Airport is fine. The bracket room restaurant is not. It's expected that the price of a small single shot would be much higher but $15 without prior notice of the unproportional price hike is robbery. The men's restroom were horrible. Also one of the elevators going to the parking lot doesn't meet code. When closing, the elevator door doesn't automatically open again when there is something between the doors.

I'd never return to this airport. They are horrible if you are traveling with a medical device. Which requires a pat down screening. Also if your flight gets canceled the staff is not helpful at all with trying to help you rebook your flight. You can ask 50 different people for help and get told all wrong information.

I fly through here often. You really can't beat the location or views on approach if you're staying in the DC area. As a connecting airport it's absolutely miserable. Terminal A is like a can of sardines and the line for any of the restaurants is constantly about 5-10 minutes. After having flights cancelled repeatedly, I opted to stay the night. They kick you out of the secure area to the cold, inhospitable entrance hall. If you have to connect to any other terminals you'll have to go through security again.

Flying from smaller airports will put you in remote parking where you have to take a bus that's way too small for the amount of people and with drivers that hit the gas and brakes with reckless abandon, throwing you into your fellow passengers. Oftentimes you'll arrive at the plane only to find it isn't ready and you have to stand there for 15 minutes unable to move and feeling increasingly claustrophobic. I would liken it to a horror movie.

Luckily I can re-list myself on flights because the line for the customer service desk often stretches 50 people deep.

If you're looking for a quick in and out of DC, this is the airport for you. Otherwise, avoid it at all costs.

It's little, but definitely worth flying into here for the easy 40-minute metro ride into the city (definitely the blue line, and I think the silver)--without that it would probably be 3 stars, maybe even 2, but with that it's easily the best choice for flying into DC (at least if you don't have people waiting to retrieve you by automobile). They're building a line to Dulles, but don't hold your breath. And BWI is tougher. Southwest flies here now, which can be awesome if their schedule and availability happen to work out for your trip. There's a shuttle to parking lots and the metro. You can walk to the metro from a bunch or all of the terminals, but it's a real trek between the metro and Terminal A. It's not a Great American Airport, but it helps you get from point a to point b.

With respect to Terminal A specifically: It's small and easy to navigate, but has basically nothing. As long as you don't arrive too early it should be fine, but don't go searching for the Tortas Frontera once you arrive (oh hai, Chicago). Security is super quick for the last flight out on a weekday night. There are charging stations, which is nice and is definitely not the norm. You'll see signs for a walkway between this terminal and the metro. Don't be fooled! You'll be dragging your stuff around for 20 minutes, minimum. Hop the shuttle instead, which goes door to door. The security are nice enough, and reasonably quick. The bags were out quickly upon arrival. And of course you've gotta cut DCA and this terminal some slack because they allow you to fly Southwest in and out of DCA.

This is the worst airport I ve ever been to. The entire terminal smells like cheap perfume due to the poorly planned setup of restaurants and stores. The bathrooms are disgusting and the food is overpriced and awful. Wish I could give it 0 stars.

Due to a broken leg I needed a wheelchair. As soon as I got off the plane a gentleman was waiting for me! He took me to where my ride was going to pick me up. Stayed with me until my ride arrived. Thank you American for the extra care. Thank you Reagan National for fantastic employees!

Love flying in and out or Reagan. The proximity to downtown and ease of access to the metro are great. Security lines move quickly as each terminal is only servicing a handful of gates. Restrooms are always clean and there are a nice variety of places to eat.

I guess it s unfair to this airport to leave this a star review. Well I guess since it s airline service, every parties have a responsibly in provide bad discontinuous service. Means from the as little as the crew members, the security, the airport, the planes, ... the management and the rich people who own the business, take all the money of fly passenger and care very very little about customer s benefit or tiny rights.

American flights in general is one of the worst or the worse, there is nothing can be worse so can not even say one of the worse. I have never seen in my entirely traveling life, there is such a service, from the country that names itself the #1 nation of the world.

Flight always delay for stupid reasons, if it s not the gate jamed, it will be loading food to the cabin or the runway is closed, or even because of there is a big dark cloud is hanging on top of the airport! Jezz, It s unbelievable! Common America! I thought you are going to be better again? Perhaps it has never been good to begin with. So don t even mention better! Because it s really unreal! It s a shame for such a proud and arrogant nation.

Airport / flights are the first impression of the whole world about you! And if it s this bad what can be better?!? So sad! Feel bleeding at 11:44 pm STILL sitting in the plane (after almost 1 hour and half delay)... AGAIN ! Wait for some ridiculous issues to be solved. What a system!

