I'm sitting in the room right now. There is a room service tray with dirty dishes sitting in the hallway at 9pm at night that had been there since I checked in. The room smells like water was left on the carpet to mold. The toilet is so low to the ground it is difficult to use. The shower tiles are not clean and the sheets are heavily wrinkled. I complained about the old food service tray three hours ago and its still there. The food smell is starting to make me ill. I will not stay here again. You could not pay me to stay here again. If my husband and mother were in any state to be moved tonight we would not still be here. I will actively advise people not to stay at this hotel, if you like a clean fresh hotel that is actually four star do not stay here!!

The bar in this hotel is the best part because of their awesome bartender, DAVE! We stayed here while celebrating for a bachelorette party. Our rooms weren't ready so we went and hung out at the hotel bar for a couple hours... Dave was so kind and we recommend everyone to stop and have a drink with him! Thanks again Dave!

We had reservations this past Saturday August 3. We had the Browns scrimmage to go to, so we got back to the hotel at 5:15, room was not ready, your check in time is 4:00. 6:15. room is not ready, 7:00 room is not ready. 7:30 we finally got a room. 3 1/2 hours after check in time. They cut our bill in half, gave us 2 breakfast vouchers which we did not use, drinks, and 3:00 check out. Ran into people in the elevator, they got there at 6:30 FINALLY got a room at midnight. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. Ruined our evening........I would never recommend this hotel again to anyone. Told us "Oh there is 3 weddings" I dont care, I am as important as them, I paid for a room and reserved it just like them...Poor Poor Management!

Not bad, but have stayed at way better for the money. Old but beautiful. Rooms need updated for a tech centered world, barely any outlets and none near the nightstands. Shower was in need up a face-lift and the floor was quite slippery. Not bad, but not great either.

I was in Cleveland for business and stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is beautiful inside. The staff were gracious and very accommodating. The room was nice and medium size. Great location close to the ball park and lots of restaurants nearby.

Location is pretty central in downtown. The food is always good, but the hotel itself is very dark inside, at conference rooms and hotel rooms. Great surroundings but too dark for the money spent.

I was in town for a work function and my company always uses this hotel for their events. Day 2 my room got cleaned, unbeknownst to me a $100 bill was taken from my wallet and I didn t notice it was missing until after I flew home on day 3 and was going to use the money. It s very upsetting to find out I had my belongings violated.

Staff was nice, service was great, conference experience was wonderful. I was not impressed with my room. The bathroom needs upgrades...the tub was chipped and rusted, cracked tiles, and the toilet needs better cleaning.

large room , limited parking at 30 a night, nice hotel slow elevators that are smaller and fewer for the amount needed for the number of rooms they have, beautifully decor for the christmas season, great staff, if you get up in the middle of the night due to insomnia -- and walk the halls -- expect to be greeted by security, make reservations early, rooms are 200 ish a night with all taxes .

Terrible customer service. Kept having to call hotel over and over to reach anyone who could help me with billing issues and lost items. Rooms are small and badly configured but I can forgive that given age of building. However, the room was very cold and the thermostat didn't work properly. I would not recommend.

Charging 200$ something a night and the only thing in the hotel is nice is the lobby is terrible I then been to many Renaissance hotels and this one was far the worst I stayed at!! I m from Ohio and it s crazy how are is the worst one! The location is great but other then that are bathrooms wasn t clean and it s truly outdated for 200$ something a night!! I was very disappointed at this Renaissance especially being from Ohio

I would give this hotel 0 stars if I could. We booked a room for 4 with two beds way in advance. Get into town and they rearranged our reservation to one bed and said every other room was full. Ridiculous.

Great location, close to everything. Beautiful historic building. The rooms are starting to look a little worn down but not horrible. The beds were very comfortable. In room coffee maker and safe but no fridge. I would stay again.

Stayed here last night to attend a concert at the house of Blues for an xmas gift for my wife. The staff was very pleasant. That was the only thing pleasant about our stay. Our room smelled like chlorine so bad my wife got nauseous. Then to be woke up by screaming kids at 8am in the pool after a night on the town did not sit well with me. Highly disappointed and will not be returning to stay at this hotel unless something is done to compensate us for these terrible mishaps.

Very nice hotel. We came in for a very short stay and therefore didn't use much of the amenities that were available. The room as extremely clean and the decor tasteful. It was nicely decorated for the holidays and the staff that we did have contact with were polite and helpful.

