I expected more from the Renaissance name. Security needs to be increased at this hotel. There were two fights outside our door, one at around midnight and another at 0230h. Our room had a court view and there were drunk people - guest of the hotel - partying and drinking well past 0430h. I've stayed at other premium hotels in CLE and never had this negative experience.

If we didn't experience the above, I'd give this hotel a solid 4-stars. It needs an update - It was probably an awesome hotel in 1992.

Beautiful Hotel with a great staff right in the middle of downtown by E 4th Street, great restaurants, bars, the Arena, etc. Albert and Kim in the Conceire Lounge are so friendly and take the meaning of customer service to a whole new level! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend.

Went for a large dinner. Food was ok, for a filet meal, I would rate the food at 3 stars, but the staff was pleasant, which helped for the quality of the evening. Steak served cold, Sam Adams being sold as an import beer at import prices, Jack Daniels sold as top shelf liquor... If it wasn't a work function, would have chosen somewhere else for the dinner part. They really should have had more service staff for the meal, some tables next to us had their entire meal eaten by the time ours was set to the table. Ball room is very nice.

Went to the hotel to attend a lunch event. Entrance area was elegant albeit slightly dated. Has a wonderful old world charm. Event area was nicely set up. Lunch was simple yet good but dessert was only so so. They did not do any refills during the event but overall it was a positive experience.

Walking in to the renaissance hotel I was very impressed with the attention to detail throughout the lobby. But once getting to the room the hotel shows its age. Not to mention up charges for almost every service that most hotels include in their pricing. The place was clean but for the cost per night there are much nicer hotels within walking distance for the same price or less. ( I had originally planned on staying 2 nights here but once I realized I could get a full refund for the second night I took it and stayed somewhere else)

This was a beautiful hotel. The room was unique, the layout felt antique. The bed was nice, the shower great. Breakfast was delicious, albeit expensive like any other high end hotel. The hotel is attached to a casino and close to other nightlife. It's also a mere 12-15 minutes from Cleveland clinic.

Stunning hotel. Warm, super friendly staff. DOES NOT HAVE A POOL. Room was ok, decent, clean, about 10 min walk to Rock n Roll Hall of Fame & First Energy stadium. Tons of restaurants in the vicinity. Our view was of the inside of a courtyard. Valet parking was $36/night. Breakfast was delicious.

Beautiful hotel! Comfortable beds, clean rooms, but questionable reservation procedures. Certain that we, and others in our group, booked double rooms. Everyone got a single with no possibility of upgrading due to hotel overbooking. This made for a several inconvenient sleeping arrangements that will be the target of jokes for years to come. Being connected to a nearly deserted mall, casino, transit & movie theater has its perks. The location is ideal with nearby parking.

Being centrally located makes this hotel nice. However I have stayed here on about 5 occasions. I think corporate should go take a look at it. First the place is getting very worn and needs an update. The worst part of this place is if your looking for good service at the bar don't. On the 5 occasions it is always bad. Dennis and David are terrible. They are unfriendly and down right rude. They bark at you what you want ! No friendly gestures at a 500.00 a night over priced drinking hole. They wipe sweat or their noses then hand you a drink without washing. I think the 5th trip to this place is the last. We go to plenty others and this one by far is the worst.

nothing like it said it was going to be. The room was dirty. The parking is way to much none of the elevators work in garage. i was told free breakfast but when it was time to eat they wanted $18 a person. Nothing great the Hilton garden inn was 10 times better . Also on a Saturday night I got told my tv was to loud at 11pm. will not stay again not even for free no thank u

The valet and the hotel have zero communication with each other so make sure they have your car in the garage if you're stay at the hotel! They almost left mine in an empty lot across the street if I wouldn't have noticed.. then tried to charge me 25 extra dollars after the 30 I already paid to move it into the garage because I wasn't given a receipt for the first payment..

Very beautiful Cleveland hotel at Public Square. Attended Alliance for Community Trees and they did nice job. Only thing, wish the food was vegan, especially considering this conference was all about trees and conservation. The meat and dairy were no-nos.

