They gave me a chance when I had bad credit.....always friendly and reliable customer service, never had an issue with them...I am grateful to them for their assistance in helping me build my credit, but more importantly for allowing me to purchase a much needed vehicle, when no one else would.

The only reason why someone would finance anything...

The only reason why someone would finance anything through Reliable Credit Union is because they have damaged credit... HELLO!!! That's me.

So I currently have 2 vehicles financed through them because litterally no other union would take a chance on me. It's my own doing, I have seen the error of my ways and I am actively working to improve myself. One vehicle has been financed with them for about a year and the other for about 6 months and I have had no major issues with Reliable Credit Union thus far. Every time I call to make my payments and I pay both vehicles at once. Theyve never penalized me for anything theyve ever messed up because theyve never messed anything up for me yet.

The downsides with financing through this company are going to be evident right off the bat and that's the insanely high interest rates that they will quote you. I'm talking 21 percent or more easy!!! Also, I dont know if they do extended finance plans on their loans, I financed 1 of my cars for 4 years and the other for 3 years both of which have no cosigner. One was 11k and the other 5k. Maybe if you're vehicle costs more then theyll do 6 or 8 year plans but expect higher monthly payments either way.

Would I continue to finance through Reliable credit Union in the future? Unless they can give me lower rates... probably not (unless it's still my only option). Also, even if they did I'd much rather be associated with a more reputable Union than a union associated financing those with poor credit (if any other reputable union would take me on).

I have not asked for a lower rate or to extend out my payment plan maybe 2 more years but I would like to do that. I may give them a call and see what they can offer me. I've never missed a payment and always paid in full so I should see no reason for them to not at least come up with some type of offer for me.

I have used this company over 6 times in the last ...

I have used this company over 6 times in the last 10 years and payed off every loan early and consistently get phone calls and letters from this company inquiring about emergency cash to catch up bills or consolidate or for holidays and have never had an emergency need until now. In the past we have dealt with someone wonderful Stephanie Gillis and when i requested that person again was transferred to someone who took my info and was contacted over 2 days later by young man named Travis, it was clear he was newer at this and I have been told our records are kept at this company to be used as a consideration. He questioned about everything and would not take additional info I requested him to take about income. I was applying for a small simple loan to catch up household bills after being laid off month ago, was offering title to our classic car for a short term loan that I could pay off in 3 months (in past i get long term loans). OUTCOME: I receive no call back and days later I have to contact someone else there who informs me that he is surprised that I did not get a call back, that he had turned me down for debt to income being low. First off after such a long relationship I do not understand why we did not deserve a call back or explanation, that is what my chief complaint is and not that they said no;It is now obvious we are not that good of a client that, or they don't like the fact that we pay off our loans in full and early so they are not earning enough interest off of us.

Sure intrest rates suck. Sure their not the most popular people. But let's be real, our credit blows. Company does exactly what it advertises, high risk loans.
The people who get upset are the ones that get buyers remorse, then blame it on them. Heres a suggestion, don't buy the car. Yes it sucks get over it. Place blame were it belongs, the mirror. Peace out

All together they're a sloppy and kind of "ghetto" high interest lender but I swear they hire payday loan or goodwill rejects that have no patience or knowledge of banking. They definitely prey on the less fortunate and never help on lowering rates at all.

So great when you're trying to pay your bill early and they lock you out without notification if you don't change your password. Then you try to call on the weekend when their online service won't respond to the "Forgot Password" request and there's no one there. Unhelpful, unprofessional, scammy behaviors and dishonest employees. Stay far, far away and report them to the CFPB like I did if you experience issues.

I have done business with this company for several years. Every time I make a payment I am told I qualify for a personal loan. When I finally apply for one, I am told I don't have enough "equity". 4 years not one missed payment, and now all they did was damage my credit. What a joke. Time to refinance somewhere else.