Just checked in. Will update later but... Rooms are dirty and not updated (messy caulk in bathroom, peeling wallpaper, stains on carpet and furniture), room is hot as building is only on heat now, no one offered to help with luggage, the club lounge smelled and had no napkins, front staff were not friendly, said I got an upgrade then had to retract, and location is in high loitering area. Plenty of other places to stay in the city at slightly higher prices but much better condition. We stayed because it had a pool for the kids. The pictures are deceiving. Nice bar though which we need.

I wish I had put down a little more money for a hotel that's a lot nicer! This place is "historic" down to the rooms themselves. Our first room had a stale water smell (possibly from not being used during Covid) but we were switched to a different room no questions asked. The staff were all pleasant and the stay was very quiet. Also note, parking in the area is expensive and not included with the room rate! Wi-Fi isn't even included.

Great hotel located in the heart of downtown. Makes for easy time to go from there to anywhere in Cleveland easy. Many great bars and restaurants located within walking distance of the hotel.

As a platinum Marriott member, I have spent more than 670 nights all time in Marriott properties. This is one of the worst for a chain that is almost always excellent. The rooms, even the renovated ones, are very outdated and not renaissance caliber, much less Spring Hill suites. Bathrooms are red roof in quality. Seriously. Customer service is bad (they re nice enough but overwhelmed and not capable of their positions), housekeeping is slow. This hotel isn t worthy of being a Marriott

I can't say enough about this hotel it was wonderful. I am normally ready to head home after a couple days to get in my own bed I didn't want to leave. From the check in to having drinks at bar near the lobby it was wonderful. The room was clean the beds were wonderful the linens and towels clean and soft. Beautiful place the only downfall is they charge for parking and wifi.

Great location, great reception area but the actual room is really small. However, what prompted me to give 3 stars is the fact that they removed the grounding prong on the lamp plug. Not sure why they'd do that as it's safer to have it ground, the outlet has three prongs so there's no reason for that. If it's broken, then replace it. The pay for the hotel is not cheap, pretty sure they can afford to replace it for the guest's safety.

Other concerns:
* I get it, the design is old, but this is really old (musty carpet, worn down door paint and elevator, old phone system, and yeah, broken lamp cord)
* Noisy! My room has bad sound proofing, if any. I am on the 10th floor, and there's barely any traffic but the sound outside are loud
* Heavy chemical smell on the tap water.

The good:
* Friendly reception
* Clean reception area
* Great ball room
* Great location

Beautiful hotel! Went on my birthday weekend and got upgraded suite! My husband gave some money to a person in need and one of the managers was outside and was so impressed by his kindness and then also found out it was my birthday and had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our room! I would highly recommend this hotel! Beautiful room and wonderful staff!!

The service here was not very good. Housekeeping (Stayed two nights) never came to my room, I went to the bar for lunch and never got waited on, and when I called housekeeping no one answered. Room service didn't answer my call either. So I went out for food. The hotel it's self looked good...

We stayed one night 6/24-25. Accentuating the positive - those that I interacted in Housekeeping were very friendly, helpful and customer service oriented. The room decor was nice. Other than that - at check in the young man at the counter stated that we had a "great" view and actually our room faced a wall of other rooms with a slight view of the parking lot across Superior, the room was quite small (in all fairness because it's an historical site there is little to no room for renovations/ expanding) this guy knew exactly the room we were assigned and certainly could have been honest. I called ahead for parking pricing and was told that self park - $18 and valet - $27 only to find out at arrival that it's 27 & 32 respectively. Also, all things considered they're overpriced. I don't plan to ever stay at the Renaissance Downtown Cleveland, Oh again.

Stayed as an overnight guest. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel staff were polite and awesome. Parking was nearby and validated made it free. The downfall was our room was next to the elevator so in the morning it was very loud with people waiting. As a one night event it wasn't bad. But would have had bigger issues if we were planning on a longer trip.

Took a star off, as the indoor pool is closed currently, undergoing renovation, however was still shown as having a pool on Google, and other hotel apps. Hotel has a great downtown location and is really close to everything. The room was nice and large, and the staff were very nice. Breakfast buffet was excellent, with a great selection to choose from. Would return, but would likely be after the pool is done, as we like to swim after a day of site seeing
