Small but had everything I needed for an overnight layover. Also SUPER CLOSE to TONS of cool touristy things. Seriously, if you're stuck in this airport on a layover I would highly recommend driving the 10ish minutes to the Mall. The airport itself has decent food selections and cool ipad systems where you can order stuff too.

Every time I come here my flight gets delayed or boarding is delayed or we're stuck on the tarmac because they didn't have a gate open when our flight arrived and the parking is expensive. The only positives are the staff being nice and customs being quick and the airport bring directly connected to the metro.

The terminals have plenty of things to do to hold you over, but they shut down pretty early and after around 10pm you are no longer allowed to enter the terminals if you are waiting due to a long layover. Forcing you to sleep inside the public facing airport. Make sure you bring blankets if you'll be here overnight as it gets extremely cold.

TSA ( handling of more then usual travelers ) i have never seen it managed this bad anywhere and i have seen bad. Travel to 45-50 different airports yearly and this airport thus far has the worst TSA handling. I think anyone managing McDonald's or BK could do better, shameful to see this at nation's capital. I would avoid this airport at any cost, even if it meant a connection I'd choose BWI or Dulles.

TSA was nice. I was in the southwest airlines side, which was kind of packed but it started to pick up after a while. plenty of food and big, easy directions for things like the metro and terminals.

the airport itself is efficiently ran. However is a contractor traffic can be a real bear it's hard to locate any particular car rental or gate, so please give yourself plenty of time, which we never have enough of. To get into their mess of traffic

Today is my first day flying. I am going from DCA to Denver, and I am by myself on my birthday to visit family! I thought this airport was so simple and I didn't even have to ask anyone for any help. The customer service is excellent. FAST security lines!!! The man who checked my ID and boarding pass commented "by the way, happy birthday!" And I was passing though. Very helpful and friendly service. Will continue to always use Ronald Reagan Washington to fly from now as I was very comfortable on my first airport experience!

Once you move past the security, there's a great selection of shops for you while you wait for your flight. The facilities are abundant, with phone chargers, bubblers, etc, and a wide, great view of the tarmac and planes. Only complaint is that it's under renovations.

We were able to get through security fairly quickly here and were on time for our flight. The airport seems clean and security seemed pretty good. Food options were not so great, but it's an airport...

Easy in and out service on the flight in. The flight home.....not so much. Kept getting shuffled from one gate to the next until flight that originally set to leave at 10:10pm finally left at 1:30am.

Raymond, a contractor for American, noticed that I had a cane and was walking slowly. He came up and started asking me questions about my flight and gate. He convinced me that I needed a wheelchair to get to gate 43C, which is all the way at the end of the concourse for American. I have tons of metal in my ankle and right leg from broken femur and compound fracture of ankle. He waited till agent came to escort me in wheelchair through security and to the gate.

Raymond is an above and beyond customer service guy. Reagan National Airport and American are lucky to have him!

I had to fly out of this location on a multiple number of occasions for work. I really enjoy being able to take pictures as we were on the final approach from different areas over top of the Monuments from the sky.

What a joke! If I could give this airport a negative star I would. You have to walk around outside and wait for a shuttle to take you to the building because they don't have a terminal. It's run down and smells. I will never select a trip with a layover at this airport again!

This is a very nice Airport. My only one complaint is that several resturants you may want to patron are in a particular gate like 5 guys you have to be a out going passenger to get to some of them.
I don't understand why can't this Airport be named The Presidents Airport ??? Why was it named after one Simi popular modern President.??

I am a fan of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Every time I have visited, security is quick and efficient. The lines are basically non-existent! They have a wide range of restaurants and shops on both sides of security. Lines can be long at places like Starbucks, but they move quickly. The place is super clean - even the restrooms, which is impressive.

One of the only main cons I can think of is that there are not enough seats at the gates. People are sprawled all over the floor, leaning against the wall and columns, etc. There just isn't enough seating to accommodate everyone and that is a bummer.

DCA is, in my experience, a very good airport. When conditions are right and everything else is set everything goes smoothly. I feel like there is good communication between the airlines and the airport which allows for things to also go smoothly. The staff are extremely helpful when asked questions. This is one of my favorite airports to depart from and arrive to. It also helps that it's so convenient in location.

Worst airline experience ever with American Airlines at this airport; they give you seating last moment, expected my two year old to sit alone away from my spouse and I, had my very pregnant wife, my child and myself crammed on a jam packed tram bus for 1 whole hour waiting in front of the plane, then we board and they tell us there were issues with the plane. Not choosing this airport/airline ever again btw.

Beautiful airport (especially compared to LAX) with lots of shopping and dining inside. Best part is that the subway station (and rental car area) is right across the street.

It is a little confusing to get to and from the airport as the freeways are a mess but once inside the checking in and security process is pretty fast (approximately 10 minutes to get through security in the middle of the day).

TERRIBLE SET UP!!! The security is incredibly confusing and slow. Once through we looked to go to the USO and it was only accessible through terminal A. That meant we would have had to leave our terminal and go through security in terminal A only to need to come back to our gate in a different terminal and go through security AGAIN! Incredibly inconvenient for any military personal not flying out of terminal A. Was very upset with the set up.