My husband and I made the mistake of accepting a loan with these people before researching them. Yeah, I know, that was dumb on our part, but we decided to try to make the best of the situation and be as careful as possible with them. We sent all our payments on time through certified mail. We hadn't had our vehicle eight months before my husband got a call saying they hadn't received the check he sent. They said they would be willing to wait for us to cancel the check and send out a new one. Well, they didn't. They had the truck repossessed and sent the new check back to us. Then they told us that we couldn't have the truck back until we payed the remainder of what we owed! Obviously we didn't have that kind of money lying around to send them, so they auctioned off the truck and told us we now owe them the difference. I guess we learned a hard lesson. To anyone else needing a loan for a vehicle, stay far, far away from Reliable Credit Association!

Terrible company to deal with. Always something with these guys. Shame on me for getting another loan through them for another car. The dealer paid off my old loan and yet RC still took out payment. They fixed it when I called, after speaking to a terribly rude man there that was SURE I was wrong and told me I wasn't qualified to tell him what's wrong or right. Another month goes by and I still haven't received my title. They had an excuse for that as well and I had to go hoops to get a title for a car that I now own outright. Everything is my fault, they don't own mistakes. Why was I never called about the title issue????? I feel bad for the people that work here. I finally got them to stop cold calling me for more loans at least....

Wouldn t even give them one star! Terrible customer service, absolutely RUDE employees with no knowledge and no manners. Employees have no clue what s going on and they all tell you different things. We are up to date on our account and they still call DAILY to confirm our next payment! Beyond annoying and invasive. Talked to three different representatives/managers today and none of them were on the same page. They lie and harass! Paying off our full payment so we don t have to work with them ever again.

I moved out of state.. requested a copy of the title for registration and they refused since they have no jurisdiction in my new state even though I have been in good standing for 3 1/2 years. Got the pay off amount that was good for 10 days and when I called back to pay off the car, they refused payment.

I honestly have NO IDEA why anyone is complaining....

I honestly have NO IDEA why anyone is complaining. We wrecked our credit during the 2008 crisis to survive. We have to be able to rebuild, and that means taking out installment loans, if you are serious about rebuilding your credit in 2 or 3 years rather than 10 to 15, it is NECESSARY to have an installment loan history.

Next addressing these claims of rude or inexperienced people...
I am permanently disabled, on SSDI, I get paid a very paltry sum of less than 650/mo after working for 20 YEARS.

My wife has a decent full time job, and she is in middle management, made necessary by a for profit scam school owned by C.E.C./Sanford-Brown in a scheme they had with Sallie Mae, and her degree never made her more than $10/hr. THOSE ARE RUDE PEOPLE WHO WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU, AT ALL.

Well we moved across the country for better job offer for her. We did not own a vehicle, NYC is way too expensive to park.
We have had our loan on an almost new vehicle, for a little over a year now, one we found hiding in the back that only had 300 miles, and is a 2016. Nothing wrong, it was traded in for something bigger less than a month after its first purchase.

We were able to get a great deal from a dealership who was in over their heads on used vehicles. MSRP would have been about 21K. All in all we got it for 8K, with finance charges, taxes, and fees, of course bringing that to 14k. $235/mo 5 year loan. Considering the last 4 dealerships couldn't find us anything decent for less than $450/mo. we were thrilled.

I have major kidney problems and have about 4 hospitalizations and at least 8 ER visits a year, under Medicare. I still have to pay 20%. When we have gotten behind because of this, ANY TIME WE HAD TO CALL RELIABLE TO ASK FOR MORE TIME THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN RUDE OR SAID NO! In fact many times they have dropped the miniscule $10 late fee. Sometimes I've had to make a double payment because I had to miss a month. They have never once dinged our credit for being late.

Having formerly worked in retail prior to being a machinist, I know that it is rare for any customer service agent to start off rudely. It is VERY OFTEN that the people who are talking to THEM feel entitled and superior, and act nasty, to the point of insult, on a person who is trying to help them! If they hit their limit of abuse then they do get rude. I dont blame them.

So I call B.S. on anyone complaining. You got what you wanted, buyers remorse is your own fault... You have 14 days to return the purchase normally, and reliable offers 30 days. If you knew you couldnt afford the payment then you shouldn't have taken the loan. You were lucky to get one in the 1st place!

