This hotel is truly a hidden treasure, this hotel is beauiful. The location is perfect and very close to eatery and small shops. The rooms were spacious, clean, with up to date decor and it smelled amazing. I was more than pleased with the rate and my stay. Every staff I encounter was friendly and polite. I plan to stay here again in the near future.

Check-in was very long and slow. Staff need to be trained. Hallway to room smelled like a returned home or nursing facility. Mattress was hard and springy. Paint was badly chipped in bathtub. I give it two stars because the food was very good.
You get what you pay for. Not the cleanest/newest accomodations, but it was adequate. Pillows are extremely over filled so I woke up with a sore neck/back. Continental breakfast was ok, but extremely limited options: 2 types of cereal, toast and waffles (no bagels, muffins, pastries), big bowl of oranges (no other fruit), eggs, sausage, and potatoes (no bacon).
June 9th/10th 2018: I will NEVER stay at this hotel ever again. They spend money making the lobby look good, but the rooms and beds are rubbish. I woke up with bites and found a bed bug on my bed. The only ice machine that worked was all the way on the 8 floor, that out after going to 4 other floors looking for ice and end up calling front desk to ask and complain.
Went to the bar afteraredskins game. Horrible service. She didn't know how to make a jack and Coke! Really? Then she serving a homeless guy booze. He gets drunk fight breaks out and blood all over. Ma went through window in foyer , just a low life sucking atmosphere,
On the same day, one of the hotel elevators broke down. When we entered another one, it was actually broken. A group of people were trapped in the elevator for 15 minutes. Then the shower head of the bathroom was still a little faulty. The super bad hotel.
Hotel sucks. Wish I can give 0 stars. Front dest guy is not helpful at all very dismissive. Somehow my room got booked on the wrong date so we was basically forced to make another reservation for the correct date. The room that was book originally had a no refund clause. Expedia made numerous attempts to contact the manager to get some type of leniency on the dumb rule being that we booked there again. So no forced to come on the original date so I won't lose my hard earned money and the room smells of mildew and the bed was lumpy. Look like there was a small child in the bed. The ac barely works. Run from this hotel.
The room was acceptable, and great for a discounted room as it was. The staff was friendly and professional, and very helpful with questions regarding the area.
I have been trying to contact someone within the accounting department for two weeks now. I have left more than 3 messages without a return call . I have never experienced such lack of customer service and professionalism. That will be my first and last time patronizing Metro Points. I feel like I was robbed and I cant even get an explanation as to why I was significantly overcharged
Parking spots clearly identified but part of the road was partially blocked. That was a minor inconvenience. Nice place though, plenty eating spots nearby.
I had a really bad experience here I woke up to a bed bug on my pillow in the middle of the night and I was bit 2 times by the bed bug I go down stairs to talk to the rep and the only thing he could say is that I can offer to move you to another room ummmm absolutely not needless to say after submitting picture documentations I am still waiting to be reimbursed nearly 3 weeks later do not stay at this hotel at all their services are terrible
I just went for a seminar. It's a nice looking hotel. It's very convenient. You don't have to do a lot of walking. It right off the highway. It's a shopping center across the street. Super convenient
Well we were first greeted with the smell of vomit once we made it to our floor. Our room was all the way at the end and the smell engulfed the entire hallway. Room seemed clean at first until your eyes adjust and see all the stains in the carpet. We get settled in and my son asks what is that stain on the bedskirt. Oh son that's just a big ole blood stain. Yes, a rather large blood stain! So I go down and tell the front desk and they said they will replace it, but no apologies or anything. I'm not the type to look for something for free but they could of done something!! At least say we are sorry for that to happen to you. Oh and the restaurant there, let's just say I ordered a salad and spaghetti and meatballs and I got my spaghetti first then my salad 10 minutes later! I think that's enough said in the restaurant experience. You couldn't pay me to stay there again!!
P.s what's the one amenity every hotel has? Ice right? Not this place. After the wife searched floors 5 and down she was told by the front desk with a very curt response that the ice was on the 7th floor. Looking at the reviews this has been a problem for over a month! A hotel should have ice on every floor and it shouldn't take over a month to fix!
Beware, their booking system sucks. If you don't book direct, and use an online service they have trouble finding your information. Made me feel like they didn't have reservations for me, it was very uncomfortable. After driving forever, we get to the hotel and had to wait around for them to get all our information. A lot of hotels would upgrade your room or do something to make up for it, but they didn't. The room was nice, but it sucked to feel like we might not have a place to sleep for the first 20 minutes of arriving there. The free breakfast was pretty good.
Be warned that this part of town is SKETCHY. That includes the parking lot for this hotel. That aside, this hotel was excellent. The service was friendly and the hotel was very clean. It is a little run down and has stains on the ceilings, carpets, and sheets. However, everything was clean, comfortable, and functioning. Make sure to ask for extra towels when you check-in, because they only provide 2. We would not go out of our way to stay in New Carrolten for a D.C. trip again, simply because we did not feel safe. However, this hotel is a short drive from the metro, which then gets you to the Capitol building in less than 15 minutes.
The bathrooms were moldy. When we got to the room there was a significant size crack in the slideout desk. The vending machine was broken, it gave the wrong drinks.