In Europe, even train which is nothing, simple daily service for everyone, not even mention airline, If it arrives late 30 mins than planned, the passengers will has their ticket refund. With all the customer service laws and all the big mouth advertising bla bla bla about how attentive and care American business is toward their customers... i should think this must never happen!!! Or just because customer service in this country is terrible terrible that needs the law to be a tiny bit better instead of just doing it right at the very first place for god s sake!

What a shame ! What a shame !

DCA has one of the worst Southwest terminals in the country. The bathrooms are always dirty and over crowded. The terminal is way too small and makes people feel claustrophobic. When picking up my luggage it takes longer than 20 to 30 minutes after landing and more often than not, the signs are wrong, making everyone change carousels. I hate flying Southwest at this airport!

Simple layout of the airport, lots of restaurants and gift shops line the halls. 3 parking lots and a lot of rental car companies to choose from. The maps make it difficult to find out what level your needing to get to, but that s only a slight inconvenience. Great views from the 3rd level windows.

Cold, little food choices and what is offered is expensive. Good thing most folks are friendly. Don't trust the ground crew to give full info re flights, especially if on standby. All good

location to DC and metro stop makes it convenient. However Terminal C hotel shuttle waiting area is a smoking station. I inhaled at least 5 peoples smoke waiting for my hotel shuttle. I tried to escape it but you had to be close enough for the hotel shuttle bus to stop for you. this is a problem with an easy solution.

If you want an airport experience including friendly, caring, knowledgeable staff- DO NOT count on the bunch here. After being bumped from our flight THREE TIMES IN A ROW, every answer to any question we had was, 'I don't know". Really? This is your job, most of the paying flyers probably would appreciate you to know where to direct them.

This is not my favorite airport, but it hits all the marks where it's supposed to and it's my airport. The security is relatively efficient compared to most airports, and I've had less baggage issues here than most other airports I've regularly flown in/out of. Don't try to park here. Just Uber or ride the metro. Yes there is metro stop connected to the airport. There are decent food options, but to get from one terminal to another you have to exit/re-enter security so you're kind of stuck with whatever is in your terminal. This is primarily a domestic flight airport as most of the international flights go in/out of Dulles (like 40 mins to and hour and a half away depending on traffic). Don't try to fly out on Friday or in on Sunday when Congress is in session unless you like crowds, paying more, and sitting next to Ted Cruz on a flight, because literally every Congressman and half of his/her staff try to go home to their districts on the weekends. The pandering is kind of ridiculous.

Convenient for downtown DC, it has limited selection of airlines, food and amenities but the security is fast and thorough. The flights are typically on time and beats flying into Dulles airport and driving at least an hour or if during rush hour, it could be three hours.

Nice, little airport. Check in was very easy and it took me about one minute to get through security. There is a nice little bonus while waiting.... rocking chairs. You don't see these to often at an airport. There are not a lot of food options, but enough to get you by.

Parts of DCA are good (the convenience to the Metro and the District, the shops & restaurants), most is okay, and then there's Gate 35X, DCA's re-creation of the worst of 3rd world airports. 35X serves roughly 10 planes parked on the tarmac, each of which seats 50 people. 50 x 10 = 500. 35X has about 250 seats, which produces both crowding and surly fellow customers. Then you get on the buses. Each bus serves a plane of 50 plus crew (3 or 4). The buses would appropriately handle 40 at most, so 50 means we all pack in like sardines with our arms in the air holding onto the ceiling rails or the posts. As we stand, typically for 10 minutes before leaving, you watch the blood drain from your hands and arms since you have no space to lower them. Back packs crush you in all directions. It's an appalling entrance or exit to a capital city in the developing world, probably acceptable for an airport in *rural* Bolivia or Kyrgyzstan, only this is Washington. So while DCA's convenience is great, 35X makes it my least favorite airport in the US. And I travel a lot.

DCA please fix the baggage carrousel in terminal A. I flew back from Toronto last Saturday. The flight is about an hour long. We waited 45 mn for our luggage. The baggage carrousel kept stopping and going. After I complained to one of the airport employee, they called a mechanic. Apparently the problem has been going on for 3 years!