One more thing. Compared to interest rates offered by the other medium to high risk lenders to us, reliable was 6 pts. lower than ALL of them. Yeah 23.99% sucks, but it's a whole lot better than 29.99%! Most of your credit cards are higher than 23.99%!

By the time we have paid for 3 years our credit will be rehabbed to the point of being able to refinance through a lower risk lender. That is, and should be the AIM YOU ARE SEEKING!

It isn't their fault we messed up our credit to begin with. For us that need a second chance, they are a god send. Yeah the rates are high, but all of us have a history of not paying our bills. Why else would you be doing business with them. As long as I'm able to drive what i want, I don't mind paying a little extra.

Unreliable should be the company name. This company cares nothing for it's customers. It is concerned only with the bottom line. Super high interest rates are only the beginning. If you are one of many people struggling to make ends monthly, you are exactly the unfortunate soul this company preys upon. If you choose to get a loan with Unreliable, be prepared to pay every payment by the due date. Should you be so unfortunate to come up short one month, be prepared to be expected by the management of Unreliable to be in constant weekly contact with their representatives to reassure them you will pay, and be prepared to always have a "plan" of when and how much you will pay. Then be prepared to be bombarded with automated computer phone calls with messages asking you to hold the line to be connected to an Unreliable representative at all hours of day and night. My advice would be to sell your soul to avoid acquiring a loan from this company of loan sharks.

AVOID FINANCING THROUGH THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!...

AVOID FINANCING THROUGH THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!! Not only do they tell you that you can refinance in a few months for a lower rate and not do it, I had one of their agents slip when I had inquired about this at one point and tell me that they would get in trouble for lowering an interest rate. In addition, the quote-unquote customer service is on average mediocre-at-best! The person I just got off of the phone with was so rude, disrespectful and outwardly demeaning with how she handled my situation.

Seriously! Tri United finance or a handful of other carriers for challenged credit if you need to finance a vehicle. Buy a bus pass before financing through this company!

I've had two loans with Reliable, don't have the best credit, which is my fault. They have always been really good to work with. Yes, they'er rates are super high. But they are taking a really big risk on us people who have a track record of not paying bills on time. As long as you pay your bill on time, you will never have a problem with this company. I would like to thank them for helping me improve my credit so I never have to use them again :)
Thanks Reliable, For giving me a loan when no one else would!

Absolutely a terrible place. they have no care, their Staffing is rude and unknowledgeable. they place you on hold for insane amounts of time just to come back to you and tell you they will call you back and then they don't. in their own advertisement they offer you help when you ask for that help they deny you they don't take any notes to put on your account so the next rep that calls you, multiple times, doesn't know what is happening. They don't speak to one another and you have to deal with multiple people. There's so much more horrors but not enough time to tell them.

Do not waste your time. If a company repeatedly tells you you qualify for a loan you believe it. So when you ask for a small loan and and get refused it is upsetting. Staff is unknowledgeable on their own products and services. Online glitch caused a payment to not process and I was penalized with a late payment fee. The fee was coded as non sufficient funds despite having the funds available. Staff misguided me with instructions to resolve it. Manager refused to reverse the fee. Once this loan is paid off I will never work with them again.

Reliable gives those that have dinged their credit...

Reliable gives those that have dinged their credit an opportunity to get credit and begin to build their credit rating back as well as be able to buy a car or get a personal credit line where other banks and credit unions wouldn't . They also base their pricing on risk; so the worse your credit is, the more expensive it is to obtain credit; logical. They treat you fairly and good at communicating with their customers.

STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN!!!!! I know they help people ...

STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN!!!!! I know they help people out with less than perfect credit, but they are absolutely the worst. I have had my car with them for about a year and a half, have never ever missed a payment- even during this pandemic. We are late, maybe by 10-15 days sometimes, especially now with paychecks differing, and they literally call us every day we are late, multiple times a day. Again, we are not even 30 days late, they start calling at about day 6. I called and asked them to stop calling because it is stressful and we have never been 30 days late. She said "well its late so we're going to call you" I have blocked their number so please, waste your time calling me for a car payment just a few days past due, IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC. They also only stopped late payments for about 3 months during this hard time. Shows how much they care about their customers. That $13 late fee must be really important to their closing numbers at the end of the month. Once I have the time, I plan to refinance.

