and get Starbucks using the app but they were unable to read it. In addition they could not take a Starbucks gift card. Bought a drink anyways and was delicious. As was the chocolate. Bar was nice and had a good drink selection. Loved the available outdoor seating and ambiance of the entire hotel. Great amenities.

Hot water (top floor) was a gamble for showers. Coffee machine in the room was missing the filter so only hot water could be made, even though the coffee packs were included.
Majority of TV channels were unavailable due to a conflict with the provider. Our room did not have a balcony, but the window was bolted shut and the bolt heads stripped so no amount of effort could open it.
Downstairs and central foyer is nice and relaxing with a constant stream running through it, which muffles a lot of foot traffic and occasional child outburst. Downstairs area has quite the expensive breakfast buffet and bar. Ironically, there's a Starbucks that offers really affordable coffee as well. I saw a couple vending machines that only accepted cards with no price listed.
View from almost any window is enjoyable, even if you're not a fan of golf. The pool area was always vacant of people, and at night little black kitties would scamper around. I wanted to catch one but I'm sure they'd find a way to charge me for it.
But the kicker for me, a computer geek, was WiFi being $13 a day. Come on. I've been to motels that charge $40 a night but have working coffee machines, free breakfast and WiFi, and windows you could open.

First time here. Beautiful property. Ice machine on our floor broken all weekend and 1AM fire alarm from dance fog machine causing hotel wide evacuation means a little more attention to detail is warranted.

Wonderful place to stay. Lots of amenities to choose from. Everything you could need was supplied. Only warning I'd suggest is watch out for snakes. The paths are well lit at night but we did encounter two different snakes on the walk ways. I called the front desk to let them know and they told me they'd have someone come remove it in the morning. Didn't see it again after that but I'm not sure if they removed it or it wondered off by then.

My family of five, 2 adults, 3 younger children reserved a 1 bedroom suite. Upon arriving in Florida we phoned to ask if we could checkin 230pm instead of 4pm. After a short hold, we were informed our room was not yet ready.
We went to a late lunch at 230pm, and shopped, we arrived after 6pm to discover that they didn't have our room, but would give us two adjoining rooms. With my young son being young, this would mean my husband and I had to split up into two rooms with our girls. While this was a potential solution we asked the girl at the front desk to see if anything else was possible.
A more senior gentleman arrived to say we could cancel our reservation if two adjoining rooms didn't work. It was a little upsetting since we had driven all that way.
My husband walked in with our luggage moments later to find out there was an issue and the gentleman offered my husband a different one bedroom suite which suddenly was available in a king bed (instead of two full). This was a difficult option for five people.
My husband recounted our call to ask to checkin early that day and questioned why we weren't notified then about the room issue. He told my husband the Marriott often overbooks hotels and this can happen. He was rather apathetic and left us with little choice. After many discussions he gave us two rooms for the price of the one room, but our 4th of July vacation splitting into two rooms was not what we hoped in addition to the poor customer service and disregard. I am disappointed in our stay and experience.

We have stayed here the past 10 years for Caddyshack golf tournament. We decided to stay here for a St. AUGUSTINE trip due to wonderful past experiences. Now don't get me wrong; we totally understand Covid restrictions give this year a different look but to stay for 4 days and room cleaning not even offered? We have stayed at plenty of hotels over the past few months including those under the Marriott umbrella and we were always offered the service on anything longer than a 2 day stay. On our own for towels, toiletries. Limited restaurant, bar and couldn't even score a morning coffee with a closed Starbucks. Time to get it together, guys.

This place was such a gem. Far enough away from St. Augustine to relax but close enough to go in for dinner.
The room was clean and we had a great view!
It was beautiful being next to the World Golf Hall of Fame. My husband and I walked around a lot. It was so cute.
Also, the bartender and the food for breakfast were great.
I d definitely recommend this place.

A big disappointment. Low class management. They are worse than my golf swing. Pass it if you can. You'll be sorry you waste $240 per night here. Good luck.