It was awesome! The room was clean and comfortable, staff was friendly and bilingual (which was really good), the girl of the front desk was kind and efficient! Check-in was quick as well as the check-out.
It was incredible! The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and bilingual (which was quite useful), the girl at the reception was very friendly and efficient! The registration was fast, as was the check-out. I will definitely book a room for my next stay in Washington or Maryland.
Worst customer service on earth! Yikes! I took about 3 hours to make a reservation after calling to ask for the requirements. I was told what to do. I did it but finally, they cancel my reservation with scolding. The night supervisor, Kimberly will not listen. I am very frustrated at this time.
Room was nice and cozy. Nothing was too impressive but there wasn't any terrible qualities. However the carpeting seemed dirty, so I advise you to bring your own slippers to wear.
Water pressure sucked, only one elevator, and that door is partially opened on my floor...great place to stay if ur on a budget but idk if I'm coming back here or would recommend
6-25-19. Bedbugs. Literally removed bedbugs from my body upon waking. Manager Nora was rude when I asked for both rooms in my booking to be refunded -- because only one party could produce evidence of an infestation, only one room would be refunded. Manager Nora insisted that a few bedbugs did not constitute a problem, which was refuted by the Health Inspectors of both Prince George County and New Carrollton City. Have bug photos if you'd like em.
Not a bad stay. The room is decently small, but nice. The bathroom is quite nice, however the toliet paper roll was not replaced and was half used by the prior guest. Understandably though, that is a minor complaint. Coffee was good though, but I recommend running it a couple of times before use. The bed sheets do have a odd tinge or stain to them but that could be from the lighting or the sheets above it, not very sure though.
CUSTOMER SERVICE...They were honest... My daughter stayed there with her 8th grade class trip on 11/7-11/10. When she checked out she inadvertently left her laptop in the room (#317). When she discovered this the next morning, I immediately called the hotel. I was told I had to leave a msg, that no one at the front desk could help me.
I was transferred to a voice mail for the General Manager, Mr. Kevin Beard. Nice voicemail, so I left details as instructed and asked that he return my call. Nothing. I called again on 11/12. He wasn't available again and I was told to leave another message. I did.
As of 7:30 pm on 11/12, I STILL have NOT had the courtesy of a return call. I called again (I had to call twice since the first time no one picked up the phone) only to be told he wasn't there, and no one else could help me.
I asked the man who answered the phone tonight who the General Manager reports to, and was told "there is no one" and that this was an independent hotel.
If I can't even get a call back re: a missing laptop, what kind of operation are they running here? Stay someplace else...I'll post back when I get a call back from Mr. Beard.
UPDATE: 11/20/15 Within an hour of posting this review I received a call from Mr. Beard. (Coincidence?) He was very helpful once we finally connected. Long story short, I'm happy to report they had the laptop and for a small fee shipped it to me. The computer arrived safely, packaged in bubble wrap. Kudos to their staff for honesty.
Room was ok and the location was perfect the problems i had was the roaches coming the room next door an the vents in the bathroom where very dirty also my door was broken looked liked some kicked it in.
Been coming here with the hubby since 2014. Have been pleased with there services and rooms since then. Til this day this hotel is still me and the hubby go to get away hotel.
The service there was horrendous the two receptions was the worst .because my name was Muhammad. I am a black man born here but they couldn't get pass my name being Muhammad. They potentially messed up my reservations, then was nasty when i ask for the management. They call the police. it was my birthday weekend it was the worst experience of my life. no one should be treated like that. Then when o was leaving they started laughing..
I bet I will not stay at this hotel as much as I check into this place without any problem the front guest worker made it an issue with my credit card an I checked in last week with the same card without any problem, no one was around to assist me and that s a problem cause he act like he was scared an I don t know why even hire people or have a company that there s no manager in sight this
A older hotel but well kept up . This is definitely the best hotel I have found in the area. Room are cleaned daily . The beds are comfortable. I would suggest going online and booking. It's cheaper than going to the front desk.
When I arrived at 2:00 PM after driving for 4 hours, I was NOT allowed to check-in. I was told I could pay a $50 early check-in fee. I have never heard of this before. I left and returned later to be greeted by Lacedes, who apparently didn't want to be there, told me I would be charged an additional $100 hold for my stay. When I explained that is not what was told to be when I made my reservations, she insisted I was lying because that's not how they do it there. I should have known not to book this hotel because the website was not able to make reservations which is why I had to call and speak with someone. The room Lacedes gave me was on the 3rd floor and had a view of building. As an event planner, I will definitely keep this visit in mind when making referrals for this area. Not my best hotel experience.
The ice machine was broken along with our toilet that would not flush and overflowed. The shower had cracks in the wall and the wallpaper was peeling off. The room was extremely outdated and smelt awful. The carpets smelt like mold and the air conditioner would make a loud banging noise. You can hear clear into your neighbor's room. Breakfast had no fruit and one cereal choice that was stale. Did not see one person clean our room during the stay. Also, if you stood on the floor for more than three seconds your feet would stick to them. Hotel was 40 minutes from D.C. with traffic.