Made on time payments some times two weeks in adva...

Made on time payments some times two weeks in advance of its due date for two years. Here is what I got with Reliable: 2009 purchased a dodge intrepid using a fleet vehicle because again, this could help my credit record as a trade in. three days later, car is dead. Reliable offered me another loan on a better car. Took the offer for my business needs and bought a town car. A year and a half later the steering column starts to smoke and then catches on fire. Vehicle number 3. Bought it and got it home just to find out that it had over $2,000 in repairs it needed before I could use it for business. Sunk $2,000 into it and it still sat dead. Even the motorcycle broke down. This was my turning point. I went to reliable credit to get a cash loan on the equity over the course of two and half years of steady ontime payments to get these vehicles back on the road so I can start making money again and I was to in short fraze that I was screwed!! Last week they called wanting to know about payment and I told them I was not going to pay for junk any longer. That same day they had a tow truck plucking the vehicles out. One vehicle I did not have an address on as to where it was at and today my former driver told me that last friday they had come to his house and took the car. Hmmm GPS tracking devices is how they find these vehicles. Have you ever wondered why your battery goes dead in your car from time to time? Have you ever wondered why the dealer or private person your buying the car from wants to take it to reliable to show them the car first? It is because they install a tracking device in your vehicle before it leaves! Bottom line, Take what payments you will give this company and make it to yourself. Then in two years take that amount and go buy your car for cash! This is a subprime lender. They will not help you but hurt you in the end! FYI, As a business owner myself, they are writing all the positive feeds on these reviews themselves. Save your money, pay off your debts. Save your money and buy for cash a nicer car and own it. Otherwise you will lose your job, then your car, then end up in court owing these thieves your life!

I am on my third loan (soon to be 4th) with Reliable Credit. They gave me a chance when my credit score wasn't very good, it was actually terrible. NO lender would give me a chance when I needed a car. In getting the past few loans with them, my score has gone up, so it's a win-win. It's easy to pay online which is awesome because I can't stand having to call places to make a payment each month. They occasionally call to check on me or to offer other loans. We have worked with Wendy there for several years, she is always awesome. The branch manager personally called me to tell me he'd noticed I pay ahead on my loans, which is what spurred me to write this review. A very personal and professional place, I will always go with them. It is amazing to me that so many people who have accepted a loan from them are upset, getting a loan is a choice, not something anyone forces you to do. I'm lucky they gave me a chance when no one else would.

Do not even get a star Just had to select one to post review! Worst lender to do business with. Paid on time every month for over three years. Traded the car in and the dealer is paying the loan off. They called and requested ten-day payoff and notified them that payment was coming. So day nine Reliable Credit starts calling and emailing me that I'm still responsible and this is going against my credit.. REALLY! Am I as stupid as you? No! The payment is not thirty days past due and you have it noted in the file that the loan is being paid in full by the dealer so um lets harass someone who was a good customer.

I'll give 3 stars because the customer service is great!! Never had a bad experience there. BUT... this company will suck all the money out of you. The finance will drain you. I paid for my Tahoe 2 times it's worth just in interest. Even when you point that out and ask if we can get a break on a early payoff they will say no... all the interest is still owed. Then the final payment which is today... not due until the 24th... is $30 more then the payment plus you get charged $0.21 per day since the 17th... I know if doesnt seem like much but why charge me per day before my "due date"? They will find any way to get whatever they can!!! Oh and plus at the end of the call...they have the nerve to ask you if you would like to refinance... I couldn't stop laughing at that one.

Reliable credit auctioned my car without giving me right to recovery. They auctioned my car for $600 bucks and I'm being told my balance is nearly the same as BEFORE I allowed them to retrieve the vehicle in the first place from the person I was trying to sell the car to for THEIR non payment! I even still currently have a private loan for the car to be paid off! I am currently disputing reliable credit for failing to adhere to consumer rights and protections. They auctioned my car without notifying me and then next day called and tried to hassle me into payment arrangements then threatened to send me to collections and asked me "how do you wanna handle this?"!?!?
The nerve.

