Perfect location. You dont have to even walk outside to get to the casino. Older hotel and it does need some updating but was very nice. Front desk staff was so friendly and very accommodating! One of our rooms was nicer and larger while the other room was very small with some broken things and the air conditioning didnt work . Breakfast at their restaurant was very good. We will definitely stay here again!

Called front desk to ask them why my ac wasn't working. Lady said in the rudest way. Sir we don't have ac only heat. If you want ac open your windows. I said say what? She said it's an old building and we don't have ac. Note on window says do not open as we have really bad mosquitos in Cleveland. Do not stay here. She offered no solutions.

For a building about to be 100 years old, it's in decent shape. They keep it pretty clean and have friendly staff. However the rooms AC didn't work, it would blow somewhat cold air, and the temperature in the room started at 79 and by morning was still 77. Not great for comfortable sleeping. There was also a used wash rag and bar of soap in our shower. Would really only recommend if the price was right because of how close it is to everything.

The hotel is well kept for the most part. I feel the room carpet should be cleaned better. The carpet felt dusty under the feet. I have also seen a cockroach in my bathroom once. Upon notifying the front desk they were very apologetic about the incident. They compensated me with points for one day's worth. Otherwise, the staff is very nice.

Had this at a 5-star review two years ago. But, due to the fact that you now have to pay for internet.... even when you're staying there... AND the no firearm policy (aka "safe zone"), I'm changing my review to 1 star. Turning into a money scam

Would not recommend, even to an enemy. The price was not worth it at all. The ice machine was broke on 2 floors, rooms were so small, the rooms smell awful, no fridge or microwave in the room- only one and it s a community so always a line to use. Not good service and parking is expensive. They nickel and dime you. Worst place I ve ever stayed in Cleveland. Very outdated and gross.

No valet or notification of no valet. Nothing on their website about no valet. Just sat there waiting for valet that never came. No compensation for no valet. No fridge in room, which I expected to come standard here. Noisier than I'd expect. No room service, either, though their website clearly states that it's available. Overall, if you're looking for a 3-4 star experience, you're better off at the Red Roof. I won't be staying here again.

Great downtown location! Busy place! Our check in was easy. Great service from all the employees we talked to. Lost & found were very helpful in locating my prescription glasses that got left in the room. They were very professional and I was able to pick them up on my return trip to the downtown Cleveland area the following Friday. Room was nice & clean. Quality bathroom products as they carry Aveda products. Although the room was considered a cozy queen - and it was cozy (small). Pool was located in a cool atrium. No whirlpool was disappointing.

My sister and her husband had an anniversary trip planned to the Renaissance in Cleveland. I reached out to the hotel to plan an anniversary surprise for them. I worked with Sally and couldn t speak more highly of her responsiveness and ability to make the experience special for my sister and brother-in-law. And personally, it was one of the best customer experiences I have had. Thank you!

It's an old, dirty hotel with old, dirty rooms. The TVs in the adjacent rooms were easily heard through the walls on both sides of the room. The taxi service they use doesn't show up for the guests. Ever. Do yourself a favor and book on some other Marriott property.

Me and my husband spent New Years Eve at the Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland in room 978 and upon entering the room immediately smelled a strong cigarette odor and found cigarette ashes on the floor in the bathroom. We reported this to the front desk and they suggested sending someone up and spraying a deodorant around the room. We we returned to our room later there was a sweet smell of an air freshener that only masked the stale odor that still lingered in the room and on the pillow cases and bed linens, it was disgusting. Not only was this the only problem once we fell asleep the smoke detector alarm went off at 3:30 AM and kept shutting on and off for a half hour. I feel we should be compensated fully for all the inconveniences we endured during our stay at the Renaissance Hotel as we paid a premium rate for what we thought was a highly recommended Hotel. Please contact me with your thoughts. Thank you in advance, Ron and Cindy Miller.

Enjoyed staying here over New Years Eve for a beautiful wedding hosted by dear friends. We brought our grandson to enjoy the big hotel adventure as well! A great downtown big hotel with an elegant feel. The lobby bar restaraunt was a great spot as well.

While the rooms are a bit small and dated, the location is great, and the rooms are pretty reasonably priced. Staying here puts you right on public square, next to the casino (if that's your thing), and within walking distance of the Cavs arena, the Indians ballpark, and the bars and restaurants on East 4th. Plus there is a movie theatre, mall stores (though they are mediocre), and a train station (local trains, like the T in Boston or the El in Chicago).

If you want a fancy room, you can easily find those in Cleveland. If you want a less expensive room that is centrally located downtown, check this place out!

Historic hotel in downtown Cleveland with ornate and well-maintained lobby and public spaces. The guest rooms are dated and in need of a refresh, particularly the bathrooms. Staff was courteous and helpful. A nice club lounge with views of Public Square and downtown.

Grand old hotel that has had a makeover. It was nice. Nothing great. It was clean and the bed slept well. It's attached to a shopping mall that is slowly dieing. I would stay there again when I have business in downtown Cleveland.

Lovely charm. Great location and staff was attentive and courteous. The view from the twelfth floor was beyond breathtaking even on a cloudy day in February. A little loud at times when larger groups are leaving Jack's casino especially at 3 am. Not hotels fault but the sound carried from street level.

My stay was very nice at the hotel, however upon leaving from the hotel with my vehicle I valeted I found damage to the front bumper as well as my shields under the vehicle. I did not notice this immediately at pick up so they are denying my claim. I contacted them immediately the next day when I went to wash my vehicle from the drive back from the hotel. It is also frustrating that I could not have anyone from the claims department respond to any of my voicemails as well as emails to them. I do not ever recommend staying here if you plan to valet a vehicle.

This is a historic hotel in the city center of Cleveland. This hotel is something that you would see in a movie. Marble floors. Grand staircase and a water fountain. The staff is friendly. Rooms are quaint but very comfortable. Beautiful outdoor courtyard. Tons of amenities. Walking distance to Tons of food, the stadium, federal buildings and other activities. Be ready to pay for parking. It can be difficult to find street parking if there are activities going on in the city.

This is the worst hotel I've stayed at. Our room was filled with pet hair. So we called and they were nice enough to change it. But...even after the room was changed the other room wasn't spotless. There where spider webs on the curtains, and the lein was very not the best. Go anywhere but here...this place needs to be remodeled.

First, the good: it's an old, grand building that has been renovated. The rooms are nice it's a good location if you need to be in that immediate downtown area. Also, the staff is well-trained and really fantastic.

The bad: although the downstairs in lobby area is ornate, beautiful architecture, the building is way past its prime, and I would imagine it's a complete money pit. That said, some corporation put a ton of money into the renovation. There is still a hint of it being a bit dirty and unfinished. The carpets in that lower area, although beautifully printed, are faded and have seen better days. The downtown, indoor mall that is attached to the hotel is suffering from inner-city blight.

Look, I'm being nitpicky here, the truth is it's nice, the beds are comfortable, the pillows are great and the rest of what I've said is just the hotel slapping you around a little bit and saying, Hey pal, you're in Cleveland, remember?