On Saturday, June 10th at 5:30 AM, I experience the worst customer service in DCA United Airlines. After getting our boarding passes, my family and I proceeded to move our checked-in bags into a section where United would retrieve them. The person handling our bags was non-communicative and nonchalant literally yelling at us to step away. I unfortunately did not get her name. However, DCA needs to hire people with a better work ethic and attitude. This makes traveling that much harder. It's dealing with poor customer service and no-sense-of-direct employees who look miserable being at work.

Traffic can be heavy, as expected, at popular flight times, but traffic control personnel smooth it out. Have taken Metro, great option, but mostly have driven to pickup, drop off, park ( hourly, cell phone wait, long term). Lane changes can get confusing, but keep in mind when this classic air terminal was constructed before anticipation of traffic volume we see today. One can easily make another lap, just put the phone down and pay attention to signage. Highly recommend a visit to the old terminal. I read it was the model for the zeppelin terminal in Last Crusade movie.

Crowded and crowded. I expect the crowds. It is our nation s capital after all. Flew to this airport and after a long flight, wanted to get int my rental and get out. The shuttle to the rental car is on the 3rd floor. So you take the elevator up from baggage claim, fo outside and find the stop that says rentals and parking. Then you wait and wait and wait. The busses are clearly not running fast enough to keep up with the crowds. When a bus finally arrived, people tried to pile on. It was packed. I didn t expect a seat but you couldn t even stand properly. The driver didn t take any measures to regulate how many people boarded. A bit ridiculous.

I fly into this airport at least two times a year in spring and summer for business. CheckIn is efficient usually with lots of kiosks and agents who are busy but pretty patient. I fly American, so I can only speak for that side of the terminal. The food choices meet my needs with coffee, a variety store with snacks, etc., and 1-2 harmlessly nice eateries for food/drink. My drawback is how they handle flights out of 35X which is always the one I use. Just not done well. They talk too fast, raise their voice too much, and are struggling to be patient and nice. I feel like part of herded cattle. Very little sitting space down there at the gate, so you have to listen carefully when your flight is called so you can be allowed to go to gate. I usually have to get on bus and go back and forth from gate to terminal twice with wait times on the bus of 25-30minutes. It needs better organization here which ruins an otherwise decent metropolitan airport experience.

An okay airport. I lost my mobile here, so that was super annoying. The terminals are not easily accessible either, very widespread. If you have to overnight it, it has to be outside of security unfortunately. There has been reports via forums to use the prayer/religious area, but it closes during the night.

Even with the construction Washington National Airport (DCA) is my favorite DC Airport. If you are in the Delta (B concourse) there is a great view of the capital just across the Potomac. Whether you Metro there (highly recommended) or you drive (parking is tight) it s just a nice scenic drive and wait while

This is a super easy airport to navigate! I was fortunate to arrive just as several Honor Flights were arriving that day. These were veterans from WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam war. The place was alive with celebration! There was a group of singers singing miltary songs, people with banners, and lots of clapping. It was an incredible experience.

It is a small airport.
There is also a souvenir shop with a president and the wife of the president and a panel that can take pictures and it's interesting.
To Starbucks inside, it is also good for souvenirs as it sells original coffee cups.

The most convenient airport in the DC metro area. I always enjoy flying out of here for domestic travel. It's so easy to go between terminals if needed as it is not so huge like IAD. Easy in and easy out. Parking is convenient as well.

I always fly out of terminal A for Southwest, so your experience may vary based on which terminal you are at.

The TSA line is always quick, but there terminal itself is very small so you may have to stand while you wait which isn't a huge deal. The baggage claim is almost always slow in the evening, which could cause you to miss the last train out of the airport.

Very Good Staff & Service! Always short wait times for many things, (Luggage Collection, Boarding, Reception, Etc.). Also they have a overly well variety of restaurants and small little snack bars/kiosks. Overall I love traveling to and from this airport because of the good qualities it always has when I leave Home.

Reagan s Terminal B is a beautiful structure to traverse through and my many times flying in and out of this airport has been pleasant.
Getting to and from this airport is quite easy as well. I certainly recommend taking the WMATA, which is connected to the airport via the Blue and Yellow lines. The road ways in DC can be a mess, depending on the time you re going or coming from the airport.
There s a few places to eat, shop around and airport lounges for American, Delta and United here. Being a Delta flyer I ve only been in their lounge and it s a very beautiful Sky Club lounge. I ve never come through here and it s been crowded. If you want a quiet space you re bound to find it here.
If you re flying Southwest or Frontier then you re entire Terminal A, which doesn t really have much there. It s very small, but has a bar area that s situated in the middle of the gate area, along with a few small shops lined along the walkway leading to the gate area. To my knowledge I don t think this terminal is connected to B and C, so if you go through here be prepared to not have much to see and do here.

The airport is clean and modern. They are well organized when it comes to taxi services...they have a dedicated area and each taxi gets in line to get the next passenger...very efficient and reliable.