I had a loan on my car with Reliable for a year and a half. Got stuck with them because I had bad credit at the time I took out my loan. Set up my car payments on auto-pay and NEVER missed a payment and WAS NEVER late. After a year, I called to see if I could refinance into a lower interest rate and lower my monthly payments, giving them the first crack at keeping my business. The lady I spoke to was SUPER rude! Basically treated me like I was an idiot for having to rely on them to begin with, gave me some snarky comment about my credit (which, after having it set up on auto pay for a year, went WAY up - if you want to build your credit, set up on auto pay and your credit will jump HUGE!). Then she very rudely told me that they could only lower my interest rate by less than 1%. After having been a WONDERFUL customer and paying on time and never missing a payment, I let her know what I thought of her offer, and hung up on her (I was pissed at that point). Went to my credit union after a year and a half of payments being made on time, and I dropped my interest rate by 20% and cut a YEAR of payments off my car loan.

I did not like dealing with Reliable. The people are super rude, and it's not worth it. I HAPPILY give my money to my credit union each month. I DO NOT recommend Reliable Credit. But if you're one of the people like me who needed to use them to get some good credit built up, by all means, they report monthly to your credit and making your payments on time will build up your credit enough to leave them and go somewhere else. They are USELESS if you plan on using them for a full term loan, but GREAT if you can use them and leave them to go somewhere else!!!!

Granted the organization is primarily set up for 2...

Granted the organization is primarily set up for 2nd chance lending, so folks that emerged from bankruptcy or overall bad credit, so rates will be higher to start with. Their products are marketed for those in medium to high risk categories whether is is auto loans or unsecured personal loans. I underatand that.

I have been a customer for a couple years, had some life issues where I had to choose to pay some creditors and not others, but that has long past, hence why I am a customer here.

Where I get upset about RC is their staff. The staff has a general lack of knowledge or experience. Also, they do not understand or know how to deal with errors that they made. For example, I obtained an auto loan, the origional contract at the dealership was to have myself as the ONLY person tiltled and registered on my vehicle. My wife at the time, now ex, was a cosigner ONLY. She didnt have her licence, she hasn't paid a dime toward the car, it was simply a pure cosigner. RC does the title as her as an owner, despite she not signing anything to own the vehicle, only accepting responsibility that she is a cosigner. But yet, she is an owner of the car...

Bills paid exclusively by me, early even...come back with divorce paperwork, bill of sale/release of interest, she is long gone...anyhoo, trying to refi with someone else or even trading in because I can get a much much better rate now...cant do anything without her physically here...

Trying to work with RC to correct THEIR error in the first place where she should never been on the vehicle ownership, the dealership is trying, but they won't listen ans acknowledge they made an error...it is highly frustrating as I am moving out of state in a month. So I am stuck with something I can't do anything with.

The part that tipped me off out of all of this, I went to the office a few weeks ago to meet up with an agent there to evaluate options...there was a young Asian woman, I do not recall her name, aside from the staff that seemed clueless or helpless or unwilling to even talk or discuss or go over any kind of options, this woman was extremely loud, rude, unsympathetic, dealing with this issue was a rather sensitive matter, while I wasn't offended directly, she just was pressing and overbearing. The whole reason for this review, I remember walking into the building and this person was talking to her headset very loudly, then there was an older couple that was at her desk being "assisted" by her, and while I am at the front desk giving my information and explaining my situation (which turned to explaining 4-5 to different people), I can hear her a good 30+ feet away being loud and what sounded fairly rude tone to these two. I didn't think much of it at the time as I was minding my own business as I was dealing with my business...but thinking back, I just am completely turned off from these guys because of this woman alone, the barrage of words and tone just make dealing with them even harder...

All the meanwhile I get calls and asked do you want to borrow more money from us, and all I can think of is, I completely regret taking any from you to begin with. I mean I rather have taken money from a loan shark that would collect with their baseball bat and crowbar threatening to take your legs if you don't pay on time, then to have dealt with these folks who are incompetent and inconsiderate and inexperienced...