I booked a room after 45 minutes on the phone through a booking agency. Their English was very poor. the room he was booking for me kept being taken before he could book it. He tried so many times that they could not use my credit card. Had to switch To another card.then canceled the next day but was still charged for my room.Fighting with them now for the charges. Will not stay there now...

Rooms are very small. Bottle water in queen rooms are $3 but in our king room same bottle is $5. There was what looks like a red wine explosion on the ceiling. Reminded me of the hotel in the movie The Shining. Staff nice enough, parking garage was weird. I would give it a 3* rating.

The Renaissance is located right down town Cleveland adjacent and connected to Tower City Center. It's is a very convenient location. The rooms and room service was superb!! Plenty of areas to relax and read where the also serve complimentary bottled refreshments. The restaurant was beautiful. Bathroom's are clean and required your room card to enter.

Mixed review. Room was comfy but small. TV in awkward side location but it was new and well connected. However, very dusty and poorly cleaned. At least 3 weeks of dust on the glass top desk in the room.

Have to be 21 to check in even though it doesn t say this anywhere on their website or when booking a room, but apparently it s common hotel practice so make sure to to take a hotel class before booking. Hotel needs to update their website seeing as even the front desk couldn t show me this policy on their website. It is 2020- yikes

Pros:

Pros:
-great location, walking distance to just about anything downtown.
-nice showers, with aveda products which were actually pretty refreshing

Cons:
-Incompetent staff: I was charged for three cars valet parked, and staff has still not corrected the problem. Oh, I should mention $36 to valet, $30 to park in the garage. I do not own, nor can I drive 3 cars at once.
-Rooms are big, but for some reason a 6 person table was situated in the middle of my two person room.
-Bed was very dated, like one of the old beds at your grandparents you nap in after a thanksgiving meal
-WiFi. Ha! Silly you. that ll be $16

Will not be staying here in future trips to Cleveland.

To tell you the truth. There was dissention among the staff, some fundamentals in thd room needed attention and the fountain was shut down. It seems that either there is a takeover of ownership disrupting the staff or the hotel plans are to close. We are concerned because this has always been a great excursion hotel.

Awful experience! Charged my card twice and tried to tell me they didnt and put me in an awful financial situation. Very unorganized, very rude, had to file a dispute on my account to get my money back. Had a security guard come up and SCREAM at us for being "loud" and threatened to kick us out (which I would have loved to see happen considering you guys charged me more than you should have for my stay) which I highly doubt considering we were gone most of the night celebrating my 21st. Very very disappointed

The one thing I can say that I enjoyed about the hotel was the concierge services and valet. They were efficient and friendly. The condition of the hotel is unsatisfactory and in need of renovations. My room had a huge hole in the ceiling of the closet!

Booked for a 2 night stay. I had stayed here 15 years ago and thought it was decent. Pulled up front to no valet service. But I was greeted by some nice folks drinking Hennessy and smoking weed by the main entrance. Had to park in their garage and later was told it costs 32 dollars to park in that dungeon. Went inside and checked in. Rode the janky elevator to the 11th floor and was greeted by a smell that was a cross between marijuana and cat piss with a hint of an old folks home. Quickly tried to cancel the reservation but was told I couldn t. Don t even think about staying here unless you grew up in a group home and want to rekindle that old memory of it.

Love the historic atmosphere of the building and meeting spaces. The beds are super comfortable, but the temperature control in the room could be a little better. No problems with noise or cleanliness.

Parking was a nightmare and after spending 20 minutes to park we were waiting to check in for several minutes. Then on top of that there was a surprise fee that they neglected to tell you until you checked in. Needless to say we did not stay there. Not worth the time and money for so much headache.

For $350.00 a night the rooms are pretty outdated. Also why is there no exhaust fans in the bathroom or a refrigerator in the room? Another issue we had was that the room was supposed to be ready at 4pm. We were able to finally get into the room around 6 30pm but for 2.5 hours we just had to hang out in the hotel lobby. They did give us free breakfast the next day to make up for the mistake