Flew through here twice connecting to Philly, landed and departed from gate 35X which has 5 doors that lead to buses which being to your plane. Pretty confusing for pretty much everyone I talked to as the lcd screens don't even display flight information, and it ends up being a mad house in a confined space. Logistically it's pretty much a nightmare. - from my 2 experiences in the same gate

I have flown through here a few times over the last several years. The last time was earlier this week (April 25-26). The primary reason for giving three stars is the experience of Gate 35X. I understand that Dayton, Ohio is not a popular destination from DCA, but I do wish they would streamline how they shuttle passengers from the drab downstairs waiting area to the plane. It really pays to be last in line to board, since that should translate into less time standing on that horribly crowded shuttle bus. As far as the terminal itself is concerned, the area upstairs from 35X has a number of eateries, though I couldn't believe how crowded the entire place was. DCA is preferable to IAD due to its proximity to our company's Arlington office, so I will likely continue to use this airport for any future trips.

Clean and smooth airport. American Airlines customer service rocks here. They were able to accommodate me on the next flight. This airport is very nice and navigable. However, the only bad thing is the pick up/drop off area. It needs work because the traffic can be backed up at times. The airport architecture is very nice, I was taking pictures of it!

I have been to nicer bus stops dirty crowded falling apart. On the plus side it is a great example of our crumbling infrastructure and dysfunctional government. Just count it as part of the learning experience of visiting our nation's capital.

I'm a patient person and understand that the TSA has a job to do. But they don't have to be so rude and impatient. The TSA people didn't talk to each other and one told is to do one thing and the other told us another.. when we asked an attendant how to get to our gate he rolled his eyes and had a bad attitude. Make sure you look at which gate you are at so you don't have to take the shuttle. Why do you look at the ticket and then not tell you that you are at the wrong terminal is beyond me. Just means they don't care. We stopped for something to eat and the staff at the bar was nice.

Very convenient to the city and the cab fare from DC to the airport is only a couple of bucks more than a 2 mile ride in DC. Unfortunately the market mall in the Southwest terminal has loud obnoxious that makes walking to the gate unpleasant and browsing unbearable. What are they thinking?

Airport is small and clustered together. You aren't able to get from one terminal to another without having to go through security. So if you are flying on Delta and your significant other is flying on American. You have to wait outside of security to meet them. TPA and SLC are easily the best airports I've been through when it comes to efficiency and planning. Definitely will make the extra effort to not stop through this airport again.

Reagan airport is beautiful. I would say arrive early so that you do not spend a long time going through security. If you are someone who likes to grab a few things before yout flight, there are a few options available.

Reagan biggest problem is that gates change for almost every flight everytime. I've traveled out of Reagan about 6 times and it has happened everytime! On a good note, there parking and parking fees are pretty good! Most staff are friendly and helpful!

It s a very nice airport, signs a very helpful for people to get to their destination. Some of the signs are also translated to Spanish for non English speakers from Hispanic country. The waiting area is very spacious in the case you can t to stretch a little bit before a long flight. There is food very close to the gates for you convenience.

Friendly and helpful staff. I know, because I had to ask where the heck the rental car counters were, as there was no signage. The process to get the car was also odd. I haven t traveled anywhere with the same practices used here. Other than that, the airport is close to everything.

This is a horrible airport to travel

This is a horrible airport to travel
Signage driving around is bad
The outside check in people are useless. They should be let go & the saving go towards cheaper flights
Terminals are not connected & can require going through multiple security lines of you go to the wrong one or booked a cheaper flight through using more than one airline
Reagan would be disappointed that his name is on this airport!
Gets 2 versus 1 stars since I didn't get spit on or killed

Small but historic airport terminal. Only delivers domestic flights. Very close proximity to the City. Parking is expensive but available. I would recommend metroing since it's right off the blue/yellow line.

My view of this airport has improved today. Proximity to DC is a huge timesaver and helped me make my flight. Security was no hassle too and i got through in 5 min. Metro accessible and close to DC (20 min by car, 30 on metro). The united terminal is great. Lots of food options and most importantly, lots of electric plugs to charge your devices. Also Dulles airport doesn't offer much competition.

My favorite airport in the U.S. Small and easy to get in and out of. Colocated with a metro station, which would be the ideal way to travel. Parking on site is expensive, but there are a few options nearby.

I fly through DCA a lot. Pre-COVID I flew through DCA on average one week out of the month in not more. I also park my car there every time, which adds up very quickly. I had just flown out and parked for 11 days, and when arriving at the airport was directed from economy to garage parking. Upon return from my travels I was surprised to see my receipt charged for considerably more than expected. Here I had been charged at garage rates, which conveniently went up on 1 Sep. How on earth can they mandate parking in one area only to up the charges simultaneously? Got me good this time, but it won't happen again. Crooks.