I guess if you are happy with them, great...but those who want an easy process and actually want to be treated like a human go somewhere else...if these guys are the only ones that will loan out to you, just be forewarned that it won't be easy dealing with them.

During this whole pandemic, reliable credit has not been understanding at all. I have been out of a job just like every else this year. And its been a bit harder to find jobs now since it's limited. They do not care about whats happening to you in your life they just want the money or they'll repo your car. They get very pushy and ask you to ask other people for money to pay your car payment. They ask why haven't you gotten unemployment (its been backed up for months). They are very rude and unprofessional. I get it if we weren't in the middle of a pandemic, I could understand where they are coming from. But we ARE in the middle of a pandemic and they need to understand that not everyone is able to pay money at this moment. And shouldn't repo your car because you can't pay in the middle of a pandemic. And understand that you have other bills too, like rent for example, they don't care if you're homeless, they expect you to pay them first. They are a very greedy company.

horrible horrible horrible company! unwilling to work with you in any way to make your payments lowered and realistic. the lower your credit score the higher your payments will be. their goal is to screw you with their inability to be flexible. their customer service is rude and unaccepting of your financial situation. if i had known before purchasing a car and i would be dealing with reliable credit i would just looked elsewhere. this company wants you to fail!! Good luck.

Don't ever do business with this association, even if you have bad credit. They find little ways to rip you off. A junker for $500 bucks is worth it than compared to a 29% interest loan. BUY A CRAIGSLIST CAR!!!!!!!

I own a cafe and I was two payments past due. Made arrangements to pay Friday. I could not. They repossessed right in front of my staff dragging it by it s front end being a front wheel drive it was smoking the entire drag length. This was my delivery vehicle. I offered them $1,000.00 on the spot but they want $1500.00. Two payments of $325.00 each turned into $1500.00. These guys are heartless

Don't even bother trying these guys if you are self employed no matter how much money you make. Was told fairly rudely that they will not give me any kind of credit for a car because I am a ride share driver even though I make 3 to $4000 a month.

This makes absolutely no sense to straight up refuse ride share drivers who work full-time. I make money with my car which means the car payment comes first and foremost! So basically they will not help the safest choice they could because I work when I want and not on a set schedule by a corporation. Which is every single self employed person on the planet.

Over the years I ve had a couple loans with these people and recently I had some unforeseen home repairs come up that I needed to get a loan on one of our vehicles

After going thru all the hoops they only sent $103 of the $259 required to get this car registered and new plates set to us so we can legally drive the car..While waiting for the plates to show up we get a letter from DMV almost 2 months later stating they didn t send enough money and that we need to send the additional so we can get the plates for our car..

In this time we re spent an additional $66 on temp permits and now have a car we can t drive since we re only allowed 2 per vehicle per year

Jared has been FAR from helpful in this situation and pretty much says it s up to you to pay the additional and deal with it

If you can avoid using them I would highly recommend it as you ll be given excuse after excuse

Reliable Credit has given me nothing but a difficult time. I lost my job and missed one payment. I called to try and work something out and they immediately repossessed my car. They then tried to charge me all the towing and impound fees. Their customer service and unit managers are very rude, curt, and impatient. They treated me, their customer, like I was not important. DO NOT USE THEM GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!

Take your money else where. By far was the worst decision I've ever made. They weren't willing to work with us about even a date of when we could pay each month. Please don't use them, you'll regret it.

Had an auto loan through them. They were my only option because I hadn't established credit yet. Fell on a hard month. They repossessed the car after 30 days not giving me the one more day I needed to catch up. Sold the car for dirt cheap. Never contacted me to tell me what I owed left and put me in collections by the months end. Never payed late before that. Took multiple loans from them. And this is how they treated there long term customer. Think twice!!!!

I've actually had payment problems several times, once after my bank account was compromised, and then once when the online system would not accept my payment. I've actually received excellent service everytime I've needed help. Also, I have the worst credit ever, and this company extended me financing, at a really horrible rate, 30%, but they've been really good to work with overall.
